Our presentation to the Natrona County School Board in Casper Wyoming. We are working with the district to implement a k-12 dual language immersion program.
This is the result of our reflection, of our beliefs about language, the sociolinguistic, sociocultural and socio-political aspects of language and the conceptions we have about the teaching of a language. All this allows us to give a clear perspective of how we want to design our curriculum and also take into account the context and its population.

Strong emphasis on problem-based learning to develop problem solving and analysis skills (For example, instructor posing questions the exercise students’ minds in a practical manner)
The purpose of education is to enhance individual effectiveness in society and give learners’ practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Based on John Dewey's model of learning instructors should:
Become aware of the goal,
Define the objectives,
Propose hypotheses to achieve the goal,
Evaluate the consequences of the hypotheses from one's past experience, and
Test the most likely solution

Language acquisition is simply known as the process of learning a 2nd or foreign
language ("Process of Language Acquisition" p.1).
This pillar is important because the world is becoming more and more diverse and
we need to be able to communicate with one another by using different languages.
The role of language acquisition in the 21st Century is to become familiar with a
foreign language so we can have better understanding of how people using that
language communicate and learn about other cultures.

It is very important to add technology while introducing language acquisition.
Teachers need to get their students attention and have them participate in conversations
because students learn best when they are actively involved.

1. Posters can help by giving foreign words and give their definitions in English. (For example:

are pronounced.

5. Conclusion
Language acquisition is important because the world is becoming
more diverse and we need to be able to learn different languages in
order to communicate with people of different cultures.
Teachers need to help their students learn these languages. Teachers
must use technology so that the students can participate in activities,
learn the language, and apply the language in everyday life.
