QUESTION 3+4
QUESTION 3
3. Who would be the audience for your media product?
•My audience is 16-26 year olds; this is shown as the female in
the front cover is very young which represents the age group
the magazine aims at. The magazine is of an indie
rock/alternative music genre as the featured artists on the
front cover such as the killers and the arctic monkeys are off a
indie rock/alternative music genre. Initially this music is
usually enjoyed by people of the ages of 16 to people of the
late 20s, in which this magazine targets.
QUESTION 4
• 4. How did you attract/address your audience?
• My magazine can be seen through blogger on the internet, that way I can get feedback from
people telling me what to improve and the good and bad points about my magazine.
• I have attracted my audience through style my model on the front cover, as she is
representing the genre of the magazine the target population as she is an indie rock with
artist of the age of 24.
• For my front cover I have used a large and bold masthead, again using dark colours that
reflect the genre of the magazine to attract the target audience. I have also used capital
letters for it to stand out more, as well as this I have made the font bold and dark to stand
out against the pale background colour behind the model. The model is laughing and smiling
in the front cover to appeal to the target audience. In the contents page I have only used the
model in the front covers image to show the importance of the model/artist. Throughout the
magazine including the front cover, contents page and the double page spread I have kept
the same font and colour scheme to not confuse and overwhelm the target audience.
Likewise so then the audience will be able to see the model is related with music. I have
addressed my audience through blogger, I have been able to share my magazine with
students and get audience feedback. I have grabbed the attention of my audience through
the use and choice of my model on the front cover; she represents my main target
population. To be able to attract my target audience the model has to appeal to them.
