Our Background
Lisa Wade – Owner/CEO
• Board Certified Behavioral Analyst with over 10 years experience helping children with Autism.
• Started Steps Therapy in 2007
Shan Wade – Owner/President
• 12 years experience in the staffing industry. 2 years experience running our CT and NY offices.
• Point person for all client interaction, including patients, families and referral partners.
Jen Baukol – Owner/Vice President
• MBA with 6 years experience running her own businesses.
• 2nd point person for client interaction, including patients, families, and referral partners.
Candice Morgan – Care Director
• 8 years experience as a Caregiver and coordinating care for her clients.
• Manages the Client Caregiver matching process.
Raj Chattergoon – Director of Patient Services
• Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with 6 years experience in the Geriatric Care field
• Directs our Program and oversees the Field RNs, who directly manage our Caregivers.
Our History
• We are a woman owned, family owned, and locally owned business.
• Steps In Home Care is a Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) in
Westchester and Nassau counties. License # 1996L001.
• Steps Therapy, our parent company, was founded in San Francisco in 2007 to
provide consultative services to people with disabilities.
• Our aim is to improve the lives of our clients and their family members.
• Based on the help we were able to provide to this population, we decided that
helping Seniors was the next logical step.
• Steps In Home Care started in Palm Beach, FL in 2009 and has since opened up 3
additional offices.
Our Goal
• Our goal is to help Seniors maintain their health and control over their living
situation by staying in a comfortable, safe environment…whether in a Nursing
Home or their own home.
• We provide our patients the help they need to maintain their emotional and
physical well-being.
• Steps not only serves the well-being of the patient, but also that of their family.
• We partner with the entire family.
• The care our company provides is the same level of care we would want our
parents to receive.

of yours. We will take care of your Mom or Dad just as we would take care of our

Our Caregivers
We only hire the top 3-4% of Caregivers that apply. Our hiring philosophy consists of
3 key principles: Passion, Experience, and Excellence.
• Passion: We have an in depth process on insure we only hire the best, most
passionate Caregivers possible.
• Experience: We require all our Caregivers to have at least 2 years experience.
• Excellence: We hold ourselves to a higher Standard of Excellence, which exceeds
state requirements.
Our Screening Process
• Verification of Home Health Aide Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Minimum of 2 previous employment reference checks
• Ongoing, national background check
• Drug Screening
• Health screenings in accordance with NYS DOH regulations
• 3 year DMV Driving Record check (if applicable)
• The most important question we ask ourselves about each applicant is,
“Would I want this person to take care of my Mom or Dad?”

• Our Caregivers are not only trained HHAs, but they also serve as Personal Assistants.
• Steps In Home Care provides care specifically geared toward each individual client.
• Our Caregivers and RNs assess an individual’s specific needs.
• We visit regularly to insure that the Plan of Care designed for each client is being
carried out.
• This is the kind of care we would expect for our loved ones. That is why we have
developed a service from a family’s perspective.
