Meaning Poverty  is deprivation of things that determine the quality of life like:  food clothing shelter  safe drinking water opportunity to learn  enjoy the respect of fellow citizens
Numbers speak louder than words! One third of deaths - some 18 million people a year or 50,000 per day - are due to poverty-related causes. Every year nearly 11 million children living in poverty die before their fifth birthday.  There are over 100 million street children worldwide. 800 million people go to bed hungry every night.
Effects of Poverty Terrorism Human Trafficking -  $32 billion market Child labor  - 218 million children aged 5 to 17 are in child labor worldwide. Burglary Drug abuse Road Accidents  - 100 million street children worldwide. Floods  - Bad drainage system accumulates water. Diseases  - AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, etc.
We need to act BECAUSE……
It’s not fair… No one can choose the circumstances into which they are born.

What should be done?
“ Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” -Chinese Proverb
Stop feeding poor people  instead invest for their skills development, vocational training, etc..
What can Governments do? Stop wasteful expenditures  like military.
