America Clicks! was a service learning program where Bentley University students taught computer and software skills to elementary school students. The Bentley students tutored 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at Northeast Elementary School in Waltham, MA. During the tutoring sessions, the elementary students learned skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SuccessMaker software on Windows 7 computers. Both the Bentley tutors and elementary students benefited from the experience, as the tutors helped prepare the younger students for their academic and professional futures through fun lessons.

Firefox was found to be very useful and user-friendly, while being more secure than an older browser. Quizinator is a website for teachers to create and store online or printable quizzes and tests by uploading questions. Tripwow is a site for making photo slideshows that can be used for class projects, with simple uploading and editing steps. Jaycut offers free, easy-to-use video editing for both PCs and Macs.

The importance of web-logging as a teaching tool has been proven by various studies over the last few years. At the University of South Africa (Unisa) two weblog tools were used during different semesters to assist in teaching a first year programming language. A comparison was made from the learner, the facilitator and the technical viewpoint of these two weblog tools available at Unisa. This paper describes the practical considerations taken and decision-making processes followed when a choice between two web-logging tools was required. The aim is to consider factors that may affect the acceptance and use of weblog tools, and reasons why one works better than another in an Open Distance Learning (ODL) environment, especially for modules having student numbers in excess of three hundred.
