Present Progressive Tense
DEFINITION
• The Present Progressive
Tense is an action that
takes place at the moment
of speaking. We use it to
talk about something which
is happening rightnow. It is
also called Present
Continuous.
EXAMPLES
Marcos is answering the phone.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith are fighting againg.
The dog is eating its food.
The teacher and his student are studing.
• The present progressive is
used for actions going on in
the moment of speaking.
USES
• For actions taking place only for a short
period of time. (Extended Present)
• To express actions that are arranged
for the near future.(Future Meaning)
