Essay on Terrorism and the Economy
Many investigations and research have been done in an effort to discover and defend against terrorism.
Through my research I have discovered a plethora of literature that confirms this notion. This review
will focus primarily on two different aspects that work coherently to frame the big picture of our
nation s Achilles heel, better known as the southwestern border. These two aspects are: Muslim
extremist targeted recruits and how the United States economy is intertwined. The selection of
literature that I have compiled is contextually different, because they are used for various other
reasons. My purpose here is to extrapolate pertinent findings and utilize them to reinforce the
importance of managing our southwestern border and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a nation it is essential that we use what we gather and combine with what we have already learned
from history to grow.
You may wonder, How can Middle Eastern terrorist organizations use the ease of access of the
southwestern U.S. border to launch a major, successful attack? Before considering Al Qaeda s
operational tactics, it is equally important to take a look at recruiting methods and targets. I will
analyze Targeting the Poor: How Al Qaeda Would Recruit from Latin America by Freddy Paniagua.
The U.S. Department of State and experts on terrorism have suggested that the poor are a potential
source of recruits for political and Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organizations (Paniagua 2006, 1).
In this publication, Paniagua uses Bayat s classification to explain the dynamics of the poor of Latin
America. Paniagua shows how Bayat argues that the passive poor will typically be content with their
way of life and continue to struggle to survive. The political poor utilize the political process to their
perceived advantage by voting for the party they fell is able to alleviate the burdens of poverty.
Regarding the resisting poor, they typically strive for the opposition of the political and social system.
The resisting poor may even resort to radical behavior to remove the current powers. The current
situation in Syria is a great example of the resisting poor. Lastly, the surviving poor who resort to

The Secret To Motivate An Unmotivated Dog
If a dog has just been adopted, they can feel scared. They don t know where they are are what their
surroundings consist of. So, getting the dog to cooperate a little bit should be the first thing you do.
Try to figure out ways to get them excited and playful. Explore activities that encourage strong bonds
and build trust. (Marie, Rachel: The Secret To Motivating An Unmotivated Dog) Spend time
discovering new place and new experiences with your dog. ( Marie, Rachel: The Secret To Motivating
An Unmotivated Dog). Even giving the dog your approval of something can motivate them. Because
it lets them know that they are able to do what they would like to without getting in trouble first.
Giving a dog food isn t always the answer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dog would be fearful that they would get yelled at, grabbed, shaken, or even smacked. Times
since then have definitely changed and now, we use toys, treats, etc. Before, we motivated our dogs to
avoid being bad. ( Pippa:How To Motivate Your Dog) We now use motivators that the dogs want,
rather than what they are afraid of. Respect (although sounds like it would be a good motivator) is
really only a show of fear from dog to owner. The dog is afraid that they will get yelled at for
correction or there will be some kind of disapproval. Respect from the dog is a powerful tool, it s just
not a very useful/sufficient tool.
However, some of the most powerful working motivators include food no surprise there but that is
what dogs love most. Long ago, dogs used to have to hunt in order to get their food. Since they have
evolved from wolves, that behavior is still in them, so really a dog will do anything to get the food you
offer them. Controlling the motivation tool, though, is useful for the owner when trying to train the
dog. It helps with behavior and it gives you a clue on what they ll act like when they re older. Since a
treat is the ultimate motivator, it keeps the dog in check. So

Research Paper On Wild Bill Hickok
There is something about the word dead that many people suddenly feel dread. It is just your usual
English word and I guess the meaning is what scares most people. It is dead the unknown the
mysterious and so on. In the old days in the American west or Wild west there was a man who was
considered to be one of the greatest gunfighters. His name was Wild Bill Hickok and he met with
death in Deadwood, South Dakota. There we have it perhaps he should never have gone to a town
with a name like that. His full name was James Butler Wild Bill Hickok and he came into this world in
1837 in the state of Illinois in the U.S. He first got notoriety as a gunfighter in 1861 when without any
difficulty he shot three men who were trying to kill him. It

The Interrelationships Between Hospitality And Wider...
P 1.1 Discuss the interrelationships between hospitality and wider travel and tourism businesses The
hospitality and leisure industry hug a variety of sectors and businesses across hotels, restaurants and
restaurants, travel and tourism, gaming, sport and leisure. The sector is reliant on the consumer
confidence and business sentiment and is facing rising pressure to deliver innovation, value and
quality. Hospitality is that business that helps people to feel welcome, relaxed and to enjoy
themselves. It is all about customer service and providing the best quality and experience possible for
the customers. (Discover Hospitality, 2012) The accommodation sector is about giving a warm
welcome and taking the time to give customers a great experience. This sector includes all businesses
that provide a place to sleep as part of their offer to the guests, including hotels, lodges, motels,
backpackers, holiday parks and serviced apartments. This sector works closely next to some other
sectors within the hospitality industry. People frequently enter this moving sector from the fast food
(quick service) outlets, restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs, catering or food services. Hotels were always
major providers of food services, entertainment (business and conference services), leisure and
sporting. (Cooper and Shepherd, 1998) Accommodation subsectors Hotels the most important

Chinese Cinderella Yen Mah
Some people may think that Chinese Cinderella is very depressing, but it is inspirational. The author
who wrote this lived this, and she may have been beaten, but she worked hard enough to go to college
and get a better life for herself. Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, is a moving story about a girl
who works hard in school to get a better life. She is loyal to her Aunt Baba, accepts that she is
unappreciated, but still tries in her school work to try and impress her father, and gets back up every
time she is abused. Adeline accepts that she is unloved, but still tries hard in her school work to
impress her father. When Adeline is sent to Tianjin, she has to learn English so she is put in the
younger class because it is off of the student s ability to speak English. She then worked really hard to
catch up to her level. Towards the end of the book, Adeline wanted to go to college really badly So she
continually wrote to Father and Niang asking if she could go. Then one day father called her into the

Religious Conflict in Russia
RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN RUSSIA
One of the great ironies of history is that Marxism, an atheistic theory, was first implemented in
Russia—a land inhabited by millions of believers practicing most of the world s great religions. In fact,
religion is so integral to the culture and history of Russia, it would be impossible to gain a full
understanding for the unique character of the country and its people without a careful examination of
the religious factors at play throughout its history.
BACKGROUND
Basic Demographics Any discussion of Russia must begin with its single most striking feature—its
sheer vastness. During World War II, a German general noted how his troops were depressed by the
monotony of the landscape and the immensity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In terms of languages, Russian is the common official language throughout the Federation, understood
by 99 percent of its current inhabitants and widespread in many adjacent areas of Asia and Eastern
Europe. However, national subdivisions of Russia have additional official languages, further reflecting
the diverse ethnicity of the country. As a result, there are more than 100 languages spoken throughout
the nation, most tied to the particular ethnic groups from which they sprang.
Economics and Education Perhaps the most significant impact of the collapse of the Soviet Union in
1991 has been the economic chaos which subsequently consumed the country. For five years
following the collapse, Russia saw its comparatively developed centrally planned economy contract
severely. It was not until 1997 that Russia began to show signs of recovery as a result of its new open
market policies. Since that time, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country has grown by an
average of 6.7 percent per year, largely on the back of oil exports, as well as a steadily developing
service and industrial output. Currently, Russia s GDP by purchasing power parity (PPP) is
approximately $1.5 trillion, making it the ninth largest economy in the world and the fifth largest in
Europe. If this growth rate is sustained, the country will become the second largest European economy
after Germany and the sixth largest in

Jordan Compare And Contrast
Even if you are not a big sports fan, chances are you know the names of Michael Jordan and LeBron
James. These two men are two of sports greatest players ever. Even though they come from different
eras of the game, they often are compared to each other. That is because they stand out as some of the
top players to ever play the game. They are without a doubt in the same company as NBA greats such
as Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird and many more. Many people, including the ballers
themselves, claim the two of them are impossible to compare. Although I agree they should not to

LeBron really is. Today s sports fan obsesses over the art of arguing over things such as best team,
best coach and of course, best player. The debate may even be most alive in the NBA. Basketball is
very much a team sport, but it has the ability for one player to take over. That is why basketball fans
like to compare great players of different times, like Jordan and James. This particular topic is almost
the stepping stone for all other debates. These players are very often compared by sports media. For
example, this Sports Illustrated article describes a scene in new movie Bad Teacher where the main
character has a quick argument over LeBron and MJ with a student, a teacher and a middle school
student arguing about Michael Jordan and LeBron James. It is the truest sports scene I ve seen in a
long while. It s about me. I have become a grumpy old man, a bad teacher. I cannot even listen to the
Jordan versus LeBron arguments (Posnanski). It is also popular in the music industry. In the song

Group Decision-Making Paper
Research by Kouzes and Posner (2012) indicated that competence is one of the most desired
characteristics in a supervisor. In addition, research by Brauckman and Pashiardis (2011) confirmed
the need for principals to be competent in promoting cooperation and trust with all stakeholders.
Decision Making Group decision making requires leadership from all members. Our team s
effectiveness was aided by accepting compromise and valuing all contributions throughout the
process. We made decisions by asking for agreement whenever a decision was necessary or a when a

developed over time through study and practical experience. Some individuals may be born with a
greater propensity towards leadership, but even these individuals must take advantage of leadership
experiences in order to hone their skills. The Bible gives us examples of men and women who
appeared to be unlikely leaders, but were molded by God to guide God s people in times of need.
Moses the murderer led the Israelites to the Promised Land and David the adulterer became the
greatest king of Israel (Exodus 2 Samuel). What set these men apart was not their genius, speaking
ability or military prowess but rather their dependence on God. The kings that followed David failed
to ensure that Israel remained faithful to the Lord and this resulted in the division of the kingdom and
exile of the nation (1 2 Kings). Christian leaders of today can look to the example of Moses and David
to encourage perseverance and commitment to following God s leading. Indeed, God will always
provide the means for His people to succeed in the roles where He places them (2 Corinthians

Review Of How To Read Literature Like A Professor Chapter 10
Journal Entry 6:
Chapter 10 of How to Read Literature Like a Professor is called Never Stand Next to the Hero. This
chapter claims that character s deaths are important plot devices. Foster made a great point of saying
how readers become emotionally attached to characters in books. He makes to point that characters
aren t real people. They re not people because they have never existed. I mean, have you ever met one
on the street? Characters are simply an outline made by the author and the reader coloring in that
outline to make the character what they want it to be. Foster also pushed the point across that the main
character can t ever die in the beginning or middle of the book. If the main character dies, what s the
point of the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And Other Ironies . This chapter s claim is Irony trumps everything. What Foster means by this is that
trumping everything, irony doesn t eliminate other layers of meaning. Rather, irony relies on these
other layers of meaning: symbolic, archetypal, intertextual, or otherwise and then overthrows them by
converting them into the ironic mode. In Animal Farm a lot of dramatic irony takes place. The animals
think that they remember Major s words that had become the Seven Commandments, but their
illiteracy causes them to be unsure. The animals never had to deal with human beings, never had to
engage in trade, and they never had to make use of money. All the animals remembered passing such
resolutions (or at least they thought they did.) The reader doesn t forget what the original rules were
and even if that happened they could go back in the story and look for themselves, while the animals
in the book couldn t. The animal s forgetfulness is an example of dramatic irony. Dramatic irony gives
the reader information that one or more of the characters does not know, thereby, creating incongruous
dialogue. Illiteracy becomes a problem for the animals again when they cheerfully bid Boxer, the
hardworking horse, goodbye, thinking that he is going to a veterinary hospital for treatment. The
animals crowded round the van. Good bye, Boxer! they chorused,

Descriptive Essay On A Perfect Storm
A Perfect Storm
The dark clouds churned and twisted. Water droplets and needle like ice pellets bombarded down on
me from above. The downpour made it impossible to see even a mere five feet in front of your face. I
started to lose my footing on the slick, slippery grass.
It was a warm, fresh morning. A light breeze ruffled bright green leaves in the trees. There was not a
cloud in the sky. It was the perfect summer day. I rode my bike over to Matthew Lange s house. We
found ourselves in his garage messing with his airsoft guns. We grabbed them and went around the
neighborhood looking for Cal and Will to have a war. We found them over at Izzy s house prank
calling people from her garage phone. We called a couple people of our own and decided to quit after
asking Apple Roofing if they could come put apples on my roof.
We should get more guys and some more guns and have a war , Will suggested. Cal, Matthew, Will,
and I rode around on our bikes around until we found some other neighborhood kids who had airsoft
guns. A couple people wanted eye protection so I rode home and grabbed some sunglasses. We were
all set for war when it started to sprinkle a bit. Nothing that could stop us from being outside, but it
should have been a warning of what there was to come.
We continued to play as the sky was getting darker and darker. The sprinkle turned to a drizzle, and
the drizzle turned to a rain. The rain cut off suddenly, surprising everyone. We took it

Sleepless in Seattle a Film Directed by Nora Ephrons
There are times in life when love is taken for granted. People fall in love for many different reasons,
some for money, some for convenience and others simply because their family approves of the
marriage. Then there are those who fall in love because they truly are in love and have found the love
of their life. Does that only happen once in a lifetime? Most believe so, but for some love can happen
more than once. They say that, People who have truly loved once are more likely to love again.

Annie s transition begins while she is driving in the car and a talk show comes on. She finds herself
totally consumed by a young boy who has lost his mother and his father who is so desperately
grieving. She listens to Jonah and Sam on the radio and is taken up in the moment. The writer uses
many words repeatedly in this film all of which are an indication to what is happening to the character.
As she is listening to Sam speak about meeting his wife for the first time, he says, I was just taking her
hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like ...magic. (IMDb) This word strikes a chord in her
because she has heard this word before, when her mother was speaking about meeting her father for
the first time. She is beginning to see a pattern. She mutters the word, Magic the same time Sam does.
The seed is planted and now will begin to grow. Sam sits on the bench with the phone next to his ear
and speaks to Dr. Fieldstone. Jonah has begun this conversation with his phone call into the radio
station, however now he sleeps on his father s lap. Sam continues to spill his heart out for all of
America to hear. Dr. Fieldstone asks Sam what was so special about his wife. He continues, Well, it
was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be
together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her.

Cultural Impacts Of Globalization
ABSTRACT
Globalization can be defined as a system of interaction or increasing global relationships between
cultures, people, and economic activities among the countries of the world. Globalization in its
simpler form refers to conglomerate exchange of languages, ideas, and cultures. Behaviour or impacts
of Globalization differ from country to country having a demarcation between developed countries
like Britain and developing countries. Some critics allege that it has been footing down the cultural
values and increasing conflicts between two nations. Globalization is a double edged sword as it
impacts and affects all generations of people, economically, politically, environmentally, and
culturally. While Globalization has its benefits millions of people around the world are now more
empowered because of global interconnectedness there are still many problems that can and already
have risen from cultural and economic development around the world KEYWORDS: globalisation,
environment, opportunity.
INTRODUCTION The historical origin of the process of Globalization is debatable as in common
usage refers to late twentieth century but some scholars regard it as having ancient history. One can
confirm this by observing the trade patterns between the empires in ancient times. Some examples
such as Silk Road between eastern world and Ottoman Empire, trade links between Roman Empire
and India can be cited. Another stage of Globalization began during the Islamic age with the

Comparing The Living End And My Own Private Idaho
The intro and the ending of The Living End and My Own Private Idaho has many similarities, mainly
in the background and the theme. The beginning of The Living End depicts Luke running around in
the desert. When I first saw this scene I was able to instantly connect it to My Own Private Idaho .
However, unlike the intro from My Own Private Idaho The Living End depicts a much happier
carefree vibe. Jon seems to be more reserved like Mike and tries to stay away from trouble even
though trouble (Luke), keeps finding him. Luke on the other hand is very similar to Scott, in his
badass behavior and his uncaring attitude. The overall adventure plot of each film is very similar. In
each film the characters are trying to improve their lives while putting their main problems on the
back burner. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both films show graphic depictions of sex. However there is a distinct difference between these
depictions. In Go Fish many of these depections are of lesbian sex, with very positive outcomes. In
some scenes of The Living End the opposite appears to be true. For example, towards the beginning of
the movie Luke is hooking up with someone, who wife is not okay with him being bisexual. When she
finds them together, she proceeds to violently stab her husband to death, right in front of Luke. As the
film progresses Luke repeatedly calls Jon asking him if he wants to get off. Jon continues to decline
demanding that he s not interested and he need to stop calling him. Even when the two do have sex it
doesn t end happily. The day after they hook up for the first time, Jon kicks Luke out staying that he
never wants to see him again. The Living End also features some shoddy camera work that is slightly
similar to the picture in Go

Blue Black Boy Analysis
The Power of a Picture
One of the most intriguing and influential images included in Citizen by Claudia Rankine is the image
entitled Blue Black Boy. Blue Black Boy is a visual work of art created by Carrie Mae Weems in 1990
s; Weems is a very successful female African American artist. Through a close reading of the image, I
was able to derive meaning out of the various aspects that work together to create such an eloquent
work of art. In its formal aspects, Blue Black Boy has several important ingredients that lead to its
overall meaning. To start, the first thing I noticed is the vibrant white shirt the African American boy is
wearing; it really stuck out to me and was brought into the foreground of the image. This immediately
connected with ideas mentioned earlier in Rankine s book, _______ (Rankine __). The white shirt as
with the white background make the subject stand out and a ripe target for scrutiny. Another very
intriguing aspect of the image is the words under each of the sequential identical pictures of the boy.
Under the first picture is the word blue with the others being black and boy respectively. I believe
Weems is implying how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Living in America, she has been subjected to scrutiny based solely on her skin color as well as other
forms of racism. Speaking of racism, Blue Black Boy, was created in a time where racism was very
prevalent; every aspect of life was exposed to. These feelings by society and ___ of racism have
attributed to the formal aspects mentioned above and shaped how Weems created her work of art.
While there was a great deal of racism, many having been pushing for equality amongst races. Weems
can be seen as one of the many pushing for equality and I see Blue Black Boy as an attempt to raise a
question within society about the treatment of African

Charles Darwin s Chapter Summary
In this chapter, Darwin believed that variation is mostly due to reproduction and not environmental
aspects and use of habits, like most scientists recognized. Meanwhile, he states that the extensive use
of certain organs has made special body parts come to be. He supports his point by comparing the legs
of a ducks that walks and the wings of a duck that fly. In reproduction, particular variations are passed
down to an offspring by a parent, which are continued in following generations to come. This is the
reason why sometimes it later animals or plants offspring, there it certain extraordinary traits that
show up again. It is stated that it is unknown by scientist how the law of inheritance works with
parents and their offspring and why traits

Clinical Leadership And The United Kingdom National Health...
Introduction
Clinical leadership is a concept growing in usage. Word frequency in the English lexicon shows the
term increasing in the last two decades, despite its composite words remaining static over the same
period (Graphs 1 and 2).
Graph 1: Word frequency in the British Lexicon of leadership and clinical (Google 2015)
Graph 2: Word frequency in the British Lexicon of clinical leadership (Google 2015)
Clinical leadership as a term grew out of opposition to New Public Management (Hood 1991) and the
corporatisation of health services in the 1970s to 1990s. The recent focus on catastrophic medical
errors in the United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS), in particular at the Mid Staffordshire

Organisations are doing more to foster it, with some success, but barriers remain. Background
Leadership is often juxtaposed against management. In classical business teaching, Kotter (2001,
reprint p4) defines the difference: Management is about coping with complexity. Leadership (by
contrast) is about coping with change. Leadership is more commonly distributed across all
organisational levels, and leaders are seen as those who empower others to significantly improve
organisation performance. Managers are those involved in performance monitoring, target setting, and
most importantly with the operational oversight of employees. They organise resources and maintain
stability. This is a large field, but for current purposes we accept that, though there is overlap, Kotter s
definition serves to highlight a valid distinction.
Leadership as a term has differing meanings through time. The influence of Great Man theories stem
form the socio politico models prevalent in much of the first half of the twentieth century. However,
personality traits map poorly to successful leaders, and this theory has waned. Post war good
leadership was thought to be based more around behaviours. It was out of this that models for
behaviour arose, including Adair s (1973) three circles model (task, team and individual). Truly good
leadership will undoubtedly involve a mixture of nature (or traits) and nurture (behaviours). Current
theory is

Tort And Business Law Essay
Law of Tort and Business Contracts Introduction According to law, tort occurs when a person fails to
observe duty imposed on one by law, to ensure there is no injury to a determinate person. In most
cases, the remedies for a tort are in the form of unliquidated damages for instance different amounts of
compensation, which are determined by the courts of law. The law seeks to compensate the aggrieved
party, unlike the criminal cases where the offenders are punished according to law. However, certain
cases in tort fall both in the civil and criminal law brackets. Examples include assault and battery. The
tort of negligence is addressed in this article, because of its influence compared to the other torts of
law. The liability attracted by negligence comes from a basis of duty to practice reasonable care
(Geistfeld, 2011, pg 144). First case analysis: Rare Plants Limited In the first scenario of the case, an
elderly/disabled member of a coach party slips on a pathway and breaks a leg. After the accident, the
member spends time in hospital (8 weeks) and suffers considerable pain during treatment. In this case,
the home care is liable to ensure the residents are safe when on the premises. Knowing the premise
users are elderly and disabled, the owner will be liable when it is foreseen or contemplated that the

division into two new cells. The first growth phase is pretty self explanatory: the cell is just beginning
its life and must have time and nourishment to develop its organelles. It is twice the length of the G2
phase and will continue until chemical receptors within the cell clear it through step 2, which is the
checkpoint. This checkpoint is carried out by the cell s chemical receptors and is a way for the cell to
check its surface area and compare that to its volume. If the ratio is where it is supposed to be (these
values vary for each cell type and each organism), then the cell will move on to step 3: Synthesis. Step
3 is when a cell will begin to replicate its genetic information, or chromatids. These chromatids are
bound together by a protein called a centromere and are collectively known as a chromosome. After
the synthesis of genetic information takes place, the cell moves on to stage 4: G2. This phase is where
the cell begins to replicate its organelles so that the newly

In this Context the line managers wants
the attachment title to display as per the document title received by the candidate
make the attachment data consistent in different roles so that selection process becomes easier
2.1 Solution Design
Proposed Approach addresses the above gaps and gives the LM the visibility to select the best talent.
We would require the following code changes to change the URL(Content Server) for the each
document.
For LM the each document link is coming from the Content server and the same link we are passing to
open the attachments and while saving the documents, filename is taking as system id. To over ride
this functionality we used the Link to Action UI element for the attachments.
We created one custom method for the on action button ON_CLICK_ATTACH.
ON_CLICK_ATTACH Method:
1) In this method first we are reading the selected attachment content details and mime types from the
system using the method read_attachment_content()of class

The Economic Impact Of The Industrial Revolution
Our nation has expanded throughout our history, as it has progressed and advanced through and
because of many revolutions, a special one, however had a great economic impact that would forever
change our nation s economic position. The United States has not always been financially secured as a
nation, however, the nation increased in wealth through this major revolution known as the industrial
revolution, as this revolution greatly helped expand the economy of our nation and increased its
economic state. It was also through this increase in wealth, that caused the increase in job
opportunities and in the process contributed to the increase in population, this and the abundance of
resources, as American Ingenuity all helped lead and expand the industrial revolution. As a result, the
industrial revolution impacted the American economy through its advancements in railroads, the rise
in entrepreneurship, and through the impacts that business made as it increased immigration and
urbanization. The industrial revolution began with an individual which decided to step up and
industrialize the world with business methods and entrepreneurship, beginning with Cornelius
Vanderbilt who was into the railroad business. Vanderbilt was the first entrepreneur who began to
expand and shape the economy of America, as his use of the railroads for transportation and oil was an
intelligent beginning to gain the number one title in the business world. However, this led to a
challenger, John D.

Prey By Michael Crichton Summary
For my book report, I decided to choose the book, Prey , by Michael Crichton. This selection teaches
many scientific facts in a story like form. The story Prey , is based in the Nevada desert when
suddenly an experiment goes terribly wrong. Scientist had created nanoparticles, micro robots, to help
people, but instead of these robots helping people, they kill all living objects. To make matters even
worse, all of the micro robots have escaped and humans are its prey. Scientist have tried multiple
times to destroy them, but every procedure has been unsuccessful. With each passing hour, the
nanoparticles become more and more deadly. In this selection, the main character, Jack, is married to a
scientist, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the very beginning of his novel, he talks about how many of us today are not fully grasping the
world s implications. He believes people are not noticing what is truly going on around them today in
nature. Crichton wants us to capture the real meaning of evolution in this story. He wants us to
envision a world where every living plant, insect, and animal species is changing at every instant. The
author wants us to know that whole populations of organisms are rising and falling, shifting and
changing every second of the day. This is called biosphere. Biosphere means that we do not know the
advance consequences of anything that we do. This is because us people either do not know enough or
that the ever changing world responses to our actions in many different ways. Biosphere responds
unpredictably to our actions. The author is saying that we are unaware of what is going on around us.
For example, in the story people were clueless that the robots had escaped and people did not know
how to destroy these dangerous machines. This is just one of the scientific ways the author is trying to
tell us through the

Night By Art Spiegelman
People commonly draw similarities between the relationship of a father and son and that of a man and
their shadow. However, this raises several questions. What is one to do if their shadow becomes larger
than themselves? Or perhaps the shadow no longer resembles the man? Such questions arise in the
memoir Night by Elie Wiesel and the graphic novel MAUS by Art Spiegelman. While no definite
conclusions can be drawn, they act as guidelines in explaining why the family culture that emerges as
a result of Holocaust events deters father son relationships. The Jews all respond differently, causing
such uprooted father son connections and proving that similar religious beliefs do not necessarily
translate to similar decisions in extenuating conditions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elie more openly voices how problematic caring for his father becomes when he gave [his father]
what was left of [his] soup... . The egocentric ideology Elie takes on makes him feel as though [his]
heart was heavy... and makes him aware that [he] was doing it grudgingly (Wiesel 107). Along with a
changed perspective, Artie also develops animosity towards his father upon retelling his story. Any
hope Artie has of rekindling a father son connection is destroyed when he decides in some ways he s
just like the racist caricature of the miserly old jew (Spiegelman 131). Both sons reach the pinnacle of
their point of no return. Elie transitions from feeling he is doing wrong by abandoning his duty to his
father and Artie acknowledges how his father has chosen to let his prior experiences govern his
existence and even the link to his

The Safety Of Military Equipment
Aircraft Loadmaster Many people wonder how military vehicles, cargo, people, and other military
equipment ever made it from one place to another without being seen and how this action is pulled off
so smoothly. If people only knew more about the military, they would be wonderless. The transporting
of military equipment is so unique and detailing that if you re not precise even the smallest mistake
can ruin the entire operation. The loading of the planes are varied depending on the cargo, but wait a
second who loads the planes? This is the job of an Aircraft Loadmaster. They perform multiple
procedures which ensure that the planes are loaded properly so that the passengers make it to their
destination safely, develop a positive outcome from loading an aircraft by taking the procedures
extremely cautiously, and making history. Procedures such as recording the weight of cargo,
determines the amount of cargo and passengers or troops to be loaded and proper placement in aircraft
and computes load and cargo distribution are few of the many essentials of being Air Loadmaster.
First off by pursuing this career you would need a minimum of a high school diploma or a GED with

Cleopatr A Brief Summary Of Savannah s Monkeys
The story that I read was a book about a Doberman dog named Luther. Luther had a best friend named
Cleopatra (she is a monkey) and an owner named Savannah. One day Cleopatra was kidnap and went
missing. Savannah was worried about her monkey, but also worried about Luther because he got really
depressed, he knew Cleopatra was gone. Savannah asked her friends Ben, and Griffin to help her look
for Cleopatra, but all they could find was a weird looking banana. The very next day their class went
on a field trip to a floating zoo. When Savannah walked into the zoo, the first thing that caught her eye
was a monkey that looked exactly like Cleopatra. Savannah, Ben, and Griffin ran to the monkey cage.
On the bottom it spelled ELENOR printed in bold. Savannah was so furious. She went to go talk to the
manager. And his name was Mr. Nastase. She knew for a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the zoo they broke into it and put the sorted animals were they belonged. Savannah, Griffin, and Ben
all could not do this without their friends. The moment lasted until Mr. Nastase showed up with a
tranquilizer gun in his hand. Then Griffin stood up and said You will never find all your animals they
are all spread out in the zoo. Then Mr. Nastase laughed and said I do not want the old animals I am
going to go shopping for new and better ones IN THIS ZOO. Savannah knew what that meant, turned
off the lights and called the police. They got there Mr. Nastase somehow was getting chased by baby
alligators. Once the police got Mr. Nastase they arrested him of not only sneaking into the zoo but also
stealing the animals he had on his zoo boat. As for the kids they got sent home with their parents.
Their parents were more happy than angry at the kids. The animals got to stay at the zoo and Mr.

Herpes Essay example
Herpes
Herpes is one of the common of more than 30 different sexually transmitted diseases (STD s) in
America today. Herpes is an infection that is caused by one of two closely related viruses, herpes
simplex virus type 1 (HSV 1) and herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV 2). Both of which are very easily
caught, have similar symptoms, and can occur on different parts of the body. Even though it is most
common to see the virus HSV 1 appear as oral herpes and to see the virus HSV 2 appear as genital
herpes.
Most often herpes is a relatively harmless disease that is rarely life threatening. The most common
form of herpes is oral herpes and usually shows up on the lips or inside of the mouth as cold sores or
fever blisters . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Very severe outbreaks may have symptoms that include swollen and tender lymph glands in the groin,
throat, or under the arms, and even flu like feelings such as fever, chills, headache, and a general run
down feeling.
The spread of herpes may be attributed to a variety of activities ranging from touching and kissing to
more intimate activities such as vaginal, anal, or oral intercourse. The time when the virus is most
likely to be spread is when the sores, such as cold sores or fever blisters, are open and weeping, during
this time the virus may be spread from one partner to another or from one part of the body to another.
Although the chance of getting genital herpes from an infected partner whom has no symptoms are
only about 10 out of every hundred or 10 percent. It is unlikely, however, that contact with toilet seats,
moist towels or similar objects spread herpes. The most commonly infected areas are moist areas of
the mouth, anus, vulva, vagina, penis, or the eyes.
Even though herpes in many cases is easily spread between two individuals, it is definitely possible to
prevent the spreading of herpes to others. There are usually early warning signs before a breakout
occurs such as tingling, burning, and itching where sores were before. These warning signs may start a
few hours or even a day before the sores flare up. At first sight of any warning signs, all sexual contact
should be stopped and

Real Life Kermit: New Discovery of Glass Frog
A glass frog that closely resembles Kermit the Frog has been found! Hyalinobatrachium dianae was
recently found in the tropical wet forests and premontane rainforests in Costa Rica by researchers
from the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center in April 2015. H. dianae is a type of glass frog that
belongs to the genus Hyalinobatrachium and the family Centrolenidae, which consists of about 150
different glass frog species. Senior researcher Dr. Brian Kubicki named the glass frog in honor of his
mother, Janet Diane Kubicki, who passionately supported natural history, fishes and amphibians.
Today, a very small population of H. dianae can be found at elevations between 400 800 meters in
Central and South America. H. dianae has the unique ability to show its internal organs through

dianae. This educational display will make the knowledge of rainforests and frogs easily accessible. In
addition, the inclusion of R. temporaria will provide the visitors with extra educational information
about the most common and familiar frog species in the biodiversity.
The display will be strategically placed near the entrance of a tropical rainforest exhibit concerning
rainforest preservation and animal conservation. The display of the new discovery of H. dianae is used
to trigger visitors to think seriously and be concerned about the tropical rainforest ecology, diversity,
and conservation. The most important lesson is that it is crucial to save the remarkable tropical
rainforest, and the present existing and future new discovered beautiful species before they become
extinct.

  • 2. Essay on Terrorism and the Economy Many investigations and research have been done in an effort to discover and defend against terrorism. Through my research I have discovered a plethora of literature that confirms this notion. This review will focus primarily on two different aspects that work coherently to frame the big picture of our nation s Achilles heel, better known as the southwestern border. These two aspects are: Muslim extremist targeted recruits and how the United States economy is intertwined. The selection of literature that I have compiled is contextually different, because they are used for various other reasons. My purpose here is to extrapolate pertinent findings and utilize them to reinforce the importance of managing our southwestern border and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a nation it is essential that we use what we gather and combine with what we have already learned from history to grow. You may wonder, How can Middle Eastern terrorist organizations use the ease of access of the southwestern U.S. border to launch a major, successful attack? Before considering Al Qaeda s operational tactics, it is equally important to take a look at recruiting methods and targets. I will analyze Targeting the Poor: How Al Qaeda Would Recruit from Latin America by Freddy Paniagua. The U.S. Department of State and experts on terrorism have suggested that the poor are a potential source of recruits for political and Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organizations (Paniagua 2006, 1). In this publication, Paniagua uses Bayat s classification to explain the dynamics of the poor of Latin America. Paniagua shows how Bayat argues that the passive poor will typically be content with their way of life and continue to struggle to survive. The political poor utilize the political process to their perceived advantage by voting for the party they fell is able to alleviate the burdens of poverty. Regarding the resisting poor, they typically strive for the opposition of the political and social system. The resisting poor may even resort to radical behavior to remove the current powers. The current situation in Syria is a great example of the resisting poor. Lastly, the surviving poor who resort to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So, getting the dog to cooperate a little bit should be the first thing you do. Try to figure out ways to get them excited and playful. Explore activities that encourage strong bonds and build trust. (Marie, Rachel: The Secret To Motivating An Unmotivated Dog) Spend time discovering new place and new experiences with your dog. ( Marie, Rachel: The Secret To Motivating An Unmotivated Dog). Even giving the dog your approval of something can motivate them. Because it lets them know that they are able to do what they would like to without getting in trouble first. Giving a dog food isn t always the answer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dog would be fearful that they would get yelled at, grabbed, shaken, or even smacked. Times since then have definitely changed and now, we use toys, treats, etc. Before, we motivated our dogs to avoid being bad. ( Pippa:How To Motivate Your Dog) We now use motivators that the dogs want, rather than what they are afraid of. Respect (although sounds like it would be a good motivator) is really only a show of fear from dog to owner. The dog is afraid that they will get yelled at for correction or there will be some kind of disapproval. Respect from the dog is a powerful tool, it s just not a very useful/sufficient tool. However, some of the most powerful working motivators include food no surprise there but that is what dogs love most. Long ago, dogs used to have to hunt in order to get their food. Since they have evolved from wolves, that behavior is still in them, so really a dog will do anything to get the food you offer them. Controlling the motivation tool, though, is useful for the owner when trying to train the dog. It helps with behavior and it gives you a clue on what they ll act like when they re older. Since a treat is the ultimate motivator, it keeps the dog in check. So ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is just your usual English word and I guess the meaning is what scares most people. It is dead the unknown the mysterious and so on. In the old days in the American west or Wild west there was a man who was considered to be one of the greatest gunfighters. His name was Wild Bill Hickok and he met with death in Deadwood, South Dakota. There we have it perhaps he should never have gone to a town with a name like that. His full name was James Butler Wild Bill Hickok and he came into this world in 1837 in the state of Illinois in the U.S. He first got notoriety as a gunfighter in 1861 when without any difficulty he shot three men who were trying to kill him. Religious Conflict in Russia RELIGIOUS CONFLICT IN RUSSIA One of the great ironies of history is that Marxism, an atheistic theory, was first implemented in Russia—a land inhabited by millions of believers practicing most of the world s great religions. In fact, religion is so integral to the culture and history of Russia, it would be impossible to gain a full understanding for the unique character of the country and its people without a careful examination of the religious factors at play throughout its history. In terms of languages, Russian is the common official language throughout the Federation, understood by 99 percent of its current inhabitants and widespread in many adjacent areas of Asia and Eastern Europe. However, national subdivisions of Russia have additional official languages, further reflecting the diverse ethnicity of the country. As a result, there are more than 100 languages spoken throughout the nation, most tied to the particular ethnic groups from which they sprang. Economics and Education Perhaps the most significant impact of the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 has been the economic chaos which subsequently consumed the country. For five years following the collapse, Russia saw its comparatively developed centrally planned economy contract severely. It was not until 1997 that Russia began to show signs of recovery as a result of its new open market policies. Since that time, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country has grown by an average of 6.7 percent per year, largely on the back of oil exports, as well as a steadily developing service and industrial output. Currently, Russia s GDP by purchasing power parity (PPP) is approximately $1.5 trillion, making it the ninth largest economy in the world and the fifth largest in Europe. That is why basketball fans like to compare great players of different times, like Jordan and James. This particular topic is almost the stepping stone for all other debates. These players are very often compared by sports media. For example, this Sports Illustrated article describes a scene in new movie Bad Teacher where the main character has a quick argument over LeBron and MJ with a student, a teacher and a middle school student arguing about Michael Jordan and LeBron James. It is the truest sports scene I ve seen in a long while. It s about me. I have become a grumpy old man, a bad teacher. I cannot even listen to the Jordan versus LeBron arguments (Posnanski). Some individuals may be born with a greater propensity towards leadership, but even these individuals must take advantage of leadership experiences in order to hone their skills. The Bible gives us examples of men and women who appeared to be unlikely leaders, but were molded by God to guide God s people in times of need. Moses the murderer led the Israelites to the Promised Land and David the adulterer became the greatest king of Israel (Exodus 2 Samuel). What set these men apart was not their genius, speaking ability or military prowess but rather their dependence on God. The kings that followed David failed to ensure that Israel remained faithful to the Lord and this resulted in the division of the kingdom and exile of the nation (1 2 Kings). Christian leaders of today can look to the example of Moses and David to encourage perseverance and commitment to following God s leading. • 12. Review Of How To Read Literature Like A Professor Chapter 10 Journal Entry 6: Chapter 10 of How to Read Literature Like a Professor is called Never Stand Next to the Hero. This chapter claims that character s deaths are important plot devices. Foster made a great point of saying how readers become emotionally attached to characters in books. He makes to point that characters aren t real people. They re not people because they have never existed. I mean, have you ever met one on the street? Characters are simply an outline made by the author and the reader coloring in that outline to make the character what they want it to be. Foster also pushed the point across that the main character can t ever die in the beginning or middle of the book. If the main character dies, what s the point of the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And Other Ironies . This chapter s claim is Irony trumps everything. What Foster means by this is that trumping everything, irony doesn t eliminate other layers of meaning. Rather, irony relies on these other layers of meaning: symbolic, archetypal, intertextual, or otherwise and then overthrows them by converting them into the ironic mode. In Animal Farm a lot of dramatic irony takes place. The animals think that they remember Major s words that had become the Seven Commandments, but their illiteracy causes them to be unsure. The animals never had to deal with human beings, never had to engage in trade, and they never had to make use of money. All the animals remembered passing such resolutions (or at least they thought they did.) The reader doesn t forget what the original rules were and even if that happened they could go back in the story and look for themselves, while the animals in the book couldn t. The animal s forgetfulness is an example of dramatic irony. Dramatic irony gives the reader information that one or more of the characters does not know, thereby, creating incongruous dialogue. Illiteracy becomes a problem for the animals again when they cheerfully bid Boxer, the hardworking horse, goodbye, thinking that he is going to a veterinary hospital for treatment. The animals crowded round the van. Good bye, Boxer! they chorused, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A light breeze ruffled bright green leaves in the trees. There was not a cloud in the sky. It was the perfect summer day. I rode my bike over to Matthew Lange s house. We found ourselves in his garage messing with his airsoft guns. We grabbed them and went around the neighborhood looking for Cal and Will to have a war. Cultural Impacts Of Globalization ABSTRACT Globalization can be defined as a system of interaction or increasing global relationships between cultures, people, and economic activities among the countries of the world. Globalization in its simpler form refers to conglomerate exchange of languages, ideas, and cultures. Behaviour or impacts of Globalization differ from country to country having a demarcation between developed countries like Britain and developing countries. Some critics allege that it has been footing down the cultural values and increasing conflicts between two nations. Globalization is a double edged sword as it impacts and affects all generations of people, economically, politically, environmentally, and culturally. While Globalization has its benefits millions of people around the world are now more empowered because of global interconnectedness there are still many problems that can and already have risen from cultural and economic development around the world KEYWORDS: globalisation, environment, opportunity. • 17. Blue Black Boy Analysis The Power of a Picture One of the most intriguing and influential images included in Citizen by Claudia Rankine is the image entitled Blue Black Boy. Blue Black Boy is a visual work of art created by Carrie Mae Weems in 1990 s; Weems is a very successful female African American artist. Through a close reading of the image, I was able to derive meaning out of the various aspects that work together to create such an eloquent work of art. In its formal aspects, Blue Black Boy has several important ingredients that lead to its overall meaning. To start, the first thing I noticed is the vibrant white shirt the African American boy is wearing; it really stuck out to me and was brought into the foreground of the image. This immediately connected with ideas mentioned earlier in Rankine s book, _______ (Rankine __). The white shirt as with the white background make the subject stand out and a ripe target for scrutiny. Another very intriguing aspect of the image is the words under each of the sequential identical pictures of the boy. Under the first picture is the word blue with the others being black and boy respectively. I believe Weems is implying how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Charles Darwin s Chapter Summary In this chapter, Darwin believed that variation is mostly due to reproduction and not environmental aspects and use of habits, like most scientists recognized. Meanwhile, he states that the extensive use of certain organs has made special body parts come to be. He supports his point by comparing the legs of a ducks that walks and the wings of a duck that fly. In reproduction, particular variations are passed down to an offspring by a parent, which are continued in following generations to come. This is the reason why sometimes it later animals or plants offspring, there it certain extraordinary traits that show up again. Graph 1: Word frequency in the British Lexicon of leadership and clinical (Google 2015) Graph 2: Word frequency in the British Lexicon of clinical leadership (Google 2015) Clinical leadership as a term grew out of opposition to New Public Management (Hood 1991) and the corporatisation of health services in the 1970s to 1990s. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Organisations are doing more to foster it, with some success, but barriers remain. Background Leadership is often juxtaposed against management. In classical business teaching, Kotter (2001, reprint p4) defines the difference: Management is about coping with complexity. Leadership (by contrast) is about coping with change. Leadership is more commonly distributed across all organisational levels, and leaders are seen as those who empower others to significantly improve organisation performance. Managers are those involved in performance monitoring, target setting, and most importantly with the operational oversight of employees. They organise resources and maintain stability. This is a large field, but for current purposes we accept that, though there is overlap, Kotter s definition serves to highlight a valid distinction. Leadership as a term has differing meanings through time. The influence of Great Man theories stem form the socio politico models prevalent in much of the first half of the twentieth century. However, personality traits map poorly to successful leaders, and this theory has waned. Post war good leadership was thought to be based more around behaviours. It was out of this that models for behaviour arose, including Adair s (1973) three circles model (task, team and individual). Truly good leadership will undoubtedly involve a mixture of nature (or traits) and nurture (behaviours). Current theory is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Tort And Business Law Essay Law of Tort and Business Contracts Introduction According to law, tort occurs when a person fails to observe duty imposed on one by law, to ensure there is no injury to a determinate person. In most cases, the remedies for a tort are in the form of unliquidated damages for instance different amounts of compensation, which are determined by the courts of law. The law seeks to compensate the aggrieved party, unlike the criminal cases where the offenders are punished according to law. However, certain cases in tort fall both in the civil and criminal law brackets. Examples include assault and battery. The tort of negligence is addressed in this article, because of its influence compared to the other torts of law. The liability attracted by negligence comes from a basis of duty to practice reasonable care (Geistfeld, 2011, pg 144). • 21. Cell Life Cycle Essay Healthy cells within living organisms are constantly undergoing a process that is marked by change called the life cycle of the cell. While every species is different, all cells within them follow close to the same pattern of life and division. As listed in the table above, the steps of the cell life cycle are marked by 1. The first growth phase, 2. A developmental checkpoint, 3. The synthesis of genetic information, 4. A second growth phase, 5. Another developmental checkpoint, and 6. Mitosis, or division into two new cells. The first growth phase is pretty self explanatory: the cell is just beginning its life and must have time and nourishment to develop its organelles. It is twice the length of the G2 phase and will continue until chemical receptors within the cell clear it through step 2, which is the checkpoint. This checkpoint is carried out by the cell s chemical receptors and is a way for the cell to check its surface area and compare that to its volume. If the ratio is where it is supposed to be (these values vary for each cell type and each organism), then the cell will move on to step 3: Synthesis. Step 3 is when a cell will begin to replicate its genetic information, or chromatids. These chromatids are bound together by a protein called a centromere and are collectively known as a chromosome. After the synthesis of genetic information takes place, the cell moves on to stage 4: G2. This phase is where the cell begins to replicate its organelles so that the newly ... • 26. Night By Art Spiegelman People commonly draw similarities between the relationship of a father and son and that of a man and their shadow. However, this raises several questions. What is one to do if their shadow becomes larger than themselves? Or perhaps the shadow no longer resembles the man? Such questions arise in the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel and the graphic novel MAUS by Art Spiegelman. While no definite conclusions can be drawn, they act as guidelines in explaining why the family culture that emerges as a result of Holocaust events deters father son relationships. The Jews all respond differently, causing such uprooted father son connections and proving that similar religious beliefs do not necessarily translate to similar decisions in extenuating conditions. ...
