This is an overview on how this course has helped increase my knowledge of social media tools and a brief summary of what each tool is.

years, to keep in touch with friends and
families and share news and information

to enhance my knowledge and get familiar
with more social media tools
• Learned about how large and small companies
benefit from using social media tools and how
it effects the success of the business
• Learned the different trends in media and

• Allows you to write personal opinions about
different topics on your own personally
designed page
• Allows for people with similar interests on
topics to have discussions
• It is free and easy to use for any age group
• There are no rules about sentence structure or
grammar

• I used blogger to post blogs on my opinions
about the future of social media, if social
media can bring real change, and how it has
increased the quality of news

• Share pictures and mini blogs about what is

• Adjust privacy setting to allow who you want
to view your personal page
• Share articles, stories, news and opinions
• Plan parties and events in an easy and

• Join groups that are of interest to you

• I use facebook for personal contact with
friends and family
• To notify anyone of important articles or news
• To update any changes in my life that are
important to me
• To upload pictures and stories to share

8. LINKED IN
• Linked in is a great tool for job searching
• It allows you to showcase your skills and
information for employers to see
• The site actually uses you personal
information to find jobs, companies and
articles that may interest you
• It is very user friendly and you can tweak the
page to incorporate some of you own style

9. LINKEDIN
• I just recently signed up for an account on
linked in
• It is a great way to find jobs and articles that
interest me
• It is an easy way to post information to
employers about my skills, work
history, education and interests
• Linked in allows me to forms groups of
interest and suggests ones to join

10. TWITTER
• This social media tool allows you to follow
people or companies that interest you, for
updates on current news
• People can also follow you such
as, employers, peers and co-workers to see up
to date mini blogs
• It is one of the best ways to communicate an
event or idea to a large group of people

11. TWITTER
• I recently joined twitter after realizing how
great it is to organize what news and
information you get
• You can tailor twitter to what companies and
people that you wants updates on
• I was able to follow newsgroups and
companies that I am interested in

12. CONCLUSION
• This Social Media and Society course has allowed
me to increase my knowledge about all of the
different tools available and how they enable me
to share information and opinions to
employers, friends, family and groups of interest.
• I am glad that I tool this course because it has
broadened my horizons and opened my eyes to
all of the tools available to me to use for free
