This document summarizes a student project to design and build a prototype screw press. It includes an analysis of existing screw press designs and calculations to determine the dimensions of the screw press components. The objectives are to continue optimizing screw press design and evaluate performance. The methodology involves studying existing presses, selecting one for improvement, designing modifications, fabricating the press, and testing it. Dimensions and drawings of the prototype's power screw, columns, and plates are provided. The prototype was successfully built to specifications using wood instead of metal to reduce costs. The project enhanced workshop and design skills.
