Answer: Because many things were not built well which led to it collapsing andharming many
people.
5. Energy Implications: Why did China believe the building of the Three Gorges Dam was an
absolute necessity in terms of energy production?
Answer: The Yangtze used to flood every year wiping out mountainside villages, you can see this
throughout Chinese history. Hundreds of thousands died during the dynastic era due to flooding.
The dam allowed China to regulate water flow and harness it for energy. It also was part of the
government efforts to redirect water flow to drought stricken areas. 6. Energy Implications:
Compare the energy production of the Three Gorges Dam to the Hoover Dam. Although China
believed the Dam would provide the nation with 10% of its power needs, what is the current
amount of power it actually is supplying?
Answer: China thought that the Three Gorges Dam would provide 10 percent of China s total
energy needs. During the years of construction, the population МЃs demand of energy has reduced
that number to 3 percent. The Hoover Dam produces, on average, about 4 billion kilowatt hours of
hydroelectric power each year for use in Nevada, Arizona,

J.R.R Tolkien and WWI Influence in The Lord of the Rings War has affected the lives of people
since the beginning of civilization. Even General Sherman, famous for his March to the Sea in
America s Civil War, was known for his saying, War is Hell. That idea would only prove to be all
too true for the soldiers of World War I
. J.R.R Tolkien was among the young men that struggled
for survival in the damp and deplorable trenches as enemy fire hailed from the sky and bombs
decimated the terrain around them. Many soldiers returned home, physically and mentally
traumatized. J.R.R. Tolkien was no different, and returned home from the war after losing two
of his closest friends, suffering from trench fever, and struggling to acclimate back into normal
civilian life (Wood 7). The war left an imprint on him, just as it did many other WWI writers,
such as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Graves (Ott 1). Tolkien used his writings as a way to
escape his trauma, but the scars followed him even into his mythopedia of Middle earth as he
wrote The Lord of the Rings. Sam, Frodo, and other characters, like Aragorn, suffered through
similar physical tribulations such as horrid sights of rotting corpses, as well as emotional
struggles, such as feelings of despair, similar to the soldiers of World War I (Ott 5). The various
emotional and physical vicissitudes that Sam and Frodo encountered were similar to those suffered

follow ― in other words, for Writing in the Discipline. The writing labs provide the student an
opportunity to hone their skills and develop the tools necessary for coherent writing. As
mentioned above, writing labs are conducted by Masters Degree and Ph.D. candidates. They are a
combination of lecture, in class exercises, participation, and Blackboard Learning Modules. The
labs afford an opportunity for students to become engaged with the material as they work on
format, style, and critical thinking. Attendance and participation is very important, and is a
substantial portion of the lab grade. Overall, the writing assignments can be classified as three
Papers (approximately four, six, and eight pages respectively), and ten Responses (approximately
500 words each). Details are provided in the Assignments section below.

6. Cultural And Culture, Culture And Cultural Awareness Of Italy
Italy Cultural Awareness Culture gets defined as the shared behavior that usually exists within a
given group of people, and is known to have learned and develop with time through socialization
in the families, social groups, and schools. This group of people has to reach an agreement for that
culture to exist. Culture awareness therefore is the understanding that someone has about the
difference between themselves and other groups of people from other countries or even other
backgrounds. It could be differences regarding their behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, norms and their
values. Different people do things in a particular way; they view the world in various manners and
even react to things in a variety of ways (Whittaker, A. 2010 ). Culture awareness in Italyis the focus
of this paper.
Broadly discussed, Italian culture entails, arts, family issues, food, architecture, and music. Although
other ethnicities live in this country, it becomes known that about 96% of Italy is composed of
Italians. The country s official language is Italian, and majority speaks it as their primary language.
The Italian family became viewed as a significant value. Most dwell in extended families rather than
the nuclear family who are only composed of father, mother, and children. The families gather for
multiple occasions throughout the year, and even more for no special occasion at all except to be

Has the idea of freedom from fear changed over time? Everything changes over time. The world
faces new challenges, or it reinvents old ones as technology, business, and culture evolve.
However, the core concepts that many of us hold dear, including freedom, remain the same.
President Franklin Roosevelt, in his Four Freedoms Speech, Americans heard a list of four
essential freedoms that they should work toward for the future. They include freedom of speech
and expression everywhere in the world, freedom of every person to worship God in his own way
everywhere in the world, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. These freedoms aren t limited

8. Leadership in 12 Angry Men
In the film 12 Angry Men, a group of twelve jurors are deciding the fate of a young boy accused
of murdering his father. Throughout the juries dilleration, one man exhibits all of the qualities of
leadership. This man is juror number 8 played by Henry Fonda. Fonda not only exhibits the the 10
qualities of a leader but he uses these qualities to lead the entire juryto a vote of not guilty (Fonda
Lumet, 1957).
Early on in the film Fonda shows the first quality of leadership vision. Vision can be defined as the
leaders ability to know what is needed and how what is needed can be achieved (book). In the case
of 12 Angry Men, Henry Fonda has a vision that he and the other jurors have the responsibility to
consider the facts in the case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Fonda the entire film is him doing just that. Being that Fonda what the only one at the
beginning to vote not guilty, he used his enthusiasm to bring the rest of the jurors over to his way
of think. A good example of this is how he convinced juror number 9 (the old man) that there
could be doubt in the witness that was an older gentleman like he was. By showing juror 9 that
there were flaws in the evidence and the witnesses he was able to gain another follower. His
enthusiasm for getting the ruling right is what drove him to be able to make this happen time and
time again with every juror (Fonda Lumet, 1957).
Next we are introduced to Fonda s leadership quality of Stability. Stability is the quality of a
leader to discern emotions from fact and keep personal beliefs separate from the task at hand
(book). In the film we see this when Fonda discerns that racism of another juror is not acceptable.
He says to juror 6 that it s always difficult to keep personal prejudice out of a thing like this
(Fonda Lumet, 1957). In this statement he is showing his own abilities to discern what prejudice is
and how he is trying to keep it from influencing his decisions.
The fifth quality of leadership expressed by Fonda in the film was that of Concern for Others. In
this quality of leadership the leader values those they lead as fellow human beings and not just as
those that are there to serve (book). The whole premise behind the film directly

9. The Creation Of Sputnik
On October 4, 1957 the Soviet Union launched a satellite called Sputnik 1 into space. This
marked the start of the space race. Americans were terrified of the chance of the Soviet s sending
missiles from space. However Dwight. D. Eisenhower was not scared and did not do much.
About a month later on November 3, 1957 the Soviets launched a new spacecraft called Sputnik 2.
Sputnik 2 sent the first animal into space, it was named Laika. Lakia did not survive, but the
Russians were in the lead.
America decided to do something so they attempted to send Vanguard, ( satellite, nobody was in it)

Keegan Paper
War through the Ages: Waterloo Somme One hundred years separated the Battle at Waterloo and
the Battle at the Somme, and despite that time gap certain social and military aspects have been
able transcend time. John Keegan s The Face of Battle, detailed the experiences of both battles from
a British perspective. Within that one hundred year span many facets of war changed, the tactics, the
machinery, the tools, the soldiers and the very cause of the battle itself. Despite the stark contrasts
of each, it was the similarities in experience and tactics that were truly striking. When analyzing
both battles careful, it became apparent the parallels of war despite time, location and societal
factors.
Like many events in history, a battle is very telling about the society it took place in. This idea
rang true during the Battle of the Somme, happening in the midst of World War I, July 1916. The
British, aligned with the other Allies were set to take on the Germans. According to Keegan, the

12. Spring Day Poem Analysis
Spring day by Elise is an English cover of the original version by BTS. It is written in first person
but can be applied to the audience s personal experiences. The song explores the ideas of love and
death as it illustrates the grief of losing a friend or loved one.
Throughout the song, winter is shown as a continuous metaphor used to symbolise misery. It s the
salient metaphor of the song as it is repeated and constantly referenced. The composer chose to
display winter in a more cold, lonesome and depressive manner. The surrounding cold of winter that
seems to never disperse illustrates the lack of warmth and happiness in his life. This is further
reinforced with the lack of sunlight in the winter.
The line There s no darkness or season that s in store where there will never be an end directly
compares winter to the persona s depression. It explains to the audience that grief, or winter, is not
everlasting, that spring is approaching and the long winter will finally come to an end. It is the start
of when the persona begins to accept the death of his loved one, whereas previously it was
expressed to be a never ending situation of grief, specifically in the line where I am it s always
winter .
Moreover, spring too, is a metaphor, for hope and acceptance and death, that works alongside the
metaphor of winter. Spring is seen as the season of warmth, birth and restoration. The lines Until
spring decides to come again
Until flowers, they bloom again
Please stay where you are and wait for me
Please wait for me explains why it is such an important aspect of this song. Spring is the time in
which the persona may finally reunite with their lost loved one, once reunited, he will no longer be
in misery, however, the lines suggests that they may only reunite after death. Thus spring
symbolises both happiness and death and acceptance.
The image used on slide 8, shows a person walking sadly down a street. On his side of the street it
is winter, on the other side its summer. It the lyric in August it s like December in its metaphorical
aspect to visually demonstrate the intended meaning behind the lyric. Colour symbolises the
emotions of the characters in the image. The persona s side is colourless, to

13. Analysis Of Paulo Freire s The Pedogogy Of The Oppressed
In this reading from the book THE PEDOGOGY OF THE OPPRESSED , the author Paulo Freire
tackles three various types of educational styles and their direct influence on the student and the
society. The liberation teaching style, the narrative technique, and the banking style of teaching. As
the title suggests, there are two educational styles directed to the oppressed and the oppressor.
These are; the banking and the narrativeeducational style. Paulo Freirein a very persuasive way
argues, the only way to transform people s lives as a teacher is the use of the liberation approach
where students are giving the freedom to express themselves and communicate with the teacher to
help the students understand the methods used in teaching. This helps students interact, ask
questions and solve problems with both their peers and the teacher. According to Pianta, Positive
student teacher relationships are characterized by open communication, as well as emotional and
academic support that exist between students and teachers . The other approach is the narrative and
the banking techniques of teaching. These approaches make students not think critically and the
author points out how useless it is for students. Paulo Freire talks further and explains the narrative
approach to teaching. In the narrative style, it is seen by the reader that the student is a container to
be filled with information and to regurgitate back to the teacher at the student s request without
knowing the

15. Abnormal Psychology Labels
As humans we like to place labels on everything. In order to define, describe, or just to pin point
something out. The majority of us humans are guilty of using words such as normal , abnormal ,
crazy , psychotic , and dysfunctional to describe people we see behaving in a certain manner.
Behavior of an individual usually tends to be the main source from which these labels derive.
While placing these labels on various behaviors we forget some factors, which are culture, values,
and personal perspective. As a society we are so quick to judge, especially the American society.
As part of the American society we tend to be very quick to place a label on behaviors. For
example, in my undergraduate career I took a course called abnormal Psychology . The first day of
the course the instructor made it very clear that there was no such thing as normal , and abnormal .

On the other hand, I have to think about a few things. Why do we have the DSM 5, courses such
as abnormal psychology, and most importantly why do the terms normal and abnormal or health

as a previous instructor of mine said, or are challenging to label. Then the field of psychology
would be inexistent. A major part of the field is due to the mental disorders people have, which
have already been labeled. These disorders were labeled in order for clinicians, or professional to
do three things: place a label, find the structure of treatment, and treat the disorder. This system
here is the whole focus of the DSM in general. As for the course abnormal psychology that was
taken during my undergrad career, we touch bases on various brain disorders that were not normal
for the average mentally stable human. The terms abnormal , normal , health and dysfunction do
exist due to the previous reasons listed

Michigan has a few candidates to fill the void in the middle. Mark Donnal showed flashes of
promise this season, and given that he ll be a senior next season, Donnal could help the
Wolverines. Ricky Doyle, a 6 foot 9 sophomore, didn t exactly scream breakout potential after

Wolverines regular season. However, in Michigan s upset win over the Indiana Hoosiers on
March 11, Wagner went 2 for 2 from the free throw line and 3 for 3 from the field, including a

(2 for 2), while grabbing eight boards and blocking four shots. Wagner showed enthusiasm and fire

To start with, the idea that sometimes the dearly departed has not moved on to a better place and
hangs around the living has been a long trending superstition. Back in the 1800 s, this belief was
made stronger because of William Mumler. Photographs and cameras were relatively new when
Mumler started dabbling in photography, but he took the most amazing pictures. Not only did his
pictures capture the images of the customers, but they also supposedly caught the images of the
customer s deceased relatives (Mahnke, 2018). While there has been much debate about whether or
not Mumler s photographs were doctored into looking as if a someone else was in the photo, the

18. How Does Katniss Use Food In The Hunger Games
Suzanne Collins wrote the popular series The Hunger Games which became an extremely popular
read for young adults. Collin s novels contain a deeper meaning that is often overlooked unless you
are purposefully searching for it. There are many references to food in the novels, namely bread,
that outlines the sometimes brutal relationship that we have with food and the nature of our
entertainment. The series written by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games, spins an incredible story
that surrounds the main protagonist Katniss Everdeen. The story is set in the dystopian country of

The phrase was coined in Roman times and was used by the Roman Emperors as a manipulation
tactic to diverge revolts that arise from a starving, unhappy populace using food and
entertainment. The Capitol nearly mirrors this policy through the abundant resources and
distractions offered to the wealthy who live within its borders. The difference is that while the
Capitol supports the wealthy, they do nothing for the discord that arises from the starvation in the
districts, and instead worsen it for them with an overpowering hand that controls all the food
supply. There is no value placed on food within the capitol the way there is within the districts,
this can be seen within the novels as Katniss and Peeta are offered pills that will make them puke
up the food they ate so that they may indulge in more and be able to sample all of the dishes
offered. This was repulsive to both Peeta and Katniss as nearly everyone from back home was
starving and would do anything to have such unlimited and uncaring access to food. When they
expressed their concerns, the people around them didn t understand their disgust and instead
considered it rude that they wouldn t partake in the custom. The entertainment side of the phrase is
where Collins makes her novels gruesome. The hunger games that the children are put through are

Prion Protein (PRNP) is encoded by a gene, which contains a highly unstable region of five tandem
octapeptide repeats. An octapeptide repeat is a fragment from the protein which is composed of

PRNP; these are tandem meaning that the octapeptide sequences are in such an arrangement that
they are lined up one behind the other (Mastrianni, 2009).

Patton was a man with a family tree of fighters. In about every war the U.S. has been in before
World War I, Patton s family was there to fight. Before World War I, Patton had experience fighting

Dialects of OE
Four main dialects were spoken in Anglo Saxon England:
Kentish
The speech of the Jutes that was mainly used in present day Kent. Few works written in this dialect
remain.
West Saxon
It was spoken in the region south of the Thames (southern and southwestern England). This area
was mainly settled by West Saxons, so this dialect soon became known as Wessex. Most of the OE
corpus is written in this dialect and the reason for this is the fact that this kingdom became the
leading political and cultural force under King Alfred at the end of the 9th century.

developed from the Roman alphabet. One of the varietets of the runic script is the Anglo Saxon
script. The common runic alphabet consisted of 24 letters, but The Anglo Saxon script added letters
to the futhark to represent sounds that could were unique for Old English. Each letter had its name

23. Mir34a Essay
MiR34a inhibits AОІ fibril uptake and autophagy flux
Regarding the compromised capability of AОІ clearance in AD, we suspected that miR34a may be
an indispensable player. To validate this, AО
І42 fibrils were prepared from AОІ42 monomer ex
vivo and used to treat glioma A172 and U251 cells. AОІ uptake was blocked by both transient
transfection of a miR34a mimic and stable miR34a overexpression (Supplementary Fig. 1B, Fig.
1A), but enhanced by anti miR34a (Fig. 1B), indicating that miR34a suppressed AОІ phagocytosis
in these cells. The fact that enhanced and decreased levels of miR34a correlated with corresponding
changes in intracellular AОІ supports the notion that miR34a may slow down AОІ clearance by
affecting its AОІ uptake and degradation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since mature autophagosome fuse with lysosomes to become autolysosome in the very late stage
of autophagy, we asked whether miR34a could retard autophagosome lysosome fusion by
examining the co localization of EGFP LC3 and LysoTracker Red, a specific dye for live cell
lysosome labeling [47]. As expected, EGFP LC3 puncta were dramatically reinforced in miR34a
mimic transfected cells but did not co localize with LysoTracker Red. This was acting similar to
cells treated with bafilomycin A1 (Baf), which blocked autophagosome lysosome fusion. In
contrast, E64D treatment induced a remarkable increased EGFP LC3 puncta, which were well co
localized with LysoTracker Red (Fig. 1D). Since lysosome associated membrane glycoprotein 2
(LAMP2) is also critical for autophagosome lysosome fusion [48], we examined the effect of
miR34a on LAMP2 expression using WB analysis. MiR34a caused an unexpected increase of
LAMP2 (Supplementary Fig. 1C), suggesting that the mechanism by which miR34a blocked
autophagosome lysosome fusion was not due to LAMP2. As LAMP2 is mostly important for
chaperone mediated autophagy, its increase might be a compensation for the decrease in
macroautophagy. In summary, the above results reinforce that miR34a compromised AО
І
degradation by, at least, blocking autolysosome formation.

24. Wages For The American Worker Essay
Honest Wages for The American Worker Congratulations, you are hired! The four words that
people long to hear. However, for many newly employed workers, their new job will not pay an
income that will enable them to live comfortably. In 2015, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported
that 2.6 million Americans, or approximately 3.3 percent of all hourly paid workers earned wages
at, or below the federal minimum wage. Since 2009, the federal minimum wageamount has
remained stagnant. Bringing this number to a level that is consistent with the cost of living is a
basic right for every wage earning American. Raising the minimum wage enables working people to
live above the poverty line. Although opposition states that raising the wage will increase
unemployment, the increase would actually reduce the number of persons receiving food stamps,
stimulate the economy, in addition to reducing incomeinequality.
According to a Washington Post ABC news poll, two thirds of Americans say the minimum wage
should be increased. In 2015, protests by low wage workers garnered media attention and
captured the nation s attention. Workers exposed the low wage paying practices by several big
name corporations. These companies included Macy s, Sears and Walmart in addition to fast food
outlets Dunkin Donuts, McDonald s and Subway. Pressure is building on Congress to raise the

nervous if a police officer keeps passing by when they plan to commit a crime and might wonder
if the police noticed them. However, cop cars pass by in seconds, so I am glad other methods of
patrol are being used like foot patrol, bicycle patrol, and mounted patrol. Even if preventive patrols
weren t effective, they still make a presence in the community, which is important. Making a
presence could familiarize a neighborhood with a policeofficer. For example, the first day my son

30. Why Is Empathy Important In Human Services
Conflicting messages will inevitably hinder our communication and our ability to help those we
serve.
The Skill of Empathy Another important skill in the field of human services would be empathy. In
the last two years, I have learned the difference between sympathy and empathy. Sympathy actually
separates and isolates individuals, while empathy empowers them. As helpers, we cannot stand on a
pedestal reaching down and effectively help others. Empathy allows us to bring others up to equal
grounds where we can be much more effective.
Some research even suggest that empathy is the key. It has been suggested that individuals often
have the tools they need to live fulfilling lives and to better themselves, if only given the power to
believe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All different facets of the human services field require a professional relationship. This field of
service involves helping people, and in order to help people, we must enter into some form of
relationship. I believe that respect is a key element of a successful relationship. As helpers, we
must be able to respect others. We must respect their views and opinions; we must respect their
customs and beliefs; and we must respect their individual right of choice. I believe many of the
basic fundamentals of human service, such as confidentiality, empathy, and even antonym, can fall
under the umbrella of respect. If I truly respect, another I will not try to force my own agenda,
and if I truly respect another, I will keep in confidence the information they have shared. I believe
that respect is a right that should be granted to everyone without limitations, however, respect
doesn t require agreement or even acceptance. I have developed the ability to respect the views of
others without conforming, which for me is a true sign of personal growth. The last two years has
taught me that I can find validation without conformity, and that I can respect and even admire the
diversity of

31. Gender Inequality Towards Women During The Service Then...
THESIS: Gender inequality towards women in the service then and now
Women have served in the armed forces from as early as the American Revolution to present.
They have served selflessly with dedication towards their country in times of conflict. About two
hundred years ago it wasn t easy for a women to be in the service, they would disguise themselves
as men. It was believed that women did not have the capability and were not strong enough to
handle the situations that would arise in the daily life of someone in the service. Gender inequality
has always been a issue for women, even today many women are a victim of inequality. It was
said that women are more fragile than men; males are stronger and able to do more than females.
In some things, women weren t allowed to partake in physical activities such as combat, field
artillery, and etc. Women normally worked with logistic and as nurses. The qualifications for men
and women are very similar, but it has its difference; most women work with air defense artillery,
nursing, logistic, and etc. While most men work in combat, field artillery, mechanics, and etc. Out
of generals and admirals, 7.1% are women, out of those women 46% were in the medical field. In
fact, only two women in military history became four star generals. The Washington Post states, We

first and second themes. Composer in classical era always put same key when exposition ended.

He also putted cadenza after in the end of this movement. Mozart was not wrote the cadenza for
horn soloist. Horn players have to make cadenza by themselves.
Second movement of this horn concerto is a Romance in Ab Major. This form is a ternary form.
Mozart puts horn and orchestra together to play this melody. Mozart used two themes and some
melodic link to connect all movement. The first four measures of the beginning showed up two
times in this movement. This third movement is a rondo form. The sections of this movement are
ABACA. A section repeated three times. Mozart putted codetta in the last section. And he used the
continuing triple notes to make this piece more excited. At the same time, the theme of this
movement sounds like Mozart s piano concerto No.22. Even these two pieces do not have the
exactly same melody, but still can figured out the similar theme between these two pieces.
This is interesting evidence about Mozart s four concertos. His first movements of his concerti are
sonata form and third movements are rondo. Because Mozart s first horn concerto is an incomplete
piece, his second movement of this piece is a rondo. In the other hand, this movement originally
was a third movement. In his three concerti (without first horn concerto), his second movements
basically are romance. However, in No.2 horn concerto, Mozart only wrote Andante for second
movement. Even Mozart was

38. Sex Offenders Should Be Legal
Over the years, there has been controversy on the topic of whether the names of sex offenders
should or shouldn t be made public. Sex offender laws may vary from state to state depending on
the specific type of violation. When the sex offenders are released from prison, they are enlisted
on an online database where their names, photographs, and addresses are displayed to the
public. As a result of this national publication database, sex offender laws have grown self
defeatingly harsh (Economist 655). When sex offenders are added to the registries, it is often
felt unfair that the registries enforce harsh punishments for small offenses, sex offender laws
punishes the offender and his or her family, and does little to protect the innocent. Sex offenders
often get punished for offenses that are small, low risk crimes. It is possible for a person to lose
their job or the opportunity to see their children for one tier offenses. Also, offenders can be at risk
of being brutally attacked or murdered by being named a sex offenderon the database. These
offenders will soon become a burden to the economy because of their incapability to stay
employed. Eventually, offenders are left relying on welfare with state assistance, and they are
viewed as an outsider of the community. As a result of extreme stress, the offender can act out and
become a second term offender.

His plan to defeat free nations was nearly successful. If the United States had not stepped in Hitler
would have been successful. America could not stand by and see other countries freedoms taken

freedom not important today? Over the years America s freedoms have expanded but not for the
good. People now think there personal preference comes before the majority of the people.
When America established rules they were based on the Ten Commandments. Over the years it
has seemed that America as a whole has went away from that. It also seems that if some people
aren t happy about something its automatically in their favor rather than the majority and this
leads to more problems and more issues among the American people. These freedoms have
expanded to the point that the majority will lose the right to have a choice. One example is that
some people had a problem with prayer in schools. So they went through the court system,
followed all the rules and because of that one person prayer was taken out of all schools. So now
parents are now have to explain to their children why that one person made it to where they could

40. Hughes And The Harlem Renaissance
Negro life is seizing its first chances for group expression and self determination. This quote
comes from a highly acclaimed critic and teacher Alain Locke. The Harlem Renaissance, or the
New Negro Movement, was a literary, artistic, and intellectual movement that kindled a new black
cultural identity in the 1920 s to the mid 1930s (History.com). Harlem was the Mecca for black
writers, musicians, poets, and scholars. The Harlem Renaissanceincluded visual arts, but excluded
jazz, even though it have similarity as a black art form. The combination of whites prejudice and
the exotic world of Harlem sought out and published black writers. Since much of the literature

South offered to African Americans. Hughes attended Columbia University in 1920, but only
completed one year. He worked various jobs as a merchant seaman, night club in Paris, and a
busboy in Washington D.C. Hughes also covered the Spanish American War and was part of the
American Communist party. In one of Hughes s essay titled, The Negro Artist and the Racial

black artists: One of the most promising of the young Negro Poet, meaning, I believe, I want to

artists have to face during this time. Whites dominated the literary industry and black artists had a

character, Blanche DuBois. Blanche is both a theatricalizing and self theatricalizing woman. The
second major character is Stanley. Stanley Kowalskiis a fascinating character. He s a man of habit
and structure, and his desires in life are quite simple. He is the man who likes to lay his cards on

Stanley is portrayed as being superior to his wife, Stella. The reader can precieve that Stanley s
strong presence will be a significant theme throughout the play. His chief amusements are
gambling, bowling, sex, and drinking, and he lacks ideals and imagination. His disturbing,
degenerate nature, first hinted at when he beats his wife, is fully evident after he rapes his sister in
law. Stanley shows no remorse for his brutal actions.
Stanley possesses an animalistic physical vigor that is evident in his love of work and fighting.
One characteristic of Stanley is his rudeness and cruelty. Stanley s animosity toward Blanche
manifests itself in all of his actions toward her his investigations of her past, his birthday gift to
her, his sabotage of her relationship with Mitch. Scene eight mentions Blanche s birthday party,
and surprisingly, she receives a gift from Stanley. This gift, however, is not one that most people
would appreciate. Blanche is very surprised to get a gift from Stanley, and as she opens it she

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of mortality in all over the world. The

MDR TB is defined as a form of TB that is resistant to the two most potent TB antibiotics,

person come together to change things in return of something they are doing business.
Traditionally, trade was done by meeting in person with the buyer or seller but that doesn t hold
true in the 21st century. Today most of the business have adopted electronic form of business. John
B. Horrigan writes, Two thirds (66%) of online Americans say they have purchased a product
online, such as a book, toy, music, or clothing. Many people have moved on with online shopping
for some good reasons that comes with it. One of the reason is it being convenient. E commerce
provides option of home delivery which saves effort of actually going to the store and move
around to make a choice. Buying online means to just seat on your couch and make a selection
without even moving from your place. The best part of it is that you just have to place the order
and it gets delivered at your doorsteps. Number of internet users have been increasing since 2000,
but the online transaction rate has been increasing more rapidly. 78% of internet users either
agree (53%) or agree strongly (25%) with the proposition that shopping online is convenient for
them (Horrigan). The other reason why electronic form of business is popular is that it saves a lot
of time to people. While it makes convenient to buy almost everything from home, it also save time
to travel to and from the store. Horrigan says that 68% of

Some people spend their whole life trying to accomplish a particular something. It might be an

the end and we will not regret anything when we look back onto it? In Great Expectationsby Charles
Dickens, he states that life would not be as gratifying if one s life is filled with manipulation and

48. Raising Medical Malpractice
The rising price of health care and the amount of medical malpractice claims being filed sparked
a start to this controversial topic. The average price of medical care has gone up roughly 20
percent between the late 80s and the early 2000s (The risk authority, 2014). And the amount of
medical malpractice claims in the same twenty years has arisen from one person filing a claim to
five people filing the same claim, in a small ratio (Doyle, n.d.). The rising cost of medical
expenses is feeding off of the increase in the amount of these cases filed every year. There are other
reasons for the medical cost to rise such as the new expensive treatments and medications. But these
new innovations are also raising the amount medical malpractice... Show more content on

As medical innovations advance throughout time, the quality of medicine and care is increasing
along with the costs of health care because of the amount of medical malpractice suits filed. And
each with their increasingly steep, positive association, rising quickly, feed off of each other
giving a negative impact on the people needing this care. According to National Health
Expenditures, in the year 2016 health care spending sky rocked increasing by 4.3 percent, this is
an average of more than $10,000 per person and as a whole $3.3 trillion in the U.S. (Joyce,
2016). These increasing prices gives horrible news for the majority of U.S. citizens, the average
of more than $10,000 per person can be detrimental to anyone. People just don t have this kind of
money to drop on health care. The average income for one person is just over $80,000. This
means that for the family of four (two parents, two children), this amount of money is a quarter
of their income before taxes, food, and other necessities. The non conquencidental cause of the
rise in the price of health care is the increasing amount of medical malpractice claims. A graph
from The Risk Authority Medical Malpractice Trend Review states that, for a large case between
the late 1980s and the early 2000s the amount of cases rose roughly 20 percent, this means that
for every one person in the late 1980s that filed a claim, in the early 2000s five people filed a
medical malpractice claim (Doyle, n.d.). The increasing amount of medical malpractice claims
is rising the price of health care for everyone. This is because the doctors have to pay for these
cases, and they are paying for them out of pocket, even if it is found to not be medical
malpractice, they still have to pay for the court fees out of pocket. To make up for the court fees
and payouts, they raise their costs. This

an individual s identity and play a significant role in one s life by shaping personal values,

personal values and beliefs went against Russian soldiers demands only because incidents
before have had an impact on his character and they shaped his identity. Baba constantly tries to
do good deeds to redeem and perhaps forgive himself. Another example of shaping identity is
society pressure. Baba s image mattered, how other people saw him and how they treated him
was a part of his personal values and self worth. Wealth, status and honor were how he was
portrayed in front of society. Society pressure and judgment shaped Baba s identity and
impacted his decisions. He was ashamed to tell everyone that he is Hassan s father, a father to a

For many Westerners, more specifically the driven citizens of the United States of America,
time is viewed as a straight line. Our children realize this, consciously or not, early on. They

scale. We are born, we come of age during adolescence. We set a goal, we work to achieve
success. Birth and death, childhood and adulthood are stages that occur only once. Life is black
and white. Separate. The past is the past, the future is the future. Traveling on a straight line, we

Lao Tzu, credited with penning the Tao Te Ching, noted that a good traveler has no fixed plans/and

The book opens with the title character s decision to leave his traditional Hindu community and

the Samanas. Siddhartha thinks, waits, and fasts. He struggles to free himself from The Self: the

Morality of Population Control of Bangladesh
ABSTRACT: The rapid rate of population growth in the last half of the present century causes
anxiety about the future of humanity because the amount of resources needed to satisfy basic
necessities is extremely large. Correspondingly, the satisfaction of basic needs cannot be the sole
criterion of the good life. Human beings have a right to live a life composed of things that make life
go best. The case of Bangladesh shows that the majority of people live a life barely worth living, a
life morally undesirable. One major reason is the rapid increase in population. Bangladesh covers an
