This project teaches students key knowledge about likes/dislikes, present simple tense, writing commands, and conducting surveys. Students will create an original recipe which requires critical thinking and problem solving skills. The project uses both individual and collaborative methodologies. Students will ask questions to complete various "missions" like learning activities and explain their learning process in a diary. Creating an original recipe connects to students' real world experiences of reading and following recipes. Students are given creativity and choice in browsing websites to clarify ideas before their project. They will reflect on each mission in their diary and receive feedback, including during weekends. The final product is a published recipe book shared online to demonstrate students' work and the effectiveness of textbook-less teaching.
