This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching various forms of figurative language to high school students over the course of a week. 1. Figurative Language

•Around 20 high school students, evenly divided in gender, multiple learning styles, culturally
diverse
•Already know basic forms of figurative language because people learn that around second
grade.

3. Objective
All students will create their own examples of the figurative language taught with 90% accuracy
by the end of the week after being given examples through lecture, videos clips, and activities.

Day 3: Anastrophe, Onomatopoeia, &
Oxymoron

◦ Create a Comic with no dialogue using all of the
above
Day 4: Satire, Hypophora, & Apostrophe
◦ Students will make skits for Satire-day Night Live
where they must use all of the above.
Day 5: Spoonerisms & Mondegreens
