The document discusses how the media product represents social groups through its use of images, layout, and color scheme. It focuses on using images of both males and females ages 18-24 to represent and appeal to the target audience. Specifically, a close-up female image is used on the cover to attract both female and male viewers, though the goal is a mainly female audience. The female is dressed classily in black to appeal to the target age range rather than using provocative or youthful images. The layout balances images and text for different parts of the target audience. An unconventional black and gold color scheme is used to seem sophisticated for the older target age range.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Unit 8 - Information and Communication Technology (Paper I).pdfThiyagu K
This slides describes the basic concepts of ICT, basics of Email, Emerging Technology and Digital Initiatives in Education. This presentations aligns with the UGC Paper I syllabus.
2. SHOT TYPES
On my front cover, contents page and
double page spread I took images that
would create a direct mode of address
with the audience. This means that my
target audience can create a personal
relationship (uses and grat) with the
artist. All the images I used were medium
close ups, or close ups, this helps the
reader to establish the importance of the
main artists on the magazine. The image
on my front cover took up the entire
page, and my double page spread image
taking up half the page. Both genders
were used in my magazine, but more
images of females were used as my
magazine is more targeted towards
females but could still attract a male
audience.
3. In my research I found that females are
mainly used for the front covers of the
magazines. My magazine conforms to
this as I have used a female on my front
cover. The woman on the front cover
could attract a female and male
audience. But as my magazine is mainly
based around a female target audience
the front cover needed to appeal to
females. My magazine conforms to
Mulvey’s male gaze as she is an
attractive girl who could draw attention
to a male audience, also the sultry red
lipstick which I have enhanced on
Photoshop, also her facial expressions.
But the image is not provocative and
looks classy so this would attract a
female audience as she in not being
exposed, unlike Miley Cyrus’s images
for Rolling Stone magazine. I didn’t
want the female in my magazine to be
seen as objective. The image would
attract a female audience because she
looks classy and women could identify
with her, because the Image is not
completely conforming with Mulvey’s
Male Gaze theory.
4. MISE EN SCENE
The female on my front cover is wearing
a black sparkly dress, to show class. This
enabled my target audience to relate to a
classier wear. My target audience is 18-
24 so the clothing wouldn’t be based on
a young, youth wear as my magazine is
based towards older teens/adults rather
than a generation of 16. This would
appeal to my target audience as the
‘classiness’ and fashionable clothing
could appeal to them rather than
something more like everyday wear, and I
feel it makes my magazine look more
expensive. In my research I also found
that the females dress in a dolled up way
to appeal their audiences as other
females will want to look/dress like the
admired artist.
5. LAYOUT
The layout is structured and formal but includes images
instead of the magazine just being text heavy. Some of my
target audience would find the images more appealing than
the writing unless they wanted to read an article on the main
feature artist, whereas I think that the that other people in my
target audience could find both appealing. I think that
because my target audience starts at the age of 18, they
wouldn’t find the writing a problem, whereas I think a
younger generation probably would. I based my research on Q
magazine, so the front cover does include a lot of information
and the text is close together but there is not too crammed
together to take attention away from the reader. I feel the
magazine cover works with the image, the text and the colour
scheme.
6. IMAGESThe ages of my models in my magazine vary
from 18-24, meaning that my target audience
are more likely to relate. The use of both female
and males in the images will allow for both
genders to be able to relate. Although my
magazine is mostly aimed at a female audience
it could definitely attract a male audience
through the use of colour scheme, images, text
etc.
7. COLOUR SCHEME
I feel my colour scheme is not a conventional colour
used on a lot of magazine covers. In my research I
found that the black and gold colour scheme is
mainly used in fashion magazines (ID magazine)
rather than music magazines. As my target
audience is 18-24 rather than a younger age group I
had the chance to use a more sophisticated and
smart colour to appeal to an older generation. I feel
that the colour scheme contributes to the images as
the gold is a bright colour that compliments Lydia’s
(Cara Aurellie) Golden, Blonde hair, linking the two
together.
