Corner Sprinklers Research
In this problem, the football field will need a fresh watering or irrigation system. This is for the
football field to be moist so the grass within the field will not get dried up. The sprinklers will be
placed on corners, the sides and in the middle. The corner sprinklers spray 90 degrees. The side
sprinklers spray 180 degrees. The sprinklers that are in the middle or away from corners or sides spray
around about of 360 degrees. All the sprinklers in the football field can spray of 40 feet. The number
of sprinklers in the football field is 50. 10 spinklers going along the length and 5 sprinklers on the
width. This multiplies to the number 50. Sprinklers were placed everywhere on corners, sides and in
the middle 40 feet apart from each other so that the whole football field could be watered without any
water being wasted. The pipes are placed on top, middle and bottom of the field which extends to 360
feet, left and right. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of If Black English IsnT A Language Then Tell Me...
James Baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, and poet. In the essay If Black English
Isn t a language, then tell me what is? James Baldwin asserts an argument as how Language is like the
ID of people, it can identify, as well as define people. Due to the characteristics it has, it can be
defined as a persuasive essay. It attempts to persuade the readers to be on the writer s side, or accept
the point of view of the author. This significant essay was written in the 1970s. It indicates how
language is not merely used for communication, but can be used to classify people with different
social backgrounds and class. Baldwin used examples like how people in England talk make sense to
their own people and not everyone else. He used this example to illustrate his thought of why Black
English is not recognized as a real language. In addition, he thought that the white man never meant to
teach the Blacks English. That is also the reason why he thinks black children are lost, and can t be
taught by people who despise them. The inability of the salves to interact with each other made them
create black English. Which was their own means of communication. Baldwin s article has a lot to say
about the impact that language has on African American people and his positive approach is supported
with strong historical events, and the author s anger behind this writing makes it stronger. However,
the assumption about education makes the article weak, because it is not well

A Short Note On Energy Drink And India Essay
V energy drink was first launched in New Zealand in August 1977, it was first expected that the
product would produce and sell domestically (within NZ). It was such a massive hit in NZ, it soon
took over 60% of the overall drinks market in NZ in 2003 and over 53% in Australia, making it the
most popular drink in both countries. V energy drink is currently being sold in 18 different countries
including Spain, Australia, Argentina, and the UK. India is not currently selling V Energy drink. We
have chosen to send this product to India because it has grown very popular in a short time, within NZ
and Australia, and it has all the ingredients that would suit the Indian taste. The energy drinks market
in India is at a nascent stage and it has huge potential for growth. There is more than one reason why I
am taking this product to India and I will explain below.  cultural / social environment: Increased
urbanisation, rising disposable income and growing health consciousness among the Indian youth has
increased the demand for non carbonated drinks called energy drinks. At the same time long and
erratic working hours and the increasing occurrence of social gatherings are driving Indian consumers
towards consumption of energy drinks which are primarily classified as non alcoholic, caffeinated
beverages and sports drinks. India is one of the fastest developing consumer markets, especially for a
product targeted towards the young and as well as young adults, mostly belonging to upper

The Philosophies Of Christianity And Buddhism Essay
Absract
A worldview is the way an individual understands and processes the world and reality. Worldviews
can be realized by answering seven questions. Most religions have a worldview that is unique to its
belief system. This paper aims to compare the worldviews of Christianity and Buddhism, and their
implications on health care. Important factors regarding care provided by those of other religions will
be discussed. The common components to different religions, as well as the author s personal views
and new perspectives, will also be discussed.
Health Care Provider and Faith Diversity America is known as a melting pot of cultures, and because
of this, health care providers encounter patients and families from a multitude of different
backgrounds and religions. Every religion comes with its own set of beliefs, rituals, and worldview.
What each culture or religion believes as truth can effect their view of health and wellness. Health care
providers must be accommodating and understanding of these differences. This paper will discuss the
differences in worldview between Christianity and Buddhism, as well as the implications of these
beliefs for health care. It will also discuss the common factors between religions regarding healing,
and important issues to be aware of when caring for patients of a different belief system.
The Christian Worldview
The Christian worldview is centered on God, the father of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that God

Deborah Willis By Deborah Willis
Deborah Willis was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She graduated from the University of Victoria
and worked as a newspaper reporter. Currently she works as a bookseller in Victoria B.C. She is a
Canadian author of short stories that won Prim International s annual fiction prize. Also, she was
appeared in the Bridport Prize Anthology Event, and Grain. The book Vanishing and other stories has
14 stories and most of the stories have common elements. They are all about relationships and how
they have disintegrated, or disappeared, or become part of the past which will never come back. For
the most of the time Willis tells a story in three tenses which are in memories from a point in the
future, the principal focus is on a more recent past, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Willis tells her short stories in three tenses. The short story Fiancée. Where Penny goes back and forth.
In the beginning she s with Andrew her fiancée packing to move to Calgary but the in the next
paragraph she s in the future. And it does not stop there, the third paragraph is about recent past. The
stories are all over the place but not in missed up way, instead it flows very well. The downside to it, it
is how most of the stories end. The endings are horrible because there is no explanation for the readers
to understand. In the story Fiancée, Penny is supposed to be back in Montreal to reunites with her
fiancée Andrew. The quote state: She will return to Montreal at the end of the month. Her ticket is
booked and Andrew expects her. (120). It seems like she will go back to her lover but she does not.
Furthermore, Penny argue: I ll probably just keep going west, she says. Get on the train and go all the
way to Vancouver. (120). It is kind of confusing how she s changing her mind. The ending of The
Fiancee story is not understandable because Willis does not give any information how Penny ended
up. On the other hand, the short story This Other Us has an ending which has no clue how the
character Lise ends up. Lise is supposed to come home and see her boyfriend Lawrence waiting for
her but instead she comes to see Lawrence with his ex girlfriend Keren who is also Lise s best friend.
She hopes that Lawrence told Karen everything about him and Lise. Well that did not happened:
Lawrence obviously hadn t told her anything, and that s why she put her arms around me. (95).
actually there is no information where its shows that Lawrence did or did not told Keren about their
relationship. The ending is so bad because the readers are not satisfied how the short story ended. The
last line from the story state: Everything s going to be okay, I thought maybe she

NCAA Football Playoff System Essay
NCAA Football Playoff System
Thesis: The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) formula has been used to determine the top twenty five
teams in NCAA Division I college since 1998. Many think this system is inadequate and should be

Brad Edwards, a writer for ESPN.com, has this to say about the computer system: Though this may be
the weakest part of the (BCS) equation, it can still make a difference. Last year, pollsters eventually
overlooked Wisconsin s loss to Cincinnati, but the computers didn t. The result: the Badgers had an
average computer ranking of 7.71 despite ranking fourth in both polls. 7.71 is the average of where the
team is in the rankings among the top twenty five teams in the nation according to the seven
computers.
The second part of the Bowl Championship Series formula is the two polls. One comes from the
associated press and the other comes from coaches around the league. The Associated Press polls are
organized by a number of different newspapers, magazines, and media. While the NCAA football
coaches put together the Coaches poll. This is probably the most critical element of the four because it
has only two subsets (the media and coaches polls) to be averaged (Edwards). The polls are run
similarly to the computers; the two ranking are simply averaged together. The impact held by each
poll is greater than that of any one computer or any one opponent. It is no coincidence that the top two
poll teams have played for the national title in both years of the

Eastern Woodlands Culture
Have you ever heard of the Eastern Woodlands? They are the indigenous people of North America.
The Eastern Woodlands extended roughly from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great lakes. They re a part of
the first nation groups and so are the Inuit, Pacific Coast, Plains, and the Eastern Coast. All of the Frist
Nation groups have different lifestyles. The Eastern Woodlands have a fascinating life and culture.
Now you know who the Eastern Woodlands are, we can learn a bit more about them now.

The men were responsible for hunting and fishing. While the women were in charge of farming (if
they did any) and of gathering various types of berries, nuts, tubers, and other plants to eat. Women s
had lots of jobs to do such as, taking down and setting up the family s Wigwam, looking after the kids,
and making all the clothes. Men usually travelled long distances to catch food. These were the family
roles of the Eastern Woodland people.
Homes The Eastern Woodlands didn t live in apartment building or houses like we do now. Instead,
most would live in dome shaped Wigwams . While others would live in Concial Wigwams similar to
the plain tipis . It was always the women s job to set up and take down the Wigwams . The Wigwams
frame would be made of either spruce or birch trees. Then the Wigwams would be covered in birch
bark and layers of the wood for protection against precipitation and the wind. Inside of the Wigwam
was a rock fire pit to keep the family warm. This is where the Eastern Woodlands lived.

Noam Chomsky Controversy
Noam Chomsky talks about an abundance of points in the 1992 documentary, Manufacturing Consent:
Noam Chomsky And The Media. However, one main point that stuck out was Chomsky s view on
Public Relations in the media. One might wonder what public relations involves, well it involves
advertisements for a company or a group. Chomsky views public relations in a naysay style and aims
to grasp the true meanings behind each. Public Relations include the cancer ribbon awareness, support
the troops, and those tear jerking commercials about animals and people in need. In the novel, Media
Control The Spectacular Achievements of Propaganda, Noam Chomsky writes It s not even a

marketing opportunities and problems, monitors and evaluates marketing actions and performance,
and communicates the findings and implications to managements. This basically means that, a

The Slingshot Is A Weapon Used By People For Generations

Background Research.
The slingshot is a weapon used by people for generations. It was originally just a strapped sling used
to propel rocks. It usually was used as a lightweight hunting weapon and sometimes for defense
(Yoder.) People had used it by rapidly spinning the string and letting it go, sending the rock flying at
high speeds. It wasn t until the mid 1800 s that the traditional slingshot we all know of today came
into play (Yoder.) It was a y shaped stick with two elastic bands tied between two endpoints at either
of the upper ends of the Y. It is a seemingly simple machine, where all you have to do to be able to use
it was point, pull, and release. This is what made them ideal for children to play with in the late 1800 s
and early 1900 s. However, slingshots are not as simple as people originally thought. Slingshots have
a lot of scientific and mathematical concepts that are the reason it was such a useful weapon back in
the day and a great form of entertainment today.
The history of the slingshot is not what most people expect. As stated earlier, the earliest form of the
slingshot is the strapped sling. One of the earliest accounts of a single sling being used was in The
Bible s David and Goliath, where David slung a rock at Goliath. Sadly, this was highly inefficient due
to its lack of accuracy and even though it is light, you had to spin it around to pick up enough speed to
be able to

The Thousand And One Nights And The Decameron
Women used to be seen as below men and were not given equal opportunities that men were. Authors
started to write books and stories to show that women can be put in situations where they break
adversity and show their worth against men. Men used to believe that they were above women at all
times and that no matter what they could do what they would like to a woman and not be questioned,
and this is where gender roles and social norms started to be a huge factor in everyday life. In both the
thousand and one nights and the Decameron, women are seen as not worthy of much and are seen as
being downgraded in many situations. Even though certain social norms and behaviors are portrayed
in the thousand and one nights and the Decameron, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Decameron, women are viewed as powerless, but if the reader reads between the lines they will
see that women hold most of the power because the wife still gets her way and the husband is left
alone. The roles are evident for both men and women and that is whatever the man wants usually is
what happens, except for the suicide attempt. In both the Decameron and the thousand and one night s
women have certain roles set about women, which include that women are under men and should
always do what the man says.
In the thousand and one nights, women can be seen as degrading themselves while doing the act of
cheating. After King Shahrayar witness his wife cheating on him, he told his brother that No one is
safe in this world. Such doings are going on in my kingdom and in my very palace. Perish the world
and perish life! (560) This proved that he did not respect women anymore because his wife was
cheating on him in his own area, and this was a representation of his wife degrading herself since she
looked for other sources of love and feelings. The action of cheating showed that women cheat on
their husbands to take revenge because of the unfair and unrightfully treatment that they are put
through. After the cheating, the King sees down on women because of how he was treated. This

Why I Didn t Treat Women
There was a time in my life where I didn t treat women in the way they should have been treated. I use
to play games with their feelings and didn t care if they got hurt because I was only looking out for
myself. The reason I was like this was because I ve seen my older siblings get their heart broken, so I
made up in my mind that I would not have that happen to me. So whenever I would date a young lady
I would always have someone I was talking to on the side but I would lie to the person I was with
saying that I wasn t seeing no one but them. One instance I was dating this girl who I grew to like very
much to the point where I wasn t talking to no one but her. This was the very first time in my life
where I had really opened up to a girl and experienced what it was like to be in love. Then one day I
was out with my cousin and saw my girlfriend all hugged up on another guy. I was very hurt and
humiliated because my cousin was there to witness me get my heart broken. That moment in my life
taught me how those other young ladies who really liked me felt when I was treating them in that
manner. I would say that I m not the same person that I was a year ago. I m different because I no
longer have a young boy s mindset but yet I m growing daily and learning from the mistakes I ve
made in the past. Five years ago I was different because I was looking for ways to better myself as a
person. Ten years ago I was very big on trying to the very best cymbal twirler in my

The music industry seems to allow very minimal Black cultural contribution to even do that, as
opposed to the history of American music has told the same story over many times whereas African
Americans creates a musical style or genre, only to later be replaced by white artists with more
mainstream appeal. This trend can be seen in everything from Rock n Roll, Country music, Pop music
to more recently Hip Hop and RnB where white artists like Iggy Azalea, Macklemore, Robin Thicke
and Justin Timberlake dominates today s Hip Hop/R B charts. White people may be able to participate
in or appropriate Black styles, but they rarely innovate or enhance them, so the genre slowly withers

Why A Parent s Help And Guidance Important For A Child s...
Whilst I would consider a parent s help and guidance important in a child s linguistic development,
this development would be impossible without innately organized circuitry to do the learning (210,
Pinker). Therefore, a language cannot simply be taught. The human brain can seemingly process
information in some way that is involuntary and requires no real conscious effort; the only type of
help or guidance a child requires is exposure to a stimulus. Therefore, I believe that a parent s help and
guidance is not imperative, it is just helpful in an infant s linguistic progress.
There are different, quite opposing theories as to how children actually acquire language. On the one
hand, in discussing the formal, nativist approach, grammar is conceptualized as a set of abstract
categories, structures and principles, and constraints that are genetically encoded as an innate
Universal Grammar (319, Genetti). On the other hand, the discourse based theory states that grammar
is viewed as a set of forms and functions that are constantly being shaped by the mental processes and
communicative needs of speakers and hearers as they use language in everyday talk (discourse) (319,
Genetti). Although I do consider the latter discourse theory to be important in a child s language
development, as a child will to some degree imitate their caregiver, they will only do this when they
are mentally ready and capable to do so. Therefore the nativist theory is a very credible concept in

The Conservation Of Yellowstone Wildlife Essay
Conservation: Yellowstone is extraordinarily large, with 290 waterfalls, 17 rivers and acreage
spanning across portions of three states. According to Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk, his park
is at the heart of the largest intact ecosystem in the temperate zone in the United States, if not the
world (interview). It s called the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) and within its borders lay two
national parks (Grand Teton and Yellowstone), four national wildlife refuges, and seven national
forests. This important biological reserve is the largest protected area in the lower 48 states and
provides critical habitat for some of the world s most iconic wildlife. Unfortunately, many plant and
animal species today face endangerment, mainly because their natural habitats are being destroyed.
National parks work to conserve wildlife by safeguarding these habitats that provide a safe space for
wildlife to breed and survive. The bison are an emblem of the wildness of the West and a Yellowstone
icon. A struggling population that was almost extinct at the turn of the century has been successfully
recovered. More than 5500 bison now live inside and in areas surrounding Yellowstone park
(interview). This park contains the largest concentration of mammals in the lower 48 (interview). In
addition to bison, those inhabitants include wolves, lynxes, grizzly bears, foxes, elk and moose

nothing I had ever experienced. I was up and doing pretty well for about 40 feet. Then my toe caught
the water and I went face first into the wake of the boat. As I swam up to the surface of the water i
started laughing uncontrollably, I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to inhale water. When I
reached to surface my lungs were burning, it felt like I had gone without air for hours. The boat circled
back around and a lot of my friends were doing the same thing I was doing. Through the laughing and

Eradicating the Deaf-World Essays
Eradicating the Deaf World
Just like members of other minorities, such as Hispanics and African Americans, Deaf people
experience some of the same oppression and hardships. Although the attempts to fix members of and
obliterate the DEAF WORLD are not as highly publicized as problems with other minorities, they still
exist. Throughout time, hearing people have been trying to destroy the DEAF WORLD with the
eugenics movement, the mainstreaming of Deaf children into public hearing schools, and cochlear
implants.
Overall, the eugenics movement was meant to discourage Deaf people from socializing,
intermarrying, and reproducing with each other. But these goals are very much unachievable. When

So the fact that laws were passed to sterilize Deaf people shows again the attempts to do away with
Deaf people and the DEAF WORLD. Even as recently as 1992, researchers at Boston University
claimed to find the gene responsible for a common type of inherited deafness. The director essentially
stated that these findings would lead to genetic engineering, which in essence, would eradicate many
Deaf people. These researchers want to insert genetic material to prevent hereditary hearing
impairment (Lane, 1996:385). Really, they want to stop deafness before it starts. The eugenics
movement takes on many forms, but they are all aimed at destroying the DEAF WORLD.
Mainstreaming Deaf children into hearing public schools, with or without interpreters, has the
potential to abolish the DEAF WORLD. A Deaf child s natural language is American Sign Language.
Therefore, they should be exposed to and taught as much ASL in school as possible. When Deaf
children are mainstreamed into public schools, they lost contact with other Deaf children with whom
they can associate and sign with. Many Deaf adults have remained friends with people they met while
attending residential schools. For parents that have children with other disabilities, mainstreaming has

you can do what you want and play it as much as you want over these two days. Second of all, you
will always have fun during Game Day. All of your other sports might be boring but, Game day will
give you new options on sports. You will always be active and running around like a madman with
momentum. You will be filled wit a ton of exhilaration. You also will always be with friends so you
can t get bored from that, right? So now you know that Game Day will be the day for excitement and
fun instead of you being boring and dull. Third, you will always be excited and get hyped up to

Market Theory, Capital Asset Pricing Model
Capital market has deep developed this century, more and more investors go into this market. Which
security is better? How to invest? Investors need numeric index to make decision. There are some
theories to help investors: portfolio theory, capital asset pricing model (CAPM), option pricing model
and so on. This essay will explain portfolio theory firstly. Secondly, this essay will explain CAPM and
discuss the importance of the assumptions of CAPM. Thirdly, this essay will explain arbitrage pricing
theory (APT) and factors model. Finally, this essay will compare CAPM with APT and factors model.
Harry Markowitz put forward portfolio theory in 1952; portfolio theory is that using portfolio
diversification to eliminate non systematic risk; portfolio theory uses mathematical methods σanalysis
the relationship between risk (variance) and expect return (mean) (Brealey, Myers and Allen,2014).
Mean variance criterion is very important for Portfolio theory. The mean is the expect return of
portfolio, the formula of expect return for one asset is: E (r) = ∑_(all states)▒〖r×y(states)〗 r is
return; y is the probability of return. Formula of expect return for portfolio is: E(r) =w_1*E (r_1) +
w_2*E (r_2) + ... + w_n*E (r_n) w is the weight of an asset in the portfolio. The variance represents
risk of portfolio, and the formula of portfolio s variance is: σ^2=E [〖(r ¯r)〗^2] = ∑_(i,j=1)^n▒
〖w_1 w_2 Cov(r_1,r_2)〗 Cov is the covariance. If there are just two assets, this

The King In Oedipus The King
In the popular Greek tragedy Oedipus the King, the plot shows how a single bad trait can lead to the
fall of a once great man. The author Sophocles portrays the story of the titular where a hero rises to
fame after solving the city of Thebes great riddle. The solution to the riddle frees Thebes of its curse
from the Sphinx and relieves the city s misery. Although Oedipus is praised and crowned king for
freeing the city, he is not entirely a good man. Oedipus is very arrogant, which causes him to make
several bad decisions. Through the story of Oedipus the King, Sophocles warns readers not to let
arrogance blind them from reality, for it will eventually result in tremendous suffering.
At the beginning of this Greek drama, Oedipus is blind due to his arrogance. For example, when the
city is in shambles and the Chorus marches around the altar praying to the gods, Oedipus walks in and
says to them, You pray to the gods? Let me grant your prayers (245). He believes he can answer the
people of Thebes prayers. Additionally, Oedipus is convinced he has god like powers because of his
role as king and his previous success in solving the Sphinx s riddle. His past leads him to believe he is
always right, which is exactly what happens when he encounters the prophet. Oedipus says, Blind, /
lost in the night, endless night that nursed you! / You can t hurt me or anyone else who sees the light /
you can never touch me (425 28). Oedipus attacks the prophet with insults for saying that he was the
one that killed Laius. Again, Oedipus reveals his exaggerated sense of his own abilities and believes
that it is impossible for him to be wrong. Oedipus considers himself to be one of the fortunate who are
able to see the light (427) and cannot be steered in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, in King
Oedipus case, his high ego leads to his great demise.
As this drama progresses, Oedipus begins connecting the dots and restoring his vision. When Jocasta
explains how her husband died to Oedipus, he says, I have a terrible fear the blind seer can see (823).
Oedipus is now suspecting that the prophecy is true because of the similarities between Laius death
and the man he had killed. He begins to stop worrying about his ego and

What Is The Tipping Point
Adidas, Apple, Google, and Nike are some of the top brands today. When we look at the symbol on a
product, we automatically remember the brand name. Everyone knows what a brand is, but a
brandless brand is not common. A brandless company is a brand without a name. Today, there is a
brandless company called Brandless. On their official website, everything costs three dollars. They
want to sell to consumers, quality products without paying for the name of the company. Brandless
took out the intermediary, who made all your normal products more expensive. In The Tipping Point,

for two reasons: one, we are less likely to make a decision when we are overwhelmed with choices;
two, when we do make a choice we are less happy with the choice because, with all those choices, we
can t be confident we made a good one. Brandless would be found appealing because they say that
their products have great quality and In The Tipping Point, The law of the few is when one person
finds out about a trend and through social connections, energy, and enthusiasm and personality make,
the trend spreads. Three parts are within this law: connectors, mavens, and salesmen (Gladwell).
Gladwell refers to salesmen, as folks with the skills to persuade individuals are unconvinced of what
we are hearing, and they are as critical to the tipping of word of mouth epidemics as the other two

The Christian ministry Answers in Genesis has decided to permanently shower its renowned Noah s

In a Facebook Post, Answers in Genesis founder Ken Ham announced that the 500 foot long Ark

We now have new permanent rainbow lights at the Ark Encounter so all can see that it is God s

A Christmas Memory In Truman Capote s Last Christmas With...
A Christmas Memory is an eloquently written account of Truman Capotes last Christmas with his dear
friend, Sook. The story is set during 1930 s, right after the depression, in a rural Southern part of
Alabama. Capote recalls his last Christmas with Sook, who is a sixty something year old woman who
has childlike tendencies. Sook refers to Capote as, Buddy, throughout the story as that was her
childhood best friend who passed away. Buddy and Sook share a home with other relatives who
throughout the story, berate them with harsh words and are overall unkind. But, the relatives
unknowingly strengthen their bond and aid in forging an unbreakable friendship between the two.
Capote manages to pen a captivating memoir of his last Christmas with Sook using an engaging
writing style with an enthralling use of vivid language.
One of the ways Capote captivates his readers is by way of vivid language to make us feel joyful,
giddy and excited. My dancing shadow rollicks on the walls; our voices rock the chinaware; we
giggle: as if unseen hands were tickling us (23). Notably, Capote uses this quote to invoke a feeling of
a gleeful dance as the shadows perform a velvety dance alongside them. The way this passage is
composed gives the reader a sense of silliness as we imagine the auditory impulsively of loud singing.
His whimsical language is taken a step further with his use of ...unseen hands were tickling us (23), as
it makes the reader visualize being tickled until they are out of

Global Sex Work Is Affecting The Most Personal Parts Of...
Global sex work is about different things to different people. For some women, it is about charting
your own course and improving your life and that of your family. For others, it is about becoming
chattel, another body to be used by whoever has the money to pay for it. For yet others, it is about
marriage and migration, creating a life in a country that they believe is better suited to what they want
out of life. The men involved with these women are also looking for different things. Some are
looking for relationships, some are looking for sex, some are playing out cultural norms. What is
certain is that globalization and related changes in cultures and economies is affecting the most
personal parts of peoples lives around the world. The article Clashing Dreams: Highly Educated
Overseas Brides and Low Wage U.S. Husbands discusses the trend of marriages between highly
educated women living in Vietnam and under employed, low income Vietnamese men living overseas.
Both of these groups are considered to be unmarriageable by traditional Vietnamese standards. The
women are generally older, in their late twenties to early thirties, with college educations and well
paying jobs. They see the pool of marriageable men in Vietnam to be underachieving and disrespectful
of women. They view Viet Kue men, Vietnamese men who live in other countries, as being more
respectful of women and less controlling because they live in more westernized countries. The Viet

The need for energy is a dominant, driving the force of the world. Paralleling population growth,
energy demand cannot be supported by fossil fuels, a limited resource with negative impacts on the

using more renewable energy sources, it is imperative to fully understand each energy source and the

Origin Of Creation Myths
I have learned from the textbook that there are essentially two different ways that people have sought
to understand their origins. The first has to with storytelling in the creation (or origin) myths. These
myths are explanations of how a group of people decided their moral principles that allowed them to
establish a set of rules for their relationships with each other, nature, and the supernatural world. The
explanation of how these relationships worked and came to be further created distinct cultural and
societal structures that each member of that community would follow and share. One of the creation

  • 3. Analysis Of If Black English IsnT A Language Then Tell Me... James Baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, and poet. In the essay If Black English Isn t a language, then tell me what is? James Baldwin asserts an argument as how Language is like the ID of people, it can identify, as well as define people. Due to the characteristics it has, it can be defined as a persuasive essay. It attempts to persuade the readers to be on the writer s side, or accept the point of view of the author. This significant essay was written in the 1970s. It indicates how language is not merely used for communication, but can be used to classify people with different social backgrounds and class. Baldwin used examples like how people in England talk make sense to their own people and not everyone else. He used this example to illustrate his thought of why Black English is not recognized as a real language. In addition, he thought that the white man never meant to teach the Blacks English. That is also the reason why he thinks black children are lost, and can t be taught by people who despise them. The inability of the salves to interact with each other made them create black English. Which was their own means of communication. Baldwin s article has a lot to say about the impact that language has on African American people and his positive approach is supported with strong historical events, and the author s anger behind this writing makes it stronger. However, the assumption about education makes the article weak, because it is not well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Short Note On Energy Drink And India Essay V energy drink was first launched in New Zealand in August 1977, it was first expected that the product would produce and sell domestically (within NZ). It was such a massive hit in NZ, it soon took over 60% of the overall drinks market in NZ in 2003 and over 53% in Australia, making it the most popular drink in both countries. V energy drink is currently being sold in 18 different countries including Spain, Australia, Argentina, and the UK. India is not currently selling V Energy drink. We have chosen to send this product to India because it has grown very popular in a short time, within NZ and Australia, and it has all the ingredients that would suit the Indian taste. The energy drinks market in India is at a nascent stage and it has huge potential for growth. There is more than one reason why I am taking this product to India and I will explain below.  cultural / social environment: Increased urbanisation, rising disposable income and growing health consciousness among the Indian youth has increased the demand for non carbonated drinks called energy drinks. At the same time long and erratic working hours and the increasing occurrence of social gatherings are driving Indian consumers towards consumption of energy drinks which are primarily classified as non alcoholic, caffeinated beverages and sports drinks. India is one of the fastest developing consumer markets, especially for a product targeted towards the young and as well as young adults, mostly belonging to upper ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Health Care Provider and Faith Diversity America is known as a melting pot of cultures, and because of this, health care providers encounter patients and families from a multitude of different backgrounds and religions. Every religion comes with its own set of beliefs, rituals, and worldview. What each culture or religion believes as truth can effect their view of health and wellness. Currently she works as a bookseller in Victoria B.C. She is a Canadian author of short stories that won Prim International s annual fiction prize. Also, she was appeared in the Bridport Prize Anthology Event, and Grain. The book Vanishing and other stories has 14 stories and most of the stories have common elements. They are all about relationships and how they have disintegrated, or disappeared, or become part of the past which will never come back. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Willis tells her short stories in three tenses. The short story Fiancée. Where Penny goes back and forth. In the beginning she s with Andrew her fiancée packing to move to Calgary but the in the next paragraph she s in the future. And it does not stop there, the third paragraph is about recent past. The stories are all over the place but not in missed up way, instead it flows very well. The downside to it, it is how most of the stories end. The endings are horrible because there is no explanation for the readers to understand. In the story Fiancée, Penny is supposed to be back in Montreal to reunites with her fiancée Andrew. The quote state: She will return to Montreal at the end of the month. Her ticket is booked and Andrew expects her. (120). It seems like she will go back to her lover but she does not. Furthermore, Penny argue: I ll probably just keep going west, she says. Get on the train and go all the way to Vancouver. (120). It is kind of confusing how she s changing her mind. The ending of The Fiancee story is not understandable because Willis does not give any information how Penny ended up. On the other hand, the short story This Other Us has an ending which has no clue how the character Lise ends up. Lise is supposed to come home and see her boyfriend Lawrence waiting for her but instead she comes to see Lawrence with his ex girlfriend Keren who is also Lise s best friend. She hopes that Lawrence told Karen everything about him and Lise. Well that did not happened: Lawrence obviously hadn t told her anything, and that s why she put her arms around me. (95). actually there is no information where its shows that Lawrence did or did not told Keren about their relationship. The ending is so bad because the readers are not satisfied how the short story ended. The last line from the story state: Everything s going to be okay, I thought maybe she ... Brad Edwards, a writer for ESPN.com, has this to say about the computer system: Though this may be the weakest part of the (BCS) equation, it can still make a difference. Last year, pollsters eventually overlooked Wisconsin s loss to Cincinnati, but the computers didn t. The result: the Badgers had an average computer ranking of 7.71 despite ranking fourth in both polls. 7.71 is the average of where the team is in the rankings among the top twenty five teams in the nation according to the seven computers. The second part of the Bowl Championship Series formula is the two polls. One comes from the associated press and the other comes from coaches around the league. The Associated Press polls are organized by a number of different newspapers, magazines, and media. While the NCAA football coaches put together the Coaches poll. This is probably the most critical element of the four because it has only two subsets (the media and coaches polls) to be averaged (Edwards). The polls are run similarly to the computers; the two ranking are simply averaged together. The impact held by each poll is greater than that of any one computer or any one opponent. It is no coincidence that the top two poll teams have played for the national title in both years of the

However, one main point that stuck out was Chomsky s view on Public Relations in the media. One might wonder what public relations involves, well it involves advertisements for a company or a group. Chomsky views public relations in a naysay style and aims to grasp the true meanings behind each. Public Relations include the cancer ribbon awareness, support the troops, and those tear jerking commercials about animals and people in need. • 12. The Slingshot Is A Weapon Used By People For Generations Chris Walker Martha Kinsler Chemistry Honors 28 November 2015 Background Research. The slingshot is a weapon used by people for generations. It was originally just a strapped sling used to propel rocks. It usually was used as a lightweight hunting weapon and sometimes for defense (Yoder.) People had used it by rapidly spinning the string and letting it go, sending the rock flying at high speeds. It wasn t until the mid 1800 s that the traditional slingshot we all know of today came into play (Yoder.) It was a y shaped stick with two elastic bands tied between two endpoints at either of the upper ends of the Y. It is a seemingly simple machine, where all you have to do to be able to use it was point, pull, and release. This is what made them ideal for children to play with in the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. However, slingshots are not as simple as people originally thought. Slingshots have a lot of scientific and mathematical concepts that are the reason it was such a useful weapon back in the day and a great form of entertainment today. The history of the slingshot is not what most people expect. As stated earlier, the earliest form of the slingshot is the strapped sling. One of the earliest accounts of a single sling being used was in The Bible s David and Goliath, where David slung a rock at Goliath. • 14. Why I Didn t Treat Women There was a time in my life where I didn t treat women in the way they should have been treated. I use to play games with their feelings and didn t care if they got hurt because I was only looking out for myself. The reason I was like this was because I ve seen my older siblings get their heart broken, so I made up in my mind that I would not have that happen to me. So whenever I would date a young lady I would always have someone I was talking to on the side but I would lie to the person I was with saying that I wasn t seeing no one but them. One instance I was dating this girl who I grew to like very much to the point where I wasn t talking to no one but her. This was the very first time in my life where I had really opened up to a girl and experienced what it was like to be in love. Then one day I was out with my cousin and saw my girlfriend all hugged up on another guy. I was very hurt and humiliated because my cousin was there to witness me get my heart broken. That moment in my life taught me how those other young ladies who really liked me felt when I was treating them in that manner. I would say that I m not the same person that I was a year ago. I m different because I no longer have a young boy s mindset but yet I m growing daily and learning from the mistakes I ve made in the past. • 17. Why A Parent s Help And Guidance Important For A Child s... Whilst I would consider a parent s help and guidance important in a child s linguistic development, this development would be impossible without innately organized circuitry to do the learning (210, Pinker). Therefore, a language cannot simply be taught. The human brain can seemingly process information in some way that is involuntary and requires no real conscious effort; the only type of help or guidance a child requires is exposure to a stimulus. Therefore, I believe that a parent s help and guidance is not imperative, it is just helpful in an infant s linguistic progress. There are different, quite opposing theories as to how children actually acquire language. On the one hand, in discussing the formal, nativist approach, grammar is conceptualized as a set of abstract categories, structures and principles, and constraints that are genetically encoded as an innate Universal Grammar (319, Genetti). On the other hand, the discourse based theory states that grammar is viewed as a set of forms and functions that are constantly being shaped by the mental processes and communicative needs of speakers and hearers as they use language in everyday talk (discourse) (319, Genetti). Although I do consider the latter discourse theory to be important in a child s language development, as a child will to some degree imitate their caregiver, they will only do this when they are mentally ready and capable to do so. Therefore the nativist theory is a very credible concept in child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. The King In Oedipus The King In the popular Greek tragedy Oedipus the King, the plot shows how a single bad trait can lead to the fall of a once great man. The author Sophocles portrays the story of the titular where a hero rises to fame after solving the city of Thebes great riddle. The solution to the riddle frees Thebes of its curse from the Sphinx and relieves the city s misery. Although Oedipus is praised and crowned king for freeing the city, he is not entirely a good man. Oedipus is very arrogant, which causes him to make several bad decisions. Through the story of Oedipus the King, Sophocles warns readers not to let arrogance blind them from reality, for it will eventually result in tremendous suffering. At the beginning of this Greek drama, Oedipus is blind due to his arrogance. For example, when the city is in shambles and the Chorus marches around the altar praying to the gods, Oedipus walks in and says to them, You pray to the gods? Let me grant your prayers (245). He believes he can answer the people of Thebes prayers. Additionally, Oedipus is convinced he has god like powers because of his role as king and his previous success in solving the Sphinx s riddle. His past leads him to believe he is always right, which is exactly what happens when he encounters the prophet. Oedipus says, Blind, / lost in the night, endless night that nursed you! / You can t hurt me or anyone else who sees the light / you can never touch me (425 28). Oedipus attacks the prophet with insults for saying that he was the one that killed Laius. Again, Oedipus reveals his exaggerated sense of his own abilities and believes that it is impossible for him to be wrong. Oedipus considers himself to be one of the fortunate who are able to see the light (427) and cannot be steered in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, in King Oedipus case, his high ego leads to his great demise. As this drama progresses, Oedipus begins connecting the dots and restoring his vision. When Jocasta explains how her husband died to Oedipus, he says, I have a terrible fear the blind seer can see (823). Oedipus is now suspecting that the prophecy is true because of the similarities between Laius death and the man he had killed. He begins to stop worrying about his ego and ... Each summer Austin comes to Georgia and visits with his family and each year he is excited to get back home to scout summer camp. It would be easy for me to say Austin is a great kid. How despite being raised by a single mother with little to zero help from his dad, still turned in to a respectful, dependable, courteous young man. It would be easy for me to tell you that he is athletic, outgoing and friendly but, instead I will like to give a couple examples of how he is trustworthy brave and has remarkable character. After helping he is allowed to hit the trails with the four wheeler and is responsible and trustworthy enough to have his younger cousins ride alongside him or on the four wheeler with him. I trust him to make the right decisions for himself and others. Austin is brave and and helpful. This past summer Austin and his mom came down. We just finished installing a inground pool at the house and invited the family over to enjoy the pool and grill out for Austin and his mom before going back to Wisconsin. We all seen it happening in slow motion there she went into the deep end with the same amount of swimming skills as a boat anchor. Austin and Cambris mom jumped in immediately. It should be noted that his aunt can swim but was panicking which severely compromised her abilities. Austin jumped in with the intent of helping his niece and wound up pulling his cousin and his aunt to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
