Planning Teaching for 2011-12 Criminology Team, School of LJCS
Communication for the students Module issues Pastoral issues 	Student  	Module leader       	Course Leader 	Student  	Personal tutor 	Course Leader
Module tutor Set summative assessment and give to Course Leader for the verification procedure (week 1). Monitor attendance and chase up all absences - in the first instance email ‘chasing’ will suffice. All email addresses are accessible in the ‘participants’ section on your moodle module section. If the absence still persists – communicate with the Course Leader.
Personal tutor Devise relevant scheme of work and ensure that induction information has been conveyed. Remind the students of the centralised number for students to call in to report they are sick or an explained absence  - 01254 292840.  This is the only method for reporting such an absence.  It means that registers will be automatically populated with this information. Personal tutors to ensure the tutorial section of moodle displays the FAQs info for this.
FRIDAY OCTOBER 21ST 2011 The above date is essential for all tutors as it is the last time when a student can be withdrawn without ‘penalties’ being invoked. Have we all tried to make sure the students are on the right course? How do you know?

  • 3. Module tutor Set summative assessment and give to Course Leader for the verification procedure (week 1). Monitor attendance and chase up all absences - in the first instance email ‘chasing’ will suffice. All email addresses are accessible in the ‘participants’ section on your moodle module section. If the absence still persists – communicate with the Course Leader.
  • 4. Personal tutor Devise relevant scheme of work and ensure that induction information has been conveyed. Remind the students of the centralised number for students to call in to report they are sick or an explained absence  - 01254 292840. This is the only method for reporting such an absence.  It means that registers will be automatically populated with this information. Personal tutors to ensure the tutorial section of moodle displays the FAQs info for this.
  • 5. FRIDAY OCTOBER 21ST 2011 The above date is essential for all tutors as it is the last time when a student can be withdrawn without ‘penalties’ being invoked. Have we all tried to make sure the students are on the right course? How do you know?
