4. Who would be the
audience for your media
product?
• Our target audience for the film opening are teenagers
and young adults, in the age range of 15-21. This is
because much of the aspects of our film opening are
more suited towards this age group and they would have
a better understanding of the characters because they
would be able to relate to them as the characters are
young people and are dressed accordingly to how young
people currently dress.
• We carried out different methods of research to find out
who are target audience are. For instance, we created a
target audience questionnaire and grouped two
audiences of different age ranges. The first group was
aged 10-14 and the other group was aged 15-19.

we had conducted
for the different
audiences to fill out.
• Once we had collected all of the questionnaires we had
measured out the proportion of people who enjoy
watching horror films and we found that it was the 15-19
year old group. Therefore, this is our official target
audience.
