Pollens are tiny particles released from plants during pollination that can cause allergies in some people. An allergy is an immune system response to a normally harmless foreign substance. Key allergens include pollen proteins that are released from plants and trigger an immune response involving immunoglobulin E and mast cells that leads to allergy symptoms. Diagnosis methods include skin prick tests and RAST blood tests to identify specific allergens, while treatments involve antihistamines, decongestants, immunotherapy, and preventing exposure to allergens.
Classification denotes the arrangement of a single plant or group of plants an distinct category following a system of nomenclature, and in accordance with a particular and well established plan.
The Shoot apex is also known as the terminal bud of plants that grows from 0.1-1.0 mm and consists of the apical meristem, developing leaves and the immediate surrounding leaf primordial. The shoot apex is present in both dicot and monocot plants.

From its initiation in 1998, the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (APG) has focused on the production of an ever-more stable system of classification of the flowering plants (angiosperms). Based largely on analyses of DNA sequence data, the system is compiled by a larger group of experts than any previous system and has the advantage of being testable, allowing for confidence levels in the system to be estimated for the first time.

Hypersensitivity reactions for Medical StudentsNCRIMS, Meerut
Hypersensitivity (animated) for MBBS Students
Hypersensitivity refers to undesirable (damaging, discomfort-producing and sometimes fatal) reactions produced by the normal immune system.
Hypersensitivity reactions require a pre-sensitized state of the host.
Four types of hypersensitivity
Type I – anaphylactic
Type II – cytotoxic
Type III – immune complex mediated
Type IV – contact, tuberculin and granulomatous
Anaphylaxis is defined as a life-threatening allergic reaction set in action by a wide range of antigens and involving multiple organ systems.
The true incidence is difficult to estimate, but in 1973 the Boston Collaborative Drug Surveillance Program reported six anaphylactic reactions and 0.87 deaths from anaphylaxis per 10,000 patients.
Reactions to insect stings alone are responsible for at least 50 deaths in the United States each year.
These figures reveal the importance of continued research into the biology of anaphylaxis along with developing new (and improving existing) therapies.

When your immune system reacts to a food or substance that typically doesn’t trigger a reaction in most people, such as pollen, bee venom, or pet dander, allergies might develop. Your body creates molecules called antibodies.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Strategies for Effective Upskilling is a presentation by Chinwendu Peace in a Your Skill Boost Masterclass organisation by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan on 08th and 09th June 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM on each day.

An allergy is an immune system

body.
The term allergy was first coined
on july 24,1906 by Clemens Von
Pirquet,a pediatrician from
Vienna.

5. When pollen grains develop within the anther
tapetum during pollen wall formation, some protein
factors get deposited in the intra-tapetal chamber.
proteins are highly soluble in water, quite liable in
nature and get released immediately when they are
logged on the stigmatic surface of flower or nasal
mucosa or conjunctive of human beings and causes
allergy.

9. COMPONENTS OF ALLERGIC REACTIONS
Immunoglobuin E(IgE)
Fig:-Immunoglobuin E (IgE)
The concentration of IgE
is the lowest in blood
serum (about 0.002%)
It is responsible for
hypersensitive reaction or
allergy
IgE bound to basophiles
and mast cells where it
mediate the release of
histamine that cause
immediate type of hyper
sensitivity
10. B cell:
B lymphocyte producing cell originate from
bone marrow
In mammals B-cells mature within the bone
marrow and released from there enter into
lymph gland
Encounter by specific antigen, B-cells get
activated into memory & plasma cell
T-cell:
When B-cell released from bone marrow it
migrate to thymus gland, hence known as T-
cells.
It represents 70-80% of total lymphocytes
11. Mast cells:
Mast cells precursor are formed on the
bone marrow.
Mast cell release the mediator that cause
the patho-physiology of the immediate
and late phase of atopic disease.
Basophils:
Basophils are phagocytic motile,
polymorohonuclear granulocyte found
in differentiate form.
Basophils granules contain heparin and
histamine that cause constuction of
smooth muscles and endothelial cells.

16. DIAGNOSIS
Skin Prick test:
With skin prick test, a health care
doctor uses a needle to place a tiny
amount of pollen extract just bellow
the surface of the skin on the lower
arm or back if the patient is allergy
there will be swelling or redness at
the test side
Radio allergy sorbent
test(RAST):
This is specific IgE blood testing
This is the alter test of skin test.
18. Immunotherapy
Allergy shots:-
A treatment program, which can take
three to five years, consists
of injection of a diluted allergy
extract
Allergy shots alter the body's
immune response to allergens.
Sublingual tablets:-
Patients dissolve a tablet under the
tongue daily
19. PREVENTION
Limit outdoor activities when pollen counts are high.
Keep windows closed during pollen season.
Start taking allergy medicine before pollen season
begins
Bath & shampoo hair before going to bed.
Keep house and lawn clean.
Avoid allergenic sources.
20. CONCLUSION
The pollens are tiny, microscopic particle present in the air dispersed
from the plant, and its show diversification of shape, size and colour.
So these all about good fact of pollen.
The bad fact of the pollen that it causes allergy to human body. But all
the plant not causing allergy, some notorious plant mainly causing
allergy, such as-Ragweed pollen.
When we know that these plants are harmful to our body, then we take
various preventive majors.
If the allergic symptoms appears then we straight go clinic to diagnosis
to find out specific allergen.
Various awareness program is held on institution to spread out the
knowledge about pollen allergy.
