Dowry is a social evil in India that has led to deaths reported regularly in newspapers and on television. It has spoiled married life and taken a fearful form. Dowry originally meant gifts given by a girl's parents at marriage as a symbol of love and respect to help her set up a home, but over time has become a social evil where grooms demand dowry. People should avoid attending dowry-based weddings and girls should refuse marriage proposals that involve dowry demands to help address this social issue.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

4. What is dowry system ???

help of the girl so that she may set up her home. But with
the passage of time, the sense of Dowry has changed . It
has now become a social evil.
5. Conclusion:-
People should not attend such marriages. Girls should
refuse to marry boys who ask for dowry. Dowry act should
be changed.
