7. How This Applies to Art
-Pinterest, like Diigo and Feedly, is an
organizational application.
-Widely accessible by population.
-Popular amongst high school and
middle school students.
-Easily accessible by parents.
8. How This Applies to Art
-Students can browse the internet, and
find artwork and movements they are
studying in their Art History Classes.
9. How This Works
-Students will be given an assignment each
night to browse the web and find 3-5
photos of a piece of artwork, that is from
the movement they are currently studying.
-They will contribute their findings to a
common class Pinterest account. The
username and password will be accessible
to ONLY the students of the class, that
way, they have easy access to the
information for tests.
10. How This Works
-Students will find photographs, click on
the “pin it” button, and write in the
caption specifics.
More artistic PresentationPinterest can be shared on facebook and twitterMany parents have little to no qualms with pinterest because there is little to no contact with strangers, it’s just creating a virtual scrapbook
Example: Post-Impressionism would lead to choosing artists like: Van Gogh, Degas, Gauguin, etc. Explain that this extends to different movements and different forms of art.
Students will not be allowed to use the same artists, in order to avoid everyone picking common artists – after all, this IS art history and getting kids to learn more about art. Artist, dates, medium, movement and 3-5 sentances on why this piece is important, or discussing composition of the piece.
