Bad habits are something we don’t want to pick up. They’ll drag us down, holding us back from our potential.
And yet we let bad habits take hold in our lives. Most of the time we don’t even realize the habits are forming.
Why? Why does this happen?
We let bad habits take root because they slowly work their way into our lives.
Knowledge of what is bad and what is good is a key step towards to the avoidance of bad habits.
Children are very receptive to new information and thier education should include introduction to healthy lifestyle.

Lower Blood Sugar: Blood Sugar Levels :Top Ways 10 Healthy Foods That Help Yo...isskiki1
In this article you will learn the top healthy ways to help you lower your blood sugar and how to manage your blood sugar levels.
You will learn the top healthy food to lose weight and stay healthy. We all know how difficult it is to find a specific diet but there is a shortcut, always eat healthy.
Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, had it right: Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food. For the past several years, there has been a big push for you and me to eat our vitamins from fresh, natural foods as opposed to eating processed foods that are devoid of nutrients.
The paleo approach - achieving optimal health with paleo nutritionRikzy Jezuli
The Paleo diet consists of eating preferrably grass-fed meats, poultry, wild-caught fish, organic vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, roots, and healthy oils while avoiding most processed foods, grains, dairy, legumes, refined sugars, and unhealthy oils or transfats.
The basis for eating this way was discovered by researching the hunter-gatherer dietary practices of Paleolithic man who existed and thrived during an era prior to the developement of agriculture. Our prehistoric ancestors were omnivores who mostly foraged and hunted for food for over 2 million years.
However, with the advent of agriculture 10,000 years ago, humans began consuming more dairy, grains, sugars, and salt which led to a significant increase in obesity, disease, and death in civilized populations around the world.
The goal of following the Paleo diet is to return to humanity’s original food sources and reclaim our health!
For some reason, one of the hardest
things for a human to do is to eat right.
Whether that is because we have
limited access to resources in all areas
or if it is because we simply have too
much access to unhealthy food, there
are many reasons that eating healthy is
a challenge.
Sure, we can eat just about anything and it will sustain us. We will manage to move
from one moment to the next and be able to call ourselves healthy. But is it really
healthy to subsist on a diet of processed foods and sugary drinks? Just because we are
alive does not mean that we are healthy. And the older we get, the more our bad habits
begin to catch up with us.
It is unbelievably important to form healthy eating habits early on in life, or at least, as
early as possible to prevent any future issues from occurring. You do not want to wake
up one day and realize that you have had a nutrient deficiency for years and it is causing
complications that are almost impossible to rectify. All of us need to take more
responsibility for what we put into our bodies, because if we don’t, it can become
extremely dangerous.

If you understood precisely why sugar is so bad for you and exactly what it does to your cells in your body, I assure that you would think twice about consuming that piece of cake, fruit juice, candy, sweet soda, or ice cream, or feeding them to your youngsters.
There are several factors that affect the metabolism of a person, such as the amount of muscle tissue, the frequency of the meals one consumes, genetics, stress levels, personal diet and activity levels.
I can not emphasize enough how important it is to stretch all your muscle groups on a daily basis. We all seem to be focused on cardiovascular workouts and strength training - which is great! However, when it comes to stretching there are very few who understand the importance of keeping their muscles healthy.
Cross training offers a variety of benefits for fitness and fat loss. It builds up the strength and endurance of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. It has also some tranquilizing effect on the nerves, and it burns up calories as much as it makes your losing weight more bearable.

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex System Analysis, S...Oleg Kshivets
RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

Practical Approach and Tips For Eating Healthy
Posted by Jeanette McVoy on Apr 9th, 2015
I have been either hiking, ski skating, walking, biking 5-6 days a week for the past 30+ years. I have been also lifting
weights for 30+years 1-2 times a week. My arms and legs are pretty strong but it didn’t happen overnight. I made this
routine a habit in order to continuously get the results I have.
Exactly the same holds true with healthy eating. You will never be healthy, eating healthy foods occasionally. You
have to make healthy eating a habit if you want to obtain nutritional health.
People jump on the band wagon of healthy eating when they read books or view websites that talk about nutrition.
While many of these books and websites tell you what you should eat in-order to be healthy, they fail to teach you
how to make it a habit. Thus in a short period of time when temptations come, people fall right back into their old
unhealthy eating habits.
What is a Habit?
According to Webster’s dictionary a habit is a behavior pattern acquired by frequent repetition or physiologic
exposure that shows itself in regularity or increased facility of performance.
Can you see that if we simply apply this principle to healthy eating we will be on our way to vibrant health?
Bad Eating Habits:
Bad eating habits do not develop overnight. For most people these habits began forming when they were kids (like
eating too much sugar or drinking soda). So many kids in today’s age are addicted to sugar and eat a lot of
processed food because of convenience. Thus one reason why many adults have a hard time breaking their bad
eating habits is because these habits have been a part of their lifestyle for many years.
2. Why Do We Eat Food?
There are two main reasons why we eat food. One is to supply fuel for our body and the other reason is for pleasure.
Unfortunately some of the foods that gives us pleasure are unhealthy.
Most people make their food selections based on what they see, smell or taste. Look at these three sentences: That
cookie sure looks good! That cookie sure smells good! That cookie sure taste good!
Notice that all three statements involve food and pleasure. However the food that is producing the pleasure (in this
situation the cookie) may or may not be good for you from a nutritional standpoint. That is why we need to be wise in
our food selections and not simply leave it up to our sense of taste, sight, or smell.
Eating Healthy Can Be Enjoyable:
Some people think of eating healthy as being boring and tasteless. I think that one reason they feel this way is
because most of the commercial ads we see promote foods high in calories, fat, or sugar and only a small
percentage of food advertising is done for fruits, vegetables, grains and beans. Thus if there was more nutritional
education, more and more people would find eating healthy to be pleasurable and tasty.
Tips for Eating Smarter At Restaurants
Avoid all you can eat buffets
Watch portion sizes
Start your meal with a salad to help you avoid overeating
Drink water or unsweetened tea
Decline the bread or chips basket
Always ask for sauces and salad dressing on the side – use sparingly or bring your own
Select entrees that include vegetables
Remember, steamed, broiled, and grilled are better than fried
Tell your waiter that you do not use butter
Order an appetizer for a main course
Split an entree with a friend or ask your server to put half in a take-away container
Order a la carte – such as a grilled lean protein (without butter or sauce) and veggies
Consider fruit for dessert
Don’t be afraid to ask about ingredients or substitutions.
I strongly believe that one main reason that I am healthy is because I take personal responsibility for my health.
Making healthy eating a habit is a great part of our responsibility. Our physical bodies have laws that are governed
by proper nutrition. If we violate these laws by consistently eating unhealthy foods, we are going to have problems.
To Your Health!
