The Poisonwood Bible Essay
People in some societies have faced situations that changed them in unique ways. The Poisonwood
Bible written by Barbara Kingsolver represents how people are affected by horrific events and
different cultures. This is caused by the missionary father; Nathan having led his family to spread
their own beliefs in the Congo. In return, each Price woman is influenced in unique ways,
according to their own perspectives. Unique ways is included in how transformations were due to
the effects of losing someone or something. Ruth May s death as well as individual experiences in
the Congo, act as the catalysts for change in each of the Price woman, transforming their core selves

Elements Of Civil Disobedience
The term Civil Disobedience was first introduced by Henry David Thoreau in his 1849 essay as
a form of protest to voice opposition to an unjust policy.Throughout the century, acts of civil
disobedience have helped to force reassessment of society s moral parameters. More recently, we
can still read from the daily news on such move happens in virtually democratic countries such as
Hong Kong and the United State. This essay will first discuss about possible traits of Civil
Disobedienceto distinguish it from ordinary illegal acts and afterwards comment on the problems or
grey areas that this distinction has brought forth.
Undoubtedly, both civil disobedience and common illegal acts will contravene the legal system.
However, civil disobedience is generally regarded as more morally defensible than ordinary crime
attributed to 4 defining features defended by John Rawls (1971).The 4 features will be concisely
elaborate before we draw out differences between them.
Among the 4 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As abovementioned, conscientiousness of these disobedients regard their interest is just and that
disobedience is morally permissible. On the other side, common criminals will not have this sense
of justice.
In democratic communities, acts of civil disobedience as such is not a crime .For recognized
offences such as road blocking, trespassing and vandalism as if judges(and juries) are convinced,
sometimes judges may not punish the disobedient or punish him or her differently to those that
breach the same law. However, the aforementioned is just the case for minority groups of
disobedients. If the number of participants surged, say up to thousand, law will be difficult to
enforce and it will be inappropriate response to arrest all partakers. For the act of common illegality,
once sentence guilty, corresponding punishment will be directed with the

Analysis of Mise-En-Scene in the Film American Beauty Essay
How does mise en scene create meaning and provoke response in the opening of American Beauty?
The opening scene of American Beauty shows a teenage girl lying in a bed, venting her feelings
towards her father. In this, the audience sees her in dull clothing and colours, minimal make up
and has greasy looking hair. As she sits up, her hair falls around her face and she stares directly
into the camera, giving a sense of unease to the audience.
The next shot is an establishing shot, showing the street where the main character, Leister, lives.
Its fall/autumn time and the trees are bare or dying, possibly indicating and foreshadowing a death
later on in the movie. Also the streets are very linear, all vertical and in uniform, as it were.... Show

This opening introduces the family s lifestyle and sets the scene for the audience, from the shot
following Leister s shower, the audience gets the sense that the wife is the head of the house as
she gardens in a bright, contemporary looking garden. The camera goes to a close up on the
rose as the woman clips it from the bush. This rose is called American Beauty which is also the
name of the film. She is dressed in a plain grey suit and a clean white apron, again fitting in with
the colour scheme of the interior decor. She also wears pearl earrings and a pearl necklace with her
hair perfectly framing this and has impeccable make up, indicating what the perfect American
housewife should resemble. She also converses with the homosexual neighbours about the secret to
her roses flourishing so well; she seems happy and overly enthusiastic. The audience then see a shot
of Leister, again, enclosed in an environment this time the window. The audience sees him behind
the window panes, in between two bright blue shutters, indicating his isolation and loneliness
within his own home. The colour blue is also an interesting choice by the director. Blue suggests
calm and tranquillity within the home, and also reflects on the colour of the perfect blue sky.
Leister seems to fit in as he reflects on his own life and his past happiness, and also seems unsettled
within himself, contrasting to the

Comparing Neo And Blue Pill In The Film
In the movie Neo is asked to choose between two pills. Neo can choose the red pill, which will
show him how the world really is and the matrix, or he can choose the blue pill and he will go back
to life as it was before he met Morpheous and forget all about the matrix. I think if I had to choose
between the red and blue pills I would choose the blue pill. I would choose the blue pill because
when Neolearns about the matrixand the truth about everything he looses everything he loved
about his old life. I do not think I could live in a place without any of my family or friends, even
if it is all just a fantasy. I mean when you think about it if you really know the truth about the
world/life, what can you do about it to change it? I would rather live in a happy, comfortable, and
maybe predictable life with all of my friends and family, than live in the harsh reality of the matrix
where the agents (or computers) are always trying to find and kill you to keep the secret that our
lives are just fantasies.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think I would become depressed if I chose the red pill because everything you ever knew, all the
good and bad memories, everything, is replaced with knowing it was all fake anyway. As well as
losing all your memories, I did not really see an advantage to knowing about the matrix, or
knowing that everything is just a fantasy. As I kept watching the movie I could see why Cypher
had said to Neo that he always found himself wondering why he didn t take the blue pill and
contemplating what it would have been like if he didn t take the red pill. I think that would also
fill me with regret, always making me think maybe I should have choose the blue pill or thinking
how much easier life was/ or would still be if I chose the blue

The True, Good, and Beautiful
March 17, 2017
As we have learned by defining truth and how it is based on an unwavering and dogmatic stance,
which is faith in God Love, and is absolute. Absolute truth starts with God and ends with God,
truth looks at the Bible for what it is and what it says, and not with independence or interpretation.
Now, what is good and can we define it? In the American society, it is evident that individuals want
to brand good as personally defined and not absolute, however, for something to be truly good , it
has to be good for the whole world, meaning it cannot constantly change between persons.
Therefore, what is good must be defined by something unchanging, for that reason, what ... Show

His goodness is unity, oneness, without division, it looks at truth for definition, it is absolute
love, it places every person higher than themselves, and it does not worry or take thought about
things that are not beneficial for love. Christ is the perfect example for truth and goodness. He is
truly relational to God, he accepted the whole world in love by dying for them to include
murderers, pedophiles, enemies, the oppressed, the racist, the tax collectors, the sexually immoral,
the slave, every nationality, those who continually struggle with sin, etc. Jesus was and is
impartial; he is the definition of truth, which leads to goodness. Goodness as defined by truth is
our guidance for how to live, reason, communicate, and comprehend in a secular world. Without a
firm stance on what is good, based on absolute truth, we (again) would be left to find the answers
for ourselves in a modernist and postmodernist fashion. As without truth, the result leaves one
empty while searching and finding nothing truly good. Therefore, we must focus on truth and what
it tells us to define good, because what is good is the byproduct of absolute

What Is The Mood Of The Poem Read Out Loud
Throughout the whole sonnet, the poet maintains a very mournful tone, which he mainly
emphasizes by experimenting with sound. In the first line, for example, the combination of past
and the repetition of pitch results in an alliteration of the strong plosive /p/ sound. The exact same
phenomenon can be found in line nine with the nasal /m/ sound in mind and mountains . Because
this poem is teeming with alliterations, it clearly should be read out loud. In this way the reader
will also notice that Hopkins uses many mono syllabic words to speed up the rhythm. Line one,
for example, only consists of words of one syllable. Another way in which the poet affects the
rhythm of his poem is the excessive use of punctuation. The octave is made

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dengue
The Problem:
Dengue is a mosquito borne disease typically found in tropical and sub tropical areas but it is
commonly found in other countries all around Asia, with global warming thought to be helping
with the spread of the disease. Singapore provides a perfect environment for breeding and has an
ongoing battle with dengue.
The problem we face now with the population growth of the Aedes mosquitos is that the greater the
population of the mosquito, the higher the risk of dengue fever. The reason dengue is so serious, is
the fact that it can be potentially fatal. Aedes mosquitos breed in clean stagnant water, with a life
cycle of seven days. They are the only mosquitos that carry the viral dengue disease. Expansion of
human population and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some other benefits are that it is a healthy application, which creates a relatively safe environment
free from mosquitos. Although there are benefits, the disadvantages are that it is only applied to
specific areas and cannot completely eradicate the mosquito. According to a study made in 2005 by
the Singapore Medical Association, the usual chemical fogging in natural environment was
ineffective in breaking the reproductive lifecycle by elimination gravid female aedes mosquitos
(Chua, K. B). Although this is only one experiment, breaking the female reproductive cycle is
considered vital in controlling and ultimately eradicating the aedes mosquito. Other disadvantages
to fogging include, the fact that when uncontrolled it can contain diesel and insecticides that can
sometimes be toxic for humans, domestic animals and wildlife. An additional reason as to why
some thermal fogging is bad, is that pesticides exposed in an animals habitat can lead to
Biomagnification. Biomagnification is the increase of a toxic substance, in this case insecticides in
an organisms tissue as it goes up the food chain or water course etc. This affects the health of the
living organism and eventually will corrupt the food chain as all the organisms in the specific food
chain die out. Recent advances include the introduction of genetically modified mosquito s to
eradicate

Process Of Dividing Body Cells And Their Nuclei Essay
Yahya Bello
Homework 1
Mitosis: can be defined as the process of dividing body cells and their nuclei. The body continually
produced new cells by splitting from the ones that has already existed.
Meiosis: can be defined as a particular form of cell splitting that generates reproductive cells, such
as sperm and egg cells, plant and fungal spores.
Steps involves in Mitosis
Mitosis consists of four basic phases and they include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and
telophase.
Figure 1 shows the process that occurs in mitosis
During the early phase of prophase, the cells are able to be divided into some structures and also
build others up, this leads into setting the stage for their division of the chromosomes that is
present. For the chromosomes to be easily pulled apart later on they start o condense during this
early stage. The mitotic spindle then begins to form. This spindle is a structure that is made of
microtubules, strong fibers that are considered to be the part of the cell s skeleton. The purpose of
the spindle is to organize the chromosomes and to have the ability in moving them around during
mitosis. The growth of the spindle occurs between the centrosomes as they move apart (https:/
/www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/cellular molecular biology/mitosis/a/phases of mitosis).
.
Once the early prophase has been completed then late prophase which can also be referred to as
prometaphase takes off. During the late prophase, mitotic spindle starts by

Causes Of The Pueblo Revolt
Pueblo revolt
The Pueblo revolt was the changing point for the relationship between the Spanish and native
population and one of the earliest tragedies to befall the Natives at the time but to explain what
lead to the revolt we must step back into history and look at the events that lead to this.
The Spanish had been expanding their influence in the new world by conquering the empires and
peoples. Soon they would extend northward continuing to claim new land thereby building New
Spain. Starting in 1540 the Spanish moved into what would become New Mexico. With the Spanish
expansion came soldiers, missionaries, and settlers. These movements would lead to a
confrontation between the Pueblo people and the Spaniards known as the Tiguex War. The Tiguex
War was spearheaded by occurred during the winter of 1540 41. Leading the Spaniard troops was
Francisco VГЎsquez de Coronado. The Spanish attacked the 12 tribes of the region leading to a
further breakdown of Native and Spanish relations that would continue until 1598. Juan De Onate
led a force of over 100 soldiers women children and Priests into the Rio Grande Valley attempting
to start a Spanish settlement. The establishment of this new settlement soon leads to another revolt
between the Pueblo and the Spaniards. This rebellion is known as the Tacoma Massacre. Under
the command of Juan De Onate, the Spanish soldiers killed and enslaved hundreds of Natives.
Onate also ordered the right foot to be removed from the 24

Netherlandish Triptych Case Study
My thesis examines in three case studies that taken together demonstrate how the triptych
transformed over the course of the fifteenth century. Chapter 2 discusses the emergence of the
characteristic form of the triptych that begins with Robert Campin. Campin, who lived from 1375
1444, and who is usually identified with the Master of Flemalle. He is also considered to be the
first master of Flemish and early Netherlandish paintingand established the typical form of the
Netherlandish triptych. Campin settled into Tournai in the early 1400s as a free master of the guild
of goldsmiths and painters. Eventually, Campin represented the guild on the city council. Since
there are no documents relating to Campin s apprenticeship or training, three stylistic sources have

Melchior Broederlam, who worked on the Retable of the Passion (fig. 2), Henri Bellechose, who
was known for working with Philip the Bold, and Claus Sluter, a Burgundian sculpture, who
worked on the Charterhouse of Champmol. Broederlam is an important influence because his
retable is one of the earliest forms of a triptych in the Netherlands. Campin utilized some
elements from the Retable of the Passion (fig. 2), but ultimately was the first to create a standard
for triptychs. He was known for realistic figures, depiction of emotions in his paintings and also a
sense of ambiguity. That ambiguity is evident in Campin s Virgin and Child (fig. 3), the nimbi of
the Virgin s intersects with the Christ Child s head and creates a touching moment of intimacy
between mother and child. Their halos also act as a mediator between the foreground and

the solid quality of the halo separates it from the background. The halo seems to exist in both
levels, creating a valency. This sense of ambiguity and multivalence would come to characterize

The Minister s Black Veil
How can a pair of eyes bring death to its owner? How can a black veil bring alienation to its
wearer? These are examples of the power of symbols. The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe and
The Minister s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne both use symbols to convey the dark human
nature, which is a Gothic motif. Also, the symbols are representative of Gothic tradition because
they relate to elements like dark settings, supernatural events, a gloomy mood, and unexplainable
mysteries (Harris). Through the utilization of symbolism along with Gothic elements, both The Tell
Tale Heartand The Minister s Black Veil explore people s dark side and their reactions toward fear;
thus revealing the underlying themes. To begin with, the eye in... Show more content on

The Chemical Equation For Photosynthesis
Abstract The undersides of three pieces of spinach leaves were painted with clear nail polish.
Clear tape was placed onto the area and carefully removed to get the leaf impression. The
impression was viewed under the microscope and the amount of stomata was recorded in the data
table.
Introduction
Photosynthesis is the conversion of unusable light energy to usable chemical energy inside
chlorophyll. This energy is stored in sugar. The chemical equation for photosynthesis is 6CO2 +
6H2O C6H12O6 + 6O2. Photosynthesis supports almost every organism in some way. The sugar
that chemical energy is stored in can be transformed into ATP, the fuel that powers the majority of
living things, through cellular respiration. (Farabee, 2007) Leaves have a waxy waterproof outer
coating called the epidermis and a very thin layer called the cuticle. This layer contains guard cells,
which expand and contract through photosynthesis. This action allows the stomata, or pores, to
open and close. The stomata controls transpiration and the passage of oxygen and carbon dioxide
through the leaf. Interior leaf tissue is called mesophyll, and this is where chloroplasts can be
found. They are found mainly in the columnar cells near the surface called palisade parenchyma,
and the irregular cells beneath called spongy mesophyll parenchyma. Water is transferred to the
leaves through veins and a tissue called xylem. ( Leaf Structure and Function, 2011) The
chloroplasts of a leaf are the main

Informative Essay On Saturday Night Live
Saturday Night Live celebrated its 40th anniversary in style last season. Sure, the three and a

Effective Leadership Of Higher Education
Effective Leadership in Higher Education
Brent Larsen
Northern Michigan University
Literature Review
Within the collegiate setting there are a variety of interactions among professionals and students.
These professionals are often in leadership positions within higher education. Posner (2004)
explains, Leadership development is now an integral part of the education program of college
students, with courses and activities scattered throughout the co curricular experience (p. 443).
Effective leadership at the university level is imperative to higher education with its recent
characterization of being amidst an identity crisis (Smith and Hughey, p. 161). In the following
sections I will outline the five fundamental leadership ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These practices would become more commonly known as the Five Practices of Exemplary
Leadership, which include: Modeling the Way, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Challenging the Process,
Enabling Others to Act and Encouraging the Heart (Posner, 2004).
Model the Way. The first fundamental leadership practice, Model the Way, means that successful
leaders must project an appropriate example for their followers (Posner, 2006). In order for
members of an organization to understand the values and behavior that is expected, it must first
be set by example. Posner (2006) further explains, the values of the leader must be consistent with
those of their followers . The values set by the leader, or the one who fosters change (Astin and
Astin, 2000) should serve as a moral compass that guides their daily lives.
Inspire a Shared Vision. The second fundamental leadership practice, Inspire a Shared Vision,
represents the importance of having a collective commitment to the future of the organization
(Kouzes and Posner, 2002). Allowing the organization to share a vision for the organization will
ensure that the organization is collectively being lead in the intended direction. When a leader is
able to accomplish this task and connect its followers around a common mission, their leadership
will prove to be effective.
Challenge the Process. The third fundamental leadership practice it to Challenge the Process, which
implies that successful leaders are willing to take calculated risks ,

Cloughbane Farm Shop Is Run By Lorna Robinson
Cloughbane Farm Shop
Introduction
Cloughbane Farm Shop is run by Lorna Robinson, Sam Robinson and Robert Richard Robinson,
Sam and Lorna s sons. The Robinsons have been farming at Cloughbane for around 150 years and
is now in its fourth generation. Up until 2002, it was, pure and simple, a farm, selling our beef, lamb
and free range eggs to wholesalers.
However in 2002 they were invited to be a founding member of the farm market set up in
Dungannon. At the market they sold their lamb and beef which they reared at the farm. They
would leave their lamb mature for 10 14 days on the bone and this was because they believed
this gives it a better taste. Their beef is left to mature for 28 days and this is to make it tender and
also to gives it a better taste.
Thanks to the setup of the Dungannon farm market they decided to start their own business selling
their goods at their own farm in a shop. They converted and old pig house in a shop which features
12 foot butchery serve over counter, three other chill cabinets for their own and other locally
sourced products. They also stocked fruit and vegetables plus some ambient lines.
This year Cloughbane farm shop was nominated for 2 awards at the Grow Make Eat Drink 2016
Awards. One of the awards they were nominated for was Best Small Food / Drink Producer and the
other award was Best Food / Drink Marketing Campaign.
Cloughbane have recently signs a contract with Tesco for their ready meals worth ВЈ450,000. This

Review of Sequences in CPM Common Core Integrated 1 and MacDougal Littel Algebra 2
The introduction and understanding of sequences, arithmetic and geometric in 8th grade was
reviewed for content and standards in CPM CC Integrated 1 and MacDougall Littel Algebra 2.
Sequences are defined as an ordered list of numbers that are in a specific pattern. Arithmetic
Sequences are an ordered list of numbers where the difference between successive numbers is a
constant value. Geometric sequences are an ordered list of numbers where the successive numbers
differ by a common ratio.

Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. In each section 5.2.1 5.2.3 the students
are required to make sense as a group and persevere in solving the problems. Example of the
practice is seen in 5.2.1 5 42, 5.2.2 5 59, and 5.2.3 5 74. Each problem in this text is recommended
that the students work in groups and there are no formulas, or rules given until the students have
reasoned out the problem and solved as a group. By having the student reason and understand, then
persevere, the student gains an understanding of the concept in sequences rather that the rule. Given
that many of the lesson plans are built around the students making sense of conceptual problems

Blue Clue Essay
Blue s Clues specifically set out to fix these problems. Cognitive development was vital, but they
wanted to do it in a way that didn t sacrifice fun or comprehension. First, they addressed the issue
of comprehension. As long as things happened logically, as long as kids could make a connection,
it didn t matter the length of the segments. At the time a dominant theory in developmental theory,
Piaget s work meant that easily distractible children couldn t handle large jumbles of video or
longer segments. Sesame Street supported the first part of this, by showing children couldn t
understand things out of order. But Blue s Clues challenged the second part, and in doing so
changed the idea of the length of child s attention span (Jaffe). This... Show more content on

Examining this show says something about its audience, and the culture their audience was part
of. Obviously, one show s audience can t represent an entire culture. As Blue s Clues was part of
a channel that had to be paid separately for, as opposed to Sesame Street which was on basic
cable, it couldn t reach all audiences. Perhaps it can t speak for those in lower economic classes,
or those who don t support the use of television for their children. But it can say a lot for the
direction the education of children was going. Blue s Clues showed that things were changing.
America was taking the education of their children seriously, looking for new and inventive ways
for them to grow and develop within their own homes. It also showed that television no longer
ended when the show was turned off. While Sesame Street showed that commercial tie ins could
be a success with its massively popular Tickle Me Elmo in 1996 (Jaffe), Blue s Clues recognized
that their positive impact on learning and development wasn t just limited to a thirty minute period.
Examples of that include educational computer games, or clothing with specially designed buttons
to encourage dressing independence ( Me and You ). In the broadest sense, Blue s Clues understood
that a child s development was a dynamic and difficult process. They understood that early

Online Consumer Behaviors And Social Networking
ABSTRACT
With businesses seeking to seize the momentum of social media and social networking, technology
enabled social commerce has emerged to combine the power of online social networking with
shopping. This study examines an emerging area in E commerce, i.e., social commerce. Extending
the online consumer behavior typology, this study categorizes online consumer behaviors into three
types: transactional, informational, and social. While traditional E commerce supports the
transactional and informational aspects of online shopping, social commerce fulfils the social
aspects of shopping, and potentially enhances the informational aspect as well. This research
examines the online shopper as a prospective user of an emerging social commerce platform, the
social shopping website, which are sites designed specifically to support social interactions while
online consumers shop. The study augments the Technology Acceptance Model with constructs that
enhance the specificity of the model to the social shopping application of social commerce. The
model was empirically tested and supported. The results provide empirical evidence to support the
importance of distinguishing the social aspect of shopping from the information and transactional
aspects, as well as the potential advantage to using technology to promote social interactions on E
commerce sites. Implications and future research are discussed. Keywords: E commerce, internet,
shopping, social networking

Frank Stella Early Childhood
Frank Stella is an American painter/printmaker born on May 12, 1936 in Malden,
Massachusetts. His parents were first generation Italian American parents. Stella s schooling
took place at Phillips Academy in Andover from 1950 1954. While there, he studied painting
with the abstractionist Patrick Morgan. Later, Stella attended Princeton University where he
earned a degree in history; Princeton did not offer a degree in studio art. During his time there,
he did take art courses but most of his learning was from self teaching. His professors, painter
Stephen Greene and art historian William Seitz, introduced Stella to the New York art world.
These professors helped to shape Stella s earliest artistic aesthetic. After graduating Princeton,
Stella set up permanent residence in New York. His first important group showing received
almost immediate fame with his Black Paintings. They were a series of linear shapes and squares

Abstract The ultimate goal of Fiber Wireless (FI WI) networks is to convergence of various optical
and wireless technologies under a single infrastructure in order to take advantage of their
complementary features and therefore providing a network capable of supporting bandwidth
hungry emerging applications for both fixed and mobile clients. The Fi Wi architecture is based on

This means that traffic generated from users communicating only in the wireless network does not
have to be propagated towards the optical network as happens with RoF technology. Thus,
distributed MAC protocols, e.g. IEEE 802.11b, avoid the fiber s extra propagation delays that
degrade their performance. This feature removes a possible limitation regarding the length of the
deployed fiber while it adds a degree of resiliency to the system since local wireless traffic can be
served even when connectivity with the optical segment is lost.

OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORKS A growing number of providers worldwide are adopting optical
technologies in the access network and towards the client s premises (Fiber to the Home or FTTH)
due to optical fiber s ability to provide huge amounts of bandwidth in longer distances than
copper, immunity to electromagnetic interference and inherent security. Fiber generally should
be installed underground for safety reasons and therefore its deployment is an expensive
procedure. This is mitigated by deploying a tree like network topology where a part of it is being
shared by many clients. Each client is connected via a dedicated fiber to a Remote Node (RN)
which in turn is connected via a single fiber to a CO. In general two technologies can be used for
this implementation

the double picture duck or bunny. I found the most suitable place to do these experiments at the

Imagery In Tasteless By David Sedaris
Imagery and details, diction, and humor are three of David Sedaris most important tools in his
writing. When reading a piece of his, those three things are what jumps out at you right away.
His use of detailed descriptions create vivid images in the readers mind. This helps to tell his
story in a clever and humorous way. In his article, Tasteless , he creates images relating to food
and his inability to taste or appreciate differences between foods. One of his first great uses of
imagery and detail comes when he compares himself to a convict and the way he eats. He first
compares himself to a shoveler and then goes on to say, It s how a prisoner might eat, one arm

William GoldingВґs Lord of the Flies and How Jack Changes...
Lord of the Flies was written by William Golding in 1954. Golding s experience in the war had
an effect on him and changed his views on humanity. His book was written to demonstrate just
how naive the book The Coral Island was. Golding conveys how mankind deteriorates when one
has no rules, order or morals. He shows no matter how young or what nationality one is, humans
have an internal battle of right and wrong and that without virtues and principles all can go
down the path of savagery even innocent children. The third person narrative that Golding uses
lets the reader observe how the story develops. Jack is initially a responsible head strong boy
who follows the rules that society had given him. Our first impression of the choir is that of an
army. They were marching approximately in step. The use of word marching suggests a
uniform military movement. Therefore the first sighting of the choir leaves a lasting
impression of anonymity on the reader. This is conveyed when they are described as a creature
. Ralph s group cannot see the choir so they are unknown and mysterious. Furthermore Jack is
presented as an arrogant yet an authoritative character. In the sentence I ought to be chief because
I m chapter chorister and head boy, Golding emphasises Jack s arrogance and ignorance as Jack
believes that he is suitable for the role of chief due to his role in school which has no relevance. In
addition, Jack is also spiteful and cruel towards Piggy. This is conveyed

was this success that earned him and other fellow artists the title of the Impressionists. Monet
began to earn great amounts of money and was able to move out to his dream home in Giverny.
Monet s fortunes began to change for the better as his dealer Paul Durand Ruel had increasing

Emerging Challenges in Airport Management
Project Assignment Air Transport Management (ATM 1) (Submitted by: Mohd. Khalid Khan)
Title: Emerging Challenges in Airport Management Way Forward Introduction: The last few years
has seen an exponential growth in the aviation industry. Aviation infrastructure has expanded to
include hundreds of airports and airlines around the world. New airports have mushroomed in
places which were hardly known to the world, existing airports have upgraded their facilities, new
terminals have come up and multiple airlines have been setup. The volume of people who choose
aviation as a transport has considerably grown. The aviation industry is in full bloom and so are
the problems... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Major expansion of one part may necessitate expansion of another. For example, adding new
runways and increasing the number of airside operations will result in the need for new gates
and more terminal waiting areas for passengers. Another problem often encountered in
expansion is the lack of suitable land. Many airports are closely surrounded by urbanized areas,
land that would be extremely expensive to acquire. In many metropolitan areas, a suitable tract
of land might be distant from the city center, making ground access a problem. In selecting a
distant site, several questions arise. If a new airport is a supplement to, rather than a substitute
for, the existing airport, would passengers be willing to travel that far to use it? Would air
carriers be willing to serve an airport that might attract fewer passengers than the old airport?
These questions above need to be answered in order for funds to come easily and satisfaction of
both the government and the public. This has become a major issue in today`s world of fast moving
aviation. The following points help keep a check on airport development and initiate proper release
of funds for the same. a) Drafting a sound financing strategy with realistic projects. b) Encouraging
private investments and review public financing options. c) Understanding the new airport
management concepts. d) Introducing the brand awareness concept in

Compare And Contrast Federalists And Democratic Republicans
Federalists versus Democratic Republicans
A political party is defined as an organized group of people with roughly similar political views,
that seeks to influence the public by getting its candidates elected to public office. During George
Washington s first term, there were no publicly accepted political parties. During Washington s
second term, two parties emerged. The Federalists and Democratic Republicans are similar by
being the first political parties to emerge and are different through their stances on government
power, the economy, and foreign affairs, which all affected their group of supporters.
The Federalists and Democratic Republicans are similar by being the first political parties to

terms in office. Prior to this, towards the end of his last term, he wrote his farewell address which
contained his advice to whatever comes after him. He warns the people that the emergence of
political parties fighting to control the nation would cause divisive factions. While different groups
existed while George Washington was president, he was the glue that kept the people together. But
once he stepped down from office, two main political parties emerged and began competing for

usually marry a man three years older then herself. So when people see a couple like Jay and

A Sieve By Kamala Markandaya
Imperialism is when a nation dominates the politics, economy, and society of a weaker, foreign
nation. The motives behind this are for economic benefits, spreading of a religion, nationalism,
and racism. While this benefits the imperialists, it can do damage to the imperialized country. For
example, it can change the social structure, education system, ideology, distribution of wealth or
economy in favor of the dominating nation. This is the case when the British exploited India for
their resources, calling India the Jewel of the Crown for producing a huge profit India s .state
during British rule can be seen in the novel Nectar in a Sieve by Kamala Markandaya, which
follows the lifetime of an Indian woman named Rukmani who had faced many changes and painful
experiences due British imperialization. Throughout the course of her life, Rukmani can be seen
interacting with a white man named Kenny, who was a doctor that once treated her so she may
bear a boy. Kenny is a complicated character, helping the Indian people yet viewing them as inferior
and treats them coldly. Rukmani and Kenny s relationship with each other is a microcosm of the
social, economic, and political dynamics between Britain and India around the mid twentieth
century. In the relationship between Rukmani and Kenny, Kenny establishes dominance over
Rukmani, looking down on her and viewing her as a fool for suffering in silence. This relationship
reflects the social dynamics

Tramadol: The potent and most effective painkiller medicine
Tramadol, Ultram, Tramadol for sale at armodafinilstore.com, Pain Killer
Introduction
Tramadol is derived synthetically from codeine which is a phenanthrene alkaloid of opium. An
important fact to note is that it is not a narcotic. It is expensive but works extremely well in
relieving painful conditions. It was launched more than two decades back and it still continues to
be a drug of choice to relieve pain. It comes as capsules, tablets, suppositories and liquids for oral
administration. Ultram and Tramazac are the most commonly used brand names for this pain
medication. Chemically, it is cyclohexanol. Recently in 2013, studies were even made to use
Tramadol in the distressing condition of premature ejaculation.
Action Mechanism
Tramadol works at the mu receptors reversibly which is the same site that accepts opioid
medicines. These receptors are located in the higher centers of the brain as well as spinal cord. A
part of its analgesic action is also because it inhibits noradrenaline and serotonin uptake.
Noradrenaline and serotonin are classical neurotransmitters. The former is also a local hormone as
it acts at the site of its synthesis. It is rapidly absorbed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Fibroids are very common in females and layman terminology it refers to small cysts in the

how complicated and painful the surgery would have been. The doctor gave the same medicine
to my daughter even when she faced her labor pain. She had a painless delivery just because of
this pain killer. Tramadol is easily available for sale at armodafinilstore.com. You can even buy it

Southwest Financial Analysis
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES Southwest Airlines is the nation s low fare, high customer satisfaction
airline. Southwest was incorporated in Texas in 1967 and commenced Customer Service on June
18, 1971, with 3 Boeing 737 aircraft serving 3 Texas cities В– Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.
At year end 2004, Southwest operated 417 Boeing 737 aircraft and provided service to 60 airports
in 59 cities in 31 states throughout the United States. Southwest Airlinestopped the monthly
domestic passenger traffic rankings published by DOT for the first time in May 2003
(www.southwest.com). Based on the monthly data for October 2004 provided in their company

Although, there is such a big leap between 2002 and 2003, due to the effects of the September 11
attacks, the airlines tried to recover enough to bring the number back down. The managers at
Southwest Airlines are maximizing the use of the shareholder s funds. On the other hand, Jet Blue
is doing very poorly in utilizing their shareholder s funds. But in fairness, they were able to bring
their percentage down in 2004. In order for Jet Blue Management to recover and compete against
the industry, they have to initiate a serious overhaul of the strategic management of managing funds.
Jet Blue managers have not managed the company s assets efficiently and effectively. Because
of the September 11 terrorists attack, Jet Blue s Return on Assets (ROA) has drastically dropped
from 2003 to 2004. It is very far from showing profitability and best use of its assets. Southwest
Airlines also experienced a drop from 2001 to 2002 but has sufficiently recovered and is on an
upward trend. Their increase from 2002 to 2003 was at 35%. It is showing profit and increasing its
ROA. Jet Blue s performance shows that the company is currently improving and may be stronger
in its future performance. Southwest Airlines shows that their current performance and future
performance expectations are good.
The gross margin of Southwest Airlines has remained steady in the three year period presented
above. Southwest Airlines has a relatively high gross margin rate, primarily

Thomas Aquinas Beliefs
Thomas Aquinas believed that God is wisdom and truth. He also believed that the ultimate end of
the whole universe is Truth and this is also the aim of the wise. This truth is incarnated in the
person of Jesus Christ. He believed that someone who seeks wisdom aims at the truth. He pointed
out that the teacher must be the role model for his or her pupils. The students will learn by
spending time with the teacher. It is not basically learning by listening. A learner must see how the
teacher is living out what he or she teaches. It is necessary that the teacher has good personality
and character that can be a model to his or her students. The teacher serves as an exemplar to the
students to follow. This follows the moral values of the teachers.... Show more content on

He or she has the authority to teach the subject matter. This is important because it will show that
the teacher is knowledgeable to his or her subject thus his or her students will begin to have faith
that what he or she will impart is trustworthy and is the truth. He also believed that faith also
applies for the scientific understanding not only in religion. For him, we could not live in this
world without faith. Trust and faith in teaching and learning is the most important part of the
students and teacher relationship. Learning is not facilitated if there is distant relationship with the
teacher and his or her students. This will not promote the trust of the students to the teacher. The
students need the right motivation for learning especially the right state which includes the
encouragement coming from the teacher. Aquinas also believed that the students must play his or
her role for learning. The learner must actively play an important role in the learning process. He
believed in progressive education and very interested on how one person is able to transmit his or
her knowledge to another. Aquinas stated the two process of learning and these are by discovery

The Shift Of Interest From Outputs Generated By Smart...
The shift of interest from outputs generated by smart computers to the actual processes that made
the fascinating results possible, in many ways also marked the beginning of a serious passion and
engagement with technology as a discipline and a field of learning. The exciting and appealing
graphics of the best virtual reality games became less significant than the design, the techniques, the
algorithms and the concepts that enabled those compelling features. As an undergraduate student of
Information Science and Engineering, a barrage of questions from me were a given at the end of
lessons. In the Data Structures Lab, I was the most interactive student with queries on storage,
retrieval, modification, and each of these discussions equipped me with deeper and stronger
understanding of best ways of manipulating and accessing large volumes of data. I began to work
on challenging assignments on my own, looking in detail at techniques, experimenting with these,
identifying patterns and trends. Conceptualizing data, and analyzing it to glean meaningful
information became a major passion and observing my self directed efforts, the professors gave me
herculean tasks that were well above my knowledge levels. I welcomed these challenges and
impressed the teachers with my skills, strong analytical and reasoning abilities and knowledge of
programming. Further, my technical paper on Green Cloud Computing that was presented at a state

Patellar Lab Report Essay
Introduction There are two groups of reflexes in the human body, with two ways to categorize each
of them. Reflexes can either be inborn and connected through the nervous system, or they can be
learned through practice. Another way to explain a reflexive category would be autonomic reflexes
or somatic reflexes. Autonomic reflexes are those which are unaware to us and act on visceral
organs of the body, whereas somatic reflexes involve skeletal muscle stimulation. Both types of
reflexes are put into effect via the nervous system. (1)
The Patellar reflex, or Knee Jerk reflex, is used to test the nervous tissue in the spinal cord from L2

At the same time the subject s patellar tendon was sharply tapped.
The final element that was tested against the baseline reflex was the influence of fatigue on the
strength of the reflex response. This was achieved by having the subject run up and down three
levels of stairs three times in the Frost building stairwell of Holyoke Community College. The
subject immediately came back to the original sitting position on the edge of the lab bench with
legs dangling freely, and the patellar tendon was tapped once more.
One subject was used, and was seated in the same position for each of the three tests performed.
Because the patellar reflex is immediate, a video was taken during each tap with the hammer to
visually compare the strength differences for each influence that was put into effect. This provided
a steady, unwavering result with the option of repeated viewing for the conclusion of the
experiment. After all three stages of the experiment were completed, the videos were reviewed for
comparison between the baseline reflex and the three changing factors, along with any
discrepancies and problematic areas that may have altered the results. The strength of the reflex
was recorded as either equal to, more vigorous than, or less vigorous than the baseline reflex and
the results were put into a simple chart.

The King Of The Israelites
he conquest of the Israelites spread like a lightning bolt. All the countries that lived within the
boundaries of the Promised Land were in utter fear for their lives. Kings who had strong fortified
cities within massive stone walls trembled as the stories flooded in telling them how easily Israel
fought and defeated everyone in their path.
Kings everywhere came together in a united effort to stop God s people from entering into their
country. Instead their defiance of God s will was met with utter devastation. No one could stand up
to the power behind the Israelite army.
Israel held tightly to the Laws of Moses doing everything commanded. Because of each man s
faithfulness a supernatural ability took over each fighting soldier giving them the ability to stand
and defeat a thousand men.
Leviticus 26:7 8, You will be victorious over your enemies; five of you will be able to defeat a
hundred, and a hundred will be able to defeat ten thousand.
Every promise in the Law was fulfilled because the Israelites made a conscious effort to remember
the Laws and apply them to their lives. Their faithfulness to God s words empowered the Spiritual
forces of the unseen heavenly kingdom and the Spirits of God ran to protect every soldier from
harm while enabling them to defeat every person who tried to come up against them.
Hebrews 1: 14, What are the angels, then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to
help those who are to receive salvation.

Dq 3 Pressure Ulcers
DQ 3 Health outcome
I have been working as an NP for two years with home bound adults and geriatric patients, and it is
very common to provide treatment for pressure ulcer/skin breakdown/ bedsore. Many of these
patients develop the skin break down after just a short hospital stay, while others develop it in the
home environment. Among the common factors that contribute to pressure ulcers are debility,
immobility and poor nutritional intake. Pressure ulcers have been a significant health problem,
especially among the geriatric population (Jaul, E. (2010).
The presence of a pressure ulcer constitutes a geriatric dilemma, the cause of which is multifactorial.
Some of the problems leading up to this condition are immobility, nutritional deficiency ... Show

Pain and temperature change often precede skin color changes. This injury results from intense and
/or prolonged pressure and shear forces at the bone muscle interface. The wound may evolve
rapidly to reveal the actual extent of tissue injury, or may resolve without tissue loss (Wolters
Kluwer Health, 2017).
Level of measurement for the result is ordinal where stage 0 1 means no skin breakdown.

Dragonfly Population
It is important to consider what certain species contributes to an ecosystem before assigning a
monetary value to it. Everything from insects to large animals holds immense value in their
own unique ways. It might be easier to put monetary value on animals such as grizzly bears or
bald eagles because people will not only pay for their protection, but they also go to national
parks to view them (which brings in billions of dollars each year.) Insects that pollinate are also
easily seen as valuable because they help crops grow and crops are crucial to many economies. A
dragonfly population may be more difficult to assign monetary value to. They have a myriad of
uses. Though they do not pollinate, they help ecosystems by eating mosquitoes

Elements Of Civil Disobedience The term Civil Disobedience was first introduced by Henry David Thoreau in his 1849 essay as a form of protest to voice opposition to an unjust policy.Throughout the century, acts of civil disobedience have helped to force reassessment of society s moral parameters. More recently, we can still read from the daily news on such move happens in virtually democratic countries such as Hong Kong and the United State. This essay will first discuss about possible traits of Civil Disobedienceto distinguish it from ordinary illegal acts and afterwards comment on the problems or grey areas that this distinction has brought forth. Undoubtedly, both civil disobedience and common illegal acts will contravene the legal system. However, civil disobedience is generally regarded as more morally defensible than ordinary crime attributed to 4 defining features defended by John Rawls (1971).The 4 features will be concisely elaborate before we draw out differences between them. • 6. Analysis of Mise-En-Scene in the Film American Beauty Essay How does mise en scene create meaning and provoke response in the opening of American Beauty? The opening scene of American Beauty shows a teenage girl lying in a bed, venting her feelings towards her father. In this, the audience sees her in dull clothing and colours, minimal make up and has greasy looking hair. As she sits up, her hair falls around her face and she stares directly into the camera, giving a sense of unease to the audience. The next shot is an establishing shot, showing the street where the main character, Leister, lives. Its fall/autumn time and the trees are bare or dying, possibly indicating and foreshadowing a death later on in the movie. She is dressed in a plain grey suit and a clean white apron, again fitting in with the colour scheme of the interior decor. She also wears pearl earrings and a pearl necklace with her hair perfectly framing this and has impeccable make up, indicating what the perfect American housewife should resemble. She also converses with the homosexual neighbours about the secret to her roses flourishing so well; she seems happy and overly enthusiastic. The audience then see a shot of Leister, again, enclosed in an environment this time the window. The audience sees him behind the window panes, in between two bright blue shutters, indicating his isolation and loneliness within his own home. The colour blue is also an interesting choice by the director. Blue suggests calm and tranquillity within the home, and also reflects on the colour of the perfect blue sky. • 11. Definition Essay On Good Analysis Good Jesse Roux The True, Good, and Beautiful March 17, 2017 As we have learned by defining truth and how it is based on an unwavering and dogmatic stance, which is faith in God Love, and is absolute. Absolute truth starts with God and ends with God, truth looks at the Bible for what it is and what it says, and not with independence or interpretation. Now, what is good and can we define it? In the American society, it is evident that individuals want to brand good as personally defined and not absolute, however, for something to be truly good , it has to be good for the whole world, meaning it cannot constantly change between persons. Therefore, what is good must be defined by something unchanging, for that reason, what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His goodness is unity, oneness, without division, it looks at truth for definition, it is absolute love, it places every person higher than themselves, and it does not worry or take thought about things that are not beneficial for love. He is truly relational to God, he accepted the whole world in love by dying for them to include murderers, pedophiles, enemies, the oppressed, the racist, the tax collectors, the sexually immoral, the slave, every nationality, those who continually struggle with sin, etc. Jesus was and is impartial; he is the definition of truth, which leads to goodness. Goodness as defined by truth is our guidance for how to live, reason, communicate, and comprehend in a secular world. Without a firm stance on what is good, based on absolute truth, we (again) would be left to find the answers for ourselves in a modernist and postmodernist fashion. As without truth, the result leaves one empty while searching and finding nothing truly good. • 12. What Is The Mood Of The Poem Read Out Loud Throughout the whole sonnet, the poet maintains a very mournful tone, which he mainly emphasizes by experimenting with sound. In the first line, for example, the combination of past and the repetition of pitch results in an alliteration of the strong plosive /p/ sound. The exact same phenomenon can be found in line nine with the nasal /m/ sound in mind and mountains . Because this poem is teeming with alliterations, it clearly should be read out loud. In this way the reader will also notice that Hopkins uses many mono syllabic words to speed up the rhythm. Line one, for example, only consists of words of one syllable. Another way in which the poet affects the rhythm of his poem is the excessive use of punctuation. The octave is made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Other disadvantages to fogging include, the fact that when uncontrolled it can contain diesel and insecticides that can sometimes be toxic for humans, domestic animals and wildlife. An additional reason as to why some thermal fogging is bad, is that pesticides exposed in an animals habitat can lead to Biomagnification. Biomagnification is the increase of a toxic substance, in this case insecticides in an organisms tissue as it goes up the food chain or water course etc. This affects the health of the living organism and eventually will corrupt the food chain as all the organisms in the specific food chain die out. The body continually produced new cells by splitting from the ones that has already existed. Meiosis: can be defined as a particular form of cell splitting that generates reproductive cells, such as sperm and egg cells, plant and fungal spores. Steps involves in Mitosis Mitosis consists of four basic phases and they include prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Figure 1 shows the process that occurs in mitosis During the early phase of prophase, the cells are able to be divided into some structures and also build others up, this leads into setting the stage for their division of the chromosomes that is present. For the chromosomes to be easily pulled apart later on they start o condense during this early stage. The mitotic spindle then begins to form. This spindle is a structure that is made of microtubules, strong fibers that are considered to be the part of the cell s skeleton. The purpose of the spindle is to organize the chromosomes and to have the ability in moving them around during mitosis. The growth of the spindle occurs between the centrosomes as they move apart (https:/ /www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/cellular molecular biology/mitosis/a/phases of mitosis). . Clear tape was placed onto the area and carefully removed to get the leaf impression. The impression was viewed under the microscope and the amount of stomata was recorded in the data table. Introduction Photosynthesis is the conversion of unusable light energy to usable chemical energy inside chlorophyll. This energy is stored in sugar. The chemical equation for photosynthesis is 6CO2 + 6H2O C6H12O6 + 6O2. Photosynthesis supports almost every organism in some way. The sugar that chemical energy is stored in can be transformed into ATP, the fuel that powers the majority of living things, through cellular respiration. (Farabee, 2007) Leaves have a waxy waterproof outer coating called the epidermis and a very thin layer called the cuticle. This layer contains guard cells, which expand and contract through photosynthesis. This action allows the stomata, or pores, to open and close. The stomata controls transpiration and the passage of oxygen and carbon dioxide through the leaf. Interior leaf tissue is called mesophyll, and this is where chloroplasts can be found. They are found mainly in the columnar cells near the surface called palisade parenchyma, and the irregular cells beneath called spongy mesophyll parenchyma. Water is transferred to the leaves through veins and a tissue called xylem. ( Leaf Structure and Function, 2011) The chloroplasts of a leaf are the main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But it can say a lot for the direction the education of children was going. Blue s Clues showed that things were changing. America was taking the education of their children seriously, looking for new and inventive ways for them to grow and develop within their own homes. It also showed that television no longer ended when the show was turned off. While Sesame Street showed that commercial tie ins could be a success with its massively popular Tickle Me Elmo in 1996 (Jaffe), Blue s Clues recognized that their positive impact on learning and development wasn t just limited to a thirty minute period. Examples of that include educational computer games, or clothing with specially designed buttons to encourage dressing independence ( Me and You ). In the broadest sense, Blue s Clues understood that a child s development was a dynamic and difficult process. They understood that early advantages could help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Online Consumer Behaviors And Social Networking ABSTRACT With businesses seeking to seize the momentum of social media and social networking, technology enabled social commerce has emerged to combine the power of online social networking with shopping. This study examines an emerging area in E commerce, i.e., social commerce. Extending the online consumer behavior typology, this study categorizes online consumer behaviors into three types: transactional, informational, and social. While traditional E commerce supports the transactional and informational aspects of online shopping, social commerce fulfils the social aspects of shopping, and potentially enhances the informational aspect as well. This research examines the online shopper as a prospective user of an emerging social commerce platform, the social shopping website, which are sites designed specifically to support social interactions while online consumers shop. The study augments the Technology Acceptance Model with constructs that enhance the specificity of the model to the social shopping application of social commerce. The model was empirically tested and supported. The results provide empirical evidence to support the importance of distinguishing the social aspect of shopping from the information and transactional aspects, as well as the potential advantage to using technology to promote social interactions on E commerce sites. Implications and future research are discussed. Keywords: E commerce, internet, shopping, social networking Ecommerce and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This means that traffic generated from users communicating only in the wireless network does not have to be propagated towards the optical network as happens with RoF technology. Thus, distributed MAC protocols, e.g. IEEE 802.11b, avoid the fiber s extra propagation delays that degrade their performance. This feature removes a possible limitation regarding the length of the deployed fiber while it adds a degree of resiliency to the system since local wireless traffic can be served even when connectivity with the optical segment is lost. [pic] OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORKS A growing number of providers worldwide are adopting optical technologies in the access network and towards the client s premises (Fiber to the Home or FTTH) due to optical fiber s ability to provide huge amounts of bandwidth in longer distances than copper, immunity to electromagnetic interference and inherent security. Fiber generally should be installed underground for safety reasons and therefore its deployment is an expensive procedure. This is mitigated by deploying a tree like network topology where a part of it is being shared by many clients. Each client is connected via a dedicated fiber to a Remote Node (RN) which in turn is connected via a single fiber to a CO. In general two technologies can be used for this implementation ... Golding s experience in the war had an effect on him and changed his views on humanity. His book was written to demonstrate just how naive the book The Coral Island was. Golding conveys how mankind deteriorates when one has no rules, order or morals. He shows no matter how young or what nationality one is, humans have an internal battle of right and wrong and that without virtues and principles all can go down the path of savagery even innocent children. The third person narrative that Golding uses lets the reader observe how the story develops. Jack is initially a responsible head strong boy who follows the rules that society had given him. Our first impression of the choir is that of an army. They were marching approximately in step. The use of word marching suggests a uniform military movement. Therefore the first sighting of the choir leaves a lasting impression of anonymity on the reader. This is conveyed when they are described as a creature . Ralph s group cannot see the choir so they are unknown and mysterious. Furthermore Jack is presented as an arrogant yet an authoritative character. In the sentence I ought to be chief because I m chapter chorister and head boy, Golding emphasises Jack s arrogance and ignorance as Jack believes that he is suitable for the role of chief due to his role in school which has no relevance. Major expansion of one part may necessitate expansion of another. For example, adding new runways and increasing the number of airside operations will result in the need for new gates and more terminal waiting areas for passengers. Another problem often encountered in expansion is the lack of suitable land. Many airports are closely surrounded by urbanized areas, land that would be extremely expensive to acquire. In many metropolitan areas, a suitable tract of land might be distant from the city center, making ground access a problem. In selecting a distant site, several questions arise. If a new airport is a supplement to, rather than a substitute for, the existing airport, would passengers be willing to travel that far to use it? Would air carriers be willing to serve an airport that might attract fewer passengers than the old airport? These questions above need to be answered in order for funds to come easily and satisfaction of both the government and the public. I began to work on challenging assignments on my own, looking in detail at techniques, experimenting with these, identifying patterns and trends. Conceptualizing data, and analyzing it to glean meaningful information became a major passion and observing my self directed efforts, the professors gave me herculean tasks that were well above my knowledge levels. I welcomed these challenges and impressed the teachers with my skills, strong analytical and reasoning abilities and knowledge of programming. Further, my technical paper on Green Cloud Computing that was presented at a state level paper presentation competition and the seminar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Patellar Lab Report Essay Introduction There are two groups of reflexes in the human body, with two ways to categorize each of them. Reflexes can either be inborn and connected through the nervous system, or they can be learned through practice. Another way to explain a reflexive category would be autonomic reflexes or somatic reflexes. Autonomic reflexes are those which are unaware to us and act on visceral organs of the body, whereas somatic reflexes involve skeletal muscle stimulation. Both types of reflexes are put into effect via the nervous system. (1) The Patellar reflex, or Knee Jerk reflex, is used to test the nervous tissue in the spinal cord from L2 L4. The patellar reflex is known as a reflex arc . It is a negative feedback circuit that is made of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the same time the subject s patellar tendon was sharply tapped. The final element that was tested against the baseline reflex was the influence of fatigue on the strength of the reflex response. This was achieved by having the subject run up and down three levels of stairs three times in the Frost building stairwell of Holyoke Community College. The subject immediately came back to the original sitting position on the edge of the lab bench with legs dangling freely, and the patellar tendon was tapped once more. One subject was used, and was seated in the same position for each of the three tests performed. Because the patellar reflex is immediate, a video was taken during each tap with the hammer to visually compare the strength differences for each influence that was put into effect. This provided a steady, unwavering result with the option of repeated viewing for the conclusion of the experiment. After all three stages of the experiment were completed, the videos were reviewed for comparison between the baseline reflex and the three changing factors, along with any discrepancies and problematic areas that may have altered the results. The strength of the reflex was recorded as either equal to, more vigorous than, or less vigorous than the baseline reflex and the results were put into a simple chart. Results When testing the effects of muscle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. The King Of The Israelites he conquest of the Israelites spread like a lightning bolt. All the countries that lived within the boundaries of the Promised Land were in utter fear for their lives. Kings who had strong fortified cities within massive stone walls trembled as the stories flooded in telling them how easily Israel fought and defeated everyone in their path. Kings everywhere came together in a united effort to stop God s people from entering into their country. Instead their defiance of God s will was met with utter devastation. No one could stand up to the power behind the Israelite army. Israel held tightly to the Laws of Moses doing everything commanded. Because of each man s faithfulness a supernatural ability took over each fighting soldier giving them the ability to stand and defeat a thousand men. Leviticus 26:7 8, You will be victorious over your enemies; five of you will be able to defeat a hundred, and a hundred will be able to defeat ten thousand. Every promise in the Law was fulfilled because the Israelites made a conscious effort to remember the Laws and apply them to their lives. Their faithfulness to God s words empowered the Spiritual forces of the unseen heavenly kingdom and the Spirits of God ran to protect every soldier from harm while enabling them to defeat every person who tried to come up against them. Hebrews 1: 14, What are the angels, then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation. Conquering the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Dq 3 Pressure Ulcers DQ 3 Health outcome I have been working as an NP for two years with home bound adults and geriatric patients, and it is very common to provide treatment for pressure ulcer/skin breakdown/ bedsore. Many of these patients develop the skin break down after just a short hospital stay, while others develop it in the home environment. Among the common factors that contribute to pressure ulcers are debility, immobility and poor nutritional intake. Pressure ulcers have been a significant health problem, especially among the geriatric population (Jaul, E. (2010). The presence of a pressure ulcer constitutes a geriatric dilemma, the cause of which is multifactorial. Some of the problems leading up to this condition are immobility, nutritional deficiency ... This injury results from intense and /or prolonged pressure and shear forces at the bone muscle interface. The wound may evolve rapidly to reveal the actual extent of tissue injury, or may resolve without tissue loss (Wolters Kluwer Health, 2017). Level of measurement for the result is ordinal where stage 0 1 means no skin breakdown. Reference Agrawal, K., Chauhan, N. (2012). Pressure ulcers: Back to the basics. • 52. Dragonfly Population It is important to consider what certain species contributes to an ecosystem before assigning a monetary value to it. Everything from insects to large animals holds immense value in their own unique ways. It might be easier to put monetary value on animals such as grizzly bears or bald eagles because people will not only pay for their protection, but they also go to national parks to view them (which brings in billions of dollars each year.) Insects that pollinate are also easily seen as valuable because they help crops grow and crops are crucial to many economies. A dragonfly population may be more difficult to assign monetary value to. They have a myriad of uses. Though they do not pollinate, they help ecosystems by eating mosquitoes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
