Safiya created a music video, magazine advert, and CD digipak for a course assignment. She used consistent branding elements across the projects to tie them together, including the same font, color palette, and images of the artist. For the advert and digipak, Safiya used the font "Century Gothic" and the colors black, gold, and pink. She kept the front cover designs simple without much text. There is synergy between the projects as the music video and visuals for the advert and digipak feature close-up shots of the artist in a bedroom setting.

2. As part of my A2 coursework I was
asked to create a music video
alongside two ancillary tasks. These
ancillary tasks was to create a DigiPak
and advert for our chosen song.

4. I first created my magazine advert so it linked with my DigiPak and formed a bond
between the two ancillary products. I decided to use a familiar set of images for the advert
and DigiPak as this would create a spark in the audiences mind that they have seen the
artist before on the advert, making them want to therefore purchase the CD. For the
advert and DigiPak I used the same font to set up a label for the artist as well as giving an
artist identity, it also fits in with the artists genre which is R&B. I used the typeface
“century gothic” in both my tasks and followed the conventions of the original Cassie CD
Covers where they use plain font for the artists name. I used quite bold but classy colours
for my DigiPak such as black, gold and pink. I felt that black and gold is a common set of
two colours used very often in CD albums and connote ideas about wealth and power. For
the front of my cover and magazine advert I kept it very simple and did not add much text.
The use of the main image of the artist against a pink backdrop gives off the impression
she is behind the stage ready to perform, hence there being curtains. I did not link these
images to my music video as I wanted to show the audience another way how she is
portrayed and this is through the clothes she wears as she presented to attract males by
showing her legs and her facial expressions.
The synergy between my music video and two products is shown through the close up shots I
have and also that the pictures are set in the bedroom.
