project
 This is a Four lane Carriageway
of 25 m
 It is 800 m DP road connecting
the Palava city to both Taloja
bypass road and SH-80
Highway (Badlapur Road

5. Site Clearance
 The Area of the road
alignment which is planned is
cleared by JCB Backhoe Loader
 Site Clearance is done for
removal of shrubs or any other
organic compound which can
reduce the SBC of the soil

6. Surveying
 After Site Clearance, Surveyor surveyed the
land by the interval of 5m width wise and
lengthwise forming a grid of road
 Then two levels are taken with help of Dumpy
level of each point of grid of road
 Two levels are
 OGL – Original Ground Level
 EGL – Estimated Ground Level
 Area = D/3[FL+LL+(4xsum OL)+(2xsum
EL)]

8. Formation of Bituminous Road
 Murum Filling (1m) – Accurate levelling is done and water is used
as binder for next layer
 Rubble Soling (0.3m) – Coarse rubble used
 Water Bound Macadam (0.22m) – Mix of Agg., Sand and soil used
 Tack Coat (4 kg/sq.km) – Binder between Bituminous layer and
WBM
 Bituminous Surface course (0.05m) – Mix of Bitumen and Agg.
Sized 10 or 12mm
 Seal Coat (0.012m) – Mix of bitumen and sand

11. JCB Backhoe Loader
 Backhoe loader a loader having a tractor like unit with bucket and a small backhoe
on the back
 Max Load carrying Capacity – 1800 kg
 Shovel Capacity – 1.1 cu.m

12. Tippers
 Tippers are used to carry loose materials like soil, sand, gravel, etc
 Tippers have a open box bed which is hinged and raised by Hydraulic pistons
 Max Loading Capacity – 16200 kg

13. Contribution
 Estimation of area to be cutted or filled
 Supervision on the thickness of each layer
 Preparation of bill of the equipment used on the site
