Pyrotechnics - Maritime Distress Signal ( Types - How to use - Disposal) SHM Shipcare
Pyrotechnics is the science of using self-contained exothermic chemicals reactions. It is also the craft used to generate visual/ audible signs at sea. The pyrotechnics like hand flares, rocket parachute flares, and smoke signals are used at sea.
These pyrotechnics shall be disposed of very cautiously as incautiously disposed of pyrotechnics cause environmental hazards. SHM Shipcare provides pyrotechnics as well as has a PESO approved disposal facility. For more info visit: www.shmgroup.com or Call on 18001020464
On September 11, Corporal Robert Tye, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, provided the OFFSHC a presentation about improvised explosive devices (IED). He discussed the components of and how to recognize an IED. Corporal Tye also displayed examples of inert IEDs that the Oklahoma County Sheriff may have recognized in Oklahoma.

Presentation of the OLF/NSA Davit-Launched Lifeboats ProjectOle Gabrielsen
Summary presentation of the OLF/NSA Davit-Launched lifeboat project.
The project was initiated by the Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) in December 2009, and was executed as a joint effort between OLF and The Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA). The project is a continuation of NSA LAP (Life-saving Appliances Project) and lessons learned in OLF Free Fall Lifeboat Project. The project was organized in six Work Packages (WPs) and was completed in June 2011.
The studies in the project covered the following phases during lifeboat evacuation; (1) lifeboat lowering, (2) water entry, (3) release of wire falls and (4) sail-away. Findings and recommendations related to each of the four phases are presented.
All Aboard - The Complete Virtual Tour To "Oasis Of The Seas"Jeshua _192
I have tried to make the most comprehensive and complete virtual tour of The Oasis of the Seas so far. I thik that every mayor and important corner of this vessel is in this presentation. ... just enjoy!
Stuff about people falling overboard on a boat while on the water. Created for the US Navy by myself. They didnt like this one much either.
Man overboard is serious fucking business petty officer doebelin.
Basics of fire alarm systems and bildge alarm systems in sri lanka navy crafts. Also included spares what are using and construction of photoelectric smoke detector.
Radiation safety precautions (General Principles, Power Plant Safety, Radionu...Sabir Rasheed
Radiation safety precaution. General Principles of Radiation Safety.
Aspects of shielding in diagnostic radiology.
Nuclear Power Plant Safety.
Specific Handling Precautions For Various Radionuclides.
People travelling in airplanes should have some knowledge of the type of fire extinguishers they may find onboard passenger aircrafts so that in case of a fire emergency, they know how to use the extinguishers to put out fires during the early stage of fire development.
A safety procedure is a step by step plan of how to perform a work procedure. This is used in cases where deviation from the procedure could lead to injury or accident.
Presentation contains links to official documents such as SOLAS and IMO MSC circulars and describes inspection procedure for Fire Extinguishers on board marine vessel.
0x01 - Newton's Third Law: Static vs. Dynamic AbusersOWASP Beja
f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

Diogo Sousa, Engineering Manager @ Canonical
An opinionated individual with an interest in cryptography and its intersection with secure software development.
This presentation, created by Syed Faiz ul Hassan, explores the profound influence of media on public perception and behavior. It delves into the evolution of media from oral traditions to modern digital and social media platforms. Key topics include the role of media in information propagation, socialization, crisis awareness, globalization, and education. The presentation also examines media influence through agenda setting, propaganda, and manipulative techniques used by advertisers and marketers. Furthermore, it highlights the impact of surveillance enabled by media technologies on personal behavior and preferences. Through this comprehensive overview, the presentation aims to shed light on how media shapes collective consciousness and public opinion.
This presentation by Morris Kleiner (University of Minnesota), was made during the discussion “Competition and Regulation in Professions and Occupations” held at the Working Party No. 2 on Competition and Regulation on 10 June 2024. More papers and presentations on the topic can be found out at oe.cd/crps.

2. GENERAL OBJECTIVE
At the end of the session,
students will be able to
understand the use and
importance of Pyrotechnics
3. 1. Identify the different kinds of
Pyrotechnics.
2. Differentiate types of Pyrotechnics.
3. Proper use of each type.
4. Proper handling and Maintenance of
Pyrotechnics
5. Pyrotechnics - Pyrotechnics is
the science of using materials capable
of undergoing self-contained and self-
sustained exothermic chemical
reactions for the production of heat,
light, gas, smoke and/or sound.
7. A Pyrotechnic signal flare that is carried up
into the air by a rocket and floats
suspended from a small parachute.
What is Rocket Parachute flare?
8. A pyrotechnic signal flare that is
handheld use for signaling or visual
distress signals
What is Hand Flare?
9. Orange Smoke Signal is a compact, flat top,
day time distress signal designed to be
easy and safe to handle. It provides
effective position marking during rescue
operations and can be used to indicate
wind direction, producing dense orange
smoke for a minimum of 3 minutes.
What is Orange Smoke Signal?
10. line throwing device serves to create
line connections in emergencies at
sea, as well as for line and bridge
construction.
What is Line Throwing Apparatus?
14. The minimum vertical height of rocket, when
fired from the operating point must be 300
meters or 1000 feet.
A Parachute must be activated when it reaches
top or near to the top of it’s trajectory level.
Validity of 3yrs from manufactured date
Rocket Parachute flare – The minimum
