2. Key duties/responsibilities for quality manager
1. Works with General Manager to implement workforce plans; oversees all
production activities within the department; participates in interview process and
new employee orientations as needed and appropriate.
2. Ensures that all supervisors are appropriately trained and that the supervisors
appropriately train line workers.
3. Provide qualityrelated support for the Lynchburg Plant.
4. Gather and analyze transactional data and identify opportunities for improvement.
5. Supervise the Accounts Receivable function to ensure proper billing and
collection.
6. Conduct occasional field inspections of product, delivery and installation quality
and provide feedback as needed. Gather/maintain data to ensure issues are being
addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
7. Develop relationships and provide feedback to all areas of the organization.
8. Manage & participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

3. Key job qualifications for quality manager
1. Qualifications: B.S. Degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
2. 35 years of Quality, Engineering or related experience.
3. Knowledge of International Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management
Systems (QS9000 as applicable for automotive sector).
4. Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified
Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), or
Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred.
5. Knowledge of manufacturing and quality practices.
6. Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six
Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).
7. Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and
problemsolving skills.
8. Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
