The document discusses linking various products such as a movie poster, magazine cover, and trailer through consistent imagery, fonts, colors, and language. It recommends using identical fonts and house styles across products to clearly link them. Using consistent imagery of characters in the same outfits across the products also effectively links the brand. While some linking elements like colors were used, the poster and magazine cover could link more through better consistency in visual elements and language.

2. In the main title of my poster and my
cover story of my magazine there
should be a much better link of font and
colors. In theory both fonts should be
identical to create that link and house
style between products. The house style
here should be more consistent to make
the product more effective.
My imagery here is consistent and it is
conventional to have that link between
products. I have made sure that the main
character of the image is wearing the same
clothes the only thing being different is the
position. This is an effective use of linking
the brand because it makes the main
character more identifiable. The below
image is taken from my trailer where you
can see the main character in his
corresponding uniform in both ancillary
products.
3. When looking at both covers on a wide
scale we can see there is some attempt
at linking the two through color but very
little. The influence of the yellow and
blue colors on the magazine makes it
hard to create an effective link between
the products. The imagery is effective
but the poster seems to take a very red
and white theme and look sharp. There
is some similarity in language with there
being the same strapline or slogan on
both products. Both products are
conventional for form but could link
slightly better. The language is fairly
similar between both products with a
few reviews from the poster and this
kind of language is consistent in the
magazine cover.
4. Imagery
I have used imagery effectively in my ancillary and trailer by
including all the main characters on the magazine cover.
Although the mice-en-scene is not exactly correct in relation to
my main character and in the trailer their appearance on the
magazine cover makes the link between products stronger. As
you can see the lower images are taken from my trailer and
shows the two main characters featuring in the trailer. Although
the mice-en-scene isn’t the same it still creates a link between
the two characters.
This enables viewers to make a link between the two
characters and makes both of the products more effective.
5. Here is another example of how my
different products link. In my trailer I
displayed the same header style as in
the movie poster. I think it suited better
if I linked the movie header to the
trailer header because the magazine
didn’t look right with the header. By
doing this I have created another link
between the products and added to the
house style.
