The Environmental Technology Program At S.a.i.t
The program that I have chosen to study is the Environmental technology program at S.A.I.T
and this is important not because I want to shut down all the dirty energy companies that work
in the oil and gas or coal sector but because I want to make them better and more sustainable so
that the resources will last longer. More people should think this way because the world needs
these companies to survive and it would be economic suicide to shut just oil and gas down, look
at what is happening right now and it is only a downturn. But if new technology is created and
new methods are put into place, then what is now seen as the worst form of energy,
environmentally it can be seen as something that is more sustainable with less of an
environmental impact. This is what my program focuses on, how to reduce waste and how to
treat the waste that is created, so when it is either released back into the environment or there is
a spill or leak that it will not be as harmful. The environmental technology program will help get
more women into the science field which will then advance them in the working world. This
program will draw women in because it can be seen less threatening than say a petroleum

Motivations are powerful means to direct one s life and to provide a purpose, however these
motivations can come at a price to those whom are close them. The authors of each short story
support this idea by giving the characters of each story a motivation that inspires them to improve
their lives at the cost of the wellbeing of themselves or other individuals. Each character made
conscious attempt to obtain what desire most; with a motivationas the primary source that dictates
what they do.
In the story, A Pair of Silk Stockings, by Kate Chopin, Mrs. Sommers comes into the possession
of the modern equivalent of 400 dollars. This becomes the prime motivation for Mrs. Sommers
shopping spree over purchasing items her family desperately needs. Mrs. Sommers is left to
balance desires of wealth and luxury and responsibilities as a mother and wife; only to succumb
to her deepest desires in the form of silk stockings. Mrs. Sommers loses control as she gave into
the temptation that she could not move in the direction of the bargain counter ; she only worries
about herself and the day of luxury her funds could afford her. Just as quickly as she spent
money, she also forgot the plans in her mind she had the night prior on how she seemed her way

sex without love. The speaker in the poem has a difficulty understanding why two people would
want to have sex without being in love. In the first two lines of the poem, the speaker says, how do

When I enter into the creaky hundred year old house I see mice sneaking nibbles from leftover
cookies that were made last year. As I drop my luggage to the floor dust fills the room. I realize
that I should probably clean the house before I start unpacking. After I clean and unpack I go back
outside to collect some firewood. While I am out there I get blinded by the sun that is reflecting off
of the snow and I almost fall into the flowing river. It isn t quite frozen over yet and the water
splashes softly into the ice that is forming. As I walk back to the house with the wood that I have
collected I see deer bound up to the river and start drinking. I stop, mesmerized by their beauty. The
stiff fur that surrounds them shines in the sun as they drink the bitter cold water. I decide to leave
them alone and trot back to the house.

it has been over shadowed by the positive memories formed within the building. Imagery is used
throughout the poem to continually convey the theme. All of the images that Wordsworth
portrays lead to the same conclusion. Each image that Wordsworth creates in the poem is of a
confined space. However, the subject of the image is never trying to flee from this place. In
many instances they are drawn towards these compact spaces. All because of the same general
