And (remember) when Luqmân said to his son when He was
advising him: "O My son! join not in Worship others with Allâh.
Verily! joining others in Worship with Allâh is a great Zûlm (wrong)
indeed.” (Surah Luqman: 31: 13)

11. The phrase used in the verse of Surah Luqman is
‫م‬ٌ‫ظمي‬ِ‫مي‬ ‫ع‬َ‫ظ‬ ‫مع‬ٌ‫ل‬ْ‫ٌم‬‫ظ‬ُ‫ْل‬ ‫ل‬َ‫ظ‬

In Arabic the prefix La – the laam of emphasis – is used to give stress
and force to the statement.
So, ‫م‬ٌ‫ظمي‬ِ‫مي‬ ‫ع‬َ‫ظ‬ ‫مع‬ٌ‫ل‬ْ‫ٌم‬‫ظ‬ُ‫ْل‬ ‫ل‬َ‫ظ‬ ‫ع ع‬means:
Indeed the greatest wrong!
Verily, the greatest injustice!
Surely, the greatest evil!

12. Every human being has his or her own
father. If you tell your father that he is not
your real father, will he be happy with you?
He will rather slap you for uttering the
blasphemous statement!
