Planning for a new music television channel
For my music channel I plan to broadcast new and old house(also known as garage) songs. This
will apply to both young and an older audience widening my target audience. The genre of my
channel(new and old garage) will help me decide on my logo, name and layout for the channel.
Name
MC (Music Channel)MBTY (Music
brought too you)
House Now
ED (Electronic dance)
House
Music
In order to create a logo suitable for my channel I need to gather some basic information and
history on my genre to ensure the logo suggest a certain image and type of music featured.
House is an evolution of garage they both explore heavy base and dancing music most
recognisable in clubs. It is most remembered from the 1970s.
‘House Now’ I chose this name as it notifies the audience what style the music is avoiding any
confusion and it also suits the genre perfectly.
Logo
• I chose this as my logo as it
explores the idea of love for house
which is also known as garage and
the music notes symbolise the
music. Also I chose to use pick and
yellow against the black to make
them stand out and look brighter
than they are. Pink and yellow are
particularly bright and suggest fun
as they are such bold colours.
Target Audience
• My target audience will be between 13-40 years of age as not only will I be keeping up to date with
the new music released I will be including old songs known as ‘old school garage’ this widens my
audience and appeals to a variety of people. My channel will be unisex and doesn’t have a limit to
what kind of person can listen too it. It all depends on peoples personal choice of music as in
whether they like fast beat songs, slow songs etc.. However this doesn’t seem to be an issues as a
lot of songs within the genre of garage/house seem to explore various sounds and different paces.
