I have read 100% of the book in the past and 75% this time (some skimming).
What I enjoy most/least about the text. This is the second time I have read The Ragamuffin Gospel by
Brennan Manning (2005), and I still feel like it is a must read for any Christian. The first time I read
this book I remember being awed by God s Grace for ragamuffins and how that relates to my
interactions with people; when I showed God s grace, and when I did not. I still remember specific
times when God reminded me how much he loved the broken and how I could be his hand outreached
by being Jesus with skin on . I also remember specific times when I knew God was directing me to
love on someone, and I for one reason or another, I did not. The first time I read Manning s book, I fell
more in love with people because it helped get a glimpse of how much God loved a ragamuffin. Now
that I am older and life has been harder, I read Manning s book in a different light. Unlike the first
time, where I was reminded how much God loves others; this time it reminds me how much God loves
me! Even though my faith has faltered, and I have had series of doubts and struggles with trust, God

With the urgency of hindering the DAPL efforts in building the pipeline have come with protests from
Native Americans and non Natives alike. Many of these peaceful protests from the Indigenous people
have turned violent with the police pepper spraying and using forceful actions toward those that are

Redeeming Santa Claus
Santa Claus, is known by many names: Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle and simply
Santa . He is a figure that has been influenced by legend, myth, folklore and most importantly for our
purposes today. He wears red, is pulled around on a sleigh by a bunch of reindeer and delivers
presents to good children on the 24th of December.
The purpose of my post is not to argue about whether or not to teach kids about the full on mythical
father Christmas; personally I think it is a bad idea to go along with our culture on this; my friend
Clint Archer does a good job of dealing with this issue, click here to read it.
What I hope to do in this article is see if there is anything about Father Christmas that can be
redeemed. Now before you think my optimistic amillenialism has got the best of me, please read on.

How many different types of cultures are there? Here s the answer there are many cultures. My story
starts like this; both of my parents are from Guadalajara well most of my family is from that part of
México. Being part of the Mexican culture is very different from other cultures, but every culture is
unique of its own way. Many Mexican people have preserved and still do many of their ancestors
traditions. Tradition plays a big role in my family for example: the food we eat, the music we listen to,
what we dance to and what we celebrate to. I wanted a sweet sixteen but of course being Mexican my
parents said no. Being in the Mexican culture tradition is that when you turn 15 you re supposed to

Natural darkness is something many people take for granted and do not consider worthwhile to think
about. However, the author of this passage, Paul Bogard, advocates to preserve natural darkness in Let
There Be Dark. Through his use of appealing to emotion, facts, and word choice, Bogard is able to
make an emotional plea to preserve darkness whilst also informing the reader of the many benefits
natural darkness has to offer as well.
Within the first paragraph Bogard has already established a connection he himself feels with natural

In All Quiet on the Western Front, the Great War emotionally destroys Paul through the
dehumanization of the soldiers. Throughout the book, thoughts of his future, desperation for life, and
coping with his actions crushes him psychologically. Therefore Paul gains realization of the reality of
the war; he soon loses everyone he has gained emotional attachment to during the time he serves and
is unable to cope with the loss of all his companions. This disturbs him far more than the physical
wounds in battle.
From the beginning Paul has many doubts about his life after the war. Compared to the older men, he

After being mercilessly attacked with gas, he sees the brutality and lack of concern for the soldiers
lives. Although he is continuously pressured by authority figures to see the opposing fighter as the

John Locke s Theory On Modern Science
John Locke s theories on how knowledge is gained through the senses and how there are different
kinds of experiences and ideas adds to, and justifies, the movement of modern science. Modern
science is all about observing the natural world in order to understand and gain knowledge about what
is going around us. I agree that humans do gain knowledge and form different kinds of ideas through
our senses and different experiences.
The reoccurring theme with John Locke s theory on modern science is the idea of the senses and how
knowledge is made through sense data. Empiricism is the notion that all knowledge comes from sense

My experiement was the naked egg experiment. The purpose of this project was to demonstrate the
effects of an acid vs. a neutral on an egg. To do that, I would see if both liquids were able to dissolve
the outer shell of a raw egg. This experiement required six household items: two bowls, two eggs,
vinegar, and water. The question that evolved was, what happens to an egg submerged in vinegar
(acid) vs. water (neutral)?
