Audience:
My audience will be the ages of 13- 21, this is because I’m making a game magazine that will have
games based around these ages. I will be leaning towards the male side as they are typically
going to be more interested in the games I’m going to be talking about. The social status of the
audience I will be targeting will be upper middle class as they would have to afford a console and
games. The type of people I will be targeting will be the achiever mind set, the reason I have done
this is because they want material wealth. Therefore they can afford the games and consoles as
they’re expensive. My project will appeal to the achiever by involving games that focus on
individuality, money and power. My product will appeal to the age group by adding games that
target the same audience as me. I will appeal to the male gender by adding violent games into my
magazine. I will appeal to my social status by adding in expensive games that upper middle class
can afford.

The progress I’ve gone through is developing my skills at Photoshop, for example I nearly know all
the tools and what they do. I’ve also learned how to edit my footage using software like adobe. I
also know what type of people like what, for example an achiever wants power and money. From
studying this subject it makes me want to learn more about the media world and how I could
improve my skills. I have studied magazines, therefore I know who to target, their age and the
social status of the audience. This will impact my project be providing me with the necessary
information to develop and evolve my product.

Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept I’m going to use for my magazine will be about gaming and tech. Therefore I will be
making a gaming magazine targeting teenagers who are upper middle class that like video games.
I will be making a gaming magazine front cover that will involve a game character, I will also add
the name of the gaming magazine which will be “Gamer Geek”. I then will add large bold font to
draw the customer attention to the magazine. I then will make a double page spread, which will
talk about video games and my opinion on them, for example if they’re worth buying or not. I then
will make a website article where I will be talking about reviews for games. I will gather research on
other gaming magazines and compare the similarities between them and also discuss the
differences as well.
