The document discusses strategies for increasing internet access and reducing poverty through digital inclusion in Colombia. It outlines Colombia's plan to multiply internet connections by 4 times by 2014 to reach more households and businesses. The plan is governed by principles of public-private partnership and reducing barriers to expand infrastructure and access. The specific goals are to increase online government services, transition to paperless systems, and link all public entities to an electronic contracting system to improve transparency and civic participation.

The data contained in the sustainability report regarding significant impacts, compared to economy, environment and society, of Telecom Italia on its stakeholders.
This article provides an overview of current international e-Government practices and the role of the national identity management infrastructure program in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in supporting e-Government development. It describes the benefits of e-Government that various governments worldwide have identified, sheds light on some recent surveys on the delivery of e-Government by some countries, highlights some examples and puts the position of the United Arab Emirates into context. It then discusses the program's use of Identity Management in the strategic initiatives, explains their purpose in the facilitation of e-Government within the United Arab Emirates and describes a general roadmap for implementation.
The current economic and social environment is pushing governments to transformational change in order to meet increasing public expectations of public-sector value and cost effective outcomes. Modern information and communication technology (ICT) has shown its potential to enable government service availability and delivery, but governments are relying on their agencies to create their own value systems without reference to national-level service and value oriented agendas. This article explores the role of technology in developing more effective and joined up government. It proposes a framework for governments and policy makers to guide them in the field of service provision and overall governance. The components of the proposed framework reflect fields of practice that in which governments should engage to ensure that their agencies comply with strategic national information technology (IT) objectives.
[2011] Next Generation e-Government: Transformation into Open Government - Ol...e-Democracy Conference
e-Democracy Conference 2011 presentation titled 'Next Generation e-Government: Transformation into Open Government' by Oleg Petrov, Program Coordinator at World Bank
Exploring Factors Relating to the Use of E-Government Services, as Perceived ...Abdullah Mohammed
From as early as 1999, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago recognized the positive benefits that ICT could bring to its operations, to the private sector, and to its citizens. Since then, much work has been done to lay the foundations for e-Government and e-Business. Although the potential benefits are high, progress has been slow, and because of this, citizens have had little exposure to local e-Government and e-Commerce service offerings.
This study takes a first look at the factors that would affect Trinidad and Tobago citizens’ intentions to use an online, transactional e-Government service using constructs from the Technology Acceptance Model (Davis 1989), the Diffusions of Innovations Theory (Rogers 1995), two forms of Trust (Carter and Bélanger 2005), and user characteristics. Hypothesis testing revealed that the six constructs in the model were significantly correlated with use intentions, along with three other demographic variables. Interestingly, Gender, Age and Agent assistance were not found to be statistically significant. Findings from correlations, the factor analysis and the multiple regression model were presented, and the implications for e-Government leaders and project implementers are discussed.
