Who would be the Target
Audience for my thriller?
Who is my filmed aimed at?
• Our film is aimed at an age group of teenagers to around 40 year old men and
women. Our film can appeal to wide range of people due to the massive age range
we are going for. This is because the film is about a political assassination which
perhaps younger children will not be interested in or understand. Also the fact that
somebody gets shot makes it have a hard hitting story line that younger viewers
are to vulnerable to see.

I created a prezi presentation on target
audiences to show clearly, the different target
audiences for thrillers similar to mine.
Our audience
• I would expect our audience to be a boy who is 18 years old, he is a student at a
sixth form who is going to uni in the next year
• Hobbies: His hobbies are hanging out with friends, football, cinema, travelling.
• Likes: He follows the news, action/thriller movies, he is interested in politics.
• Dislikes: romantic films or comedies, cars, reading novels
• Favorite music: rock, normal chart music.
This person would be our ideal target audience as they are young but not too young to
not understand the plot, they are interested in politics so understand how
controversial it can be and have a love action/thriller films so would be very interested
in ours because it contains a lot of action in order to create suspense for the thriller.
Secondary Target Audience
• Our secondary target audience would be women over the age of 40. This because
stereotypically women would not enjoy an action thriller about an assassination.
However I think that they would also enjoy our film because firstly our story line is
gripping after seeing the opening sequence you want to know who is the
assassinator after you see him running it increases tension and anyone would want
to know who killed this political figure. Also, I think that our secondary target
audience would enjoy our thriller because our head teacher is supposed to play
the eye catching figure that the ladies like, from our research when there is
someone like this in a film it attracts a female audience. Furthermore I think our
secondary audience would enjoy our film because there are school children
involved in it this could bring out a motherly insticnt
Earlier Interviews:
• Our earlier interviews were with students at the age of 18, boys and girls
at our sixth form. They all enjoy thrillers but the girls enjoy more
psychological thrillers such as gone girl but the boys enjoy action thrillers
such as 2012. This tells us that our target audience is mainly aimed around
boys at the age of 18. These interviews were extremely useful as they gave
us a clear insight for our target audience. However both boys and girls
look for suspense which ours shows.

  • 5. Secondary Target Audience • Our secondary target audience would be women over the age of 40. This because stereotypically women would not enjoy an action thriller about an assassination. However I think that they would also enjoy our film because firstly our story line is gripping after seeing the opening sequence you want to know who is the assassinator after you see him running it increases tension and anyone would want to know who killed this political figure. Also, I think that our secondary target audience would enjoy our thriller because our head teacher is supposed to play the eye catching figure that the ladies like, from our research when there is someone like this in a film it attracts a female audience. Furthermore I think our secondary audience would enjoy our film because there are school children involved in it this could bring out a motherly insticnt
  • 6. Earlier Interviews: • Our earlier interviews were with students at the age of 18, boys and girls at our sixth form. They all enjoy thrillers but the girls enjoy more psychological thrillers such as gone girl but the boys enjoy action thrillers such as 2012. This tells us that our target audience is mainly aimed around boys at the age of 18. These interviews were extremely useful as they gave us a clear insight for our target audience.
