Jane Austen, in her book Pride and Prejudice, ignores that fact that, at the time, women
were inferior to the men and makes many of the female character dominate to the male
characters which causes her novel to become of like a feminist novel. Some of the female
characters include Elizabeth, Mrs. Bennet, Lady Catherine, Lydia, Jane, Miss Darcy, Caroline,
and Miss Bingley just to name a few. The male characters on the other hand include Mr. Darcy,
Mr. Bingley. Mr. Bennet, Mr. Wickham, and Mr. Collins. Although there are a couple other male
characters, for example relatives of the Bennets, they show up in the novel for a short period of

Gloomy. That s how I remember my year of kindergarten. It may not have been quite as dim as my
memory shows, but my fear darkened that phase. I am not quite sure how my age affected my

All the other inhabitants were comfortable; I however, swam in unfamiliar water. It was salty and I
was a fresh water fish.
But actually, this circumstance of being thrown into a new country and then being flung into schooling
was a blessing in disguise. Though admitting this then would have been out of the question, while
learning English, I became literate. The saying you don t learn how to swim until you are drowning
applies genuinely to my circumstance. In Brazil, English is a part of the curriculum. I would have
studied it all throughout grade school, but never retained any of it for lack of practice. Here, in the

the things I said were right. April replied, No, but I understand her. Because April and I were about the
same age, and we shared a carefree attitude, she allowed me to practice English. Only a few years

Freudian psychoanalysis theorizes that all human behavior is influenced by early childhood
experiences. Freud argues that human behavior is mostly unconscious and driven by conflicting
desires, feelings, fears, and motives. The goal of psychoanalysis is to resolve intrapsychic conflict by
bringing into conscious awareness the unconscious desires and motives of an individual. Through free

Food Insecurity Is A Fact For Millions Of Americans
Food insecurity is a fact for millions of American every day in our country. Children, adults, and the
elderly of all races, living in poverty or in lower middle class families, are at a higher risk of not
having enough to eat. The United States, in 2012, used roughly 40% or 915 million acres of all US
land as farmland (USDA 2014, 1), yet as a nation we cannot feed all of our people. The American
government subsidizes commodity crops, such as corn, wheat, and soy more than any other type of
crop in the United States, (This does not include the subsidies directly paid to the meat and dairy
industry, which is a whole other paper!). Government subsidies are less common for the production of
fresh fruits and vegetables. Government subsidies encourage farmers to grow commodity crops
instead of growing fruits and vegetables for consumers at competitive prices creating food insecurity.
The cheap production of commodity crops force families in the lower middle class and poverty to
choose a diet of processed food, which are less nutritious than fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole
grains causing many of the health problems that we see in the population today. According to the
USDA website in 2015, 12.7 percent, or 15.8 million of American households were food insecure. A

I don t have a dog, but if I were to get one, I know exactly which dog I would get. By far, the coolest
dog in the world, cooler than the Robert Downey Jr. and yes, even cooler than James Bond is of
course Charlie Brown s beloved pet, Snoopy.
Snoopy, I believe, is the best dog to ever be drawn (motion with hand) into this world because we can

I feel that the people who commit these crimes are just overwhelmingly greedy and cannot control
themselves. If they were able to build up the company, they obviously are intelligent minds and more
than likely already have a significant amount of money. Something needs to be done, especially when

savings just because the people at the top of Enron were greedy. It seems as though the government is

The methods I have found most effective are: active learning, practice and overlearning, and distance
learning. There were several research studies that demonstrated the positive impact active learning can
have upon students. One outcome is increased content knowledge, critical thinking and problem
solving abilities, and positive attitudes towards learning in comparison to traditional lecture based
delivery. However, it also can increase enthusiasm for learning in both students and instructors. Then,

I remember him talking about himself, his wife, and the animals he had. He would insert short stories
and videos that would help us remember the information better. In other course, I took with a different
professor, she would tell us to study the terminology very well before an exam. She would also show
