The magazine primarily attracts young people aged 16-25 due to its rebellious style featuring a rock star model. While the magazine portrays stereotypical rock star imagery like tattoos and dark makeup, the in-depth interview features reveals the model does not support harmful stereotypes. The interview discusses the model's philanthropic animal foundation and family life outside London to provide perspective beyond superficial appearances. Although mostly featuring white heterosexual males, the magazine aims to be open-minded and available to all groups.
This is our group evaluation for question 4 which is:
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
The political climate of today is different from what it used to be. The Presidential contenders of previous elections would debate fiercely on their own position, but then go out for a drink after their time was up. Respect was expected, and deserved, and given. America’s issues were shared by all citizens. Whoever spoke against integrity, honesty, empathy, and good moral values like these were looked down upon, and thought to be the outliers of American Society. But now, people who don’t hold these values are looked up to, are tolerated, and are gaining support everyday. Discrimination based on race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, mental handicap, and other attributes are now more public than ever, and aren’t questioned. We are divided based on the differences we see in other people. It’s not much different from America’s deadly past that most people think we’ve moved on from. But the truth is, we haven’t moved on at all. Things have only gotten worse.

Q2
1. Q2) How does your Media
product represent particular
social groups?
2. Age
• My media product attracts mostly young people between 16-25
because of its rebellious and wild style.
• Young people especially teenager tend to find this as interesting and
attracting.
• On the other hand elderly might feel irritated or offended by the
nervous and crazy style of my magazine
•
3. Why my magazine is rebellious?
The name flammable already indicates the rebellious style of my
magazine. The red colour I have chosen emphasises the wild and free
minded view of a young teenager who might wants to become a rock
star.
The barely visible tattoo on the models throat says: Be careful
what you which. That shows a typical scary and extraordinary
look of a rock star. This is something new and different and
therefore attracts young people.
4. Stereotypical representation of Rock
• Rock stars are often seen as unwashed, dirty, drug addicts, alcoholics
and people who don’t know how to plan their daily life.
• My magazine supports this view only for photographs but not for the
personality of my magazine model. My magazine clearly shows the
stereotypical view on photographs as dark make up, leather and
alcohol is used. However changes this view with a very personal
interview on the double page spread.
• I have done this in order to show people that it is wrong to judge a
book by its cover and in this case to judge a Rock star by his look.
6. Race, Sexuality, Gender, Ethnicity
My magazine is mostly presenting the white, heterosexual, male and
middle glass, however it is available for anyone regardless of gender,
sexuality, race or ethnicity
Personally I believe that those factors don’t matter and everyone can
choose if they want to read my magazine or not.
I didn’t want a controversial magazine, therefore my magazine is open
minded to every social group on this planet.
