This document outlines objectives and activities for a lesson on identifying properties of well-written texts. The objectives are to: 1) identify properties manifested in texts read; 2) write a paragraph observing properties from pictures; 3) display cooperation in groups; and 4) manifest pride in women's contributions. Students will read stories in groups and answer questions about the stories. They will then write a paragraph observing properties of a well-written text about women using a rubric assessing unity, organization, coherence/cohesion, language use and mechanics. Key properties discussed are unity, organization, coherence, cohesion, language use and mechanics.
