Rachel Moore - The Federal Group's E-learning Journeytaselu
Prior to 2007 Federal Group had no involvement with online learning. Over the past three years we have undertaken two Framework funded projects which have helped to embed online learning as an accepted methodology within The Federal Group in a range of subject areas.
As extensive studies by Brandon Hall Group have found, there is a raging dissatisfaction with current learning technologies. About 44 percent of companies are actively considering replacing their current LMS – up 16 percent from 2015. Moreover, 34 percent of companies are actively exploring new technologies. This session explores these technologies and the state of the art of implementing them, including case studies on implementing social and experiential learning and the impact of artificial intelligence in personalized learning and competency management.

Blended Learning – A Total Training Solution, Craig JordanThe HR Observer
Corporate training has come a long way over the last 30 years significantly due to rapid technological advances. These advances have allowed us to move from the typical “chalk & talk” classroom delivery, requiring all participants to be in the same room, to the point where we can now deliver training simultaneously to a dispersed audience anywhere in the world. In its infancy, blended learning simply meant supporting classroom training with linear semi-interactive online modules but the industry now offers a variety of sophisticated tools and platforms. Providing the optimum blended learning solution for your organisation needs careful planning and preparation. This workshop will look at the options available and present a model solution for the modern work environment.

Virtual Communities of Practice: Enabling Peer-based Distance LearningKristina Schneider
I presented on the subject of Virtual Communities of Practice: Enabling Peer-based Distance Learning at the Canadian Association for Distance Education (CADE) conference in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Presen tation Summary
Virtual communities of practice are environments in which individuals with similar interests can learn from one another at a distance. Learners in this case are not limited to their local peers but are able to interact and learn from those who have similar experiences elsewhere. This type of virtual community requires design and planning in order to ensure that communication flows between its participants.
We nger, McDermott and Snyder (2002) define a community of practice as "groups of people who share a concern, a set of problems or a passion about a topic, and who deepen their knowledge and expertise in this area by interacting on an ongoing basis".

Michael Sampson - Reimagining the way we workAmcom
The rapidly changing environment is changing the way that the public sector is expected to deliver services. How can organisations do more when they are expected to do more with less?
The key could be through better utilisation of our most important resource – our people.
And the way to deliver better outcomes is through the relationship of people and technology. International Collaboration specialist Michael Sampson, was a special guest of Amcom as he shared insights into his work with global organisation on how to unlock business value from the marriage between technology and people.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
