This document discusses the activities of the Central Multifunction Laboratory in Murmansk Region, Russia. It details eight years of cooperation with the Research Institute for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy in Smolensk on various programs related to antimicrobial resistance containment. The laboratory participates in external quality control programs and uses automated systems to identify microorganisms and antibiotic susceptibility patterns. Genetic monitoring of nosocomial strains like Klebsiella pneumoniae has identified antibiotic resistance genes. Areas for continued international cooperation include infectious control standards, antimicrobial monitoring, hand hygiene, and ICU safety technologies.
