FREEDOM
The Americans returned to the Philippines
in 1945 to end the Japanese rule. The
Filipinos were jubilant and the guerillas who
fled in the mountains joined the liberating
American Army .
3. PHILIPPINE LITERATURE
DURING THIS PERIOD
The post liberation period was marked by ‘’struggle of
mind and spirit” posed by the sudden emancipation from the
Japanese rule and the strong desire to experience the freedom
of writing .
The Filipinos learned to express themselves more
confidently but post war problems in connection to language
and print – like economic stability, the treat of new ideas and
morality- had to be dealt with side by side.
4. The news paper like Free Press , Morning Sun of Sergio
Osmena Sr. Daily Mirror of Joaquin Roces, Evening News of
Ramon Lopez and the Bulletin of Menzi., proved that there were
more readers in English than in any other verneculars like Tagalog,
Ilocano or hHiligaynon during this period.
During this period journalists indulged in more milliant attitude
in their reporting, Gradually, as peace and order were restored , the
tones and themes of their writings turned to the less pressing
problems of economic survival.

It is a period in Philippine History that started in 1945 (the time
when the Japan surrender to the U.S) until 1970. It is also known as a
"Recovering Era"
It is the period when the Philippines gained independence from
the Japanese and Amercans. Problems In 1950s, the Guerilla Warfare,
also known as Hukbalahaps (Hukbong Bayan laban sa Hapon) is
causing problems in the government.

the transitional period in Philippine Literature from the
American Style to the Modern Style Filipinos,
at this time, Filipino’s learned how to express themselves
more confidently.

Macario Pineda - write and published "Ginto sa Makiling" on
1946. Ginto sa Makiling is The first Philippine Literary Work after the
World War II.
Stevan Javellana - published his work "Without seeing the
Dawn", which is all about the experiences in World War II.
N.V.M. Gonzales - wrote and published "A season of Grace" on
1956.
