The objective of this paper is to report a case study of smart dairy farming in Ontario, Canada which is the future of food production and ways that advancements related to the Internet of Things (IoT). It is impacting upon agricultural practice in the form of smart farming. Smart farming is the practice of intelligent agricultural management based upon technological data gathering farm practice for the purpose of increased levels of quality, production, and environmental protection. This paper will illustrate one example whereby partnerships among the academic world, government agencies and local food producing communities in Canada are adapting innovative thinking and smart technologies to address the need to implement the more effective agricultural practice. Food From Thought is a Canadian research project, based upon high-tech information systems to produce enough food for a growing human population while sustaining the Earth’s ecosystems. The paper will outline how one dairy farmer in Ontario has been able to apply smart farming technologies to increase milk production while maintaining the health of his cattle and preserving the environment. The review of applications of smart farming in Ontario such as digital tracking for a cow, genomic testing, digitally signaled birth, sensor driven crop management and data driven dairy production also details in this article.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to be a real game changer that will drastically improve productivity and sustainability in food and farming. However, current IoT applications in this domain are still fragmentary and mainly used by a small group of early adopters. The Internet of Food and Farm 2020 Large-Scale Pilot (IoF2020) addresses the organizational and technological challenges to overcome this situation by fostering a large-scale uptake of IoT in the European food and farming domain. The heart of the project is formed by a balanced set of multi-actor trials that reflect the diversity of the food and farming domain. Each trial is composed of well-delineated use cases developing IoT solutions for the most relevant challenges of the concerned subsector. The project conducts 5 trials with a total of 19 use cases in arable, dairy, fruits, vegetables and meat production. IoF2020 embraces a lean multi-actor approach that combines the development of Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) in short iterations with the active involvement of various stakeholders. The architectural approach supports interoperability of multiple use case systems and reuse of IoT components across them. Use cases are also supported in developing business and solving governance issues. The IoF2020 ecosystem and collaboration space is established to boost the uptake of IoT in Food and Farming and pave the way for new innovations.

SENSOR BASED SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEM WITH MONITORING AND CONTROLLING USING IN...
This document presents a sensor-based smart irrigation system using IoT. The system uses soil moisture, temperature, and humidity sensors connected to a NodeMCU microcontroller. The sensor data is sent to a cloud server (ThingSpeak) and displayed as graphs on a website. A web page allows users to control a water pump remotely. The system was tested on a field over one day, recording sensor data and pump status in the morning, afternoon and night. Test results showed the pump turned on when soil moisture fell below a threshold and off when above a threshold, conserving water. The smart irrigation system allows remote monitoring and control to help farmers irrigate crops efficiently with minimal human effort or water waste.

Big data and smart farming
Smart Farming is a development that emphasizes the use of information and communication technology in the
cyber-physical farm management cycle. New technologies such as the Internet of Things and Cloud Computing
are expected to leverage this development and introduce more robots and artificial intelligence in farming.
This is encompassed by the phenomenon of Big Data, massive volumes of data with a wide variety that can be
captured, analysed and used for decision-making. This review aims to gain insight into the state-of-the-art of
Big Data applications in Smart Farming and identify the related socio-economic challenges to be addressed. Following
a structured approach, a conceptual framework for analysiswas developed that can also be used for future
studies on this topic. The review shows that the scope of Big Data applications in Smart Farming goes beyond
primary production; it is influencing the entire food supply chain. Big data are being used to provide predictive
insights in farming operations, drive real-time operational decisions, and redesign business processes for
game-changing business models. Several authors therefore suggest that Big Data will cause major shifts in
roles and power relationsamong different players in current food supply chain networks. The landscape of stakeholders
exhibits an interesting gamebetween powerful tech companies, venture capitalists and often small startups
and new entrants. At the same time there are several public institutions that publish open data, under the
condition that the privacy of persons must be guaranteed. The future of Smart Farming may unravel in a continuum
of two extreme scenarios: 1) closed, proprietary systems in which the farmer is part of a highly integrated
food supply chain or 2) open, collaborative systems inwhich the farmer and every other stakeholder in the chain
network is flexible in choosing business partners as well for the technology as for the food production side. The
further development of data and application infrastructures (platforms and standards) and their institutional
embedment will play a crucial role in the battle between these scenarios. From a socio-economic perspective,
the authors propose to give research priority to organizational issues concerning governance issues and suitable
business models for data sharing in different supply chain scenarios.
SMART FARMING USING IOT
India, whose GDP depends on the agriculture is not a developed nation in terms of modernization in agriculture. The high cost of labor, uncertainty in the production of crops, lack of knowledge about new methods, continuing with the same orthodox and traditional means to go about agriculture, the inefficient use of proper irrigational facilities results in low productivity. Due to this uncertainty in the irrigation process the crops may also dry up. About 14.7% of India’s growth depends on the agricultural sector, so it’s a huge cause of concern.
With this project, the current problems related to farming are solved and practically implemented solutions are provided. Using IOT as well as GSM, a whole new concept of farming using networks is introduced reducing labor, updating farmer about the live conditions of farm on the mobile devices and presenting its graphical value using thing speak. It makes the process handy with the click a button reformation.
We evaluate the performance of our method in a simple temperature sensing application. In terms of reducing human efforts and ease of irrigation, our approach has been observed to outperform the existing conventional approach. We bring out the advantages and disadvantages followed by their applications. The paper concludes the work open for research.
Socio-economic impact of Big Data and Smart Farming
Big data and smart farming technologies have the potential to significantly impact socio-economic relationships in the agriculture industry. They may lead to either strongly integrated supply chains where farmers have limited freedom, or more open collaboration networks that empower farmers. In reality, the impact is likely to fall somewhere in between these scenarios. The technologies connect sensors on farms and equipment to analyze data and optimize operations. However, their adoption also raises issues around data ownership, privacy, and the balance of power between different players in the food chain. Infrastructure and software development will be key to addressing these challenges.

Big data and smart farming
Smart Farming is a development that emphasizes the use of information and communication technology in the
cyber-physical farm management cycle. New technologies such as the Internet of Things and Cloud Computing
are expected to leverage this development and introduce more robots and artificial intelligence in farming.
This is encompassed by the phenomenon of Big Data, massive volumes of data with a wide variety that can be
captured, analysed and used for decision-making. This review aims to gain insight into the state-of-the-art of
Big Data applications in Smart Farming and identify the related socio-economic challenges to be addressed. Following
a structured approach, a conceptual framework for analysiswas developed that can also be used for future
studies on this topic. The review shows that the scope of Big Data applications in Smart Farming goes beyond
primary production; it is influencing the entire food supply chain. Big data are being used to provide predictive
insights in farming operations, drive real-time operational decisions, and redesign business processes for
game-changing business models. Several authors therefore suggest that Big Data will cause major shifts in
roles and power relationsamong different players in current food supply chain networks. The landscape of stakeholders
exhibits an interesting gamebetween powerful tech companies, venture capitalists and often small startups
and new entrants. At the same time there are several public institutions that publish open data, under the
condition that the privacy of persons must be guaranteed. The future of Smart Farming may unravel in a continuum
of two extreme scenarios: 1) closed, proprietary systems in which the farmer is part of a highly integrated
food supply chain or 2) open, collaborative systems inwhich the farmer and every other stakeholder in the chain
network is flexible in choosing business partners as well for the technology as for the food production side. The
further development of data and application infrastructures (platforms and standards) and their institutional
embedment will play a crucial role in the battle between these scenarios. From a socio-economic perspective,
the authors propose to give research priority to organizational issues concerning governance issues and suitable
business models for data sharing in different supply chain scenarios.
SMART FARMING USING IOT
India, whose GDP depends on the agriculture is not a developed nation in terms of modernization in agriculture. The high cost of labor, uncertainty in the production of crops, lack of knowledge about new methods, continuing with the same orthodox and traditional means to go about agriculture, the inefficient use of proper irrigational facilities results in low productivity. Due to this uncertainty in the irrigation process the crops may also dry up. About 14.7% of India’s growth depends on the agricultural sector, so it’s a huge cause of concern.
With this project, the current problems related to farming are solved and practically implemented solutions are provided. Using IOT as well as GSM, a whole new concept of farming using networks is introduced reducing labor, updating farmer about the live conditions of farm on the mobile devices and presenting its graphical value using thing speak. It makes the process handy with the click a button reformation.
We evaluate the performance of our method in a simple temperature sensing application. In terms of reducing human efforts and ease of irrigation, our approach has been observed to outperform the existing conventional approach. We bring out the advantages and disadvantages followed by their applications. The paper concludes the work open for research.

The world is entering a period of economic uncertainty and the impact on global
economic growth is ambiguous. In contrast, these uncertainties are balancing on
emerging markets’ growth prospects particularly in India. Agriculture has always
been associated with the production of basic food crops. Agriculture and farming
were synonymous so long as farming was not commercialised. But as the process of
economic development accelerated, many other occupations allied to farming came to
be recognised as part of agriculture. Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood
for about 60% of India’s population (Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural
Households, conducted by the National Sample Survey Office). The farming industry
will become arguably more important than ever before in the next few decades.
According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, the world will need to
produce 70% more food in 2050 than it did in 2006 to feed the growing population of
the earth (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, 2012).To meet the
growing demand, farmers and agricultural companies are embracing technology for
analytics and greater production capabilities. In rural India, agriculture being one of
the largest sources of livelihood is exposed to periodic droughts and floods, and
farmers lack market access, marketing networks, and information systems. This paper
conceptualizes smart farming effectiveness and the main lessons that emanate from
this paper are that Internet of Things (IoT), combined with big data, provides farmers
with a wealth of information that they can use to maximize productivity in the
vulnerable environment and maintain the quality of food in the supply chain.

Identification of recorded information is the most important requirement for developing an effective traceability system. This paper aimed to develop an information technology (IT)-based traceability system combined with an intelligent system in potato chips agro-industry. In this paper, we present a business process in potato chips agro-industry which consists of three activities, i.e. raw materials receiving, processing, and warehousing of final products. First of all, a traceability system architecture was developed. To develop computational models, quality, food safety and environment criteria using fuzzy inference system (FIS) and adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), and intelligent decision support system (IDSS) traceability model using android front end. An internal information capture point was identified for each step and corresponding traceability information to be recorded was determined. Furthermore, a prototype IDSS was developed to represent method of information modeling on products, processes, quality, and transformation at each node in potato chips

The main purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between teachers’
perceptions towards their leadership capacity and the school’s organizational climate at Choi Hung
Estate Catholic School, Hong Kong, China. The theories used in this study were Hersey-Blanchard
Situational Leadership Theory, Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory, and Stage-Environment Fit
Theory. The survey collected data covered the whole population, 103 teachers of the selected institute participated. The research instrument was an online questionnaire including 1) Demographic information, 2) School Organizational Climate Questionnaire, and 3) the Teacher Leadership Capacity Questionnaire. The raw data collected was analyzed by frequency and percentages, descriptive statistics, and as well as standard deviation and finally, the correlation coefficient was analyzed using
Pearson product. The results of the study indicated that the teacher’s perception of their leadership
capacity was moderate (3.35), the level of school climate was moderate (3.07). The Pearson Product measuring correlation analysis indicated that there was a significant relationship between the teacher’s
perception of their leadership capacity as well as the school organizational climate were found to be
moderately positively correlated, r (103) =.547**, p = . 001. The school administration and the
teachers in the target school are recommended to enhance and embrace training programs for them to
enhance consistency, compassion, care as well as problem-solving.

School, Thailand were found to be moderately positively correlated, r (129) =.466**, p = . 001. The
recommendation was that the division head should consider improving more transformational leadership style to influence teachers’ motivation.

The main purpose of this research was to study the relationship of the teachers’ perception
towards their organizational culture and their level of job satisfaction at Kantana Institute in Thailand
during the academic year 2021-2022. A total of one hundred and twenty-three (123) from the English
department under International Education at Kantana Institute were surveyed for this study. The main resource of data was the questionnaire that investigated the teacher’s perception towards
organizational culture and their job satisfaction at Kantana Institute. The collected data were analyzed
by using the mean, standard deviation, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The
research findings indicated that the level of organizational culture was high in the school and from the
results of the teachers’ job satisfaction. The correlation analysis result showed there was a strong
positive relationship between teachers’ perception towards organizational culture and their level of
job satisfaction. The recommendations based on the results showed 1) Teachers constantly improve
their adaptability, increase their sense of responsibility as teachers, and actively communicate with
administrators to reflect their views on the surrounding environment, 2) Future researchers should
extend their studies to public and private higher education institutions to better assess lecturers’ job
satisfaction and organizational culture, and 3) Managers' perceptions of organizational culture and job satisfaction also need to be considered. In order to have a deeper understanding and be more accurate, descriptive explanatory exploratory research, qualitative, qualitative, and quantitative research
methods should all be considered.

The objective of this paper is to report a case study of smart dairy farming in Ontario, Canada which is the future of food production and ways that advancements related to the Internet of Things (IoT). It is impacting upon agricultural practice in the form of smart farming. Smart farming is the practice of intelligent agricultural management based upon technological data gathering farm practice for the purpose of increased levels of quality, production, and environmental protection. This paper will illustrate one example whereby partnerships among the academic world, government agencies and local food producing communities in Canada are adapting innovative thinking and smart technologies to address the need to implement the more effective agricultural practice. Food From Thought is a Canadian research project, based upon high-tech information systems to produce enough food for a growing human population while sustaining the Earth’s ecosystems. The paper will outline how one dairy farmer in Ontario has been able to apply smart farming technologies to increase milk production while maintaining the health of his cattle and preserving the environment. The review of applications of smart farming in Ontario such as digital tracking for a cow, genomic testing, digitally signaled birth, sensor driven crop management and data driven dairy production also details in this article.

‘Phygital’ or physical plus digital,
is a combination of a physical circumstances
or tangible objects and digital or online
technology-driven experience. This paper
introduces a challenge on potential phygital
learning environments that may induce
superior learning experiences for students
as compared to experienced realized
through either physical or digital
experiences. ‘Phygital learning’ is a novel
design concept to induce a new dimension of
learning experiences while students interact
with the physical context simultaneously as
the digital information similarly enhances
levels of competence. The authors also
illustrate a conceptual idea of phygital
learning which transforms theory to
practice. Finally, the paper argues that the
new concept of phygital can elevate
learning outcomes in alignment with 21st
Century technology by adding a form of
smart data as opposed to big data into the
mix to address a broader array of learning
styles.

The incorporation of a 3DCSM and completion of HRSC provided a tool for enhanced, data-driven, decisions to support a change in remediation closure strategies. Currently, an approved pilot study has been obtained to shut-down the remediation systems (ISCO, P&T) and conduct a hydraulic study under non-pumping conditions. A separate micro-biological bench scale treatability study was competed that yielded positive results for an emerging innovative technology. As a result, a field pilot study has commenced with results expected in nine-twelve months. With the results of the hydraulic study, field pilot studies and an updated risk assessment leading site monitoring optimization cost lifecycle savings upwards of $15MM towards an alternatively evolved best available technology remediation closure strategy.

Water polluted by dyestuffs compounds is a global threat to health and the environment; accordingly, we prepared a green novel sorbent chemical and Physical system from an algae, chitosan and chitosan nanoparticle and impregnated with algae with chitosan nanocomposite for the sorption of Malachite green dye from water. The algae with chitosan nanocomposite by a simple method and used as a recyclable and effective adsorbent for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solutions. Algae, chitosan, chitosan nanoparticle and algae with chitosan nanocomposite were characterized using different physicochemical methods. The functional groups and chemical compounds found in algae, chitosan, chitosan algae, chitosan nanoparticle, and chitosan nanoparticle with algae were identified using FTIR, SEM, and TGADTA/DTG techniques. The optimal adsorption conditions, different dosages, pH and Temperature the amount of algae with chitosan nanocomposite were determined. At optimized conditions and the batch equilibrium studies more than 99% of the dye was removed. The adsorption process data matched well kinetics showed that the reaction order for dye varied with pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order. Furthermore, the maximum adsorption capacity of the algae with chitosan nanocomposite toward malachite green dye reached as high as 15.5mg/g, respectively. Finally, multiple times reusing of algae with chitosan nanocomposite and removing dye from a real wastewater has made it a promising and attractive option for further practical applications.

Results of geophysics and pneumatic injection pilot tests during 2003 – 2007 yielded significant positive results for injection delivery design and contaminant mass treatment, resulting in permanent shut-down of an existing groundwater Pump & Treat system.
Accessible source areas were subsequently removed (2011) by soil excavation and treated with the placement of Emulsified Vegetable Oil EVO and zero-valent iron ZVI to accelerate treatment of impacted groundwater in overburden and weathered fractured bedrock. Post pilot test and post remediation groundwater monitoring has included analyses of CVOCs, organic fatty acids, dissolved gases and QuantArray® -Chlor to quantify key microorganisms (e.g., Dehalococcoides, Dehalobacter, etc.) and functional genes (e.g., vinyl chloride reductase, methane monooxygenase, etc.) to assess potential for reductive dechlorination and aerobic cometabolism of CVOCs.
In 2022, the first commercial application of MetaArray™ was performed at the site. MetaArray™ utilizes statistical analysis, such as principal component analysis and multivariate analysis to provide evidence that reductive dechlorination is active or even that it is slowing. This creates actionable data allowing users to save money by making important site management decisions earlier.
The results of the MetaArray™ analysis’ support vector machine (SVM) identified groundwater monitoring wells with a 80% confidence that were characterized as either Limited for Reductive Decholorination or had a High Reductive Reduction Dechlorination potential. The results of MetaArray™ will be used to further optimize the site’s post remediation monitoring program for monitored natural attenuation.

The popularity of functional foods among scientists and common people has been increasing day by day. Awareness and modernization make the consumer think better regarding food and nutrition. Now a day’s individual knows very well about the relation between food consumption and disease prevalence. Humans have a diversity of microbes in the gut that together form the gut microflora. Probiotics are the health-promoting live microbial cells improve host health through gut and brain connection and fighting against harmful bacteria. Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus are the two bacterial genera which are considered to be probiotic. These good bacteria are facing challenges of viability. There are so many factors such as sensitivity to heat, pH, acidity, osmotic effect, mechanical shear, chemical components, freezing and storage time as well which affects the viability of probiotics in the dairy food matrix as well as in the gut. Multiple efforts have been done in the past and ongoing in present for these beneficial microbial population stability until their destination in the gut. One of a useful technique known as microencapsulation makes the probiotic effective in the diversified conditions and maintain these microbe’s community to the optimum level for achieving targeted benefits. Dairy products are found to be an ideal vehicle for probiotic incorporation. It has been seen that the encapsulated microbial cells show higher viability than the free cells in different processing and storage conditions as well as against bile salts in the gut. They make the food functional when incorporated, without affecting the product sensory characteristics.
