Pros And Cons Of Gun Control Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "Pros and Cons of Gun Control" presents a multifaceted
challenge, demanding a delicate balance between presenting well-researched information and
navigating the often polarized perspectives surrounding the issue. The complexity lies in the
need to analyze and articulate the merits and drawbacks of various gun control measures,
considering both historical context and contemporary debates.
One hurdle is the abundance of information available, ranging from statistical data to legal
precedents and personal anecdotes. The task requires sifting through this wealth of material to
select credible sources that represent diverse viewpoints. Striking the right balance is crucial to
presenting an unbiased and comprehensive view of the subject.
Moreover, the emotionally charged nature of the gun control debate adds another layer of
difficulty. It is essential to approach the topic with sensitivity, acknowledging the deeply
ingrained beliefs and values associated with the issue. Addressing the emotional aspect without
succumbing to bias requires careful language choices and a nuanced understanding of the
perspectives involved.
In addition, the constantly evolving nature of gun control legislation and public opinion means
that staying current with the latest developments is imperative. Keeping abreast of changes in
laws, societal attitudes, and recent incidents is vital for providing an up-to-date and relevant
analysis.
Despite these challenges, a well-crafted essay on the pros and cons of gun control can contribute
to fostering informed discussions. By navigating the complexities with diligence and respect for
opposing viewpoints, one can create an essay that not only educates but also encourages critical
thinking and open dialogue on this contentious issue.

Essay On Year Round School
Once a student enters the building on their first day of school they long await
summer break. Yet, districts around the nation are changing that, instead of giving a
two and a half summer vacation, they are asking students to go to school instead. This
is a controversial issue because some parents agree with the decision, while others
don t. Instead of vacations and lying around at home during summer break, students
will be given more textbooks, homework and tests. Although they do attend school
throughout summer break, they do get periods of time off throughout the school year
which gives them a break. The government should apply the year round schooling
method in our district because cost is not much of an issue, it helps teachers, and the

This is significant because the children in schools are our future generation that will
help cure diseases, land on different planets and create world peace but, they first
have to start off with a great education and year round schooling provides that. A way
you can help make this mission possible is to spread the word in your community
and persuade educators that year round schooling is the best option for students. Let
the future be filled with amazing inventions created by
Building Concrete Structures Of Building Solid Stone...
Materials like tile covered concrete quickly supplanted marble as the primary
building material and more daring buildings soon followed, with great pillars
supporting broad arches and domes rather than dense lines of columns suspending
flat architraves. Concrete also inspired the colonnade screen, a row of ornamental
columns in front of a load bearing wall. For smaller buildings, concrete s strength
freed the floor plan from rectangular cells to a more free flowing environment.
Most of these developments are described by Vitruvius writing in the first century
AD in his work De Architectura. Ancient Roman concrete was a mixture of lime
mortar, sand with stone rubble, pozzolana, water, and stones, and stronger than
previously used concrete. The ancient builders placed these ingredients in wooden
frames where it hardened and bonded to a facing of stones or (more frequently)
bricks. Concrete construction proved to be more flexible and less costly than
building solid stone buildings. The materials were readily available and not difficult
to transport. The wooden frames could be used more than once, allowing builders to
work quickly and efficiently. On return from campaigns in Greece, the general Sulla
returned with what is probably the most well known element of the early imperial
period: the mosaic, a decoration of colorful chips of stone inset into cement. This
tiling method took the empire by storm in the late first century and the second
century and in the Roman home joined
Delia Jones Quotes In Sweat
Zora Neale Hurston portrays Delia Jones as a hardworking Christian woman who
is a washwoman for white people in the South. Delia is a washerwoman fighting to
keep her house and her sanity ( Sweat ). She takes great pride in her job even when
her husband insists on her stopping. In the short story her husband demands her to
quit her job. He calls her a hypocrite for doing the wash of the white after she has
just attended church. When Delia is not fazed by his words and continues washing
the clothes, he becomes very angry and ruins the clothes she put so much time into.
He stepped roughly upon the whitest pile of things, kicking them helter skelter as he
crossed the room. His wife gave a little scream of dismay, and quickly gathered them

The bullwhip represents Sykes s power over Delia. It s an illusion to the main
symbol in which Delia is most terrified of, the snake. On a Sunday, as she washes,
she is confronted by something that reminds her of the snake, which scares her. It is
actually her husband s whip (Jones). In this part of the novel, Sykes places the whip
on Delia s shoulder to affirm his dominance. A great terror took hold of her. It
softened her knees and dried her mouth so that it was a full minute before she could
cry out or move (Hurston 1). This shows the effects of the whip on Delia and how
powerless she

A Critical Analysis of Michael Jordan and the New Global Capitalism
In the history of business, there has been a clear record of industry heads finding
something or someone as a mainstay and bedrock for their respective companies or
corporations; there is often a chief product that keeps many businesses afloat, even
in the rough times. Apple found it s own in 2001 with the iPod. McDonald s has
had the Big Mac since the late 1960s. Nike, however, found their goldmine in a
person with Michael Jordan. Walter LaFeber s Michael Jordan and the New Global

Stemming away from Jordan personally, it also touches on how the expansion of
Nike created issues with regard to race by way of cultural and value based analysis
of black culture and effect that the Air Jordan shoe had on its people. One example
of which is shown from the black on black crime that ensued as a result of the
marketing of the Air Jordan in the 1990s. Significance in the arena black business
is also evident. Obvious significance is shown from the growth of the business of
Michael Jordan himself. It shows how a single man can amass wealth starting one
dimensionally as a person with extraordinary athletic talent and transitioning into
one who takes the reigns as the leader of his own division of a transnational
corporation while still working to his own and his brand s marketability. It s also
subtly important to show how the Nike product also spiked the dollar seen by
inner city В‘mom and pop athletic apparel stores, mostly black owned. Chapter 4
touches on the effect of the Air Jordan on inner cities, both good and bad, and even
though there was crime and drug money involved with the sales of Air Jordans, it
is still hard to ignore the increase of money that resulted as well. Lastly, LaFeber s
book provides informational significance of the expansion of global capitalism in
the late 20th and early 21st centuries. It not only shows how Nike became the worlds
largest company in sports apparel but also how the Chicago Bulls organization

Change Management Strategies For New Merged Company
For this merger to create a new culture, these artifacts need to encompass and be
reflective of the new merged company, without favor to one or the other. Though
removal and replacement of these artifacts may be difficult for some to grasp, while
doing so, by introducing consistent rewards and recognition can be one of the first
new artifacts, and can fill the void and keep focus forward, versus looking back to
the past. Strong new programs also encourage if not promote further communication,
and help build a supportive work environment that will foster a working network of
colleagues.
One last note as to artifacts; although founders, leaders, and company stories are
valued artifacts, so are the people working here and now. Celebrate those with the
new merged company; create new stories with new events, programs, and by starting
new traditions for the organization. This gives an identity to the new organization,
creates the new culture, and begins establishing organizational socialization.
5.Change Management Strategy.
The most appropriate set of change management strategies to use for implementing
change would be an appreciative inquiry approach. A merging of two companies
creates a plethora of unknowns for all; the unknown is a strong threat to all that
perceive it. Reframing the image of merging into a positive strength for all is more
palatable, if not approachable for most. Appreciative inquiry typically examines
successful events, organizations, and work units.

Why the Bolsheviks Won the Civil War Essay
Why the Bolsheviks Won the Civil War The Russian Civil War raged from 1918 until
the start of 1921. During this time the Bolsheviks faced massive opposition to their
rule in the form of the White Armies, led by the former officers of the Tsarist state,
and also from intervention by the forces of foreign countries. The Bolsheviks were
surrounded, and often outnumbered by their opponents, and had no experienced
military commanders. At times, their situation seemed hopeless. Yet, by the start of
1921, the Bolsheviks had defeated their enemies and gained a complete victory. The
establishment of Communism in Russiawent ahead unchallenged.

No one person was in charge of the White forces, whereas the Bolsheviks had Lenin,
the Whites had several rival people, such as Yudenich, Wrangel, Kolchak and Denikin
vying for control. They were all ambitious men and each was determined to take
control of Russia for himself. As a result, there was virtually no co operation between
the various White Armies. They had to move their forces and supplies over huge
distances, making it difficult to maintain effective control. The lack of effective
railways was an added complication to the existing communication difficulties
between them. Whereas the Whites were disunited, the Bolsheviks maintained
absolute unity through the Terror. It was this skilled leadership of the Red Army
,
paired with the divided leadership of the White Forces that was a key factor in the
Bolsheviks winning the Civil War.
A second reason why the Bolsheviks won the Civil War was geography. In 1918,
the start of the Civil War, the Bolsheviks had the advantage of holding a central
position between Petrograd and Moscow (including their factories.) Most of Russia
s railways were in this area, making communication between various battlefronts
much easier, Trotsky was able to move troops and supplies rapidly to areas under
attack. The Red Armies were in possession

My Cultural Symbol
Throughout the world there are many holidays that connect with people s culture.
Since you live your daily life in the same culture you may not notice that you have
certain ways or traditions of doing things. For me Christmas has large role in my
culture. It has a specific meaning to me and my family, it helps us connect with one
another while enjoying family favorite recipes.
One element during Christmas that is significantly important is the food. Everyone
brings a different dish, some bring dessert while others bring meals for dinner. My
favorite dish to eat on Christmas is pozole. It is a soup/stew that contains hominy
beans, pork, chicken or beef, and you can choose if you want it plain or with green

other dishes that we eat are stuffed turkey or ham, once every few years we will

forever to cook and prepare. My grandma, the tamale making expert, is the one
who make the tamales. I like to help her prepare them because it gives us time to
bond and catch up with each other since we don t see each other often. Hours after
dinner we have dessert. Some of the sweets that we enjoy are pies, rosca de reyes,
and banana pudding. My favorite kind of pie is apple pie, my aunt makes it every

Titration Of An Unknown Solution
A titration is a method to determine the concentration of an unknown solution by
using the known concentration of another solution. An analyte is the concentration of
an unknown solution . A titrant is the concentration of a known solution. The
glassware needed to perform a titration are a buret, a flask, and an indicator of pH
meter. The buret sends the second reactant to the flask. An indicator detects the
endpoint of this reaction. Standardization is the process in which you determine the
concentration of the titrant before performing the titration. One would need to make a
standard solution to be precise, and make sure the titration experiment is being done
correct. The equivalence point is point in the titration when the quantity of titrant is
the right amount for the reaction with the analyte.... Show more content on

You prepare a standard solution by using the M1V1=M2V2 formula, and putting the
information to solve the equation. An indicator is going to have a reaction with
hydroxide ions or hydrogen ions to determine whether the substance is a base or acid.
The role of an indicator in a titration is to determine how many oxygen or hydroxide
ions are in a solution. The laboratory method that is used to titrate an unknown strong
acid solution is a titration. When you drop NaOH ions the OH ions unite with H ions
creating water which leave less H ions in the solution making the solution less acidic.
The more NaOH ions you add the solution will eventually change color due to the
indicator. The data that should be collected during the titration in order to calculate
the concentration of HCl should be the number of moles, the volume of the solution,
and the amount dropped to make the solution less acidic. You calculate the molarity
/ concentration of the unknown HCl solution by using the formula

Harris quoted another author to say, these linguistic and stylistic considerations, when
weighed against the undoubted resemblances between the first 20 chapters and
chapter 21, it offers no sufficient information that would lead one to believe that
chapter 21 was written by any other author. Harris contends that most scholars, do not
make the decision for or against the identity of the authorship based on the stylistic or
linguistic evidence, but rather, that argument is made on the basis of the content or
logical argument flow. Harris uses the knowledge of other scholars regarding chapter
21 of the Gospel of John. He highlights another scholar when viewing the idea if
chapter 21 was just an addendum to the Gospel of John or is it an item of necessity.
He quotes S. Smalley to say this, Smalley demonstrates that chapter 21 is not as
much of an addendum as some believe, and that it does in fact provide a necessary
conclusion to the Fourth Gospel, which does not merely end with the confession by
Thomas, but offer a repetitive emphasis that the disciples will continue the witness of
Jesus even after He has ascended to His Father, in addition to carrying out the mission

Inventory Systems Summary
The principal role of inventory management systems is to ensure that stores are
adequately stocked. Companies use various methods to track and report inventory.
Retail companies are perhaps the best entities to examine when attempting to
understand inventory management systems. The type of inventory a company has
determines the method they use. Retail companies use the retail inventory method as
a base system. Last in First Out (LIFO) and First in First Out (FIFO) are the two
systems that appear to be used more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The high demand in products requires the company to sustain a large inventory;
however unsold products are costly to a company. An ideal situation is to market and
sell products as quick as possible or at least keep a balance of production and the sale
of products as close as possible.
Target Corporation
Target Corporation is a retail organization that specializes in the sales of goods
such as clothing, house wares, small electronics, furniture, music, pharmaceuticals,
toys, and groceries. The company also makes many of its products available on
their online store. Target Corporation uses the retail inventory method (RIM) to
account for inventory. Target uses last in first out (LIFO) method under RIM.
Under RIM, the valuation of inventory at cost and the resulting gross margins are
calculated by applying a cost to retail ratio to the retail value inventory. RIM is an
averaging method that has been widely used in the retail industry due to its
practicality. The use of RIM will result in inventory being valued at the lower of cost
or market since permanent markdowns are currently taken as a reduction of the retail
value of inventory (Target Corporation). The disadvantages to using this method
include: (1) damaged goods may have less value than what the store paid for them ,
(2) changes in market prices
Female Self Sexualization Of The Great Grass Sea,

Daenerys Targaryen of House Targaryen, Queen of the Andals and the First Men,
Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and now Mother of Dragons.
An example for female liberation: encouraging to push harder and dream bigger
for more freedom. She s quiet, humble, and gentle who has been physically,
mentally, and sexually abused by her brother, Viserys who sells her to Khal Drogo,
her now dead husband so he could buy an army of Dothraki. Her ownership then
transfers to Drogo, who repeatedly rapes her before Daenerys learns to assert herself
and manipulate his desire. She had a messed up relationship with him from the
beginning where she was once afraid of him since he was this large, muscular,
intimidating man who didn t speak the common tongue. Eventually, that began to
change when she started growing bolder, taking charge in the bedroom. He begins to
treat her as a real human being who knows what she wants rather than an object.
Female self sexualization perpetuates the genderhierarchy by reinforcing the
patriarchal idea that sex is women s main source of power (Erchull Liss, 2013;
Smolak Murnen, 2011). However, people believe that self sexualization positively
empowers women, for two reasons. First, people learn from their peers that women
are rewarded for using their feminine charms From this perspective, self sexualization
is viewed as a strategy to increase women s personal power, which challenges the
gender hierarchy (Infanger, Rudman, and Sczesny,

imposed by the United States on Cuba. The United States first imposed a trade

Gasoline in Cuba is very scarce, and automobile transportation is not common,
people go in bike or walking either way than in an automobile. Animals are used for
heavy agricultural activities. Over half of Cuba s work force is now unemployed,
although unemployment is officially a crime and is punished with imprisonment.
Although the United States today stands firmly alone in maintaining the embargo, it
must stand firm no matter what, and more this days that Fidel Castro had died.
Maintaining the embargo because Cuba has not accomplished the conditions
required to lift it until irreversible economic and political reforms leading to
democratic capitalism had taken place. The Cuban people must understand and act
that it is up only to them to solve the social, economic, and political crisis caused by
the Castro regime. U.S. taxpayers should no longer be engaging in to finance the
costs of Castro s ceaseless tyranny.
The United States must not abandon by nothing the Cuban people by relaxing or
lifting the trade embargo against the communist regime because they have done
nothing for why the United States should lift it. Instead, the U.S. government must
neglect all pressures to abandon the embargo until all of the objectives for which it
was imposed are achieved! Anything less would create a sad faith with the Cuban

How Do You Respond To His Mother By Langston Hughes
The author, Langston Hughes, is speaking to himself through his Mother s voice.
His point of view was limited since his observation was speaking of one person and
not using I . The tone in the poem is the attitude that children should listen and
learn from their parents for him, it was his Mother. His second line compared life
to a crystal stair. From the surface, you would think what a metaphor what does life
and a crystal stair have any kind of relation to each other? From the Oxford
dictionary, the definition of crystal is a piece of a homogeneous solid substance
having a natural geometrically regular form with symmetrically arranged plane faces.
The key words here are regular , homogeneous , geometrically and symmetrically .

Is the Gilgamesh Flood the Basis of the Biblical Flood?
Genesis of the Old Testament records a worldwide Flood early on in the history of
human civilization. Tablet 11of the Sumero Babylonian version of the epic of
Gilgamesh also records a total Flood of the entire earth very early in mankind s
development. Let s examine the two to determine if one could be the basis for the
other.
Nels M. Bailkey in Readings in Ancient History: Thought and Experience from
Gilganesh to St. Augustine, comments on the likenesses and lack thereof between the
two versions:
The striking similarities with the later Hebrew story are quite evident, but the great
gulf between them needs to be emphasized: the Hebrew version has ... Show more

In the Gilgamesh epic, Utnapishtim is not invested with any royal power or
entrusted with any priestly office; from it we learn simply that he was a citizen of
Shurippak (Tablet XI:23) and a man of considerable wealth (XI:70ff). (227)
N.K. Sandars in the Introduction to his book, The Epic of Gilgamesh, sums up the
involvement by the pagan gods in the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative:
In the Gilgamesh flood Ishtar and Enlil are as usual the advocates of destruction.
Ishtar speaks, perhaps in her capacity as goddess of war, but Enlil prevails with his
weapon of the storm. Only Ea, in superior wisdom, either was not present, or being
present was silent, and with his usual cunning saw to it that at least one of the race of
men should survive. (41)
Column 1 on Tablet 11 begins the Sumero Babylonian Flood narrative (Gardner 226).
The sage Utnapishtim from Shurippak (100 miles south of Babylon), says:
The great gods stirred their hearts to make the Flood.
[. . .] Build an ark.
[. . .] Load the seed of every living thing into your ark,
the boat that you will build.
Let her measure be measured;
let her breadth and length be equal.
Cover it with a roof as the abyss is covered. (Gardner 226)
There is no reason given by Utnapishtim for the deluge. On the contrary, the Judaic
version of the Flood in Genesis states in 6:5 8 a very clear, explicit reason for the
Ebert s Central Station Review
The critique of Ebert s Central Station Review
Central Station is a film directed by Brazilian producer Walter Salles. The film is
portrayed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and its about two characters; a young boy named
Josue and an older woman named Dora. The two characters are on a journey to find
out. The film also shows the drastic change that both Josue and Dora have in their
relationship. Ebert reviews this film with positive vivid language, however,he also
forgets to describe some the majority of the symbolism in the film. Roger Ebert
connects with the film with a very positive mindset. He uses vivid language to
describe the atmosphere in the film as well as many of the characters personality.

Ebert does not mention how any of the cinematographics implement a way in
which the viewer watches and understands the film. For example, in the early
stages of the film, Salles wants the viewer to lament the situation Josue goes
through, almost as if the viewer is a character of the film. Ebert also completely
disregards some of the symbolism implemented in the film. Nowhere in his review
does he write about the significance of the Dora applying lipstick and how that
begins to change her character s personality throughout the film. Not to mention
another character who goes through the dynamic change as Dora in Josue. Josue
hated Dora in the early stages of the film, however, finally gets along with her as the
film moves on, and even calling her pretty when she applies makeup. In the end of
the film, a scene which Josue and Dora in bed talking shows how their relationship
has completely changed throughout the film. To conclude, Ebert completely
disregards the original soundtrack of the film. Depending on which tune was being
played, it really fit into the situation that the movie was on. For example, when Dora
yelled at Josue when they with the pilgrims, a fast but sad tune played in the
background to adjust to the
Hershey s Way Of Making Chocolate
Chocolate is one of the most popular products consumed in the United States and
all around the world. Hershey Chocolate Company originated in 1894, by Milton
Hershey (Hershey Company, 2015). He was the first American who began
producing milk chocolate bars, and eventually created multiple flavors that changed
the chocolate industry forever. With such mass production and success, Hershey
was able to make milk chocolate, a once luxury item for the wealthy, into an
affordable treat for all (Hershey Company, 2015). Hershey s way of making
chocolate is one of a kind. Hershey starts the chocolate making process by importing
cocoa beans from cacao trees found in tropical regions near the equator. Cacao is
ultimately the key ingredient to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The milk is mixed with sugar into a taffy like consistency where it will then be
blended with chocolate liquor. The milk adds the sweet taste and smooth texture
while the chocolate liquor adds the chocolate flavor. By combining chocolate
liquor, milk and sugar it creates a chocolate crumb where it is then ground into a
fine powder to create chocolate paste. The chocolate paste is refined in the
conching machine where it brings out more of the rich chocolate flavor. The final
step to Hershey s chocolate making process is sending the chocolate to the drying
rack where it will be cooled, wrapped and distributed all around the world for
consumption. For the S mores taste test, four different types of Hershey chocolate
were used to conduct the experiment. There are multiple differences between all
four types of Hershey s chocolates and ingredients used to make them. Milk

kisses, etc. Hershey s milk chocolate is very smooth, and even has a little gritty
texture. This chocolate is very sweet and not too chocolaty. Hershey s milk
chocolate contains milk, which gives it a creamy texture, sweet flavor and a light
brown color. Hershey s special dark chocolate is a lot different than milk chocolate
is it is not the most popular flavor Hershey sells. Dark chocolate provides a semi

The City Of Troy And The Trojan War
The Trojan War is a war that took place around c. 1200 BCE and is one of the many
events that contributed to the fall of the Bronze Age. It was a revolutionary war for
its time, yet its existence is questioned by many. Throughout this text I will answer
the question: In your opinion, is the existence of the city of Troyand the Trojan War
real or just a good story (an artistic creation)? I believe in the existence or the city of
Troy as well as the Trojan War because of all the written and archaeological evidence
that has been found on this topic.
First of all, written evidence plays a big part in why I believe the city of Troy and
the Trojan War were real events. The biggest written evidence is the famous poem
Iliad written by Homer which tells the story of the Trojan War through Homer s
eyes. He sees it as a war that began because of a love affair between the kind of
Greece and his wife, a beautiful young woman who fell for the prince of Troy. The
evidence that has been found throughout many years has shown that it was not a
war based on a love affair, but one that began because of desire. The city of Troy
was a very wealthy city found in a very strategic location which attracted civilizations,
therefore, civilizations such as the Mycenaeans wanted to take over. Furthermore,
written tablets are another big piece of evidence when it comes to the Trojan War.
These tablets provided information that archaeologists were looking for to answer the
question: Who fought

Values And Beliefs InInto The Wild, And Henry David
Thoreau
Chris McCandless, from the movie Into the Wild, and Henry David Thoreau
shared similar reasons wanting to leave society, however how they approached life
lead toward Chris s death and Thoreau s success. Thoreau and Chris shared many
of the same values and beliefs. The beliefs and values they share included one
should learn from living life and society damages the individual however, they did
not share similar believes how they planned their lives. First, they place value in
one should learn from living life. Chris was a college graduate and was accepted
into Harvard, he left the whole thing behind so that he could learn from living life.
In many parts of the movie, Chris learns from living, he is convinced the core of
the man s spirit comes from new experiences (Into the Wild). Chris decides he
wants to kayak. He goes into the ranger station to ask about paddling down the
river. The ranger informs him he needs a permit, some experience, and
unfortunately there is a twelve year waiting list. Hearing this from the ranger does
not stand in his way the next morning he is in a kayak, with no care, no life jacket,
no helmet facing the rapids for the first time, learning from the experience. Thoreau
supported Chris s ideas and advocated for individuals to be students of life. In Walden
, Thoreau stated, I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front
only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and
not, when I

many exciting changes academically, spiritually, and emotionally. My aspirations
for the next few years have to do mostly with education. First of all, I strive to
complete my high school requirements for graduation. I also intend to be nearly
finished with my college degree. During this time span, I hope to be a part of the
Disney College Program located in Orlando, Florida. The unique program is
designed for college students who have a passion and respect for the Walt Disney

of the company for six months to a year providing invaluable work experience.
Even though I will most likely have to take a full year off from my college classes
to participate in the Disney College Program, it should not delay my graduation
because I will have completed two years of dual enrollment in high school. As the
career I am pursuing is a branch of the Disney Company, this early exposure to the
company will hopefully jump start my career. I plan to acquire a Bachelors degree
with a major in communications at an American school abroad in France. This

California Embezzlement Essay
For the purposes of their jobs, people in California, and throughout the U.S., are often
responsible for managing or monitoring the assets or property of others. Should they
use those funds in a way that was unauthorized or for their own personal gain,
however, they may be charged with embezzlement. When handling others funds and
property, there is a fine line between what is permitted and what could be construed
as theft. Therefore, it may behoove people to understand what constitutes
embezzlement, and the potential penalties that may accompany a conviction.
Recently, San Jose Mercury News reported that a 39 year old woman was charged
with embezzlement. It is alleged that the woman used company credit cards to pay
for various personal items, vehicles and trips. She is also accused of using
company checks to pay her rent and give herself unauthorized bonuses and overtime.

The California state penal code defines embezzlement as fraudulently appropriating
funds or property by those who have been entrusted with it. In basic terms, this is the
theft of assets by someone who has been granted access or oversight over the said
assets. The most common form of this charge is the misappropriation of funds,
according to the Legal Information Institute.
For example, a person grants his or her finance manager access to his or her financial
accounts. The finance manager is meant to take a set amount of funds out of these
accounts and invest them. However, instead of investing the exact amount specified,
the account manager retains a portion for his or herself. This often constitutes

Supernatural Elements In Macbeth
It is not often that Shakespeare coming alive on the big screen makes it any better,
but Justin Kurzel managed in Macbeth (2015) to both be true to the classic and
contribute with his own modern twist, both technically and plotwise.
Shakespeare can be interpreted in many different ways. Justin Krezel has chosen a
very modern interpretation, which tries to make Macbeth s actions more clearly

Case Study Of Ipo In Airtel
Objective: To study the Initial Public Offering of Bharti Infratel Ltd. Critically
examine the success rate of the IPO and evaluate the stock performance since list date.
Abstract: The paper examines the IPO of Bharti Infratel Ltd., one of the top ten
IPOs by amount of capital raised in Indian history. The IPO is also interesting to
study as Bharti Infratel is one of the first telecom tower and infrastructure provider
companies in India and GTL Ltd. is the only other Indian company in this sector to
have gone public till date. The scope of the paper is to understand the rationale
behind raising capital with respect to internal factors as well as industry specific

Rationale for Bharti Infratel Ltd. IPO:
The Company was established in July 2007, as a spin off from Airtel, to provide
tower infrastructure services to telecom players in the market.
Strategy: The Company was looking at expanding its tower business to cater to not
only Airtel but also other players and hence needed to raise capital for the huge
capital expenditure required for building its tower infrastructure.
Industry Factors: Indian telecom network is the second largest in the world after
China. India has 864.72 Million wireless telephone connections and a tele density of
73.34% as on December 2012. (Dept. of Telecom, Government of India, 2012 2013)
The Company is expected to benefit from the increase in penetration of voice and
data services in India, which will drive the telecom companies demand for
additional towers. The tenancy ratio is expected to increase as telecom players roll
out 3G/4G on 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz bands.
Network expansion by India s leading telecom majors Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and
Idea Cellular Ltd will work in Bharti Infratel s favour. Large scale operations, first
mover advantage and pool sharing arrangement among the top three telecom majors
is expected to improve Bharti Infratel s operating leverage and

All non smokers exercised regularly and most of the subjects in both groups did not

The heart rate was expected to increase during exercise for smokers. However, the
average heart rate at peak work rate for smokers was 170 beats per minute, while
for non smokers the average heart rate was about 179 beats per minute. According
to the p value of .333, there was no significant difference between the average heart
rates for these two groups. Similarly, the p value of .674 indicates that there is no
significant difference for average stroke volume at peak work rates between the two
groups. Based on a study conducted between healthy smokers and non smokers, the
smokers had a higher heart rate during exercise than non smokers [7]. The results
don t support the hypothesis as well as the study due to the subjects chosen. The
smokers that participated in this study exercised regularly, and some exercised
between 5 10 hours a week. Therefore, these athletic smokers might on average have
a lower heart rate than normal, which might have reduced the effects of smoking in
general. By exercising consistently every week, the left ventricle in the heart begins
to thicken and becomes more muscular. As the cavity of the heart enlarges, the heart
can hold more blood and therefore during each contraction the heart can pump more
blood with each beat. As a result, a lower heart rate becomes sufficient to deliver
blood throughout the body

How Television Has Affected America
Around the world, The United States is widely known as a leader in mass media

affected America as much as the television. Before 1947, the number of TV s in the

Television sales were started in the late 1940s,after they started appearing in the
largest cities. TV ownership was originally a big city thing. Of the 102,000 TV

The Trail of Evidence From Treatment To Causes of
Depression
The Trail of Evidence From Treatment To Causes of Depression
When a person is depressed, the primary characteristic is a subjective awareness of
mood change: the person has an ongoing feeling of sadness or emptiness. This feeling
is often accompanied by eating disturbances, feelings of hopelessness, inability to
concentrate, indecisiveness, sleep disturbances, lost interest in enjoyable activities,
psychomotor retardation, fatigue, sluggishness or lethargy, and is often co morbid
with other disorders, especially anxiety.
This constellation of feelings and observable behaviors give rise the term depression.

While it is true that the state of the nervous system at any moment is a complex
interplay of both input from the external world and the system s own internal biases
and states, so that the internal/external dichotomy is perhaps an oversimplification I
think that patients who respond favorably to psychotherapy alone (and don t
experience later relapses) may represent a qualitatively different underlying etiology
than those who experience recurrent, persistent and debilitating depression. Put
differently, if the nervous system is constantly changing, and we recognize that some
of the changes are more temporary while others reflect more lasting modifications, the
patients for whom psychotherapy alone is effective perhaps reflect more transient
underlying nervous system changes.
In terms of a biosocial stress diathesis model (diathesis refers to biological
predisposition and stress to environmental contribution), these psychotherapy
receptive patients may have a low diathesis, and whatever environmental stressors
have occurred to induce depression, have not done so to the extent that they have
altered the biological system in a pervasive and lasting way. Therefore, the scope of
this paper will not further address this group of depression sufferers, concentrating
instead on those who experience persistent, severe and/or recurrent depression, whose
manifestations and course suggest stable changes to the nervous system in a variety
of ways,

A library that is closer for students would promote good learning habits and study
skills. Students may not wait until the last minute to do their projects and papers
because resources are more readily available to them.
PROPOSED ENVIRONMENT
The proposed environment will consist of a fully functioning library that is open to
students and faculty free of charge. If an outside member of the community would
like to use the library the school could charge them a small membership fee. This
will help to raise revenue for the college and the library.
For the first few years the library may be small but as years pass the library can
expand to have more books, magazines, research materials, computers, etc. The
library can also share with the main campus library in order to expand their materials
and capabilities. I think many students and teachers would support the addition of a
library to the campus.
When the library is first constructed it should have at least a thousand books, several
magazine subscriptions, and fifteen computers. Ten of the computers should be
connected to the Internet and have common programs that students would use to
write research papers and create presentations. The other five computers should be
connected to research databases only such as Ebsco. There should also be a ?quiet
area? where students can study, do homework, research material, read, write papers,
etc. A ?quiet area? would give

outsourcing helps to achieve such goals. According to the internet,

arrangement in which one company provide services for another company that

Many firms embrace outsourcing as a way to realize cost savings or better cost
control over the outsourced function. Firms usually outsource to a vendor that
specializes in a given function and performs that function more efficiently than the
company could, simply by virtue of transaction volume. Back office functions that
are complicated in nature, but the size of the firm is preventing them from
performing it at a consistent and reasonable cost, is another advantage of
outsourcing. For example, a small doctor s office that wants to accept a variety of
insurance plans. One part time person could not keep up with all the different
providers and rules. Outsource to a firm specializing in medical billing.
Besides that, global outsourcing will reduce overhead to the firm those do
outsource. Overhead costs of performing a particular back office function are
extremely high. It considers outsourcing those functions which can be moved easily.
For example, Growth has resulted in an increased need for office space. It reducing
the need for office space and no room to expand also the current location is very
expensive. For example, outbound telemarketing or data

5) Discuss the different types of traps and seals and the importance of timing . Give
an example related to the Middle East.
Trap can be defined as shield against oil and gas movement. In other words, the trap
system had been set up before the migration of oil and/or gas to this location. After
coming across the trap, oil and gas finished their journey under the ground if the
trap is settled well. (I ignore some leakage of them). By the way, trap could be just
structure as barren or could be productive.
The highest point of the trap is the crest, or culmination. The lowest point at which
hydrocarbons may be contained in the trap is the spill point; this lies on a horizon
contour, the spill plane. The vertical distance from crest to spill plane is the closure
of the trap. A trap may or may not be full to the spill plane, a point of both local and
regional significance. Note that in areas of monoclinal dip the closure of a trap may
not be the same as its structural relief. This situation is particularly significant in
hydrodynamic traps. The zone immediately beneath the petroleum is referred to as the
bottom water, and the zone of the reservoir laterally adjacent to the trap as the edge
zone.

Engineering Performance-Based Fire Codes
Preliminary views on implementing Engineering Performance Based Fire Codes
in Hong Kong: What should be done? Abstract Engineering performance based fire
codes (EPBFC) are to be developed in Hong Kong. Before implementing EPBFC,

current prescriptive fire codes should be understood. This will be a very big
project to be tackled step by step, certainly not regarded as a normal consultancy

In fact, before deciding whether to stick to prescriptive codes with active updating
or to use EPBFC, well planned long term investigational works should be carried
out. This should also be a life long research project for upgrading the code to solve
new problems encountered. This was well recognized by The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University (PolyU). There, EPBFC has been studied since 1995 with
some support of Area of Strategic Development: Construction Industry Development
Studies and Research Centre. A journal [37] reporting the development, problems
encountered, scientific principles, engineering judgements and practical examples
was established. It appears that if EPBFC is applied properly by experts with good
training in fire safety engineering such as those holding PhD degrees, and with
practical engineering experience up to Chartered Engineer status, the following can
be achieved as reported in the literature [13 34]: в†ђ Better fire safety provisions than
described in the older versions of prescriptive codes for both passive and active fire
safety measures [18]. в†ђ Regulations requiring systems that might not work in a fire
or even give adverse effect can be pointed out and updated. The requirements of
installing sprinkler at high headroom atrium and in escape staircases are obvious
examples. This is similar to imposing the local speed limit of 50 km per hour in
downtown areas where almost all drivers will not pay attention to!

concept originated, transpired in 1939; however, the image itself was drawn in
1923. The drawing portrays a man, positioned front facing, wearing a matching
tuxedo and hat holding his arms out wide with white gloves on. The design of the
suit coat, pants, and hat are all a simple checkerboard pattern with alternating white
and black squares with each white space having a dollar sign inside of it. The man
seems to be of a fairly white complexion suggesting that the man to play this role in
the playwas white. In itself, the image, is simple with minimal shading, a small
shadow of the man and a blank background.
The production for which this costume design was made was titled Better Times and
told the story of a small town facing economically adversity as a result of the
introduction of a charging tax hike. Ultimately, the citizens of the suburban area
united as a community to help each other repay debts, fines and taxes to finally
negotiate with the man in the money suit. The man in the money suit was a
government agent in charge of collecting debts. His role was to remind struggling
locals that they had outstanding debts and make threats of the consequences they
would face if they did not make timely payments. The man in the money suit
Dog Feeder Research Paper
The purpose of this is some people have to go to work early in the morning and
don t have time to feed their dog until they come late. If you are running late and
can t feed your dog or don t have time to. All you have to do is set a timer and if
you set the timer to 2:30 then the doggy bone feeder would then go off pulling up the
latch and the foodwould come out. It would notify your dogwhen the timer goes off.
Then the animal would come eat. And you would do that every day if you work
everyday or if an elderly person has a dog, then the doggy bone feeder would be
helpful. This automatic dog feeder is is about roughly 2 feet long, 1 foot wide, and
about 10 inches tall, which would give enough space to feed the animal. The Doggy

Research Paper On Oskar Schindler
Oskar Schindler grew up in a prosperous Catholic family with all the privileges
money could buy. He grew up to be a German industrialist, spy, and a member of the
Nazi Party, who outwitted Hitler and the Nazis to save more Jews than any other
from the deathly events of World Warа
ҐҐ. With the help of his wife, Emilie Schindler,
Oskar Schindlersaved the lives of 1,200 Jews during the Holocaustby employing them
in his ammunition and enamelware factories, spending millions bribing the SS,
and eventually risking his life to rescue the Schindler Jews ( The Oscar Schindler
Story ) Oskar Schindler was not one to pass up an opportunity to make some
money. He marched into Poland with the SS and dove head first into the black
market. He soon began to make friends with the Gestapo, the secret state police, by
softening them up with women, money and alcohol. His newfound connections
helped him to acquire a factory, which he ran with the cheapest labor around, Jews.
At first, it seemed like he was another German money driven industrialist but
somewhere along the way something changed. In December 1939, as the German
occupied Poland was being torn up by the events of the Holocaust, Schindler took
his first steps in becoming a Holocaust hero. If you saw a dog going to be crushed
under a car, he said later of his wartime actions, wouldn t you help him? ( Oskar
Schindler, Jewish Virtual Library).
Schindler, a money hungry, fast talking, womanizing, Nazi investor, bought Jewish
How Does Steinbeck Show Foreshadowing In Of Mice And
Men
Of Mice and Men In Of Mice and Men there are two main characters. There is
Lennie who has the brain of a 7 year old, but is really tall and strong. Then there is
George, he is really smart, short, and when he tells Lennie to do something he does it.
They are best friends and they stick together. John Steinbeckshowed foreshadowing
three times. The first way that Steinbeck showed foreshadowing is he told how
everytime Lennie got a mouse from is aunt he would kill it. Steinbeck foreshadowed
how Lennie didn t know his own strength. Everytime he went to pet the mouse sense
their necks are so sensitive he would pet them to hard and their necks would snap
The second way he showed foreshadowing was when he had George and
Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron
The story Harrison Bergeron is about individualism and government power. It takes
place in 2081 where the government has supreme control over every person in the
nation. People are given handicaps and downgraded to be equal to one another.
Harrison decides to take action and tries to change things for the better.
Unfortunately, this is not what happened. There ended up being a terrible
consequence that no one would ever wish upon a 14 year old boy. The short story
Harrison Bergeron, written by Kurt VonnegutJr., teaches its readers that to much
equality is not good.
First of all, when Hazel is talking to George about getting rid of his handicaps for a
little bit he says, Two years in prison and two thousand dollars fine for
Exchange Rate and Trade Balance
THE IMPACTS OF EXCHANGES RATE CHANGES ON TRADE BALANCE:
THE CASE OF VIETNAM
1. Background of the study
Among various subjects in the field of international trade and monetary policy, the
relationship between real exchange rate and trade balance is one of the most popular
topics, attracting extensive studies in last couple decades. Although a lot of efforts
have been made, international trade economists have yet come up with a
convergence point in theory to explain the moving direction of trade balance as the
result of currency depreciation or appreciation (Qiao, 2005). Empirical studies also
show divergence results of this topic. (Koray and McMillins, 1998). Moreover most
of the study has been conduct with economy with higher level ... Show more content

Research Objectives and Questions
Research Objectives
The major aim of this dissertation is to study the relationship between real exchange
rate and balance of trade in Vietnam since the interception of Renovation Policy. The
cope of the study will especially focus on the period between 2007 and 2012, as
Vietnam became the 150th members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the
January 11th 2007.
Research questions: * What can we really conclude about the effect of depreciation
or appreciation of Vietnamese Dong has on the trade balance? * Does the Marshall
Leaner conditions hold and J curve exist in Vietnam during above mentioned period?
* Is that relationship significant enough so that policy can be conducted base on the
conclusion of previous question? * In the case monetary authority choose to
implement the result of previous questions, how long will it take for the exchange
rate policy to really effect trade balance.
Terms of Reference
The result of this research could be implement by monetary authority in Vietnam to
determine the real effect of forex policy on trade balance. Based on the result they
can decide whether or not to implement such policy to fight trade deficit problem in
Vietnam.

Disegno, which means drawing, was the most important element in attempting to
achieve perfection. Disengo was found not only in painting, but also in all areas of
Florentine art. The importance of nature in Florentine resulted in the study of the
natural world, anatomy, and movement. Artists would develop their concepts in detail
on separate parchment paper and then transfer them. A work that represents disegno
would be Leonardo Da Vinci, The Fetus and Lining of the Uterus. Leonardo used his
technique of hatched shading and careful contours to create careful contours to
describe volume and movement in two artfully posed figures (Sorabella 1). His
drawings placed sensitivity on shading and the tones.
In Venice, artists used the colorito, defined as color, to create work with a sense of
life. The color palette used by Venetians was a slightly less vivid then Florentine
palette, but the colors were layered and blended to achieve a glowing richness.
Venetian artists gradually softened their coloring until their manner equaled nature.
Venetians attempted to equal nature through the use of light and how light will affect
the body. And unlike Florentine painting, compositions were placed directly on the
canvas through colored brushstrokes. Titan s Venus and Adonis, is a good example
of how Venetian artists used color to recreate nature. Titan is able to create the mood
through intense color and
Before I Got My Eye Put Out Meaning
What is Sight? Just because you have sight does not mean you can see. Poems can
have lots of meaning, power, and persuasion. Great examples of this is We grow
accustomed to the dark and Before I got my eye put out . Both have different
meanings of sight, which can change how you think of the meaning of sight. Emily
Dickinson, the author of these poems, started to have aches and pain in her eyes
which slowly was depleting her sight. But this disability never stopped her from
being able to see . We grow accustomed to the dark focuses on every aspect of the
word sight . It can be perceived as literalor metaphorical. While Before I got my eye
put out is only talking about the literal aspect of sight .
We grow accustomed to the dark talks about sight in a literal and metaphorical sense.
Emily Dickinson has a great way of making the readers really think about what they
just read. Not only is the poem powerful and intriguing, you question what you ...

An example of how she does this is in the fourth stanza of her poem it says The
Bravest grope a little And sometimes hit a Tree Directly in the Forehead But as
they learn to see .(Dickinson) This can paint two pictures in your mind, one can be
the literal version which makes you think of someone that gropes with the darkness
and will run into things, but as he makes mistakes he will adapt to the darkness and
won t run into things anymore. The metaphorical picture that it can paint in your
mind is that someone that is in the darkness , unknown, will not know how to do
something, for example ride a bike. But as they continue to grope with it they will
slowly get better at it, even if that means they run into a couple trees. No one is
instantly perfect at everything, so that means that you must be in the dark about
something, and it s not until you re brave enough to fail, will you
Shooting An Elephant Individualism
Although humans exhibit strong preferences for equity and moral prohibitions
against harm in many context, people s priorities change when there is an us and
them (Saxe). Within society, many individuals are beginning to identify with various
groups that begin to tear each other down, rather than lift each other up. The urge to
fit in eventually overpowers the mind of one s independence. The need to be
accepted and to have the approval of others ultimately conflicts with one s own
morals and beliefs. Although individualism is highly praised, one s surface attributes
and appearance may have a negative connotation in that they are categorized as a
specific stereotype, therefore these ideas will turn toxic as one is automatically

There are no longer independent individuals working together, instead there are
groups who compare themselves to others and believes that they are more
superior. With separate groups there is a standing of hierarchy and a battle to be at
the top. There is a sense of prejudice that forms which often leads to tragedies.
Hitler was known for being anti Semitic, resulting him in leading the Nazi s in
killing millions of innocent Jewish people. Hitler used his standing in society to
spread propaganda against the Jews, and cause prejudice amongst ethnicities. An
unnecessary divide is created between individuals when placed in groups. Hitler
believed that his race was far superior to any other race, and believed that those that
were not of similar kind to him were considered evil. With the identification of a
group there becomes the need to be at the top. With groups there becomes a
classification. The prejudice of each group comes from a focus on the differences,
and discrepancy within each group. These differences begin to evolve and eventually
becomes hatred and prejudice. The hatred and disdain results in conflict and war.
Innocent civilians are put at risk, and innocent individuals are hated upon simply
because of a group
Negative Influence Of The Bermuda Triangle
Peculiar Twilight Zone Tanker ships and passenger planes vanishing as if into mid
air; tragic yet intriguing to scientists. The negative influence of the Bermuda
Triangle on the world is detrimental to the concept of maritime safety and
understanding. The lack of scientific background for the occurrences is not
necessarily due to a lack of desire to discover the true cause. The continual disastrous
events play a significant role in the beliefs of many individuals from around the
globe. The disappearances of multi ton ships proves the severity and intensity of the
situation out at sea. The Bermuda Triangle has been a controversial phenomenon for
many years, along with many reasonable theories; however, society still cannot

ВЁHexagonal clouds could be the main reason for the disappearances. They are
naturally occurring air bombs of on average, 170 mile per hour winds,ВЁ (Ratner).
The formation of these clouds are not uncommon within the surrounding areas so
it is a likely chance that air bombs with a much higher speed are developing
throughout the ВЁtriangleВЁ zone. Another naturally developing force of nature
are underwater canyons. ВЁThe Bermuda Triangle has underwater canyons with
some measuring an estimated 5.5 miles in depth,ВЁ (Levette 44). There is a
possibility that when these planes and ships vanish without even leaving behind a
trace of oil, that they are literally just completely sinking down into these canyons
where they can no longer be swept along with the tide. This would prove the reason
for which no remains ever wash up onto land. The final geographical theory in
which is going to be stated, is the development of methane bubbles. ВЁMethane is
created by the decomposing bodies of fish and other sea life,ВЁ (Ratner). The
Methane bubbles are extremely strong for being a gas. ВЁThe gas is highly
combustible, an eruption can cause planes to sink like rocks and planes flying above
it to catch fire and completely get destroyed,ВЁ (Duffield 21). The development of
these theories are still highly controversial and lacking of scientific support. With the

Gods and Immortals in Marilyn Todd’s Bad Day on
Mount Olympus
Marilyn Todd s Bad Day on Mount Olympus , retells the stories of Roman, Greek
God s and immortals, in a modern day language.
The first myth system to note is the story of Io, in which Zeus, King of the gods, is
unfaithful to his wife Hera, with a maiden named Io. Zeus does not want his wife to
find out about this, so he turns Io, into a heifer so as Hera will never see her. Jupiter
thinking he s best get in first, if he s looking to protect the girlfriend, so... spotting
a herd of cows on the hill, quick as a flash, he turns her into a heifer. This shows he
does want to protect Io, however, we see his cowardly ways by him not telling Hera
in the first place. In other interpretations of the story, we see Io get turned into a
beautiful white cow and also Zeus disguising the River Nymph as a cow meaning
she can blend among a herd. The effect of doing this changes the tone of the story, in
a sense of making it more comical to readers, instead of it being about betrayal and
trust.
The second myth system to note is Hercules and the Thespian Lion. When
Hercules was 18 he killed the Thespian Lion, because it was part of his Twelve
Labours in which he must abide by as penance for killing family, and once he
completed all of these, Hercules was a free man once again. When Hercules killed
the Lion, he wore the fur for the rest of his life, and we have mention of this in Todd
s story, no one wears the full Lion s pelt on a sweltering day like this without
courting some sort of
Adhd In Children Essay
Good health is one of the most valued things in the life of every human being from
childhood to old age. A nation s future relies on the wellbeing of its children.
Unfortunately, American children are sick and overmedicated. The National Center
of Health Statistics estimated that 7.5 percent of kids at the age interval of six to
seventeen were under medication for emotional or behavioral problems in 2011 2012.
Several millions of children in the United States have been diagnosed with childhood
mental disorder such as eating disorders, depression, autism spectrum disorders,
anxiety disorders, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). These kids
are often overmedicated because of incorrect diagnosis of their medical conditions,
improper use of medicines, unnecessary dosage of medications, and conflicts of
interest in the pharmaceutical industry.
Incorrect diagnosis of kids medical conditions can lead to the prescription of wrong
treatments and overmedication. Therefore, it is extremely important that a child is
diagnosed by the correct medical specialist. The diagnosis of mental disorder in kids
is not an exact science. It is so complex that the chance to get the proper medication
that suits the child s condition is extremely slim. Many doctors affirm that psychiatric
prescription is based on their observations of the child s behaviors. Nowadays,
modern psychiatry has reached a point where even the most normal behavior and
emotions of a child have been labeled
The Role Of Calcium Channels In Prostate Cancer
Cancer, the uncontrolled division of mutated cells producing tumours. Likelihood
of developing the disease is increased by a variety of factors such as age, over
exposure to sunlight, certain chemical exposures, etc. Research has shown that there
is a role of calcium channels in cancer. Calcium channels are essential pathways
needed to allow calcium ions to enter the cells of the human body as they are unable
to penetrate the phospholipid bilayer. Calcium is needed in the body for such things
as nerve impulses and the formation of bones and teeth.
Calcium channels in prostate cancer: calcium channel blockers have been shown to
prevent the cancer from becoming more aggressive it has been shown that increased
permeability of Ca2+ channels causes
Garrett Hardin Lifeboat Ethics Analysis
Are The Rich Better Than The Poor? Garrett Hardin s excerpt from Lifeboat Ethics
first appeared in Psychology Today in September 1974. In this essay, there is a
metaphor that rich and poor are very different. I strongly disagree with Hardin s
metaphor even though he is truthful about his beliefs. The metaphor is only being
seen in one point of view, when there are multiple ways of looking at it. Hardin
begins to describe how there are fifty people sitting in the lifeboat, with a total
capacity of sixty. There are one hundred people swimming in the water, begging to
be let on the lifeboat. The people that are on the lifeboat to begin with are the rich
people who feel guilty that they already have a spot. Hardin believes that the people

Summary Of The Eighth Amendment
The famous Founding Fathers of the United States created critical documents to
protect the citizens of the country they were establishing. These documents included
the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. The latter, the Bill of Rights,
ensures certain rights to all citizens, and the Eighth Amendment in particular, protects
citizens against cruel or unusual punishments for breaking the law. When analyzing
the protection under the Eighth Amendment one must also look at all the aspects of
the law including: the history of the law, the modern uses and abuses of the law, and
the law s current effectiveness. The first point to evaluate when looking at the Eighth
Amendment is its the rich history. In the 1700 s, years before the Bill of Rights was
created, judges would issue unfair punishments to those convicted if the judge
favored the plaintiff or prosecutor. Furthermore, there was one man, Titus Oates, that
would lie to the judge about his crimes; he would, in turn, blame the crimeon other
people. He was responsible for killing thirty five people and managed to avoid
punishment through his lies. Oates not only lied but exaggerated causing those that
had been wrongly accused to suffer horribly cruel punishment. His testimony was
responsible for the execution of some 35 persons, but, as the frenzy subsided,
inconsistencies were discovered in his story. (Editors 1). These inconsistencies
ultimately lead to Oates s execution. Another example of legal injustice that
Who Was Responsible For Joseph s Father In Genesis 1-36
In Genesis 37 1 36. The circumstances that led to Joseph s brother s treatment
towards him were the following: his father loved him more than his older son s,
because he was born to him in old age. Joseph s brothers hated him and could not
speak a kind word to him. (Genesis 37:3 4 NIV) Now Israel loved Joseph more
than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he
made an ornate[a] robe for him. 4 When his brothers saw that their father loved
him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to
him. In chapter 39 the character traits I saw emerge in Joseph encounter with
Potiphar s wife were the following: loyalty, respect and grateful. He was not only
loyal to God, but a loyal servant to his earthly master as well. He was grateful for the
confidence his master had in him and the respectful of the... Show more content on

because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.

The Church of the New Testament
The Church of the New Testament
There has never been and will never be a single universal religion. From the
beginning of time people have argued over who has the correct teachings, beliefs,
and religious practices. However, the Eastern Orthodox Church believes itself to be
the one true religion as practiced in the New Testament. Prior to 1054 AD, Eastern
Orthodox and Roman Catholicism were branches of the same religious body. In 1054
AD the first division of Christian faiths occurred. There had long been conflicts
between the two churches that included the nature of the Holy Spirit, iconic worship,
the celebrations of Easter, and cultural differences. Roman Catholicism separated
itself from the Eastern Orthodox and began its own ... Show more content on

They believe that Christ is the Son of God and that he was born of a virgin named
Mary. Because Jesus was born to a human, he himself is fully human and fully
divine; the Son of God and the Son of Man. They believe that Jesus, in his human
form, saved the world by teaching the absolute truth of God. They understand that
Jesus forgave the evils of all men and the world; he suffered and died in innocence,
voluntarily and unjustly on the cross in order to be with all who suffer and die.
This belief fits with the teachings from the book of Acts, that Jesus is the universal
savior. A continuation of the gospels of Luke, Acts remains an important book of
the Bible in the sense that it tells about the continuation of the teachings of Jesus
passed on by his witnesses; essentially, the retellings of Jesus stories. These
retellings allowed the Christian religion to spread worldwide. The New Testament,
in my belief, has the same impact as Acts. It retells the story about the life of our
savior Jesus Christ and his teachings according to the word of god. It is important for
any member of society who wants to practice and understand any Christian religion. I
have never attended an Orthodox church prior to this course, but I will be attending a
service in the near future. I look forward to seeing how the mystical nature of their
faith fits in with the teachings of Jesus. While I can see similarities between my faith
and the Orthodox faith, I expect to

  • 2. Essay On Year Round School Once a student enters the building on their first day of school they long await summer break. Yet, districts around the nation are changing that, instead of giving a two and a half summer vacation, they are asking students to go to school instead. This is a controversial issue because some parents agree with the decision, while others don t. Instead of vacations and lying around at home during summer break, students will be given more textbooks, homework and tests. Although they do attend school throughout summer break, they do get periods of time off throughout the school year which gives them a break. The government should apply the year round schooling method in our district because cost is not much of an issue, it helps teachers, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Building Concrete Structures Of Building Solid Stone... Materials like tile covered concrete quickly supplanted marble as the primary building material and more daring buildings soon followed, with great pillars supporting broad arches and domes rather than dense lines of columns suspending flat architraves. Concrete also inspired the colonnade screen, a row of ornamental columns in front of a load bearing wall. For smaller buildings, concrete s strength freed the floor plan from rectangular cells to a more free flowing environment. Most of these developments are described by Vitruvius writing in the first century AD in his work De Architectura. Ancient Roman concrete was a mixture of lime mortar, sand with stone rubble, pozzolana, water, and stones, and stronger than previously used concrete. The ancient builders placed these ingredients in wooden frames where it hardened and bonded to a facing of stones or (more frequently) bricks. Concrete construction proved to be more flexible and less costly than building solid stone buildings. The materials were readily available and not difficult to transport. The wooden frames could be used more than once, allowing builders to work quickly and efficiently. On return from campaigns in Greece, the general Sulla returned with what is probably the most well known element of the early imperial period: the mosaic, a decoration of colorful chips of stone inset into cement. This tiling method took the empire by storm in the late first century and the second century and in the Roman home joined

Delia is a washerwoman fighting to keep her house and her sanity ( Sweat ). She takes great pride in her job even when her husband insists on her stopping. In the short story her husband demands her to quit her job. He calls her a hypocrite for doing the wash of the white after she has just attended church. When Delia is not fazed by his words and continues washing the clothes, he becomes very angry and ruins the clothes she put so much time into. He stepped roughly upon the whitest pile of things, kicking them helter skelter as he crossed the room. His wife gave a little scream of dismay, and quickly gathered them together... On a Sunday, as she washes, she is confronted by something that reminds her of the snake, which scares her. It is actually her husband s whip (Jones). In this part of the novel, Sykes places the whip on Delia s shoulder to affirm his dominance. A great terror took hold of her. It softened her knees and dried her mouth so that it was a full minute before she could cry out or move (Hurston 1). This shows the effects of the whip on Delia and how powerless she

A Critical Analysis of Michael Jordan and the New Global Capitalism In the history of business, there has been a clear record of industry heads finding something or someone as a mainstay and bedrock for their respective companies or corporations; there is often a chief product that keeps many businesses afloat, even in the rough times. Apple found it s own in 2001 with the iPod. McDonald s has had the Big Mac since the late 1960s. Nike, however, found their goldmine in a person with Michael Jordan. Obvious significance is shown from the growth of the business of Michael Jordan himself. It shows how a single man can amass wealth starting one dimensionally as a person with extraordinary athletic talent and transitioning into one who takes the reigns as the leader of his own division of a transnational corporation while still working to his own and his brand s marketability. It s also subtly important to show how the Nike product also spiked the dollar seen by inner city В‘mom and pop athletic apparel stores, mostly black owned. Chapter 4 touches on the effect of the Air Jordan on inner cities, both good and bad, and even though there was crime and drug money involved with the sales of Air Jordans, it is still hard to ignore the increase of money that resulted as well. Lastly, LaFeber s book provides informational significance of the expansion of global capitalism in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. It not only shows how Nike became the worlds largest company in sports apparel but also how the Chicago Bulls organization increased
  • 6. Change Management Strategies For New Merged Company For this merger to create a new culture, these artifacts need to encompass and be reflective of the new merged company, without favor to one or the other. Though removal and replacement of these artifacts may be difficult for some to grasp, while doing so, by introducing consistent rewards and recognition can be one of the first new artifacts, and can fill the void and keep focus forward, versus looking back to the past. Strong new programs also encourage if not promote further communication, and help build a supportive work environment that will foster a working network of colleagues. One last note as to artifacts; although founders, leaders, and company stories are valued artifacts, so are the people working here and now. Celebrate those with the new merged company; create new stories with new events, programs, and by starting new traditions for the organization. This gives an identity to the new organization, creates the new culture, and begins establishing organizational socialization. 5.Change Management Strategy. The most appropriate set of change management strategies to use for implementing change would be an appreciative inquiry approach. A merging of two companies creates a plethora of unknowns for all; the unknown is a strong threat to all that perceive it. Reframing the image of merging into a positive strength for all is more palatable, if not approachable for most. Appreciative inquiry typically examines successful events, organizations, and work units.

They were all ambitious men and each was determined to take control of Russia for himself. As a result, there was virtually no co operation between the various White Armies. They had to move their forces and supplies over huge distances, making it difficult to maintain effective control. The lack of effective railways was an added complication to the existing communication difficulties between them. Whereas the Whites were disunited, the Bolsheviks maintained absolute unity through the Terror. It was this skilled leadership of the Red Army , paired with the divided leadership of the White Forces that was a key factor in the Bolsheviks winning the Civil War. A second reason why the Bolsheviks won the Civil War was geography. In 1918, the start of the Civil War, the Bolsheviks had the advantage of holding a central position between Petrograd and Moscow (including their factories.) Most of Russia s railways were in this area, making communication between various battlefronts much easier, Trotsky was able to move troops and supplies rapidly to areas under attack. • 12. Titration Of An Unknown Solution A titration is a method to determine the concentration of an unknown solution by using the known concentration of another solution. An analyte is the concentration of an unknown solution . A titrant is the concentration of a known solution. The glassware needed to perform a titration are a buret, a flask, and an indicator of pH meter. The buret sends the second reactant to the flask. An indicator detects the endpoint of this reaction. Standardization is the process in which you determine the concentration of the titrant before performing the titration. One would need to make a standard solution to be precise, and make sure the titration experiment is being done correct. The equivalence point is point in the titration when the quantity of titrant is the right amount for the reaction with the analyte.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You prepare a standard solution by using the M1V1=M2V2 formula, and putting the information to solve the equation. An indicator is going to have a reaction with hydroxide ions or hydrogen ions to determine whether the substance is a base or acid. The role of an indicator in a titration is to determine how many oxygen or hydroxide ions are in a solution. The laboratory method that is used to titrate an unknown strong acid solution is a titration. When you drop NaOH ions the OH ions unite with H ions creating water which leave less H ions in the solution making the solution less acidic. The more NaOH ions you add the solution will eventually change color due to the indicator. The data that should be collected during the titration in order to calculate the concentration of HCl should be the number of moles, the volume of the solution, and the amount dropped to make the solution less acidic. You calculate the molarity / concentration of the unknown HCl solution by using the formula

Harris quoted another author to say, these linguistic and stylistic considerations, when weighed against the undoubted resemblances between the first 20 chapters and chapter 21, it offers no sufficient information that would lead one to believe that chapter 21 was written by any other author. Harris contends that most scholars, do not make the decision for or against the identity of the authorship based on the stylistic or linguistic evidence, but rather, that argument is made on the basis of the content or logical argument flow. Harris uses the knowledge of other scholars regarding chapter 21 of the Gospel of John. He highlights another scholar when viewing the idea if chapter 21 was just an addendum to the Gospel of John or is it an item of necessity. He quotes S. Smalley to say this, Smalley demonstrates that chapter 21 is not as much of an addendum as some believe, and that it does in fact provide a necessary conclusion to the Fourth Gospel, which does not merely end with the confession by Thomas, but offer a repetitive emphasis that the disciples will continue the witness of Jesus even after He has ascended to His Father, in addition to carrying out the mission

Target Corporation Target Corporation is a retail organization that specializes in the sales of goods such as clothing, house wares, small electronics, furniture, music, pharmaceuticals, toys, and groceries. The company also makes many of its products available on their online store. Target Corporation uses the retail inventory method (RIM) to account for inventory. Target uses last in first out (LIFO) method under RIM. Under RIM, the valuation of inventory at cost and the resulting gross margins are calculated by applying a cost to retail ratio to the retail value inventory. RIM is an averaging method that has been widely used in the retail industry due to its practicality. The use of RIM will result in inventory being valued at the lower of cost or market since permanent markdowns are currently taken as a reduction of the retail value of inventory (Target Corporation). The disadvantages to using this method include: (1) damaged goods may have less value than what the store paid for them , (2) changes in market prices

She s quiet, humble, and gentle who has been physically, mentally, and sexually abused by her brother, Viserys who sells her to Khal Drogo, her now dead husband so he could buy an army of Dothraki. Her ownership then transfers to Drogo, who repeatedly rapes her before Daenerys learns to assert herself and manipulate his desire. She had a messed up relationship with him from the beginning where she was once afraid of him since he was this large, muscular, intimidating man who didn t speak the common tongue. Eventually, that began to change when she started growing bolder, taking charge in the bedroom. He begins to treat her as a real human being who knows what she wants rather than an object. Female self sexualization perpetuates the genderhierarchy by reinforcing the patriarchal idea that sex is women s main source of power (Erchull Liss, 2013; Smolak Murnen, 2011). However, people believe that self sexualization positively empowers women, for two reasons. First, people learn from their peers that women are rewarded for using their feminine charms From this perspective, self sexualization is viewed as a strategy to increase women s personal power, which challenges the gender hierarchy (Infanger, Rudman, and Sczesny,

It was a revolutionary war for its time, yet its existence is questioned by many. Throughout this text I will answer the question: In your opinion, is the existence of the city of Troyand the Trojan War real or just a good story (an artistic creation)? I believe in the existence or the city of Troy as well as the Trojan War because of all the written and archaeological evidence that has been found on this topic. First of all, written evidence plays a big part in why I believe the city of Troy and the Trojan War were real events. The biggest written evidence is the famous poem Iliad written by Homer which tells the story of the Trojan War through Homer s eyes. He sees it as a war that began because of a love affair between the kind of Greece and his wife, a beautiful young woman who fell for the prince of Troy. The evidence that has been found throughout many years has shown that it was not a war based on a love affair, but one that began because of desire. The city of Troy was a very wealthy city found in a very strategic location which attracted civilizations, therefore, civilizations such as the Mycenaeans wanted to take over. Furthermore, written tablets are another big piece of evidence when it comes to the Trojan War. These tablets provided information that archaeologists were looking for to answer the question: Who fought

In other words, the trap system had been set up before the migration of oil and/or gas to this location. After coming across the trap, oil and gas finished their journey under the ground if the trap is settled well. (I ignore some leakage of them). The lowest point at which hydrocarbons may be contained in the trap is the spill point; this lies on a horizon contour, the spill plane. The vertical distance from crest to spill plane is the closure of the trap. A trap may or may not be full to the spill plane, a point of both local and regional significance. Note that in areas of monoclinal dip the closure of a trap may not be the same as its structural relief. This situation is particularly significant in hydrodynamic traps. Key points on suitability of implementing EPBFC in Hong Kong, or preserving prescriptive codes but with active updating are discussed. Approaches used overseas are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, before deciding whether to stick to prescriptive codes with active updating or to use EPBFC, well planned long term investigational works should be carried out. This should also be a life long research project for upgrading the code to solve new problems encountered. This was well recognized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). There, EPBFC has been studied since 1995 with some support of Area of Strategic Development: Construction Industry Development Studies and Research Centre. A journal [37] reporting the development, problems encountered, scientific principles, engineering judgements and practical examples was established. It appears that if EPBFC is applied properly by experts with good training in fire safety engineering such as those holding PhD degrees, and with practical engineering experience up to Chartered Engineer status, the following can be achieved as reported in the literature [13 34]: в†ђ Better fire safety provisions than described in the older versions of prescriptive codes for both passive and active fire safety measures [18]. в†ђ Regulations requiring systems that might not work in a fire or even give adverse effect can be pointed out and updated. The requirements of installing sprinkler at high headroom atrium and in escape staircases are obvious examples. This is similar to imposing the local speed limit of 50 km per hour in downtown areas where almost all drivers will not pay attention to!
  • 44. Analysis Of The Man In The Money Suit The image being examined, The Man in the Money Suit, is a hand drawn sketch by R.H Burnside for a costume design idea, which was put into play at the Billy Rose Theatre in New York. The theatrical production for which this costume design concept originated, transpired in 1939; however, the image itself was drawn in 1923. The drawing portrays a man, positioned front facing, wearing a matching tuxedo and hat holding his arms out wide with white gloves on. The design of the suit coat, pants, and hat are all a simple checkerboard pattern with alternating white and black squares with each white space having a dollar sign inside of it. The man seems to be of a fairly white complexion suggesting that the man to play this role in the playwas white. In itself, the image, is simple with minimal shading, a small shadow of the man and a blank background. The production for which this costume design was made was titled Better Times and told the story of a small town facing economically adversity as a result of the introduction of a charging tax hike. Ultimately, the citizens of the suburban area united as a community to help each other repay debts, fines and taxes to finally negotiate with the man in the money suit. The man in the money suit was a government agent in charge of collecting debts. His role was to remind struggling locals that they had outstanding debts and make threats of the consequences they would face if they did not make timely payments. The man in the money suit

He soon began to make friends with the Gestapo, the secret state police, by softening them up with women, money and alcohol. His newfound connections helped him to acquire a factory, which he ran with the cheapest labor around, Jews. Background of the study Among various subjects in the field of international trade and monetary policy, the relationship between real exchange rate and trade balance is one of the most popular topics, attracting extensive studies in last couple decades. Although a lot of efforts have been made, international trade economists have yet come up with a convergence point in theory to explain the moving direction of trade balance as the result of currency depreciation or appreciation (Qiao, 2005). Empirical studies also show divergence results of this topic. (Koray and McMillins, 1998). Moreover most of the study has been conduct with economy with higher level ... Disegno, which means drawing, was the most important element in attempting to achieve perfection. Disengo was found not only in painting, but also in all areas of Florentine art. The importance of nature in Florentine resulted in the study of the natural world, anatomy, and movement. Artists would develop their concepts in detail on separate parchment paper and then transfer them. A work that represents disegno would be Leonardo Da Vinci, The Fetus and Lining of the Uterus. Leonardo used his technique of hatched shading and careful contours to create careful contours to describe volume and movement in two artfully posed figures (Sorabella 1). His drawings placed sensitivity on shading and the tones. In Venice, artists used the colorito, defined as color, to create work with a sense of life. The color palette used by Venetians was a slightly less vivid then Florentine palette, but the colors were layered and blended to achieve a glowing richness. Venetian artists gradually softened their coloring until their manner equaled nature. Venetians attempted to equal nature through the use of light and how light will affect the body. And unlike Florentine painting, compositions were placed directly on the canvas through colored brushstrokes. Titan s Venus and Adonis, is a good example of how Venetian artists used color to recreate nature. Titan is able to create the mood through intense color and

Great examples of this is We grow accustomed to the dark and Before I got my eye put out . Both have different meanings of sight, which can change how you think of the meaning of sight. Emily Dickinson, the author of these poems, started to have aches and pain in her eyes which slowly was depleting her sight. But this disability never stopped her from being able to see . We grow accustomed to the dark focuses on every aspect of the word sight . It can be perceived as literalor metaphorical. While Before I got my eye put out is only talking about the literal aspect of sight . We grow accustomed to the dark talks about sight in a literal and metaphorical sense. The metaphorical picture that it can paint in your mind is that someone that is in the darkness , unknown, will not know how to do something, for example ride a bike. Within society, many individuals are beginning to identify with various groups that begin to tear each other down, rather than lift each other up. The urge to fit in eventually overpowers the mind of one s independence. The need to be accepted and to have the approval of others ultimately conflicts with one s own morals and beliefs. There are no longer independent individuals working together, instead there are groups who compare themselves to others and believes that they are more superior. With separate groups there is a standing of hierarchy and a battle to be at the top. There is a sense of prejudice that forms which often leads to tragedies. Hitler was known for being anti Semitic, resulting him in leading the Nazi s in killing millions of innocent Jewish people. Hitler used his standing in society to spread propaganda against the Jews, and cause prejudice amongst ethnicities. An unnecessary divide is created between individuals when placed in groups. Hitler believed that his race was far superior to any other race, and believed that those that were not of similar kind to him were considered evil. With the identification of a group there becomes the need to be at the top. With groups there becomes a classification. The prejudice of each group comes from a focus on the differences, and discrepancy within each group. These differences begin to evolve and eventually becomes hatred and prejudice. The hatred and disdain results in conflict and war. Innocent civilians are put at risk, and innocent individuals are hated upon simply because of a group

ВЁHexagonal clouds could be the main reason for the disappearances. They are naturally occurring air bombs of on average, 170 mile per hour winds,ВЁ (Ratner). Another naturally developing force of nature are underwater canyons. ВЁThe Bermuda Triangle has underwater canyons with some measuring an estimated 5.5 miles in depth,ВЁ (Levette 44). There is a possibility that when these planes and ships vanish without even leaving behind a trace of oil, that they are literally just completely sinking down into these canyons where they can no longer be swept along with the tide. The first myth system to note is the story of Io, in which Zeus, King of the gods, is unfaithful to his wife Hera, with a maiden named Io. Zeus does not want his wife to find out about this, so he turns Io, into a heifer so as Hera will never see her. Jupiter thinking he s best get in first, if he s looking to protect the girlfriend, so... spotting a herd of cows on the hill, quick as a flash, he turns her into a heifer. This shows he does want to protect Io, however, we see his cowardly ways by him not telling Hera in the first place. In other interpretations of the story, we see Io get turned into a beautiful white cow and also Zeus disguising the River Nymph as a cow meaning she can blend among a herd. The effect of doing this changes the tone of the story, in a sense of making it more comical to readers, instead of it being about betrayal and trust. The second myth system to note is Hercules and the Thespian Lion. When Hercules was 18 he killed the Thespian Lion, because it was part of his Twelve Labours in which he must abide by as penance for killing family, and once he completed all of these, Hercules was a free man once again. When Hercules killed the Lion, he wore the fur for the rest of his life, and we have mention of this in Todd s story, no one wears the full Lion s pelt on a sweltering day like this without courting some sort of

Unfortunately, American children are sick and overmedicated. The National Center of Health Statistics estimated that 7.5 percent of kids at the age interval of six to seventeen were under medication for emotional or behavioral problems in 2011 2012. Several millions of children in the United States have been diagnosed with childhood mental disorder such as eating disorders, depression, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). These kids are often overmedicated because of incorrect diagnosis of their medical conditions, improper use of medicines, unnecessary dosage of medications, and conflicts of interest in the pharmaceutical industry. Incorrect diagnosis of kids medical conditions can lead to the prescription of wrong treatments and overmedication. Therefore, it is extremely important that a child is diagnosed by the correct medical specialist. The diagnosis of mental disorder in kids is not an exact science. It is so complex that the chance to get the proper medication that suits the child s condition is extremely slim. Many doctors affirm that psychiatric prescription is based on their observations of the child s behaviors. Nowadays, modern psychiatry has reached a point where even the most normal behavior and emotions of a child have been labeled

Hardin begins to describe how there are fifty people sitting in the lifeboat, with a total capacity of sixty. There are one hundred people swimming in the water, begging to be let on the lifeboat. These documents included the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. The latter, the Bill of Rights, ensures certain rights to all citizens, and the Eighth Amendment in particular, protects citizens against cruel or unusual punishments for breaking the law. When analyzing the protection under the Eighth Amendment one must also look at all the aspects of the law including: the history of the law, the modern uses and abuses of the law, and the law s current effectiveness. The first point to evaluate when looking at the Eighth Amendment is its the rich history. In the 1700 s, years before the Bill of Rights was created, judges would issue unfair punishments to those convicted if the judge favored the plaintiff or prosecutor. Furthermore, there was one man, Titus Oates, that would lie to the judge about his crimes; he would, in turn, blame the crimeon other people. He was responsible for killing thirty five people and managed to avoid punishment through his lies. Oates not only lied but exaggerated causing those that had been wrongly accused to suffer horribly cruel punishment. His testimony was responsible for the execution of some 35 persons, but, as the frenzy subsided, inconsistencies were discovered in his story. (Editors 1). These inconsistencies ultimately lead to Oates s execution. Another example of legal injustice that

Because Jesus was born to a human, he himself is fully human and fully divine; the Son of God and the Son of Man. They believe that Jesus, in his human form, saved the world by teaching the absolute truth of God. They understand that Jesus forgave the evils of all men and the world; he suffered and died in innocence, voluntarily and unjustly on the cross in order to be with all who suffer and die. This belief fits with the teachings from the book of Acts, that Jesus is the universal savior. A continuation of the gospels of Luke, Acts remains an important book of the Bible in the sense that it tells about the continuation of the teachings of Jesus passed on by his witnesses; essentially, the retellings of Jesus stories. These retellings allowed the Christian religion to spread worldwide. The New Testament, in my belief, has the same impact as Acts.
