Leaves are the part of the plant that produce food through photosynthesis using chlorophyll. Leaves have two main parts, the petiole which joins the blade to the stem, and the blade which is the flat part containing veins that support the leaf and carry water and minerals, as well as stomata on the underside that allow gases to pass through.
