The document proposes a music video for the song "Somebody Told Me" by the band The Killers. The video will feature scenes of the band performing on stage along with cutaway scenes of them in different situations like backstage and signing autographs. Both the clothing and props used will match the indie/rock genre. The proposed album packaging will feature an image of the band members evolving and use a color scheme of red, white, and black that is conventional for the genre. The magazine advertisement for the album will follow the same color scheme and fonts as the album packaging to help audiences recognize and link it to the band and album.
1. Pitch
Our music video is for the indie/rock genre and will
most interest the audience who enjoy this music genre. The
song we are doing is ‘Somebody Told Me’ by ‘The Killers’
that is a very popular song in this genre. We chose this song
because when we did our questionnaire we asked people
who liked indie/rock music what their favourite band was
and a lot of people said ‘The Killers’ so we decided to do a
song by them. We chose ‘Somebody Told Me’ because it is an
upbeat song and is catchy.
We decided to make a music video where the band is
performing the song on a stage, and we are going to have
cutaway scenes of the bands in different situations
including; backstage, signing autographs and listening to a
song. We have planned to use a wide variety of camera shots
and angles and a lot of editing techniques, we decided to do
this to keep the video fresh and to stop the audience from
becoming bored. The clothing we are wearing will match the
indie/rock genre and the props being used will fuel this
convention e.g. microphones, guitars and drums.
For my album digipak I plan to have an image of the
four band members in the form of evolution as the album is
called evolution, the colour scheme is going to be the
conventional indie/rock colour scheme with red, white and
black.
For my magazine album advert I plan to
follow the same colour scheme as the actual
album with the red, white and black and
continue with the same fonts as the album
digipak so the audience recognize the font
and link it to the band and the album.
