a daily basis. The knowledge Management Officer has built trackers per section, digital routing,
Microsoft outlook, sharing of calendars. The sharing of the calendars allows other personnel to
view and connect at any time. If the system has an update it provides an alert. The alert notifies
individuals of any updated changes to the library, tracker, or any document.
The Knowledge Management Officer conducts a monthly meeting with the Representatives for
each section/ unit. During this meeting they discuss any updates, or issues the sections may
experience.

Marketing Advertisement Of An Advertisement Movement
1. Introduction
Advertisement not only gives evidence to the customers but also excites demand, creates disparity
and brings brand loyalty. Any marketing advertisement movement will have two basic objectives,
i.e., to inform the prospective customers and to persuade them. For example, when a bank comes
out with a new product, it makes it target customer segment aware of it only through marketing
advertisement. It may be in several shapes like a press advertisement, a sales movement, Word of
Mouth (WOM), personal communication, direct mailing to customer, etc. Usually, advertisement
mix is a blend of these actions and other sales advertisement devices. Making the customer aware
may be adequate for settling a firm s deal if the product is exclusive or in great mandate. However,
this may not be so all the time. So, the second central objective of an advertisement movement is to
convince the customer to buy their product in penchant to other similar products existing in the
market. Now, this persuasion, too, can be in diverse ways, for instance, by working on a
demonstrative plane, by an objective presentation of paybacks of the product, by recognising the
product with some strong need of the customer, etc. Marketing announcement can be driven by
other secondary objectives, like image building of the institute, promoting growth of a nascent
industry, etc. But the two objectives mentioned at the beginning are the most fundamental
objectives, governing all other derived

Argumentative Essay On Vladimir Putin
In recent times, no one can take total power by force alone; you must offer something favorable to
the people in order to obtain support. Unfortunately, there are some countries that follow a
dictatorship system, which is a form of government that includes social and political power to
ensure that the individual s capability remains strong. Vladimir Putinis a contemporary dictator of
Russia. His rebelliousness as a child has led him to his leadership. His cold heartedness to his
rivals and invasion towards countries has led to an opposition towards him. Vladimir Putin s
experience as a street thug led him to his leadership, which easily rose him to power: Not only has
he committed crimes against humanity, but he has made groups of people and countries oppose him.
First of all, Putin had a very unique background. Masha Gessen, Russian and American journalist,
author, translator and activist who has been an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir
Putin, claims that ВЁPutinЕ› leadership resulted from his experience as a street thugВЁ (Gessen
1). Putin was not interested in school or the idea of success. When he was growing up, he
always found himself in fistfights. He would fight anyone who disrespected him in any way
shape or form, such as scratching them, biting them, and even ripping their hair off. Putin began
looking for a place where he could learn skills to complete his will to fight. He found Sambo, which
is a Soviet martial art. Sambo had changed his life from a

The Rise And Demise Of The Postwar Social Structure Of...
In the article, Power, Accumulation, and Crisis: The Rise and Demise of the Postwar Social
Structure of Accumulation by David M. Gordon et.al, the authors introduces capitalists
economies and the crisis an economy can face. The two main reasons for crisis can be a
capitalist class which is too powerful or too fragile. In Keynesian conditions, a powerful capitalist
class will create several changes in aggregate demand (AD decreases). In a fragile capitalist class,
the worker income will decrease the rate of exploitation, profits and investments will be minimized.
Karl Marx, definition about the crisis was different from Keynesian terms. Marx argued that the
first crisis refers to the comprehension of surplus and the second crisis refers to the manufacture of
surplus value, all these crises are characterized by demand and supply side. Demand side refers to
the activity causing short term fluctuations in the demand of goods and services. Supply side
refers to efficiently growth created by dropping out barriers for people to produce goods and
services and at the same time it creates invest in capital. The effect of these crises was similar, in
both crises there will be a failure in the rate of profit, a decrease in the level of investment, a
reduction in the rate of growth in demand and output (Gordon et.al, 1996). The United States faced
a demand side crisis during the Great Depression of 1930. These crises brought negative effects to
the capitalist economy, some of these

Juveniles Should Be Sent To Adult Prison
There are a lot of people out there who commit crimes, people of different race and age. I
agree that at whatever age that the crime is committed that the punishment should be the same for
every criminal. Everyone has different opinions on whether juveniles or teens should be sent to
adult prison and my opinion is that they should be sent to adult prison. I have my reasons for saying
this.
When adults commit a crime they know what they are doing, they know what they are getting
themselves into, and they know what possible punishment they could get. When teens commit a
crime they have just as much responsibility as an adult has when committing a crime. As Marjie
Lundstrom says in Kids are Kids , They are kids that is, until they foul up. Until they commit
crimes. And the bigger the crime, the more eager we are to call them adults. In this quote I believe
her words because there are some kids out there that do worse crimes than adults and there are kids
that commit crimes when some adults don t commit crimes at all. Kids are kids until they commit
crimes.
Age doesn t matter when either adults or teens are committing a crime because either way a crime
was committed and there are people out there of different ages ... Show more content on

and growth is fastest in the exact parts the kids need to learn skills at different times. He is
starting that the brains of teens don t develop as fast as adults brains, but that doesn t make it a
good counterargument. It doesn t make a good counterargument because if a teen s brain isn t as
developed as an adult brain why would they commit the same crimes an adult does. Exactly my

Letter To A Union Soldier
I was doing my daily chores, that I do everyday. Not knowing of what was ahead of me. I sat
down with my family and the table and had a nice breakfast, Sausage and a small piece of bread
with my wife, son and daughter. Than I was off to do my chores. I would clean the horse pin, and
work on our farm out in the backyard.Than soon after that I went to the market to get some foodfor
dinner and 3 tiny gifts for my children and wife, for a nice surprise, by the time I got back it was
nearly dark and my wife, Marry was preparing our dinner. Right when we all sat down we heard a

How Does Political Comedy Affect Participation
Participation is the platform of our democratic system, without it, democracy does not work.
Each year brings a new wave of voters, turning 18, that the politicians hope to get a vote out of.
Most of the younger voters, do not turn to hard news to get their information. Instead, they look
to soft news to receive their information. The soft news category encompasses late night news
television, such as Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and John Oliver. In this paper, I will explore the
implications of John Oliver s Last Week Tonight on voter participation. In this paper, I will argue
that political comedies will affect participation. I will discuss the different late night shows, Jon
Stewart, Steven Colbert, and John Oliver, but I will focus more specifically on John Oliver... Show

On the other hand, many have also feared that we watch late night comedic news shows and

political satyr shows are increasing participation. One way this is done is through late night TV
shows as a gateway to traditional news. Specifically, with the help of Lauren Feldman and
Dannagal Goldthwaite Young s paper LateNight Comedy as a Gateway to Traditional News, I
will explore this as one reason why political comedy shows affect participation. There are varying
reasons as to how the content of these shows fosters participation. We expect that exposure to
political comedies will encourage political participation because it makes politics fun. These types
of shows build a community of followers Cao and Brewer claim, Such shared experience or
opinion may, in turn, facilitate collective action among the public. Moreover, jokes made at the
expense of political candidates can encourage participation. This negative information can serve as

The Effects Of Drug Abuse On Our Life
This essay will be written to raise awareness into the idea of drug abuse and what causes it as this
is a growing issue within adolescents in our world today. This essay will help to inform people into
the negative impact drugs can have on your life and to also outline how an individual can refrain
from such acts. It is worthy of investigation due to the fact that it will enable one to gain a greater
understanding through science and research about how an individual within the aforementioned
age group can be influenced by differing factors, which ultimately lead to consumption of drugs.
The essay aims to ensure individuals refrain from conforming to the underlying contention of drugs
as a negative substance.

Teenagers and young adults choose to take drugs for many different reasons and these include: To
fit in, to escape from pressures, to relieve boredom, to seem grown up, to rebel, to experiment (drug
free world 2006)
Many teenagers feel as though consuming drugs acts as a solution to their problems. However, the
drugs usually become a major problem affecting their life as the years pass on. Drugs soon become
an addiction and lead people s life astray. The addiction itself can be considered a brain disease
because drugs change the function and structure of the brain (NIH, 2014). The brain is made up
of a variety of parts that all interconnect to take out a specific job. When drugs are consumed they
cause the brain to stop functioning in the way that it usually does. Drugs can affect three
primary areas of the brain and these include: The brain stem, the cerebral cortex and the limbic
system. (Brain and addiction, 2014) For most people the initial decision to consume or inject any
type of drug is voluntary. However, over time, drug use can cause changes to the brain and this
can take away peoples self control and therefore limit their ability to make sound decisions in
certain circumstances. There are many biological and socio cultural factors that do indeed play a
role in drug use, and this essay will attempt to explain these factors with reference to relevant
research studies.

The Moving of the Lim Family Documentary Essay
Singapore experiences a land constraint and with the rising population, there are an almost
desperate calls for more housing estates as well as more facilities even if that means calling on the
dead.
It might seem like any other year families getting ready before light of dawn to go and pay their
respects to the dead during Qing Ming festival. However, arming themselves with shovels,
buckets and other necessities, the Chew family marches solemnly into the peaceful serenity of
Woodlands Graveyard at 6 in the morning, heading towards the graves of Chew Teck Huat and
Chew Xu Hui. This year s Qing Ming festival is different and a tint of dread hangs in the air.

After safely removing the fragile bones, the process of cleaning up the area starts. The respectful
silence settles again as jackhammers slam into the said graves tombstone, shattering them into huge
chunks of marble pieces. However, this ends in a much shorter time, to rush through the heart
breaking process of destroying something so dear to the family.
The possibility of a thunderstorm during the monsoon season, which clashes with Qing Ming
Festival, might bring up the age old superstition of it being inauspicious to ungrave the dead. Feng
Huat, the second son, gives his emotional opinions on the exhumation as they make their hushed
journey to the columbarium. The Sun has almost set when the Lim family finally reaches Mandai
Columbarium, the unfortunate celebration almost coming to an end.
Professional cremators takes over the process and produces ashes from the bones of Teck Huat
and Xu Hui and places each into their respective urns. The family would then pick an auspicious
niche to place these two new urns as a new home for the remains of Feng Huat s parents, along with
tens and hundreds of other remains.

describe phenomenological approach as an approach that considers the nature or meaning of
something, and the questions are all about the essence and not about the look. Therefore,
information is composed through a diversity of means which are: focus groups, diaries, videotape

Unrealistic Love Essay
We all wish to have that magical moment a moment that just leaves you in awe and feelings that
are indescribable. A couple of seconds that your heart just beats faster and faster and there s no
stopping the excitement, the happiness, the butterflies. Sounds like it was just taken out of a love
song, right? Truth of the matter is that lovesongs influence young culture on how love should feel
and create this stereotype that love is nothing but a moment filled with passion and desires. But
reality is that s not always the case and these songs set up unrealistic measures such as, a passionate
moment or falling in love solely on physical attraction; and if you don t achieve that moment or are

Summary: Today was a fairytale Today was a fairytale , is a 4:01 song written by Taylor Swift
, and
produced by Nathan Chapman used in the soundtrack for major motion picture Valentine s Day.
The song describes exactly the title, a young girl who felt like a princess when she went out with
her prince charming on a magical date. The song describes a scenario in where she wore a pretty
dress and he wore a dark grey t shirt. She knew she loved him just by a simple glare, the way he
kissed her, how he made her heart beat faster and cause time to slow down due to his presence.
Analysis
The song basically describes the perfect date and all these emotions that are supposed to be felt to
indicate that you love the person. The artist adds classical elements and modern day elements to
her song making it more relatable to teens and also causing them to remember memories of when
they were kids watching Snow White and wishing one day they will be that princess. The artist

Comparing the Great Flood in Epic of Gilgamesh and the...
Comparing the Great Flood in Epic of Gilgamesh and the Biblical story of Noah s Ark Many of
the same ancient stories can be found in different cultures. Each story differs in a small way, but
the general idea remains synonymous. One story that is paralleled in several cultures is the
legend of a great flood. The epic of Gilgamesh resembles the Bible s story of Noah s Ark, but
specific details differ in several aspects. The story of Gilgamesh originates from twelve fire
hardened, mud tablets, written in cuneiform, in the Mesopotamian culture from around 2500
B.C.E. It has been passed down through generations for centuries, teaching obedience to gods. The
story of Noah s Ark, found in the Christian Bible, seems to do the... Show more content on

Gilgamesh brought his family on the boat as well, but he also brought all the craftsmen that
helped to build it, (relg studies). This is a huge difference between the stories. The craftsmen
were an added group that reproduced and passed on their skills. Noah only took his family,
relying on God to provide them with the necessary items that they could not produce. There
were not any other people on board. Therefore, the corruption of this world is thought to come
from one of Noah s sons, descending down through him. If Gilgamesh brought craftsmen on the
boat, this is a new place to lay the blame for today s violence. The next discrepancy lies in the
amount of time it rained. Noah s story emphasized rain for forty days and forty nights. The
number forty also appears in several other biblical stories. Gilgamesh s rainfall lasts for just six
days and nights. However, the numerical system of the Mesopotamians is based on the numbers
six, ten, and sixty. So the story directly relates to the numerical system of the time, (Lecture, 9/13
/1999). Perhaps this number was adopted because of its wide use. Upon the arrival on the
mountain top, each man sent out a dove, which returned because it found no place to land. Then,
Gilgamesh sent out a swallow, which also returned. When Gilgamesh sent out a raven, it did not
return. He knew the raven had found a place to land and food to live off of. So the

Examples Of Psychoanalysis In Alien
C. Psychoanalysis as a political weapon in Alien
i. Male action and female inaction There are two major examples of male activeness and female
passiveness in Alien: the chestburster scene and the differences between Ripley and Dallas as the
protagonist. In the iconic chestburster scene the crew are seated peacefully as they prepare to
return to stasis, however this peace is disturbed when Kane convulses and a chestburster bursts out
of him. Only the male characters are active in this scene: Parker and Dallas initially comfort and
hold Kane down, Brett holds Kane s legs down, and Ash runs from the other side (farther aways
then Ripley and Lambert) to help. Ripley and Lambert initially reach out towards Kane but
eventually watch in horror as the alien bursts from him. Dallas, Parker, and Brett were closer to
Kane than Ripley so they have more reason for helping; and Ash is the science officer so it makes
sense for him to rush towards a medical emergency. Switching one of the male characters with a
female character could have expounded on the seriousness of the scene (before the arrival of the
chestburster).
While subtle, the difference between the actions taken by Dallas and Ripley exemplify the
heterosexual differences in labor. Dallas protagonist is constantly in motion: investigating the
signal, defending Ripley from the dead facehugger, and hunting the alien in the vents. Ripley s
actions as protagonist are less active, especially since she follows Dallas vent plan and

Theme can be defined as a central insight. According to the authors of The Art of Watching Films,
a theme in a literary work or film should be universal and should be one that challenges people

You think if Catherine lives, you won t wake up in the dark ever again to that awful screaming
of the lambs (Demme, 1991). Clarice claims she doesn t know and it is possible she truly doesn
t, but we can see in her face that wants it to be true. We see the pain in her face and her desire to
be released from the screaming and find peace. Director Jonathan Demme lets us connect with
the characters by shattering the fourth wall. He positions the camera so Clarice is essentially
talking to the audience in extreme close up shots. This technique instills her anguish into the
audience. Clarice then becomes more demanding, asking for the killer s name but before
Hannibal can answer Dr. Frederick Chilton informs her it s time to go. She is nearly dragged out
of the room, but breaks free to run back to Hannibal s cage and retrieve her case files. The visual
style up to this point in the scene has been dark, but when Clarice rushes to the cage, there is light
illuminating Hannibal. Clarice running towards this light represents her search for peace. She is
hoping the clues left by Dr. Lecter in the case files will enable her to catch the killer, save the
kidnapped girl, and stop the lambs from screaming.
The Silence of the Lambs is traditionally considered a horror film. However, it is more than that. It
is a great reference to sociology because it touches on so many topics important to people (Kim,
2010). Throughout the movie we

The Path Of An Instructional Designer Because
When I joined the United State Air Force in 2004, I quickly learned how easy it is to pass the
blame. I noticed early in my military career, that broken processes were often ignored.
Meanwhile, the person at the tactical level of the process was blamed for the result. After all the
punishments are dealt out, new employees are assigned to the project, and all the smoke clears, the
same problems seem to persist. When I suspect a process is inefficient, I feel a strong urge to find
out why these issues exist and then find solutions. This is often a pursuit that puts me at odds with
some supervisors, but cherished by some subordinates. It s not hard for me to recognize that most
employees want to excel at their jobs. Unfortunately, their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Teaching students to work on the B 52 aircraft in Minot, North Dakota during the dead of winter
bears some unique challenges. It takes a strong leadership ability to motivate students to perform
hands on task while enduring 30 degree below zero temperatures. In the Air Force s Non
Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) I was awarded the Distinguished Graduate for displaying
that level of leadership.
I feel that underneath all the positional authorities of leadership, the true test is the ability to
empower people. This is the reason why I want to not only learn how to use technology in an
education setting; I also want to improve the lives of students with leadership. I believe that the
educational technology leadership program at George Washington University is the only program
that perfectly meshes the two together. In my opinion, human performance is the key to learning.
However, it seems as though education sometimes focuses on the information that needs to be
taught instead of the outcomes. Dr. Watkins publication highlighted this theory in previous work by
Robert Mager. Watkins (2010) stated instructional designers should move beyond determining what
instructors should teach; rather, they should focus on understanding what learners should be able to
do as a result of the instruction. Technology can serve as an excellent starting point for student
centered learning.
Technology and leadership are the two elements that draw me to this program. There are

Compare And Contrast New England And Massachusetts Bay...
During the 17th and 18th centuries, many English colonists settled into colonies in America,
otherwise known as the New World . There were many reasons to do so, whether it be for
economic benefit or to avoid religious persecution. These original 13 colonies began developing
fast with the help from the English, growing population wise and government wise. Two specific
areas included the New England and Chesapeake colonies. The Chesapeake colonies included
Maryland and Virginia, while the colonies of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and
the Massachusetts Bay colony were part of the New England colonies. These two colonial
societies shared a few similarities regarding the development of their religion and economy, they
also had a few differences. Religion plays a major part in many societies, especially the first 13
colonies. Some colonies were even settled solely to have freedom of religion and escape from
religious persecution. Massachusetts was one example, as the Puritans first went to Plymouth in
1620 seeking religious freedom. In terms of the New England colonies overall, they remained
Puritan. The idea of religious toleration was restricted to only the Puritan religion. A goal of theirs
was to establish a city on a hill , which they succeeded at by having an atmosphere of watchfulness
and helping each other. John Winthrop, a Puritan, served as the first Massachusetts Bay Colony
governor. Anyone who did not follow this religion were known as

What Is The Doctrine Of Double Effect
The Doctrine of Double Effect is the process in which someone must sacrifice some bad to
achieve more good. According to Alison McIntyre of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy
(2014) defines the concept as The doctrine (or principle) of double effect is often invoked to
explain the permissibility of an action that causes a serious harm, such as the death of a human
being, as a side effect of promoting some good end . This is often referred to in the military as
collateral damage . While your goal is to not have any unintended casualties, if the threat is so
great that you must take the chance and harm civilians, you take it. Thomas Scanlon s view on
the Doctrine of Double Effect is that it is never justified to take a life regardless of the good that
may come of it (Lippert Rasmussen Kasper, 2010). Scanlon s view is that the concept is black and

Clubs Vs. Casinos
Las Vegas is home to some of the most profitable clubs and casinos in the entire world. Many of
these firms manage to profit exorbitantly despite residing in markets that have some competitive
characteristics (such as fragmented industry and relatively undifferentiated products). Although
both types of firms are often very successful, there are stark differences between the two. One
significant difference between clubs and casinos is the price of alcohol. At Vegas casinos drinks
are typically very cheap (often times even complimentary), but at clubs across the street they are
quite expensive. Naturally, one might ask why this difference in prices exist. Fortunately, with a

The odds are in the favor of the house over the long run, particularly when it comes to games of
chance. Games like keno, roulette, and craps earn casinos millions of dollars each year. A drink
may be sold at a price lower than it cost to produce, but the casino still profits from its sale. The
alcohol does not cost the casinos much and it leads to gamblers staying longer and making poor
decisions. Games of skill (i.e. Poker) are subject to far less house advantage, but alcohol typically
neutralizes any skill a gambler may have. Casino s are well aware of this and employ price
discrimination as well; they tend to serve alcohol to naГЇve tourists rather than experienced locals.
Casinos frequently price discriminate in the first degree as they charge a different price for every
unit consumed. This practice actually leads to the marginal revenue of alcohol increasing at some
points. At a certain point the marginal revenue of alcohol diminishes as people either become
rowdy or too intoxicated to gamble, but usually the casino has already

Liberal Democracy In Canada
When evaluating the liberal democracy or constitutional monarchy in Canada it is imperative to
identify that the Canadian governing system cannot unambiguously be either correct or incorrect.
Hence, Canada s democratic system functions well enough; nonetheless it would further benefit
from adopting a Nordic democratic socialist model as well as adopting a proportional
representation electoral system. A Nordic democratic system would benefit the citizens by
providing them with universal health care, closely similar wages, free and inexpensive education,
public pension plans, and virtually free trade. Second, if Canada is to adopt a proportional
representation system the citizens will be better represented. Despite these flaws in the liberal...

This is an often overlooked freedom because one may forget that this freedom is not a freedom
that every individual has. Specifically in many third or second world countries, people are
eradicated because of their opinions or request for freedom and reform. Something as simple as
civil disobedience has severe consequences in these countries. On the other hand, in Canada there
are little to no consequences for civil disobedience or requesting the government to change their
decision. Furthermore, in a sense the government allows pressure groups to be formed, and non
government organizations to help other s lives. Additionally, courts in Canada are open to those
who wish to challenge the laws. Finally, the media is not censored for those who wish to promote
their beliefs. In many totalitarian countries, people are unknowingly snatched of the right to think
on their own, and demand reform. As a result, though the Canadian liberal democracy may have
flaws, the rights and freedoms that are often overlooked affect the everyday lives of the citizens and

How Is Henry David Thoreau A Transcendentalism
Henry David Thoreau
Being unique has always been valued in modern American Culture. Especially in the age of
smartphones and social media, people are encouraged to take the untrodden path. In the 1800s,
being unique was not as popular as it is today. People with different views than the majority, were
seen as not ideal. Henry David Thoreau s writing and abolitionist views pushed the boundaries that
surrounded the ways of protesting, writing, and thinking during his time. He was a
Transcendentalist that took different approaches on ways he looked at nature and society. His
works and actions inspired passionate and revolutionary reformers such as Martin Luther King Jr.
and Mohandas Gandhi, and still inspires reformers to this day. Henry David Thoreau impacted the

American War. He also explained his experience on doing his own peaceful protest by not paying
his taxes in disagreement of the Mexican American War (A E Television Networks). Thoreau
suffered the consequences of his protest, by spending one day in jail (A E Television Networks).
Furthermore, the quote, The only obligation which I have a right to assume is to do at any time

Comparing Story Of An Hour And The Yellow Wallpaper
The Story of An Hour by Kate Chopin and The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
criticize the oppression of women in the 1800s American society. Both stories portray married
women as restricted to do anything other than to obey their husbands to become a housewife.
Chopin begins her story with a protagonist, named Louise, and her sister Josephine tells her news
about her husband s death during the railroad accident. She feels so excited that she is no longer
controlled by her husband. Therefore, she grants her freedom from her husband and ultimately her
marriage. When her husband reappears, she could not accept the fact that her freedom is once
again taken away by her husband. Her joy is the reason that she is dead at the end.... Show more

This is an example of institutional discrimination that women faced during the 1800s, which
denied women from access to opportunities. For instance, Gilman cannot make her decision as a
woman on her own, but she has to follow her husband s order to take mental illness treatment.
According to An Overview of The Yellow Wallpaper, Rena Korb says, Gilman chronicles what
happens to a woman forced to succumb to the Rest Cure and thus, to her inflexible position in
society as a prisoner of the domestic sphere (2). A traditional woman like Gilman has no authority
over her husband. In addition, others always view the narrator as a mother and a housewife. Thus,
her identity remains the same no matter what. Furthermore, Korb writes, Gilman s narrator is so
cruelly trapped both by the conventions of nineteenth century American society, which says that a
woman s function is to bear and raise children, and by her husband s inflexible belief in this code.
John has attempted to take away one of the few things that bring her consistent pleasure, her
writing (3). During the 1800s in the United States, men and women expected to have the same
notion that women are reproductive tools. A woman s objective is to produce babies for the
family and educate their kids to behave properly. Likewise, Gilman s husband has the same point
of view like many other

The Day Of My Grandfather
From the moment we are born, we begin to die. This is a piece of information we all learn in life
but for some, we learn this lesson too soon. When I was 12 years old, I learned that my
grandfather was very sick with a threatening illness that would snatch the air from his lungs. My
grandfather had Stage IV lung cancer. Over the course of the Summer of 2006, I watched the
once statuesque man that was my grandfather grow frail and disappear before my eyes. If I was
not in his home, we were at the hospital or doctor s office running test after test. Each time a
different angel with scrubs, better known as a nurse, would come into his room to check on him.
Whenever these angels were around, I felt a sense of calm come over the room. Being... Show more

They explained that cancer is a rapid growing disease that may eventually cause him to pass
away. I was confused and had never experienced death before. I did not, at the moment,
understand the magnitude of what was occurring around me. Everyday life continued without a
blip. My grandparents and I would go to the movies, the beach, and to local diners. The first few
weeks were filled with laughs and love until one day my grandfather collapsed while out at the
store with my grandmother and me. The ambulance came to take him to the local hospital where
he was admitted and later seen by his oncologist who told him that he did not have much time left.
I started to understand what was happening and had a nurse hold my hand while I cried in the
hallway. I was scared for the unknown for him and my family. What would the world be like
without my grandfather in it? , Who would be there to take care of my grandmother? a million
questions darted through my head but I felt the uncontrollable need to always be strong in his
presence.
The end of summer was filled with an endless cycle of doctors appointments and hospital visits.
Each time a different nurse would grace my family with their presence. They always had skillful
hands when drawing blood and a gentle touch when comforting one of my family members. I would
spend much of my time talking to these unbelievably kind people and they always had just that
extra moment to spare for me. On August 4th, 2006, on the

My Goals To Become An Elementary School Teacher
Trip to College It has been my dream since Elementary School to become an Elementary School
teacher. The decision to attend college has not always been an easy decision. I have many goals to
obtain my college degree. I have had many conversations about attending college. Some
conversations being very helpful and persuasive, some being very negative and nerve wrecking.
The schoolthat I chose to attend in the end was Alabama State University. I promised myself that
this school will make me the best teacher since I chose my favorite teacher. Choosing my career,
that was not entirely easy. Back in Elementary School, I had a couple of teachers that were very
good to me. They are who began to make my mind think and wonder about if this job would make
a good career for me. It was not only my Elementary School teachers who helped convince me.
There were some middle schoolteachers and a couple high schoolteachers who persuaded me.
These teachers taught me with passion in their hearts. There was nothing but patience and love in
their teaching. They taught me the different ways you can teach and get the lesson across to
your students. I have kept their ways of teaching in mind for the days when it is time to work
towards my degree. Watching my different teachers over the years have given me different
reasons to want this career. Becoming what I wanted to be was the main goal. The goal was
always to become what I wanted to no matter what it took. Being a teacher, I knew would be a

Issues and Trends in the Global Value Chain
Global trends are changing on a seemingly daily basis. Global economies are weakening and some
companies are discouraged by the condition of terror threats that are occurring. These threats are
changing the spending behavior of the average customer. Not only is the customer not purchasing
because of the economy, but businesses face the threat of shipments not being secure or not
arriving in a timely manner. To lower cost, and increase benefits, the lean Six Sigmaapproach will
benefit companies by improving strategies and tactics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Political Identity Of India And Pakistan
Political Identity of Nationalism in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan: Introduction: Political

The Importance Of Gender Equality In Society
Gender equality will NOT ever be completely achievable because there will always be
differences between woman and man such as biological differences as well as gender roles and
expectations in society. Although the idea of what a woman and what a man should be has
changed over time, stereotypes still exist that make a clear distinction between the two. Stereotypes
still exist due to many generations of how children have been raised. For as long as humans have
been on this earth, inequality has always been evident between genders and that has laid the
foundation for beliefs in societies. To conclude, because segregation has existed, it will continue to
exist.
Throughout time, gender roles have always been evident as they have developed at such an early
time in human history and continues to remain. Children have been raised under the idea that
men and women are different. For example, in the Roman era, males were raised to be tough
warriors and females were solely recognized for their only role in society to raise a family and
look after the home (Cartwright, Mark 1). Little girls were essentially taught that they had a
limited role in society and that their only purpose is to find a man and reciprocate his actions.
Anything else such as political relations, women were not allowed to participate in. Found in
paragraph 12 of the article The Role of Women in the Roman World it states, Roman males did not
think women their equal but neither did they hate them. The story echoes the important role
women played in linking families in Roman society their family of birth and then of marriage.
(Cartwright, Mark 1) This is actually a standard that has remained throughout history. Exploring
further back into the past of civilization, gender roles can even be found in Aztec culture. In
paragraph 3 of Gender Roles in Aztec Culture Social Constructs it explains, Gender
complementarity was a prominent aspect of Aztec culture considering women and men to be
different but equally important to the whole of society. (Glynnis 1) This reveals that even as early
as the time when tribes like the Aztecs reigned, gender still determined a person s place in society.
Elaborated in paragraph 4 of the same article, Women

Tetrahydrocannabinol Essay
Marijuana s active ingredient is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) it contains a chemical compound
called cannabinoids which are naturally found in the human anatomy. THC affects the central
nervous system by binding to cannabinoid receptors that are present in the brain which triggers a
euphoric response. The active ingredient in marijuana is quickly absorbed by the blood and has an
immediate effect on the brain and other drugs. The drug comes from the hemp plant Cannabissativa
and it s the seeds and leaves that are used and also the flowers are usually dried. (Above the
Influence, 2015)
THC resembles a neurotransmitter anandamide and mimics its actions. When THC binds to
cannabinoid receptors it removes the refractory period in neurons. Refractory period is when
excitable cells are not able to respond to stimuli as the cell needs to recover after firing an action
potentials. The refractory period also ensures that the action potential are transmitted in one
direction. When THC binds to cannabinoids receptors it prevents the refractory period from
occurring which results in action potentials constantly being fired and this causes thoughts,
thinking and imagination to amplify. Another effect that occurs is that an individual is unable to
retain memories. (Intheknowzone.com, 2015)
The behavioural changes that occurs when a person takes marijuana is that it impairs judgment and
reasoning skills for example individuals that take marijuana on a regular basis and these individuals

Stephen Crane s The Open Boat Essay
Stephen Crane s The Open Boat
Humanity often tends to see itself as being somehow important in the grand scheme of the
Universe. We speak of fate as if we were put here for some reason, or purpose. We have our
religions, which often serve as an engine to drive our lives and as a means to give meaning to
them. But why do we think of ourselves in such a superior fashion? Do we really matter at all?
Would the Universe stop if we were suddenly taken away? In his short story, The Open Boat,
Stephen Crane shows us a Universe totally unconcerned with the affairs of humankind; it is an
indifferent Universe in which Man has to struggle to survive. The characters in the story come face
to face with this indifference and are nearly overcome ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The men, however, seem removed from the clockwork of their surroundings; seperate, but
somehow in the midst of everything happening around them. This indifference causes the men to
feel a certain isolation from nature. They even go as far as to think of the Universe as being
hostile: [The waves were] nervously anxious to do something effective in the way of swamping
boats. (1) This is, however, just normal activity of nature, not any act of agression against Man.
Although the men are pitted against an uncaring sea, they still at this point seem to think their
destinies are controlled by some outside force. Their collective thoughts are given: If I am
going to be drowned if I am going to be drowned if I am going to be drowned, why, in the name
of the seven mad gods who rule the sea, was I allowed to come thus far and contemplate sand and
trees?...If this old ninny woman, Fate, cannot do better than this, she should be deprived of the
management of men s fortunes. (6) It soon dawns on them, though, that there is no fate, no
purpose for their being where they are. It is the realization of this fact that brings the men to the
brink of despair: When it occurs to a man that nature does not regard him as important, he at first
wishes to throw bricks at the temple, and he hates deeply the fact that there are no bricks and no
temples. (6) It seems to them that their

Jalen Life Insurance
Life insurance plays a critical role in an individual s estate planning. One of the main reasons for
this is to create liquidity or cash flow. Traditionally, assets in an estate are non liquid assets such
as business interests or personal property, including real estate. At the time of death, expenses and
estate taxes, can be overwhelming for heirs to find the cash to pay. If this is the case, then the
estate assets must be either sold or used as collateral in taking out a loan to pay the taxes. Another
factor is that estate taxes must be paid within a certain time frame, typically 6 9 months after the
estate payout. (IRS, IRS.gov, 2015)
Careful planning must be done in using life insurance to pay for estate taxes. Ownership of the

The basic trust requirements are met including that Jalen is stated as the beneficiary. Glenn
continues to contribute each year. Once Jalen reaches the age of 21, the account has now reached
$50,000 balance with growth earnings. Jalen is not finished with college, but decides he wants to
gain control of the money right now to travel and has legal rights to the trust money. (CODE)
Glenn is concerned about him having control of the money. Without coercing him, Glenn explains
to Jalen the lesson of the compound effect and that exercising his rights to take the money out will
change the terms of the trust, resulting in tax consequences for both parties. In addition to that,
Glenn would no longer be making contributions. Jalen takes thirty days to think about this. After
thirty days, Jalen decides to leave the money in the account. Because Jalen chose not to exercise
his right to the money during the stated window of thirty days after age 21, the trust is converted
to a Crummey Trust for Jalen. The Crummey Trust satisfies the requirements: all income and
principal be distributed to the beneficiary at age 21 and all income will be distributed currently. It
also meets the four factors the IRS uses in determining whether a beneficiary s withdrawal right
qualifies for gifts to a

Presbyterian Denomination Of Christianity
Presbyterian Denomination of Christianity
The Presbyterian Church is a branch of Reformed Protestantism established by John Knox. This
variant of Christianity derives its name from Presbyterian form of ecclesiastical polity. The church
is governed by representatives of elders or ministers. It also primarily follows Calvinism since Knox
was in Geneva along with Calvin and took his teachings back to Scotland where Presbyterian form

In England, Henry VIII was desiring to annul his marriage with Catherine of Aragorn and marry
Catherine Parr. However, the pope at the time did not approve of this. Because of this, he passed
Act of Supremacy in 1534 and made the king the head of Church of England. This did not affect
Scotland because it was about 70 years before the two kingdoms were united. In Scotland, John
Knox started as a Catholic priest. Historians are not very clear about the earlier life of John Knox
but in 1546, he turned away from Catholic and embraced reformation probably provoked by
Wishart s death. George Wishart was a reformist who fled to Scotland in 1538. Knox became one
of the closest associates of Wishart and deeply rooted in Protestantism. In 1546, reformists
forcefully took a garrison to take refuge. Scotland called for France for help and Knox was captured
as a onboard slave for a French galley for nearly two years. Knox was released in 1549 and returned
to England to take refuge. He was appointed one of royal chaplain for Edward VI. His position
was changed due to the reign of Mary I, so called Bloody Mary. She restored Catholicism to
England from 1553 onwards. John Knox fled to Geneva in 1554 and met Calvin. He learned more
of reformed theology and Presbyterian polity. There he wrote a series of tracts on political

  • 3. Marketing Advertisement Of An Advertisement Movement 1. Introduction Advertisement not only gives evidence to the customers but also excites demand, creates disparity and brings brand loyalty. Any marketing advertisement movement will have two basic objectives, i.e., to inform the prospective customers and to persuade them. For example, when a bank comes out with a new product, it makes it target customer segment aware of it only through marketing advertisement. It may be in several shapes like a press advertisement, a sales movement, Word of Mouth (WOM), personal communication, direct mailing to customer, etc. Usually, advertisement mix is a blend of these actions and other sales advertisement devices. Making the customer aware may be adequate for settling a firm s deal if the product is exclusive or in great mandate. However, this may not be so all the time. So, the second central objective of an advertisement movement is to convince the customer to buy their product in penchant to other similar products existing in the market. Now, this persuasion, too, can be in diverse ways, for instance, by working on a demonstrative plane, by an objective presentation of paybacks of the product, by recognising the product with some strong need of the customer, etc. Marketing announcement can be driven by other secondary objectives, like image building of the institute, promoting growth of a nascent industry, etc. But the two objectives mentioned at the beginning are the most fundamental objectives, governing all other derived ... • 4. Argumentative Essay On Vladimir Putin In recent times, no one can take total power by force alone; you must offer something favorable to the people in order to obtain support. Unfortunately, there are some countries that follow a dictatorship system, which is a form of government that includes social and political power to ensure that the individual s capability remains strong. Vladimir Putinis a contemporary dictator of Russia. His rebelliousness as a child has led him to his leadership. His cold heartedness to his rivals and invasion towards countries has led to an opposition towards him. Vladimir Putin s experience as a street thug led him to his leadership, which easily rose him to power: Not only has he committed crimes against humanity, but he has made groups of people and countries oppose him. First of all, Putin had a very unique background. Masha Gessen, Russian and American journalist, author, translator and activist who has been an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, claims that ВЁPutinЕ› leadership resulted from his experience as a street thugВЁ (Gessen 1). Putin was not interested in school or the idea of success. When he was growing up, he always found himself in fistfights. He would fight anyone who disrespected him in any way shape or form, such as scratching them, biting them, and even ripping their hair off. Putin began looking for a place where he could learn skills to complete his will to fight. He found Sambo, which is a Soviet martial art. Sambo had changed his life from a ... • 5. The Rise And Demise Of The Postwar Social Structure Of... In the article, Power, Accumulation, and Crisis: The Rise and Demise of the Postwar Social Structure of Accumulation by David M. Gordon et.al, the authors introduces capitalists economies and the crisis an economy can face. The two main reasons for crisis can be a capitalist class which is too powerful or too fragile. In Keynesian conditions, a powerful capitalist class will create several changes in aggregate demand (AD decreases). In a fragile capitalist class, the worker income will decrease the rate of exploitation, profits and investments will be minimized. Karl Marx, definition about the crisis was different from Keynesian terms. Marx argued that the first crisis refers to the comprehension of surplus and the second crisis refers to the manufacture of surplus value, all these crises are characterized by demand and supply side. Demand side refers to the activity causing short term fluctuations in the demand of goods and services. Supply side refers to efficiently growth created by dropping out barriers for people to produce goods and services and at the same time it creates invest in capital. The effect of these crises was similar, in both crises there will be a failure in the rate of profit, a decrease in the level of investment, a reduction in the rate of growth in demand and output (Gordon et.al, 1996). The United States faced a demand side crisis during the Great Depression of 1930. These crises brought negative effects to the capitalist economy, some of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone has different opinions on whether juveniles or teens should be sent to adult prison and my opinion is that they should be sent to adult prison. I have my reasons for saying this. When adults commit a crime they know what they are doing, they know what they are getting themselves into, and they know what possible punishment they could get. When teens commit a crime they have just as much responsibility as an adult has when committing a crime. As Marjie Lundstrom says in Kids are Kids , They are kids that is, until they foul up. Until they commit crimes. And the bigger the crime, the more eager we are to call them adults. In this quote I believe her words because there are some kids out there that do worse crimes than adults and there are kids that commit crimes when some adults don t commit crimes at all. Kids are kids until they commit crimes. Age doesn t matter when either adults or teens are committing a crime because either way a crime was committed and there are people out there of different ages ... However, the drugs usually become a major problem affecting their life as the years pass on. Drugs soon become an addiction and lead people s life astray. The addiction itself can be considered a brain disease because drugs change the function and structure of the brain (NIH, 2014). The brain is made up of a variety of parts that all interconnect to take out a specific job. When drugs are consumed they cause the brain to stop functioning in the way that it usually does. Drugs can affect three primary areas of the brain and these include: The brain stem, the cerebral cortex and the limbic system. (Brain and addiction, 2014) For most people the initial decision to consume or inject any type of drug is voluntary. Comparing the Great Flood in Epic of Gilgamesh and the Biblical story of Noah s Ark Many of the same ancient stories can be found in different cultures. Each story differs in a small way, but the general idea remains synonymous. One story that is paralleled in several cultures is the legend of a great flood. The epic of Gilgamesh resembles the Bible s story of Noah s Ark, but specific details differ in several aspects. The story of Gilgamesh originates from twelve fire hardened, mud tablets, written in cuneiform, in the Mesopotamian culture from around 2500 B.C.E. This is a huge difference between the stories. The craftsmen were an added group that reproduced and passed on their skills. Noah only took his family, relying on God to provide them with the necessary items that they could not produce. There were not any other people on board. Therefore, the corruption of this world is thought to come from one of Noah s sons, descending down through him. If Gilgamesh brought craftsmen on the boat, this is a new place to lay the blame for today s violence. The next discrepancy lies in the amount of time it rained. Noah s story emphasized rain for forty days and forty nights. The number forty also appears in several other biblical stories. Gilgamesh s rainfall lasts for just six days and nights. However, the numerical system of the Mesopotamians is based on the numbers six, ten, and sixty. So the story directly relates to the numerical system of the time, (Lecture, 9/13 /1999). Perhaps this number was adopted because of its wide use. Upon the arrival on the mountain top, each man sent out a dove, which returned because it found no place to land. • 15. Examples Of Psychoanalysis In Alien C. Psychoanalysis as a political weapon in Alien i. Male action and female inaction There are two major examples of male activeness and female passiveness in Alien: the chestburster scene and the differences between Ripley and Dallas as the protagonist. In the iconic chestburster scene the crew are seated peacefully as they prepare to return to stasis, however this peace is disturbed when Kane convulses and a chestburster bursts out of him. Only the male characters are active in this scene: Parker and Dallas initially comfort and hold Kane down, Brett holds Kane s legs down, and Ash runs from the other side (farther aways then Ripley and Lambert) to help. Ripley and Lambert initially reach out towards Kane but eventually watch in horror as the alien bursts from him. Dallas, Parker, and Brett were closer to Kane than Ripley so they have more reason for helping; and Ash is the science officer so it makes sense for him to rush towards a medical emergency. Switching one of the male characters with a female character could have expounded on the seriousness of the scene (before the arrival of the chestburster). While subtle, the difference between the actions taken by Dallas and Ripley exemplify the heterosexual differences in labor. Dallas protagonist is constantly in motion: investigating the signal, defending Ripley from the dead facehugger, and hunting the alien in the vents. Ripley s actions as protagonist are less active, especially since she follows Dallas vent plan and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. The Importance Of Gender Equality In Society Gender equality will NOT ever be completely achievable because there will always be differences between woman and man such as biological differences as well as gender roles and expectations in society. Although the idea of what a woman and what a man should be has changed over time, stereotypes still exist that make a clear distinction between the two. Stereotypes still exist due to many generations of how children have been raised. For as long as humans have been on this earth, inequality has always been evident between genders and that has laid the foundation for beliefs in societies. To conclude, because segregation has existed, it will continue to exist. Throughout time, gender roles have always been evident as they have developed at such an early time in human history and continues to remain. Children have been raised under the idea that men and women are different. For example, in the Roman era, males were raised to be tough warriors and females were solely recognized for their only role in society to raise a family and look after the home (Cartwright, Mark 1). Little girls were essentially taught that they had a limited role in society and that their only purpose is to find a man and reciprocate his actions. Anything else such as political relations, women were not allowed to participate in. Found in paragraph 12 of the article The Role of Women in the Roman World it states, Roman males did not think women their equal but neither did they hate them. The story echoes the important role women played in linking families in Roman society their family of birth and then of marriage. (Cartwright, Mark 1) This is actually a standard that has remained throughout history. Exploring further back into the past of civilization, gender roles can even be found in Aztec culture. In paragraph 3 of Gender Roles in Aztec Culture Social Constructs it explains, Gender complementarity was a prominent aspect of Aztec culture considering women and men to be different but equally important to the whole of society. (Glynnis 1) This reveals that even as early as the time when tribes like the Aztecs reigned, gender still determined a person s place in society. The refractory period also ensures that the action potential are transmitted in one direction. When THC binds to cannabinoids receptors it prevents the refractory period from occurring which results in action potentials constantly being fired and this causes thoughts, thinking and imagination to amplify.
