Question 3 : What kind of media
institution might distribute your
    media product and why?

            Evaluation
Who?
• My magazine is going to be aimed at females
  aged 18-25, who are aspiring to be a
  young, non-conforming trend setter. With a
  grade B/C1 on the jicnar scale.
Where?
• I would plan to use a distribution strategy like
  Clash magazine. They use both hard copies
  and online copies to sell the magazine. I
  would distribute the magazine to small
  vintage shops, such as Beyond Retro, Rokit
  and Absolute Vintage etc. As these shops are
  where my audience is more likely to visit. Also
  I will have a digital copy on the website, so
  that the magazine is available to my target
  audience who could not get to this shops.
How?
• I feel this strategy would work extremely well
  with my magazine because it promotes the
  idea of the magazine being individual and
  rare. And by having the magazine only
  available from certain shops and newsagents,
  it would definitely encourage my target
  audience to read it, because of its sense of
  rarity, in which my audience should have.
With?
• I think that with my suggested distribution strategy, my
  magazine would work in conjunction with festivals such as
  Underground Festival, Bath Folk Festival and other smaller
  festivals. But also could have sponsorships with other
  perhaps more mainstream festivals and gigs such as
  Glastonbury, Leeds/Reading Festival and V festival, as they
  would be more likely to show bands that were in the
  magazine.
• Also my magazine could be distributed in mainstream indie
  clothing stores where my audience would be more likely to
  see a copy, such as TopShop and other vintage clothing
  stores. This would make the magazine available to
  everyone and increase the profit margin of the magazine.
Possible?
• My magazine could even branch out into its
  own record label, signing only the bands from
  both the genres, that would appeal to the
  target audience that I have selected.
• This would spread the brand of the magazine
  to different media platforms as well as
  keeping the indie/folk original vibe of the
  magazine intact.
