Plants are living things that move, breathe, excrete, reproduce, grow and interact with their environment. They produce their own food through the process of photosynthesis, where they take carbon dioxide from the air and use energy from sunlight to make their own food. Reproduction in plants occurs when pollen is transferred between flowers of the same species by bees or other insects, allowing fertilization to take place and seeds or fruits to develop. The plant life cycle involves a seed germinating into a plant, the mature plant producing flowers and seeds, and those seeds germinating to form new plants.
