 GENDER: Females
 AGE: Younger generation of females
from their teens to late 20s.
 CLASS: A more middle class individual
who has their own style and way of
life. A reason to be different and
overcome a barrier of society.
The image is there to
represent a new way in
which females do not have
to present themselves in a
provocative way, allowing
females to relate to the
magazine and encourage
them to understand and
buy it.
The age is for a younger
class of people in their
teens to late 20s. It is
showing how when you
work for what you want
you don’t give up and
can achieve what you
want even when people
knock you down.
The way in which the
female model is being
presented is showing a
sense of female
attitude to attract
female customers. Her
wrist bands that are
on show makes her
feel her age of 17 .
Both male and females can
be attracted to this as
there is a attractive
female on the front cover.
The masthead goes against convention with the
different and rebellious style. The word “LOVE”
in REVOLUTION is spelt backwards and has been
put in a red colour effect. This is supposed to
symbolise a love for all people. It is to make
people buy the magazine as they are immediately
attracted to the word love that stands out.
The purpose of including a
main cover story with a girl
who is a teenager attracts
the audience of young girls
and females. The word
“teenage” is specifically
used to show this.
Including male and female
artists on the front cover
for the articles makes
males and females
interested.
Her outfits states that she is
not rich and is not poor. This
helps people to feel
comfortable and understand
that she is something to relate
to. Her style will also
encourage different fashion
styles of all people to read this
article.
The layout has been set
out to attract individuals
of all class as it is not
conventional and is
conventional at the same
time.
The headline is very different and does not
fit conventions. It stands out and draws the
reader in wanting to read the article. It
goes for a more rebellious headline as it
goes against conventions. This article would
appeal to many rock fans as it is all about
rock legends children and grandchildren.
I have used a drop cap
for the beginning letter
of the article. This is so
it creates an effect of
grabbing the readers
attention and making
the page unique,
interesting and
creative.
I have included a caption to use as a filler and to give the
reader more information as readers search for an
explanation of the image and from an editorial point of
view picture captions have to be well written, with some
interesting text, because if they are boring, readers will
skip them and you are missing an opportunity to catch
their attention. Mine keeps the reader interested.
In the cover photo she
is smiling and directly
looking at the
audience. Ensuring
she has direct eye
contact and is smiling
makes her seem
approachable and
genuine. Her image
will want people to
read the article.
It includes an
interview which
makes it more
personal.
The effect of
including male and
female articles
allows a wider
range of people to
be interested in
the magazine. The
approach of male
and female
characters will
want people of all
genders to take an
interest.
The colour scheme is
red, black and white
and also includes
some grey. This colour
scheme is to attract
both genders as there
is not colour specified
for a certain gender.
This also keeps the
house style looking
organised and
professional,
interesting many
readers as it looks
interesting.
I have included a
variety of different
articles that would
interest all ages
and all genders.
I have laid my contents page
out this way to keep it
organised and informative.
This is so it attracts readers
and will encourage them to
read it as they can clearly see
what is included within this
magazine.
