Poverty is defined as being deprived of basic needs like food, water, shelter, money, and clothes. It is caused by a lack of education, natural disasters, money, greed, overpopulation, and addictions to drugs and alcohol. The harsh truth is that half of all children live in poverty, 22,000 children die daily due to poverty, and only 1% of what is spent on weapons each year could put every child in school. Possible solutions include ending war, increasing government assistance for poverty, donating unused items to charity, providing education, and creating more opportunities.
