PROJECT WORK: TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES FOR ASSESSMENT
Project-based assessments are an alternative to tests that allow students to engage with their learning in more concrete ways. Instead of merely studying theory, a hands-on project asks students to apply what they've learned to an in-depth exploration of a topic. You can use projects as part of the ongoing learning process or as a capstone assessment in place of a traditional final exam.
Project-based assessment is often a component of project-based learning (PBL), in which the entire focus of a course or unit is to teach via student engagement in problem-solving and exploration. Like PBL, project-based assessment is student-centered and requires reflection on both the process and the content to be meaningful.

How do teachers implementing the ISSN framework put Action into the component, "Taking Action” without the project consuming the learning? The ISSN Performance Assessment Shells and SAGE are tools teachers can use to incorporate project-based learning activities into their curriculum that are specifically designed to address the four domains of global competence. This session will provide an overview of specific project-based learning components in conjunction with ISSN resources. Explore the use of SAGE and the Performance Assessment Design Shells as elements necessary to support students in Taking Action. Participants will interact with each other to discuss challenges and successes of project implementation. Participants will leave with exposure to a number of ISSN resources and an understanding of the essential project-based learning components necessary to empower students to Take Action on Global issues.
This is a presentation from the teacher Rocío Bautista from IES Camilo Jose Cela. I uploaded it so that my students and everyone interested in this topic can find it. Really good for bilingual history 2nd ESO when learning about the Iberian Peninsula during 8th to 11th centuries and Al- Andalus.
Maps about the expansion of Islam and the Al Andalus´s evolution in the Iberian Peninsula. Also, some images from Alhambra and the Great Mosque of Cordoba.

Directed by Laura Fidler, this half-day workshop helps participants use the NAF curriculum as the foundation for project-based learning. Through a combination of direct instruction and hands-on
group work, participants will plan, design and receive peer feedback on an engaging and rigorous project using the Buck Institute for Education model and tools. Participants should bring their laptops, as well as the scopes and sequences.

Project based learning approach a real expereinceRajeev Ranjan
“Project Based Learning; a Real Learning Experience” ” is an integrated learning approach. A project is meaningful if it fulfils two criteria. First, students must perceive it as personally meaningful, as a task that matters and that they want to do well. Second, a meaningful project fulfils an educational purpose. Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2. In Project Based Learning, students go
through an extended process of inquiry in
response to a complex question, problem, or
challenge. Essential Elements of PBL include:
◦ Significant content
◦ 21th century competences
◦ In- Depth inquiry
◦ Driving question
◦ Need to know
◦ Voice and choice
◦ Revision and reflection
◦ Public audience
3. They are focused on “know how to do
something”. This methodology fits
perfectly in key competences.
http://www.slideshare.net/jpla23/key-
competences-in-the-spanish-education-system
They are more motivating for students
(they learn because they need to solve
something)
They involve colaborative work (their
work depends on other´s people work,
something they will have to face in life)
4. CONS:
- Need of time to develop the different parts
of the project.
- The educational system is not flexible
enough for projects, so we have to adapt the
projects to the requirements of the school,
schedule, etc.
5. 1.-INTRODUCTION: Encourages them to do it.
2.-PROCESS: The explanation of every step,
every task they have to follow to get to the
final product.
3.-THE FINAL PRODUCT: this is not only all
the activities they have done, this is
something they have to ELABORATE.
4.-ASSESSMENT: It has to be clear from
scratch what is going to be important, what is
the aim and also what are the main aspects to
take into account.
6.
7.
8.
9. In this part, you need to explain carefully to
your students what they have to do and how.
This part involves researching and also
activities that led them to elaborate the final
product.
10.
11.
12.
13. The final product is what you want to achieve
having finished all the previous tasks. The
main point about projects is precisely this
one: this is not a bunch of disconnected task;
every different task led you to a step in the
process to create SOMETHING: It can be a
poster (a traditional one or a poster online
using Glogster), a podcast (for example, an
interview on a radio programme), a exhibition
on a museum or on a tourism agency
exhibition, it can be a story book.

19. Three different tools to assess the
project:
◦ 1.- Assessement of the students´s work:
Rubric:
.
20. 2.- Peer to Peer assessment: involves paying more
attention to the other student´s work, taking the
responsability of deciding whether it is right or not.
3.- Self- assessment tool: Students reflect on their
own work and tend to be more critical with
themselves than with other students
21.
22. Peer to peer assessment: everyone assess
other student´s work. As they have to reflect
on other´s students and they know the
teacher is going to take their marks into
account, they take it seriously.
23.
24. Using blog, or websites like sribd, slideshare,
you can also borrow some ideas that can
inspire you to create your own project for
your specific students or just carry out that
project.
