Elements Used In The Movie Pixar Short Film Presto
Clip #1: Pixar short Film Presto One of the first elements that we hear in the short animated film is
Guided Perception. An example of the element used in the short film is when the magician moves his
hand before he does a hat trick. In the short film, the swoosh sound his hand makes assumes that it is
the actual sound. Another element that you can hear during the short film is Mickey Mousing. There
are many examples of Mickey Mousing throughout the short film but an example of it being used is
when the magician gets mad at the bunny and he stomps towards him.
In the film we can also hear Leitmotif being used. An example of the element used is when the drums
go off when the magician put his hand in the hat and when he puts his hand out

Why Black People Commit Crime
Another question exists however. Why are Black individuals more likely to commit crime? This can
be confusing as to why this occurs. Both Black and white people who grow up in the same society are
capable and have the same opportunities, so why is it that black individuals have a higher crime rate.
We can figure this out by looking at examples of other first world countries and data seems to show
that major causes of crime are traced back to poverty, family conditions, and drugs. The fact is even
though many black families are living prosperous successful lives in north America they still lag
behind economic status with 35 % of African Americans living in poverty compared to 13% of all
Americans. Also 72% of black children are raised by a single

Describe A Model Of Bravery, Selflessness, Courage, And...
When describing a model of bravery, selflessness, courage, and sensibility Shun Fujimoto is an
excellent specimen. Shun participated in the 1976 Olympics hosted by Montreal, Canada. Helping
lead his fellow Japanese Olympians to a fourth dynasty, win and beating the opposition Russia. During
the floor competition, while tumbling Shun had broken his right knee. Perseverance willed Shun to
continue with not the slightest mention of pain or restriction in his movements. Performing a featured
twist from an eight foot high set of rings only to land on his broken knee with only a mere flinch
depicting his distress. Making this one of the most courageous acts in Olympic history. The motivation
shown by Shun can be explained with help from his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When this is Americanized a quote from President John F. Kennedy comes to mind Ask not what your
country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country . Shun gained the love and support from
both his teammates and his country for enduring unimaginable amounts of pain to see others succeed.
By placing his teammates before his own well being and priorities Shun shows interdependent self
construal. The interdependent self construal is based on belonging to a group or fitting in. The Asian
culture is very centered around an interdependent self construal. Being family orient is a large
expectation many in the Asian culture believe, based upon religion that one must achieve the
happiness of certain Gods and will, in turn, live their life to gain that happiness and respect.
Maintaining social connections and keeping harmony and peace is a core value in the Japanese
culture. This being a valid reasoning for Shun s ability to withstand such brutalizing pain to achieve
his goal of helping carry his teammates to victory. The interdependent self construal is a means of
valuing other opinions higher than that of your own. The respect gained from family and friends is of
higher importance to the self than that of the inner thoughts. These relationships are dependent on the
reflection of the self in terms of how one defines succeeding and bring harmony to others. When

My Opinion Of The Initial Training For The Program
Your opinion of the initial training for the program: During the winter session, we had a course in
which is intend to get students accustomed to the software, we were given a basic tax assignment to
complete. This was a great way to get used to a new software that we have never experienced before.
It was a basic return with dependents, W2 s, Interest, dividends, etc. We worked with friends to figure
out this new software which was a big help, as one may know something you don t. Prior to the
assignment, our professor (clovey) give us a link to a Youtube video in which they also explain how to
get on the site and sign up for the software. These videos is a tutorial to help you complete the basic
tax returns, but for advance, it tends to be a little more complicated. As for the tax laws training, I
think our Professor s (Clovey/ Mohammad) did an excellent job in giving us an insight of IRS rules
we need to know. We were giving Publication 4012, which is an easy guide to figure out who is
qualified or not. We read about qualified dependent s, medicaid/medicare, EIC (Earned Income
Credit), itemization, standard deduction, Education Credit and much more about these rules and
exceptions. The class was held every other sunday (two time each month), and we would have to read
prior to class on new subject so when we go in, the topic that are being covered won t confuse us. The
class are mixed with Seniors and Juniors who have or have not taken a tax course before. For the

Athletes Using Enhancement Drugs
Did you ever take banned substances to enhance your cycling performance? Lance Armstrong, seven
time Tour de France winner and cycling superstar responded, Yes ( Lance Armstrong and Oprah
Winfrey ). Lance Armstrong is just one of many professional athletes who doped to get ahead in
sports. Armstrong s guilty verdict exemplifies the efforts to punish athletes using performance
enhancing drugs. The increase in anti doping efforts is evident.
In the middle of the 20th century, a troublesome problem arose in the sports world: doping. In the
1960s, the first evidence that athletes were using performance enhancing drugs surfaced (Catlin, Fitch,
and Ljungqvist 104). Even though significant evidence prevailed that athletes used the drugs to
increase their athletic performance, there was no way to detect drug use. People did not know what to
think of the problem, but when a cyclist died at the 1960 Olympic Games from doping, sports
organizations started to take action (Catlin, Fitch, and Ljungqvist 100). Scientists went to work
looking for a way to detect performance enhancing drugs in athletes. It took several years before any
reliable drug testing methods came about. During the Fédération Internationale de Football
Association (FIFA) World Cup in 1966, the first drug test was performed (Hanstad, Smith, and
Waddington 229). In the following year, more sports organizations took a stance against drugs in
sports. Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the

Zipcar Case Study Analysis
[Case: Zipcar] Zipcar s SWOT and financial analysis a) Strengths Firstly, Zipcar seized 80% of US
market share, making it the strong player in the market. Secondly, as the company is able to acquire its
competitors (Flexcar US, Streetcar Ltd UK), they can reduce the competitors as well as gain those
market shares and customer bases from those 2 companies. Thirdly, Zipcar s customer friendly and
disruptive business model is what makes it unique. They leverages accessibility, make it available

business may find it difficult to anticipate cost of parking. Moreover, there are different preferences of
car in different markets. It is hard for a start up company to meet every need of the consumers. Finally,
the limitation of technology makes it hard for a start up company to catch up with the big players in
the market. It s probably because of the limited capital and inability to access to such innovation. With
advanced technology, the big players can easily operate their businesses and provides much
convenience more than a start up company, which results in a great distance between them to catch up

Essay on Literature Review on Unemployment
Literature Review on Unemployment
Introduction
Unemployment is recognised as one of the most challenging social problems currently facing
Australia. In the last two decades and more recently with the global recession high levels of
unemployment have become an established feature of the South Australian social and economic
landscape, with young people aged 15 to 24 years among those hardest hit by unemployment.
In the past quarter the unemployment rate in South Australia has remained steady at 5.6% (Australian
Bureau of Statistics, 2009) but this figure is volatile and may increase next month. The youth
unemployment rate, however, in South Australia remains at 21.9% with the Western and Northern
suburbs having significantly higher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The absence of employment, therefore, can mean that many people do not have vital human needs met
such as an opportunity to exercise control, to use and develop skills and have contact with others.
The research literature shows a strong association between unemployment and ill health. Some illness
is caused by unemployment whilst other health problems are exacerbated by unemployment ( Smith,
1987; Mathers Schofield,1998). An Australian summary of the health and unemployment literature by
Mathers and Schofield (1998) identified that unemployment has detrimental effects on mental health,
physical health and health related behaviours.
Mental Health
The evidence that unemployment has negative effects on mental health is strong. Mental health effects
on young unemployed people include low self esteem and confidence
( Gurney, 1980; Prause and Dooley, 1997), increased incidence of depression ( Patton and Noller,
1990; Winefield et al, 1993; West Sweeting, 1996), stress related symptoms ( Hammarstrom, 1994)
and higher levels of anxiety ( Morrell et al, 1994; West Sweeting,1996). In their study, Morrell et al
(1998) find a strong association between unemployment in young 15 to 25 year olds and youth
suicide.
Physical Health
Research has shown the links between unemployment and higher morbidity and mortality rates(
Mathers and Schofield) where health outcomes are poorer and premature deaths are

Poll Tax In Henry Thoreau s Resistance To Civil Government
Poll Tax
Poll tax, meaning a fee that has to be paid to satisfy taxpayer requirements in voting laws, and that the
only people who demonstrate financial tie to community were permitted for this kind of voting, was
the reason Henry Thoreau was arrested and sent to jail for the night. While in jail, he realized that
what had just happened to him was not right and needed to do something about it. The next day a
friend of his which happened to be his aunt paid his texas meaning he was free to go. Believe it or not,
Thoreau refused to be let out and wanted justice for what was illegally happening. Which is why he
wrote Resistance to Civil Government so everyone would read and know what was actually going on.
I believe that he presents an effective argument and fights for what he knows is right, which involved
poll tax, civil disobedience, and unjust laws.
One of Thoreau s strong argument points had to do with the whole situation of the poll tax. He didn t
see the need in people paying tax for something that they don t agree on nor want. He stopped paying
poll tax about six years ago because he believed that it supported the Mexican American war and the
expansion of slavery into the Southwest which he did not agree on. The next couple of days he was
out running errands and got arrested for that reason. Sam Staples, which was the cop who arrested
Thoreau, failed to take action against him for several years up until that day. In my opinion I feel like

Descriptive Essay About My Grandmother s House
Bright summer days usually consist of family time, going to the beach, and making lifelong memories
to be forever cherished. The smell of grilled food fills the air and it is almost as if it reaches the taste
buds of the hungry consumer; meanwhile, ice cold beverages are being chugged down to refresh their
bodies during the sweltering heat of the afternoon. The laughter of the barefooted children, both young
and old, contagiously spreads to anyone who views and hears them. Families share their love and
happiness through wide toothed grins and playful conversation. Most importantly, these places are full
of happiness and effortless fun in the bright rays of sunshine. For me, these unforgettable memories
were made at my grandma s house, or rather my happy place, during the three beautiful, fun filled
months of summer. As I cross the bumpy train tracks in Elk River, Minnesota, I start to feel happiness
arise from within me. After approximately 10 long minutes, I approach 205th Lane and a tingling
sensation comes over me when the black, unlocked gate comes into view. Grandma s house. I get out
of my car and push the screeching gate open and a winding driveway is now visual. Driving down the
rocky, black driveway the car winds through the budding apple trees, lilies, bleeding hearts, and the
large pink and white almost fluffy appearing flowers. Making my way up to my grandma s house was
like being a small child in a large candy store, there was so much excitement and exploration ahead.
Finally, after turning around a large oak tree filled with dark green leaves next to the assorted rock
garden that holds a miniature pond containing bright orange goldfish, my happy place comes into
view. Grandma Jackie s wood sided, three story house with acres of land to run and everyone s
favorite, a large inground pool with white metal siding surrounded by a dark wooden deck. My
happiness would begin in full force as the sunshine reflecting off the swimming pool catches my eye
while I walked up the cracked filled cement sidewalk. Excitedly running past the pale green gate, my
only barrier from the pool, I feel the burning sensation of the cement upon my sensitive toes as my flip
flops came off in the process. For my quick

Gambling Should be Legalized.
Gambling should be legalized
What is gambling? According to www.dictionary.com gambling is taking a risk in the hope of gaining
an advantage or a benefit. Gambling has been around for centuries and has been dated way back to
1492. People have been gambling in America ever since America was found. There are numerous
underground cards clubs and casinos all over the country and in major cities. People gamble on
everything: sports evens, dice, and cards. Even though people gamble every day in the United States,
it is still illegal. People do gamble everyday, so why is it not legal. Gambling should be legalized.
There are tons of ways to gamble. Anybody can pretty much gamble or make a bet on anything. Some
major games though are cards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gambling is the only thing that is going for Las Vegas. With out gambling no one would go, and look
at how much money Las Vegas is bring in off of the tourists coming from all over the world, all
because of gambling.
So when people do gamble where does the money go? Where gambling in legal money gets divided
up. 84% returned to the public, 15% for commission, and 1% breakage or surplus (Freeman 167). This
shows that at the racetracks 84% go back to the people who are gambling, 15% goes to the brokers,
and 1% is the breakage or surplus. That is how the money works in the racetracks. Each state deals
with the money differently though.
These percentages include the deductions for monies for both Track and State. Each state has laws
specifying the division of this percentage between Track and State. Some states use a sliding scale.
The higher the volume of business, the higher the percentage paid to the state (Freeman 166).
As shown here the state taxes are included. Also, commission is used in all racetracks, and this
provided jobs for many people.
Another good reason why gambling should be legalized is because people can make a ton of money. If
people would be smart about things they could maximizes their profits. These people are called pros.
Professional poker players, like Johnny Moss, make all their money from playing cards. Gambling, if
done right, can be easy pickings for people.

Operations Management At Sainsbury s Value Chain
Operations Management is the systematic (where everything can be defined, measured and managed)
control of processes that translates inputs into services and products (output). All the processes are
linked together to form a supply chain and all the operations are about transformations (adding value).
Two types of operation systems are used : opened and closed loop. The first one treats time (speed) as
a high priority and starts from the input, through the process to the output. In the opposite, the second
one includes a control stage between the process and the output and, a feedback at the end. In the first
part, I m going to describe briefly some of Sainsbury s operations using Porter s value chain.
Two categories of operations management exist : service or manufacturing based. Services processes
can be analysed through the customer contact matrix, the degree of labour intensity degree of
interaction and customisation, and the volume and variety against customer contact. In this case, by
delivering goods ordered online to customers from a local supermarket, Sainsbury s more like a
service process because their outputs are perishable ; there s a low customer contact (face to face or
moment of truth) ; there s a short response time (feedback is quick) ; it is labor intensive ; the quality
is not easily measured ; and there is low level of customisation (basic process). It is the downstream
part of the supply chain.
The value chain lean system starts with the inbound

It is reported that approximately 11 million people of the current work force that are under saving and
could have insufficient funds for retirement. To counteract this trend the UK government has been
actively introducing incentives to nudge individuals towards savings such as Auto enrolment, Pensions
Freedom and Lifetime ISA s. Recent changes to pension legislation, which are said to stem from years
of debate and studies that are striving for promotion of involvement of individuals when handling their
pension funds by incentivising savings. What is Financial Myopia and Hyperbolic Discounting?
Financial Myopia (short sightedness) is a behaviour observed in individuals where they prioritize short
term benefits over long term benefits. Laibson suggests that individuals are susceptible to mental
accounting and, attaching different psychological values to various types of income and assets and
also develop differing attitudes in doing so. The existence of such nature among individuals could be
due to a number of factors, for example individuals have an approximate age at which they wish to
retire and do not want to carry with them any debts into retirement or work longer than they have to.
Myopia has been subject to study and has been at the centre of different models developed to describe
savings and retirement. A form of myopia is hyperbolic discounting. Hyperbolic discounting refers to
the tendency for people to

Ego Prohibits Self-Awareness In Annie Baker s Body Awareness
Ego prohibits self awareness. In the world today many people are nervous of not fitting in with society
so they create a big ego to hide behind their flaws. This kind of growth is evident in Annie Baker s
first play Body Awareness by one of the main characters, Jared. Jared is a twenty one year old, slightly
autistic boy who still lives with his gay parents, Joyce and Phyllis. Joyce and Phyllis have been telling
Jared he has Aspergers ever since he was five years old. Throughout the play Jared shows many signs
of Aspergers, but he will not admit it to himself or allow his parents accusations to be correct. Though
Jared is conscious of these signs, he is constantly coming up with excuses in order to seem perfect for
he believes this will make his parents happy. In the dramatic comedy Body Awareness written by
Annie Baker, the author displays that self confidence prevents one s self consciousness. Ego can
prohibit the idea of one s true self. All Joyce, Jared s mother wants is for Jared to be like any normal
kid, but he is not. This upsets her, and she constantly tries to bring up the fact that he may have
Asperger s and proceeds to explain why. Jared and Joyce, are having a civilized conversation while
cooking dinner when Joyce brings up a psychologist and Jared immediately begins to get angry and
yells, I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that I don t have it... I AM NOT FUCKING

Short Summary Of Oliver Twist
Oliver Twist is the story of a young orphan, Oliver, and his attempts to stay good in a society that
refuses to help. Oliver is born in a workhouse, to a mother not known to anyone in the town. She dies
right after giving birth to him, and he is sent to the parochial orphanage, where he and the other
orphans are treated terribly and fed very little. When he turns nine, he is sent to the workhouse, where
again he and the others are treated badly and practically starved. The other boys, unable to stand their
hunger any longer, decide to draw straws to choose who will have to go up and ask for more food.
Oliver loses. On the appointed day, after finishing his first serving of gruel, he goes up and asks for
more. Mr. Bumble, the beadle, and the board are outraged, and decide they must get rid of Oliver,
apprenticing him to the parochial undertaker, Mr. Sowerberry. It is not great there either, and after an
attack on his mother s memory, Oliver runs away. Oliver walks towards London. When he is close, he
is so weak he can barely continue, and he meets another boy named Jack Dawkins, or the artful
Dodger. The Dodger tells Oliver he can come with him to a place where a gentleman will give him a
place to sleep and food, for no rent. Oliver follows, and the Dodger takes him to an apartment in
London where he meets Fagin, the aforementioned gentleman, and Oliver is offered a place to stay.

Furthermore, they feel comfortable being with each other alone when the author explains, I
remembered how my stepfather and I enjoyed watching programs like Gunsmoke , The Virginian , and

things together. In the book, when he becomes an adult he is married and has a job as a teacher in high
school or college when the author states, I walked to my car thinking about what I was doing as an
instructor and how I was doing it (158). These things make him feels struggle because he feels like he
does something mistakenly like teaching his students. He finds a new way to overcome his struggles.
Secondly, Angela Morales has different school life, family relationships, and adulthood. According to
the book The Girl in My Town by Angela Morales, she goes to Washington Elementary School that
makes decision for the boys to do a job as dishwashers and does not allow girls to do it when the
author states, It seemed only right that if girls wanted to wash dishes at Washington Elementary
School, they should be allowed to do so (22). This makes the girls feel unfair that they only let the
boys do dishwasher because the boys are more stronger than girls. The girls also want to help out by

The exit of the United Kingdom from membership of the European Union, is also known as Brexit.
Derived from Britain and Exit.
The United Kingdom held a referendum to decide if they leave the European Economic Community
(EEC) in 1975. This was mainly because in 1963 and 1967 the United Kingdom applied for
membership and was denied because Charles de Gaulle the president of France at that time dismissed
the application because of the fear that English language will dominate the continent. In 1973 the
United Kingdom made a third application and was successful but backed out in 1973 (2 years Later).
The Prime Minster of the United Kingdom David Cameron announced on 23rd June 2016, a
referendum will be held allowing the British people vote on whether to leave or remain members of
the European Union. Majority of Britain voted to leave European Union. The prime minister talked of
a target to begin the Article 50 procedure as soon as the 2 year time period to

The Blu Ray Disc
1 Introduction
An emergence roadmapping process is crucial to managers and policy makers taken decisions about
which technologies it should be or it should not be developed, despite the uncertain trends of the
market.
This report aims to address the emergence roadmapping of the Blu ray disc. It will be structured in the
three essential parts: the development of this technology, the environment involved and its initial
market and competitors. The first part describes the technological development and the advantages
that led to the implementation of this innovation, and it presents the challenges faced by it. In the
second part, an environment analysis will explain what helped to the success of the Blu ray disc. In the
last part, market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Blu ray, thereby, is the successor of the DVD format, as well as the High Definition/Density
Digital Versatile Disc (HD DVD). By 2007, these two serious competitors stood up over several other
companies attracting the largest consumer portion (Uijla Vriesa, 2013). Major changes that occurred in
the market by the end of 2008 have led the Blu ray to absolute dominance of the market. In the section
4, a better explanation of the war raised between those two companies will be presented.

3 Emergence Roadmapping Trends and Drivers
3.1 Technology Development and Challenges
The main purpose in a technological innovation is to integrate its benefits in an application and to
utilize properly its advantages to create a potential market that will generate revenue.
In 1998, The High Definition TV (HDTV) sets began to act in the United States and Japanese
consumer markets. The old formats of media, such as DVDs and CDs were not able to store the
amount of data necessary to record high definition content. At the same time, the video game market
was growing in a rapidly rate. The market demand generated after the success of DVDs pushed
several companies to invest in this type of technology. In this framework, the company that would
come up with an efficient innovation to provide higher data storage would have greater chance to have
a big market share.

Human Nature In The Stand By Stephen King
Human Nature is a very interesting topic with it being something that is in everyday life. Every
decision you make comes with some influence from Human Nature. Human Nature tells you a bit of
right from wrong and almost tells you what outcomes can be. To give an example from Paul Zak s Can
a molecule make us moral article they did an experiment where two people would be in separate
rooms and they would both get twenty dollars. One person could choose how much money they
wanted to give the other. So basically if you didn t give the other person money they could take money
away. But if you did they could give you money so in the end you have more than what you started
with. The DM1 to DM2 transfer is understood to be a measure of trust, ... Show more content on

Paul Zak s Can a molecule make us moral is very interesting in a lot of ways. It really shows a lot of
different scenarios where there can be a good moral decision and a bad moral decision. Paul Zak said
that morality is like the earthly basis of all decisions which when you think about it it is very true.
Most if not all decisions we make have morality behind them whether it be a good or bad decision.
With all of this to consider and how morality can change decisions with good or bad influence do we
actually make the decisions or is it all morality. It actually is us just with a certain molecule called
Oxytocin. It is a molecule released when you sense trust or have a certain feeling with another person.
Paul Zak said a good example of this is the Pigeon Drop con where say you work at a gas station and a
man comes to the front desk with a pearl necklace and he says he just found it. You get a call 5
minutes later from a man saying he is looking for it he was in the bathroom 20 minutes ago. He says
he will give the man a 200 dollar reward and he ll be on his way. The man says he can t because he
has a job interview so you decide to split it so he gives you the necklace and you give him the 100
dollars. Well turns out that was Oxytocin falling for the con, the necklace is fake and they just got 100
dollars and that guy is never showing up for the necklace. The Oxytocin in your brain surged when he

Leadership In New Mexico
Each state is given their set of leaders. These leaders are normally voted in by the state they want a
position in. New Mexico is no exception. It should be known that all leadership is appointed by God.
Therefore, we must submit to the leaders he has put in position. We must follow them unless what
they want is against the word of God. Speaking of leaders, knowledge about current and future leaders
is important to stay informed on. Since we have the right to vote, it is smart to know what we are
voting for. There are many positions of leadership that need to be set, such as state representatives,
state senators, and state governors. Three State Representatives stand in New Mexico. The first is
Michelle Lujan. She is a Democrat, (Hopkins, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most important is the senator s position. New Mexico, similar to other states, have two
different senators in office. The first is Senator Tom Udall. Tom is a Democrat (States In The Senate,
n.d.), who has stood in office since 2009 (About Tom, n.d.). He has shown his hard work recently. In
fact, at the end of July, he stayed a part of something big. The Department of Veteran Affairs was not
being held responsible for not doing their job the way they should. Tom was a share of a 93 to three
vote for change. Tom was also one of the leaders for this request for an alteration (Udall, Passage of
Bill, 2014). This shows Tom Udall cares for the people who give their lives for their country. As I
stated before, there are two senators for each state. The second Senator in charge in New Mexico is
Martin Heinrick. Martin is a Democrat (States In The Senate, n.d.), who has been in office since 2012
(About Martin, n.d.). Identical to Tom Udall, Martin was involved in the situation concerning The
Department of Veteran Affairs. Several of the veterans would have to wait over three months to get an
appointment. In addition, due to the lack of results the injured veterans required, Martin demanded for
Secretary Shinseki to leave his position. He asked President Obama to find someone suitable for this
important position. No veteran should not receive what they deserve (Heinrick Calls for Secretary

Pope Francis Influence
On March 13, 2013 white smoke ushered in a new era within the Roman Catholic Church. For the first
time in its history, a Pope from the Americas was chosen to lead. It was expected that the newly
elected American Pope, who called himself Francis after St. Francis of Assisi, would help restore the
Catholic Church s reputation, reform the clerical bureaucracy, and reinvigorate Catholic participation.
In the first few months of his papacy, that is exactly what he did.
Pope Francis did away with ornate and rigid traditions of previous popes. He restructured core Vatican
institutions such as the clerical hierarchy and the banking system, in order to drive out corruption. His
messages of simplicity and mercy were engrained in unselfish gestures, such as the washing of
offenders feet, (something) , and (something), that helped bring Catholics back into the fold. Yet, for
some Catholics, like Maureen Dowd, Pope Francis efforts have not changed the church enough.

In her piece, Dowd spoke against Pope Francis lack of support for a group of American nuns who had
publically endorsed liberal legislation (such as contraception, gay rights and abortion as well as a
feminization of God) that contradicted long held church teachings. Dowd questioned how Pope
Francis could confess to believe in social justice and helping the poor when he failed to prevent
orthodox clergy from chastising nuns who held beliefs that would seemingly align with the Pope s
own motto of Who am I to judge . Her article linked this instance on non action to another instance of

Failure Of Nokia
As it was stated in the introduction, with the smartphone revolution, Nokia failed to understand the
future direction of mobile devices. This underestimation of the rising innovation, in terms of global
market shares, led to a drastic decline from 2007 to 2013, the company lost 45.2% of its market shares
(Statista, 2014). It is worth mentioning, that in 2004, at Nokia s Espoo headquarters, researchers have
presented a mobile phone prototype, which was able to connect to the internet and it was controlled by
a touch screen (O Brien, 2010). However, Nokia s senior management had rejected the idea, stating
that it would be an expensive failure to develop it. That allowed American and Asian companies to
become leading companies, as they adopted a more innovative idea of the smartphone. Despite the
fact that the company started to lose its market shares to competitors, Nokia tried to take the role as
strategic innovator by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, Nokia Networks recently revealed the programmable 5G architecture infrastructure
which is able to adjust automatically radio access and core network resources by meeting the needs of
different services (Nokia, 2015). Being innovative in the telecommunication industry means for Nokia
competing in a fast developing and booming networking sector, which generates most of the company
s revenue. Chaudhuri (2015) believes, that in Nokia s case, presence in telecommunication industry is
more profitable than mobile handsets manufacturing. This strategy shift may allow the company to
win the game by redefining market orientation. To support this example, the author uses the Ericsson
case, which illustrates the company s decision to sell its handset business to Sony, after it lost its
ability to compete with other manufacturers. Ericsson s focus on mobile networks allowed the

Factual Political Knowledge
Hard news and soft news are said to be the extreme ends of standards in news value. The former
includes coverages of serious topics which are timely in orientation, while the latter is applied to
matters of human interests, entertainment, sports, and similar subjects. In response to declining news
readership, the fine lines between these two differing formats are being obscured as the more serious
hard news would employ entertaining styles and the less serious soft news would inform in a
traditional manner. Considering this blur, should it be of matter if one would prefer a specific format
in reference to their features, i.e., to choose either from news that is relying on information or
entertainment? Seeking legitimate and accurate information would not be the term for choosing either

In his article, Any Good News in Soft News? Markus Prior pointed out that people who prefer soft
news formats are significantly less knowledgeable than those who prefer hard news. This implies that
a rise in factual political knowledge, as well as a long term retention of that knowledge is improbable
with the preference for soft news. Matthew Baum, in his commentary Soft News and Political
Knowledge would later argue that Prior s findings of the absence of a measurable increase in factual
political knowledge is an overly restrictive definition of learning and that it rather demonstrates the
absence of long term retention of factual knowledge. Baum further presented evidences which speaks
of an enhanced attainment of factual knowledge, at least in high profile issues and scandals from
coverage of soft news. For instance, the use of episodic frames in soft news media influences the
attention and judgments of people as they can vividly recall on past known information. Another case
is the extraction of emotional charges from soft news reportage which makes people remember the
way they feel about an issue, say, an election or social

San Francisco Gold Rush Analysis
By December 23, 1913, when President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act into law, it
stood as a classic example of compromise a decentralized central bank that balanced the competing
intrigues of private banks and populist sentiment. Afore the incipient central bank could commence
operations, the Reserve Bank Operating Committee, comprised of Treasury Secretary William
McAdoo, Secretary of Agriculture David Houston, and Comptroller of the Currency John Skelton
Williams, had the arduous task of building a working institution around the bare bones of the incipient
law. In reaction to the Great Despondence, Congress passed the Banking Act of 1933, better kenned as
the Glass Steagall Act, calling for the disseverment of commercial and ... Show more content on

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 called for the establishment of 12 Federal Reserve Banks throughout
the nation in order to engender a more stable and secure financial system. The Gold Rush, the 1906
Earthquake, San Francisco s natural assets, and financial panics that make the Great Recession of the
21st century look homogeneous to a blip all of these contributed to San Francisco s evolution as the
top candidate to accommodate as district headquarters. These banks were vulnerably susceptible to
runs or panics, when individuals lost confidence in the bank and rushed to withdraw their mamba,
inundating the amount of mamba that banks kept on hand and causing chains of bank failures. Isolated
from the established banking system in the East, the West built up its own capital and developed its
own network of banks, centered in San Francisco. San Francisco banks acted as correspondents for
banks located in the economic hinterlands, clearing checks, holding reserves, and negotiating loans
and deposits. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act in 1913, engendering a semi
centralized banking system, with the activities of each district grouped around its own Federal Reserve
Bank. After the Great Dejection, which was optically discerned as stemming in part from the diffuse
ascendancy within the Federal Reserve System, the Banking Act of 1935 centralized monetary policy
in the Board of Governors and the incipient Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), with its 12
members, consisting of the Board of Governors, the president of the Incipient York Victualed, and a
rotating group of four Reserve Bank presidents. the Federal Reserve s duties fall into four general
areas: conducting the nation s monetary policy by influencing the monetary and credit conditions in
the economy in pursuit of maximum employment, stable

Stages Of Attachment Of The Infant s Attachment
Stages of attachment. Another of Bowlby s contributions is his proposal that the infant s attachment to
caregiver develops in stages attuned to the infant s cognitive and emotional development. As described
by Broderick Blewitt (2015), a bond emerges from the affect between mother and child in the first two
months as the infant signals their needs by clinging, smiling, and crying. During this stage infants are
not yet attached to anyone and do not discriminate between caregivers. Between their second and
eighth month, infants become increasingly preferential of one caregiver, most often the mother. The
primary indicator of the emerging attachment is whether or not the 7 8 month old infant protests when
separated from their caregiver, and whether they greet the caregivers return with happiness. Soon
thereafter, the infant should begin to develop additional attachments with their fathers, grandparents,
babysitters etc. By 18 months most infants are attached to multiple caregivers (Broderick Blewitt,
2015, p. 135).
Attachment is a system. As mentioned previously, Bowlby also argued that attachment is a system.
Expanding on this, Bowlby proposed that the system serves three purposes; 1) It maintains proximity
between infant and caregiver, nurturing the emotional bond In attachment theory this is known as
proximity maintenance, 2) It provides the potential for on going protection known as a secure base, 3)
It creates a haven for the infant when distressed

ABSTRACT
Ten shales samples obtained in X Formation, Afikpo Basin and were subjected to geochemical
analysis to determine the TOC , SOM and Rock eval pyrolysis. The TOC values varied from 0.6 7.36
% 1.60w% 1.80w% with an average of 1.66w%, while the SOM values ranged from 100 380 % .
Tmax range from 442 462 . The above results show that the TOC values fall above the minimum
threshold for hydrocarbon generation potential. The minimum threshold value for TOC is 0.5%. The
average SOM value is also indicative of good source rock potential for the studied samples. The Tmax
values in the study area shows that the sediments are immature and have not reached the oil generation
phase, but are within the gas phase. The organic matter quantity is adequate for sediments to yield
hydrocarbon whereas the organic matter quality is inadequate to expel hydrocarbon.
(I) INTRODUCTION
Most people now believe that oil and gas are formed when the remains of dead animals and plants are
mixed with sediments, buried and formed into rocks and then heated deep underground. The oil and
gas then seep out through porous rocks where they may or may not collect in an oil or gas field.

Wearable Wearability Research Paper
Although physiological signals, such as an increase in temperature and blood pressure, are not
traditionally considered an input channel within computer science, computers are gradually moving
beyond the desktop and reaching closer contact with our bodies. An affective wearable a wearable
computer equipped with physiological sensors and pattern recognition is designed to perceive and
respond to the wearer s affective state. Affective states are determined by certain patterns; one pattern
would be a change in nervous system activity, such as an increase in heart rate. While most wearables
today are designed as bands around our wrists, these miniature flexible electrodes can be attached to
jewelry or sewn into our clothes. Indeed, people are already in physical contact with many things that

Decision support systems (DSS) is an umbrella term that describes an interactive, computerised
system that supports decision making in an organisation using data and models (Druzdzel Flynn 2002;

data to find possible hidden patterns, unknown correlations and other useful information that can be
used to make better decisions (Kapdoskar et al. 2015). Data analytics is making businesses smarter
and more productive as they can make better predictions by analysing trends in the data (Kapdoskar et

Will The Yeast Fermentation Of Yeast Fermentation Of Glucose
Will the rate of yeast fermentation of glucose increase as pH levels increase? To test this, 4 trials of
two pH level solutions were prepared in order to obtain an average amount of CO2 produced. Twelve
mL of yeast, 12 mL of glucose, and 4 mL of either a pH 2 solution or pH 10 solution were prepared in
eight beakers, 4 per pH, and then poured into a flask, where the rate of fermentation was then
measured in millimeters every 2 minutes for a total of 20 minutes. It was hypothesized that the rate of
yeast fermentation of glucose would increase as pH increased. Our data results from the 8 flasks
showed no statistical significance between yeast fermentation of glucose in a pH of 2 or pH of 10
solution. Using the final CO2 production level measured after 20 minutes, a t Test assuming equal
variances was performed which supported our observations of no significant difference in the rate of
yeast fermentation, which led us to accept our null hypothesis stating that a change in pH would have
no effect on the rate of yeast fermentation of glucose.

much time and money that they have put into it. For hockey, hockey cost about 1,200 and that includes
all of the equipment and ice time just for house league. house league is the lowest level of hockey.
Then if you want to play AAA, the highest level of hockey it cost more than $6,000 dollars, that only
includes ice time and how much the coach gets paid. Last year for the York Simcoe Express coach got

An example of the element used in the short film is when the magician moves his hand before he does a hat trick. In the short film, the swoosh sound his hand makes assumes that it is the actual sound. Another element that you can hear during the short film is Mickey Mousing. There are many examples of Mickey Mousing throughout the short film but an example of it being used is when the magician gets mad at the bunny and he stomps towards him. In the film we can also hear Leitmotif being used. An example of the element used is when the drums go off when the magician put his hand in the hat and when he puts his hand out ... • 3. Why Black People Commit Crime Another question exists however. Why are Black individuals more likely to commit crime? This can be confusing as to why this occurs. Both Black and white people who grow up in the same society are capable and have the same opportunities, so why is it that black individuals have a higher crime rate. We can figure this out by looking at examples of other first world countries and data seems to show that major causes of crime are traced back to poverty, family conditions, and drugs. The fact is even though many black families are living prosperous successful lives in north America they still lag behind economic status with 35 % of African Americans living in poverty compared to 13% of all Americans. Also 72% of black children are raised by a single ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Describe A Model Of Bravery, Selflessness, Courage, And... When describing a model of bravery, selflessness, courage, and sensibility Shun Fujimoto is an excellent specimen. Shun participated in the 1976 Olympics hosted by Montreal, Canada. Helping lead his fellow Japanese Olympians to a fourth dynasty, win and beating the opposition Russia. During the floor competition, while tumbling Shun had broken his right knee. Perseverance willed Shun to continue with not the slightest mention of pain or restriction in his movements. Performing a featured twist from an eight foot high set of rings only to land on his broken knee with only a mere flinch depicting his distress. Making this one of the most courageous acts in Olympic history. The motivation shown by Shun can be explained with help from his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When this is Americanized a quote from President John F. Kennedy comes to mind Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country . Shun gained the love and support from both his teammates and his country for enduring unimaginable amounts of pain to see others succeed. By placing his teammates before his own well being and priorities Shun shows interdependent self construal. The interdependent self construal is based on belonging to a group or fitting in. The Asian culture is very centered around an interdependent self construal. Being family orient is a large expectation many in the Asian culture believe, based upon religion that one must achieve the happiness of certain Gods and will, in turn, live their life to gain that happiness and respect. Maintaining social connections and keeping harmony and peace is a core value in the Japanese culture. This being a valid reasoning for Shun s ability to withstand such brutalizing pain to achieve his goal of helping carry his teammates to victory. The interdependent self construal is a means of valuing other opinions higher than that of your own. The respect gained from family and friends is of higher importance to the self than that of the inner thoughts. These relationships are dependent on the reflection of the self in terms of how one defines succeeding and bring harmony to others. When examining if independent and interdependent self construal are both operatives in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Opinion Of The Initial Training For The Program Your opinion of the initial training for the program: During the winter session, we had a course in which is intend to get students accustomed to the software, we were given a basic tax assignment to complete. This was a great way to get used to a new software that we have never experienced before. It was a basic return with dependents, W2 s, Interest, dividends, etc. We worked with friends to figure out this new software which was a big help, as one may know something you don t. Prior to the assignment, our professor (clovey) give us a link to a Youtube video in which they also explain how to get on the site and sign up for the software. These videos is a tutorial to help you complete the basic tax returns, but for advance, it tends to be a little more complicated. As for the tax laws training, I think our Professor s (Clovey/ Mohammad) did an excellent job in giving us an insight of IRS rules we need to know. We were giving Publication 4012, which is an easy guide to figure out who is qualified or not. We read about qualified dependent s, medicaid/medicare, EIC (Earned Income Credit), itemization, standard deduction, Education Credit and much more about these rules and exceptions. The class was held every other sunday (two time each month), and we would have to read prior to class on new subject so when we go in, the topic that are being covered won t confuse us. The class are mixed with Seniors and Juniors who have or have not taken a tax course before. For the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Athletes Using Enhancement Drugs Did you ever take banned substances to enhance your cycling performance? Lance Armstrong, seven time Tour de France winner and cycling superstar responded, Yes ( Lance Armstrong and Oprah Winfrey ). Lance Armstrong is just one of many professional athletes who doped to get ahead in sports. Armstrong s guilty verdict exemplifies the efforts to punish athletes using performance enhancing drugs. The increase in anti doping efforts is evident. In the middle of the 20th century, a troublesome problem arose in the sports world: doping. In the 1960s, the first evidence that athletes were using performance enhancing drugs surfaced (Catlin, Fitch, and Ljungqvist 104). Even though significant evidence prevailed that athletes used the drugs to increase their athletic performance, there was no way to detect drug use. People did not know what to think of the problem, but when a cyclist died at the 1960 Olympic Games from doping, sports organizations started to take action (Catlin, Fitch, and Ljungqvist 100). Scientists went to work looking for a way to detect performance enhancing drugs in athletes. It took several years before any reliable drug testing methods came about. During the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in 1966, the first drug test was performed (Hanstad, Smith, and Waddington 229). In the following year, more sports organizations took a stance against drugs in sports. Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Essay on Literature Review on Unemployment Literature Review on Unemployment Introduction Unemployment is recognised as one of the most challenging social problems currently facing Australia. In the last two decades and more recently with the global recession high levels of unemployment have become an established feature of the South Australian social and economic landscape, with young people aged 15 to 24 years among those hardest hit by unemployment. In the past quarter the unemployment rate in South Australia has remained steady at 5.6% (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2009) but this figure is volatile and may increase next month. The youth unemployment rate, however, in South Australia remains at 21.9% with the Western and Northern suburbs having significantly higher ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The absence of employment, therefore, can mean that many people do not have vital human needs met such as an opportunity to exercise control, to use and develop skills and have contact with others. The research literature shows a strong association between unemployment and ill health. Some illness is caused by unemployment whilst other health problems are exacerbated by unemployment ( Smith, 1987; Mathers Schofield,1998). An Australian summary of the health and unemployment literature by Mathers and Schofield (1998) identified that unemployment has detrimental effects on mental health, physical health and health related behaviours. Mental Health The evidence that unemployment has negative effects on mental health is strong. Mental health effects on young unemployed people include low self esteem and confidence ( Gurney, 1980; Prause and Dooley, 1997), increased incidence of depression ( Patton and Noller, 1990; Winefield et al, 1993; West Sweeting, 1996), stress related symptoms ( Hammarstrom, 1994) and higher levels of anxiety ( Morrell et al, 1994; West Sweeting,1996). In their study, Morrell et al (1998) find a strong association between unemployment in young 15 to 25 year olds and youth suicide. • 9. Poll Tax In Henry Thoreau s Resistance To Civil Government Poll Tax Poll tax, meaning a fee that has to be paid to satisfy taxpayer requirements in voting laws, and that the only people who demonstrate financial tie to community were permitted for this kind of voting, was the reason Henry Thoreau was arrested and sent to jail for the night. While in jail, he realized that what had just happened to him was not right and needed to do something about it. The next day a friend of his which happened to be his aunt paid his texas meaning he was free to go. Believe it or not, Thoreau refused to be let out and wanted justice for what was illegally happening. Which is why he wrote Resistance to Civil Government so everyone would read and know what was actually going on. I believe that he presents an effective argument and fights for what he knows is right, which involved poll tax, civil disobedience, and unjust laws. One of Thoreau s strong argument points had to do with the whole situation of the poll tax. He didn t see the need in people paying tax for something that they don t agree on nor want. He stopped paying poll tax about six years ago because he believed that it supported the Mexican American war and the expansion of slavery into the Southwest which he did not agree on. The next couple of days he was out running errands and got arrested for that reason. Sam Staples, which was the cop who arrested Thoreau, failed to take action against him for several years up until that day. In my opinion I feel like if Staples didn t ... • 11. Descriptive Essay About My Grandmother s House Bright summer days usually consist of family time, going to the beach, and making lifelong memories to be forever cherished. The smell of grilled food fills the air and it is almost as if it reaches the taste buds of the hungry consumer; meanwhile, ice cold beverages are being chugged down to refresh their bodies during the sweltering heat of the afternoon. The laughter of the barefooted children, both young and old, contagiously spreads to anyone who views and hears them. Families share their love and happiness through wide toothed grins and playful conversation. Most importantly, these places are full of happiness and effortless fun in the bright rays of sunshine. For me, these unforgettable memories were made at my grandma s house, or rather my happy place, during the three beautiful, fun filled months of summer. As I cross the bumpy train tracks in Elk River, Minnesota, I start to feel happiness arise from within me. After approximately 10 long minutes, I approach 205th Lane and a tingling sensation comes over me when the black, unlocked gate comes into view. Grandma s house. I get out of my car and push the screeching gate open and a winding driveway is now visual. Driving down the rocky, black driveway the car winds through the budding apple trees, lilies, bleeding hearts, and the large pink and white almost fluffy appearing flowers. Making my way up to my grandma s house was like being a small child in a large candy store, there was so much excitement and exploration ahead. Finally, after turning around a large oak tree filled with dark green leaves next to the assorted rock garden that holds a miniature pond containing bright orange goldfish, my happy place comes into view. Grandma Jackie s wood sided, three story house with acres of land to run and everyone s favorite, a large inground pool with white metal siding surrounded by a dark wooden deck. My happiness would begin in full force as the sunshine reflecting off the swimming pool catches my eye while I walked up the cracked filled cement sidewalk. This shows that at the racetracks 84% go back to the people who are gambling, 15% goes to the brokers, and 1% is the breakage or surplus. That is how the money works in the racetracks. Each state deals with the money differently though. These percentages include the deductions for monies for both Track and State. Each state has laws specifying the division of this percentage between Track and State. Some states use a sliding scale. The higher the volume of business, the higher the percentage paid to the state (Freeman 166). As shown here the state taxes are included. Also, commission is used in all racetracks, and this provided jobs for many people. Another good reason why gambling should be legalized is because people can make a ton of money. • 13. Operations Management At Sainsbury s Value Chain Operations Management is the systematic (where everything can be defined, measured and managed) control of processes that translates inputs into services and products (output). All the processes are linked together to form a supply chain and all the operations are about transformations (adding value). Two types of operation systems are used : opened and closed loop. The first one treats time (speed) as a high priority and starts from the input, through the process to the output. In the opposite, the second one includes a control stage between the process and the output and, a feedback at the end. In the first part, I m going to describe briefly some of Sainsbury s operations using Porter s value chain. Two categories of operations management exist : service or manufacturing based. Services processes can be analysed through the customer contact matrix, the degree of labour intensity degree of interaction and customisation, and the volume and variety against customer contact. In this case, by delivering goods ordered online to customers from a local supermarket, Sainsbury s more like a service process because their outputs are perishable ; there s a low customer contact (face to face or moment of truth) ; there s a short response time (feedback is quick) ; it is labor intensive ; the quality is not easily measured ; and there is low level of customisation (basic process). It is the downstream part of the supply chain. The value chain lean system starts with the inbound ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Laibson suggests that individuals are susceptible to mental accounting and, attaching different psychological values to various types of income and assets and also develop differing attitudes in doing so. The existence of such nature among individuals could be due to a number of factors, for example individuals have an approximate age at which they wish to retire and do not want to carry with them any debts into retirement or work longer than they have to. Myopia has been subject to study and has been at the centre of different models developed to describe savings and retirement. A form of myopia is hyperbolic discounting. In the world today many people are nervous of not fitting in with society so they create a big ego to hide behind their flaws. This kind of growth is evident in Annie Baker s first play Body Awareness by one of the main characters, Jared. Jared is a twenty one year old, slightly autistic boy who still lives with his gay parents, Joyce and Phyllis. Joyce and Phyllis have been telling Jared he has Aspergers ever since he was five years old. Throughout the play Jared shows many signs of Aspergers, but he will not admit it to himself or allow his parents accusations to be correct. Though Jared is conscious of these signs, he is constantly coming up with excuses in order to seem perfect for he believes this will make his parents happy. In the dramatic comedy Body Awareness written by Annie Baker, the author displays that self confidence prevents one s self consciousness. Ego can prohibit the idea of one s true self. All Joyce, Jared s mother wants is for Jared to be like any normal kid, but he is not. This upsets her, and she constantly tries to bring up the fact that he may have Asperger s and proceeds to explain why. Jared and Joyce, are having a civilized conversation while cooking dinner when Joyce brings up a psychologist and Jared immediately begins to get angry and yells, I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that I don t have it... These banks were vulnerably susceptible to runs or panics, when individuals lost confidence in the bank and rushed to withdraw their mamba, inundating the amount of mamba that banks kept on hand and causing chains of bank failures. • 31. Stages Of Attachment Of The Infant s Attachment Stages of attachment. Another of Bowlby s contributions is his proposal that the infant s attachment to caregiver develops in stages attuned to the infant s cognitive and emotional development. As described by Broderick Blewitt (2015), a bond emerges from the affect between mother and child in the first two months as the infant signals their needs by clinging, smiling, and crying. During this stage infants are not yet attached to anyone and do not discriminate between caregivers. Between their second and eighth month, infants become increasingly preferential of one caregiver, most often the mother. The primary indicator of the emerging attachment is whether or not the 7 8 month old infant protests when separated from their caregiver, and whether they greet the caregivers return with happiness. Soon thereafter, the infant should begin to develop additional attachments with their fathers, grandparents, babysitters etc. By 18 months most infants are attached to multiple caregivers (Broderick Blewitt, 2015, p. 135). Attachment is a system. As mentioned previously, Bowlby also argued that attachment is a system. Expanding on this, Bowlby proposed that the system serves three purposes; 1) It maintains proximity between infant and caregiver, nurturing the emotional bond In attachment theory this is known as proximity maintenance, 2) It provides the potential for on going protection known as a secure base, 3) It creates a haven for the infant when distressed ... • 32. Organic Geochemical Studies Of Cretaceous Source Rocks Of... ORGANIC GEOCHEMICAL STUDIES OF CRETACEOUS SOURCE ROCKS OF AFIKPO BASIN, SOUTHEASTERN, NIGERIAADIELA, U.P, 1. AYODELE MOSES OYEWOLE 2 1 Department of Petroleum Engineering, Nigerian Agip Oil Company, Port Harcourt 2 Department of Geology, University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt, Nigeria . ABSTRACT Ten shales samples obtained in X Formation, Afikpo Basin and were subjected to geochemical analysis to determine the TOC , SOM and Rock eval pyrolysis. The TOC values varied from 0.6 7.36 % 1.60w% 1.80w% with an average of 1.66w%, while the SOM values ranged from 100 380 % . Tmax range from 442 462 . The above results show that the TOC values fall above the minimum threshold for hydrocarbon generation potential. The minimum threshold value for TOC is 0.5%. The average SOM value is also indicative of good source rock potential for the studied samples. The Tmax values in the study area shows that the sediments are immature and have not reached the oil generation phase, but are within the gas phase. The organic matter quantity is adequate for sediments to yield hydrocarbon whereas the organic matter quality is inadequate to expel hydrocarbon. (I) INTRODUCTION Most people now believe that oil and gas are formed when the remains of dead animals and plants are mixed with sediments, buried and formed into rocks and then heated deep underground. The oil and gas then seep out through porous rocks where they may or may not collect in an oil or gas field. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Kratom Review Paper Hey there everyone! I was recently sent some samples by Grey Street Herbals and I ve been so excited to try them! I was sent 6 strains and I will be reviewing them all! **I won t be rating /10 because I believe that type of rating doesn t serve justice to kratom strains as a less powerful strain may be more appealing than a higher quality strain due to different effects/medicinal uses**. I have been using kratom consistently for a couple months but I ve been using kratom off and on for about half a year. I was sent these samples to me by Grey Street Herbals yet I have no incentives to endorse /u/MetalFusionDude and I will be reviewing these strains from a nonbiased perspective, although there may be a little bias for the Green Maeng Da because ... The taste is mild and really easy to get down. This is a high quality powder. Powder quality **TL;DR**: Pretty dark green, fluffy chunky consistency and minimal stemmage; a great quality kratom powder! **Effects** As an inner peace promoting strain, this Super Green combines a very apparent euphoria and a mild body effect accompanied by an energy boost. This strain is the type of kratom that helps you think healthier; an incredible strain for anxiety. This strain is great at any time of the day since if you don t want the energy boost you can raise the dose. This is a happiness promoting strain but also has a very nice body effect going on. • 34. Wearable Wearability Research Paper Although physiological signals, such as an increase in temperature and blood pressure, are not traditionally considered an input channel within computer science, computers are gradually moving beyond the desktop and reaching closer contact with our bodies. An affective wearable a wearable computer equipped with physiological sensors and pattern recognition is designed to perceive and respond to the wearer s affective state. Affective states are determined by certain patterns; one pattern would be a change in nervous system activity, such as an increase in heart rate. While most wearables today are designed as bands around our wrists, these miniature flexible electrodes can be attached to jewelry or sewn into our clothes. Indeed, people are already in physical contact with many things that could be augmented with sensors (Picard). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Decision Support Systems ( Dss ) Decision support systems (DSS) is an umbrella term that describes an interactive, computerised system that supports decision making in an organisation using data and models (Druzdzel Flynn 2002; Sharda et al. 2014). Whereas knowledge based decision support system (KB DSS) is generally a rule based system used to provide expertise. (Sharda et al. 2014). It is essentially an expert system but it may also use documented knowledge as a source of expertise (Sharda et al. 2014). KB DSS has well defined information organisation and manipulated schemes compared to DSS (Christopher, Nehemiah Arputharaj 2016). KB DSS essentially acts as a consultant as it provides advice and explanation to non experts (De Knock 2003). Examples on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.0. Question 2 Web analytics is used to analyse the behaviour of visitors of a website (Rouse, Allen McQuown 2005). Web analytics can tell a business their website s traffic levels, its referral sources and user behaviour and interactions (Sharma 2015). Data analytics is the process of examining big data to find possible hidden patterns, unknown correlations and other useful information that can be used to make better decisions (Kapdoskar et al. 2015). Data analytics is making businesses smarter and more productive as they can make better predictions by analysing trends in the data (Kapdoskar et al. 2015). The main difference between web and data analytics is that web analytics analyses a website only, whereas data analytics analyses big data. Examples of where web analytics is useful for supporting businesses (Sharma 2015): Improve website design and user experience Web analytics makes it easy to find out how users are interacting with a business website. According to how the users are using the website, the business can improve the design and the functionality to make a better user experience. Understand business website traffic Businesses can find out how users are finding their website such as if it from a referral website, search engine, direct, offline campaigns or online campaigns. Using this information businesses can identify the most profitable source of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Will The Yeast Fermentation Of Yeast Fermentation Of Glucose Will the rate of yeast fermentation of glucose increase as pH levels increase? To test this, 4 trials of two pH level solutions were prepared in order to obtain an average amount of CO2 produced. Twelve mL of yeast, 12 mL of glucose, and 4 mL of either a pH 2 solution or pH 10 solution were prepared in eight beakers, 4 per pH, and then poured into a flask, where the rate of fermentation was then measured in millimeters every 2 minutes for a total of 20 minutes. It was hypothesized that the rate of yeast fermentation of glucose would increase as pH increased. Our data results from the 8 flasks showed no statistical significance between yeast fermentation of glucose in a pH of 2 or pH of 10 solution. Using the final CO2 production level measured after 20 minutes, a t Test assuming equal variances was performed which supported our observations of no significant difference in the rate of yeast fermentation, which led us to accept our null hypothesis stating that a change in pH would have no effect on the rate of yeast fermentation of glucose. The Effects of pH on the Production of Carbon Dioxide through Yeast Fermentation of Glucose Saccharomyces cerevisiae, more commonly known as yeast, is a microscopic, eukaryotic single celled organism that can be found in nature, food and beverage production, biotechnology, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. Linux distros i.e. Linux distributions, is a merging of all the different parts and programs that is created by different organizations. Some of the Linux distros are Ubuntu, openSUSE, Debian, Slackware, Gentoo, Arch Linux. Not all of the distros are open source and free. 2. What is the significance of file extensions (.txt, .pdf, .docx, .jpeg, etc) in Windows and Linux? For example, there is a file named as hello.mp3 in windows and Linux. What type of file will it be in Windows and Linux? Briefly explain. In windows almost every file require the use of extension in order for the system to function. In Linux operating system they do not require the use of extension. In Linux, the extensions are used only to make the user understand the type of file. TYPE OF FILE: o In windows: hello.mp3 will be a mp3 file only and the extension is important to be specified. o In Linux: hello.mp3 is considered as a normal file which can be used for texts, video etc 3. Briefly explain metacharacter and in Linux with an example Special character in data field or program that provides information about other character. this metacharacter is basically used as command filename .Sends the output of the command on the left into the file named on the right of this symbol. Then if you want to play AAA, the highest level of hockey it cost more than $6,000 dollars, that only includes ice time and how much the coach gets paid. Last year for the York Simcoe Express coach got paid around $50,000 dollars for coaching one team for a year. Then there is the travel cost (or how much you pay for gas).
